Obama’s Screwy Tax Plan 101: The Best Explanation I Have Seen!

May I just say how much I love the posters at NoQ. Scrolling through the comments of my recent story Will Floridians Like Obama Spreading The Wealth, I came across this little gem.

This sums up Senator Obama’s tax plan perfectly and I have a feeling he would be very grateful to us if we made this go viral and shared it with as many people as possible, being that he is such a good communicator.

I think Senator Biden would be grateful too, since he has trouble honestly, consistently or coherently stating what any of their tax plans are — except that paying more taxes is patriotic.

This was helpfully offered up by someone called ‘Spread The Wealth…LOL.’ Apparently it was originally donated to the blogsite Bits & Pieces. Enjoy:

Good Lesson

Yesterday on my way to lunch at Doe’s, I passed one of the homeless guys in that area, with a sign that read; “Vote Obama, I need the money.”

Once in the Doe’s my waiter had on a “Obama 08″ tee shirt. When the bill came, I decided not to tip the waiter and explained to him while he had given me exceptional service, that his tee shirt made me feel he obviously believes in Senator Obama’s plan to redistribute the wealth. I told him I was going to redistribute his tip to someone that I deemed more in need; the homeless guy outside. He stood there in disbelief and angrily stormed away.

I went outside, gave the homeless guy $3 and told him to thank the waiter inside, as I had decided he could use the money more. The homeless guy looked at me in disbelief but seemed grateful.

As I got in my truck, I realized this rather unscientific redistribution experiment had left the homeless guy quite happy for the money he did not earn, but the waiter was pretty angry that I gave away the money he did earn. Well, I guess this redistribution of wealth is going to take a while to catch on with those doing the work.

Since I am not an economist, I was very grateful for this example – so straight and to the point, without all those pesky graphs and byzantine charts. I think this distills the basic concepts of Senator Obama’s tax plan so we can all understand it.

As Senator Obama plans to spread the wealth, I intend to spread the word and share this with as many voters as I can.

What say you?

    I will do the same – what a great idea. Hope we can spread the wealth, er, I mean, word.

    The McCain Campaign Response: “The American people continue to learn more about Barack Obama. Now we know that the slogans ‘change you can believe in’ and ‘change we need’ are code words for Barack Obama’s ultimate goal: ‘redistributive change.’ In a previously uncovered interview from September 6, 2001, Barack Obama expressed his regret that the Supreme Court hadn’t been more ‘radical’ and described as a ‘tragedy’ the Court’s refusal to take up ‘the issues of redistribution of wealth.’ No wonder he wants to appoint judges that legislate from the bench – as insurance in case a unified Democratic government under his control fails to meet his basic goal: taking money away from people who work for it and giving it to people who Barack Obama believes deserve it. Europeans call it socialism, Americans call it welfare, and Barack Obama calls it change,” McCain senior policy adviser Douglas Holtz-Eakin said in a statement.

    That’s great! I’m all for government assistance for those in need, but I don’t want Obama being the one deciding on what works and what doesn’t.

    He thinks ACORN is great after all.

      That’s great! I’m all for government assistance for those in need

      Currently that would be defense contractors and oil companies “in need.” The Precious wants to dole it out to unemployed Oborgbots and for past injustice I have absolute nothing to do with. Both ideas I am against. Both parties have been raiding the treasury for generations. Its time for reform and third party is a pipe dream. The reform has to come from within. Gee this sounds like a Mac endorsement! :mrgreen:

      • Idiocracy08

        I meant the PEOPLE in real need – in the real world. Not politicians just lining their pockets – in this paradox.

        My comment was made because Obama said that he would give the money to the “programs that work”.

        • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

          I understood your comment. I was elaborating and taking it in a different direction. :mrgreen:

      CNN Commentary: “ACORN issue not vote fraud, but vote suppression” according to Donna Brazile
      http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/10/27/brazile.acorn/index.html

      “In the world of some elites, low- and moderate-income families and the organizations that work to empower them are the bad guys. There is all-out class warfare going on here, folks.”
      “The so-called ACORN scandal is no more than a few canvassers trying to meet their quota and make easy money by cheating the system.”
      “A simple cost-benefit analysis tells us this is not a reasonable or significant threat. The real threat here is the Republican Party using attacks on ACORN as a calculated strategy to justify massive challenges to the votes cast in Democratic-leaning voting precincts on Election Day. And this is what is truly outrageous, but where is John McCain’s concern when it comes to people being harassed at the voting booth?”
      “We must be vigilant in protecting people’s right to vote, not vigilant in suppressing it.”

      THIS LAST QUOTE MAKES ME MAD! WHAT ABOUT VOTERS IN MICHIGAN AND FLORIDA DURING THE PRIMARIES… WHAT ABOUT THEIR VOTES! Brazile is such a disingenous #@#@%@ you know what!

