Go Megan. The media makes me puke. I still can’t believe Fox is the only one doing their job. I used to hate them. Hey, cudos to Megan. I am really a little freaked by the fact that the media is covering up for Obama so much. It’s creepy already.

I think she is wonderful. She never freezes up and thinks so quick in stressful situations. I would choke up (as I always do) under pressure.

I never watched her before this year because I never watched Fox until this year. Oh what a strange year it has been, I even watch O’Reily!!!!

The audio recording of Barack Obama espousing his socialist philosophy of “redistribution of wealth” is all over the Internet and Fox News today (although most other media outlets are ignoring it), but there’s another disturbing section on that tape that has so far escaped notice.

At about 15:30, Obama compares what was going on in the United States during the time of Brown vs. the Board of Education to … Nazi Germany. Yes, really. Here’s the quote:

“…just to take a, sort of a realist perspective…there’s a lot of change going on outside of the Court, um, that, that judges essentially have to take judicial notice of. I mean you’ve got World War II, you’ve got uh, uh, uh, the doctrines of Nazism, that, that we are fighting against, that start looking uncomfortably similar to what we have going on, back here at home.”

There you have it. America is close to electing a President who compares his own country to Nazi Germany.

Megyn is a lawyer and has quick legal mind. Burton thinks she is a dumb blond, so acts like a dick like all Obama supporters. I loved it. I hoped more media outlets in the last week do the same.

If you had told me a year ago that I’d be watching Fox news and fighting against the Democratic nominee, I’d have said ‘You go to hell!’ Its breathtaking what’s happened to my beloved Democratic party. But its come to this: Obambi/Pelosi/Reid/Brazille/Dean must be defeated and driven from office.

I thought Megyn was fantastic in that clip – Bill Burton is such an a-hole like everyone else in Obama’s campaign. He just repeats the same catchphrases over and over and over. On a side note, I was reading this analysis of McCain’s economic plan versus Obama’s on the Heritage Foundation’s website – they do some pretty nifty economic modeling and analysis to forecast the effects of both candidate’s tax plans. Take a look. The differences are astounding when you look at the charts. John McCain is leaps and bounds ahead of Obama in terms of job creation and economic growth. This is what I’ve been saying for weeks now, that Obama’s tax plan is a disaster for our long term growth – it’s merely a bowl of candy to win the votes of a desperate electorate who seem not to care about the long term effect that candy will have on their teeth.

I’ve just started reading the excellent George Reisman’s epic tome “Capitalism” (also available online as a free pdf) and he brings up a pretty good point – which is that long term economic planning is best left up to individuals and businesses and not politicians, because politicians don’t really care about the long term effects of economic policy beyond the term of their administration. All they care about is making themselves look good and winning popularity in the range of the moment, whereas the individual HAS to think about his or her long term future.

Obama is the range of the moment politician who cares about bribing voters with short term gains. He doesn’t care about our lives in the long run. McCain may not be an economic expert but at least he’s thinking about long term growth, even at the expense of his own popularity. He understands that money is best left in the hands of those who earn it, especially when we’re talking about the most productive in society.

Okay, now McCain-Palin have to start nailing Obama on the death tax. My parents like millions of others of their generation have managed to do ok. They live in the same modest house I was born in, they’re retired and have a fairly comfortable life because they’ve worked hard all of their lives, been frugal, and invested well. They also have a small lakehouse in northern Michigan. Some of the happiest memories of our lives happened at that little place on the lake, and now my young nieces and nephews are enjoying the place as we did when my brother and sister and I were kids. My parents are very fearful that when they die the estate tax is going to force us to sell the place and lose this important family treasure. I think a lot of families are afraid that what they’ve spent their entire lives building will be sucked into a blackhole of taxes.

Maybe McCain needs to put out a new commercial highlighting a situation like this: Barack Obama wants to lower the threshold on the death tax and take what hardworking people–essentially middle class people–have labored their entire lives to put together and then he wants to give it away to others. They could show a cute cottage on a pristine lake, pan camera to show a thirty- or early fortysomething couple next to the cottage with a preschool-aged kid and a baby in the mother’s arms. The dad says to the mom: “Mom and Dad loved this place. They always wanted it to stay in the family so their grandchildren could share the kind of great times we had here growing up.” The camera could start panning again until it lights upon a for-sale sign. The dad says: “But Barack Obama’s death tax stole that dream. With all the taxes the government took from their nest egg, I don’t know if we’ll be able to get enough by selling the place to cover the tax bill.”

don’t confuse being good with being good at talking over people – Megyn talked over Burton, and it didn’t look good. She’s the journalist interviewing a guest – she’s supposed to let -him- talk. Whatever else the interview demonstrated, it demonstrated her lack of professionalism.