      I agree with idiocrazy08 about govt asst for those in need. Unfortunately experts are stating between 39-49% of americans do NOT work – they think closer to 49%. I think anyone receiving government assitance or applying for it should be drug tested (there teenage children as well). A negative results = a denied claim. We working taxpayers are drug tested in order to be gainfully employeed. I believe those who are truly in need will return postive results – most people I know in these situations are attending school & on gvt programs temporarily. It’s those who are scamming our government programs will most likely to be the ones having negative test results. I also think when single parents apply or are on these programs and they continue to reproduce multiple children with mulitiple baby daddies who do NOT take care of their children they should be removed from the program or have benefits cut. Why should we have to pay for this. People on these programs should be required to work or go to school for their benefits. 10 yrs ago I applied for stamps after I was out of work 3 months. They made me take classes even though I was waiting to be released from my doctor to return to my job. They were very persistant about it. What happened to this system?

      But I certainly do NOT agree with “Robbing Hoods” version of ‘spreading the wealth around.” We all work hard and have gotten were we are via various methods – MANY via education thus enabling to live a decent life and not struggle. I know I have come far considering I was born in a white “hood” in the north. I believe Obama is lying and will tax ALL OF US!!

      Obama’s $845 billion U.N. plan forwarded to U.S. Senate floor ‘Global Poverty Act’ to cost each citizen $2,500 or more (BILL SECRETLY PUT ON COMMITTEE AGENDA)

      WE NEED TO GET AMERICA BACK ON TRACK AND SHOULD NOT BE SENDING THAT MONEY OVERSEAS. But years back Robbing Hood was given MEGA money from Annenburg Challenge while working with Bill Ayers (in Chi-town). The money was supposed to be for education within Chi’s schools – NEVER made it they funneled the money elsewhere – SEEMS HE HAS A HABIT OF THESE TYPE ACTIONS!! CLEARLY ANOTHER REASON NOT TO TRUST HIM.

    An interesting post (no 48 from comments to Drudge’s headline story)

    Demonstrates the absoulte necessity of McCain winning – so as to reverse the socialist hand-out juggernaut

    HOW LONG DO WE HAVE?

    This is the most interesting thing I’ve read in a long time. The sad thing about it, you can see it coming.

    I have always heard about this democracy countdown. It is interesting to see it in print. God help us, not that we deserve it. (this is transfered info from another comment colume this a.m. but it needs restressing!)

    How Long Do We Have?

    About the time our original thirteen states adopted their new constitution in 1787, Alexander Tyler, a Scottish history professor at the University of Edinburgh , had this to say about the fall of the Athenian Republic some 2,000 years earlier:

    ‘A democracy is always temporary in nature; it simply cannot exist as a permanent form of government.’

    ‘A democracy will continue to exist up until the time that voters discover they can vote themselves generous gifts from the public treasury.’

    ‘From that moment on, the majority always vote for the candidates who promise the most benefits from the public treasury, with the result that every democracy will finally collapse due to loose fiscal policy, which is always followed by a dictatorship.’

    ‘The average age of the world’s greatest civilizations from the beginning of history, has been about 200 years’

    ‘During those 200 years, those nations always progressed through the following sequence:

    1. From bondage to spiritual faith;

    2. From spiritual faith to great courage;

    3. From courage to liberty;

    4. From liberty to abundance;

    5. From abundance to complacency;

    6. From complacency to apathy;

    7. From apathy to dependence;

    8. From dependence back into bondage’

    Professor Joseph Olson of Hemline University School of Law, St. Paul , Minnesota , points out some interesting facts concerning the 2000 Presidential election:

    Number of States won by: Democrats: 19 Republicans: 29

    Square miles of land won by: Democrats: 580,000 Republicans: 2,427,000

    Population of counties won by: Democrats: 127 million Republicans: 143 million

    Murder rate per 100,000 residents in counties won by: Democrats: 13.2 Republicans: 2.1

    Professor Olson adds: ‘In aggregate, the map of the territory Republican won was mostly the land owned by the taxpaying citizens of this great country. Democrat territory mostly encompassed those citizens living in government-owned tenements and living off various forms of government welfare…’ Olson believes the United States is now somewhere between the ‘complacency and apathy’ phase of Professor Tyler’s definition of democracy, with some forty percent of the nation’s population already having reached the ‘governmental dependency’ phase.

    If Congress grants amnesty and citizenship to twenty million criminal invaders called illegal’s and they vote, then we can say goodbye to the USA in fewer than five years.

  • John Smith

    The people in Virginia looked really fired up. I just don’t think there will be a 15 to 20 point swing for the democratic candidate in Virginia. Bush won that state by 9 points or almost 300K votes. In 2004 rep had 39% of the vote and dems had 35%. In 2006 it was 39% rep and 36% dem. So we suppose to believe that the democrats will out number republicans by 5 to 6 points this year? Also the reason Web won the election in Virginia is because of Allen and the fact that he was a navy man.

      You forgot the PUMAs! Most I would imagine are still registered as Democrats! 1/5 or more of Dems are PUMAs!

      • Read my lipstick

        I’m one of those PUMA’s… For all of my voting life, I’ve been registered as an Independent. In March 08, I changed my registration to Dem so I could vote for HRC in the PA primary. I’m waiting until after the election to change back to Independent.

        There’s no way in H-E-double hockey sticks that I would vote for BO.

    Ten people go out to eat on a weekly basis. They take a vote and agree to allocate the cost by what each can afford. The richest person is charged 70% of the bill and the next 4 split the remaining 30% while 5 pay nothing. The four payers believe it is unfair for them to pay since the rich person is making so much and can afford to pay the entire bill so they take a vote and allocate the entire bill the rich person. The rich person pays.

    The following week, the rich person declines the invitation for lunch and the remaining people are stuck with 100% of the bill.

    NY is quickly moving the point where the rich person doesn’t show up.

    NY will get what its voters want.

    It’s just like the bailout plan in a way — reward those who made imprudent decisions, paying for it from the pockets of the tens of millions of families that made prudent decisions.

    Also, some time back Obama stated publicly he might not institute his tax plan while we were in a recession. Wait, what? Was he acknowledging it might stifle economic growth? Of course the crapfantastic media was busy at the time speculating on what miracles the Messiah would perform next.

    • katmandu

      Ah, here it is. It had to do with rescinding the Bush tax cuts:

      http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/09/07/obama-recession-could-delay-end-to-bush-tax-cuts/

      WASHINGTON — Democrat Barack Obama says he would delay rescinding President Bush’s tax cuts on wealthy Americans if he becomes the next president and the economy is in a recession, suggesting such an increase would further hurt the economy.

        “Democrat Barack Obama says” lie, pander, whatever he has to say at a given moment like his switch on nuclear power: “nothing is off the table.” I don’t listen to what he says anymore. Its all bullshit.

          Which is why McCain should have been hammering away on Obama with Ayers, Wright, Rezko, Auchi, etc. If I was McCain I would have made the point over and over and over in the debate that you can’t argue policy with Obama because he will say anything to anybody as long as he perceives it that it’s helping him politically.

          It goes right to the heart of not trusting Obama because you never know what he’ll support on any given day.

    With his 2001 radio speech out it’s pretty much vindicating what I said about Obama giving free loader do nothings like Acorn and welfare receipients based on money taking from the proverbial “white man”.

    They can’t wait to take our 401ks and tax money and using the Obama legislative branch to do what the courts were not able to do for the civil rights movement and take all the social capital away from white and non-black people taxpayers and give it ot the poorest of communities, which also happen to be black, ala reperations-which are extremely favorite by black activists like Obama spiritual advisor and guru Jeremiah Wright (also a black racist) and social aggitators like Bill Ayers.

    You know, redistribution of the wealth to those in need is a great idea, it’s just that right now the only people in need aren’t the homeless (not that they aren’t in need), currently we acould all use a little distribution coming our way. Frankly, we’re just not in the state of economy for that. I mean, I get that we all want a little of Angelina Jolie’s money it’s just we want it. It’s not fundamentely acceptable to walk into the Jolie household and say “Gimme some money you have too much and they have too little.” Now, maybe if the other person happened to be James McAvoy and he had done his work in Wanted (that was oddly the first movie example to come to mind. Odd), but Angelina had received hers and his cut of the salary. Then just maybe that would be acceptable. Or if everyone had more than enough money to begin with then yeah, it would be decent to give a few bucks to the homeless guy now and then. And also,it should be on the perosn who worked for the money’s terms. Not that I’m saying if you have a little extra money not to slip the homeless guy two bucks. But, we really can’t force the people to give them the two bucks, right? We can give them a tremendous guilt trip about it and hope that works, but we can’t send a FBI agent to their house and beat it out of them. Luckily, most extremely rich people, or at least the media figures of them, do give to charities and help out, but I guess all that says is we don’t have to go bust down Oprah’s door.

    I hear tha Obama again change His mind about who will pay higher taxes. Last time was those who will be making over 250000, now it is 200000, next will be 150000,100000,50000….., and then we will receive money from Obama for not paying taxes. We all be paying higher taxes, no metter how much or how little we will be receiving on paycheck.
    He support taxes on over 42000, so there He goes again, another face, another lie. Just keep voting for Him, all those young and educated, You are in line as we are, and You votes only count to win Presidency,You dont count…. not You and YOU and……

    Gave the waiter’s tip to a homeless guy just because the waiter was wearing an Obama shirt. Whether he agrees with Obama or not, this is an appalling thing to do to someone who works for tips. Then again, it strikes me as just the thing a rich Republican would do – or repost and laugh about.

    Way to go… it’s times like this when I feel sorry for the rest of the Republican party, who are honestly trying to reform themselves and are disgusted by such acts.