Loved the smackdown Megyn gave to Burton. You can tell that he wasn’t used to someone giving him a hard time. We need more of the same!!! Democrat for McCain / Palin. Fight the corrupt DNC and it’s fraud candidate. Expressing anger, disgust or other negative views of Obama and the DNC, but then failing to choose the McCain/Palin ticket is in effect supporting the Democratic ticket. A no vote for McCain is a vote for Obama. Please vote McCain if you are a Democrat. You may not like his policies per se, but as a fellow Democrat, I am totally disgusted with the sham that was the Democratic primary. They need to be taught a lesson. A McCain presidency, although not perfect, will be ten times better than the possible Obamanation. Dissent will be crushed with Obama at the helm. We need to stop him now, not later!

If Obama wins, then we need to adopt the tactics that his supporters used throughout his campaign. Attack, attack, attack, and then attack some more. Never back down. Obama will feel the wrath of all do not support him.

Finally Barack Obama’s core philosophy is out! This 2001 interview states it quite clearly and with no wiggle room. In ADDITION to his desire to seek means to acheive ‘redistributive change’ by the transfer of wealth he is profoundly ambivalent about the constitution itself.

The very purpose of the constitution is to LIMIT THE POWERS OF THE GOVERNMENT. Obama does not agree with the very BASIS of the U.S. Constitution.

If McCain does not use the Whitey Tapes he is going to lose. I appreciated his respect but Obama is a dirty player. He attacked Cindy and the McCain camp did not come out swinging at all.

It is hysterical that you believe anything that Dear Leader says. He changes his positions on the issues like most of us change our socks. But apparently he has consistently believed in “redistributing the wealth”.

Now if Obama were an honest politician with a consistent message it would not be that important if he mentioned redistributing the wealth in passing. However, he has proved himself to be a liar over and over again.

So when Obama mentions redistributing the wealth I find it rather disturbing. And then combine that belief of his with all the powers that Bush gave to himself such as spying on anyone and everyone without a warrant. Not a pretty picture.

If Sen. Obama were to use the increased taxes to pay down some of our national debt, I could probably buy into that. However, he is either going to give it as rebates to that 40% who currently do not pay taxes or use it as part of the funding mechanism for some of his approx. $1 trillion in new programs.

Frankly, with his past associations and his flip flops on so many issues from his stands in the primary, I would not be at all surprised if he used it to institute some Billy Ayres educational plan that was so ‘successful’ in Chicago!

30% of the population who do not pay any taxes will DIRECTLY be getting money from the government. The amount is estimated to be 60 billion dollars. That 60 billion will come from DIRECTLY increasing taxes on those already paying taxes. This is a direct transfer of wealth.

Agree with your point about a progressive tax system. However, have you any statistics about how many small businesses, or shutting their doors completely, will be laying off employees because of the increased taxes coupled with the health insurance costs they will need to be picking up? I have read a few blogs where owners of small businesses have indicated that they would lay off an employee, or two or three, and probably increase their prices so they can continue to make they consider to be a reasonable return on their investment in their business.

Personally, I much prefer deciding which charities I which to contribute to and how much I wish to give each of them. Giving increased taxes to people who would rather not work for it (welfare)does not appeal to me at all as the way such monies should be used. My first priority would be to apply it against our national debt.

It was in fact the result of the technology boom, which Reagan’s marginal tax rate cuts a decade earlier stimulated initially, which fueled massive risk-taking and capital investment in the private sector.

Such risk-takers and entrepreneurs such as Bill Gates and Jerry Yang aided the 90′s economic boom despite the Clinton tax hikes, not because of them.

The only pieces of legislation that stimulated the economy during Clinton’s years were welfare reform and the lowering of the capital gains tax in 1998 – both however were sponsored by the GOP Congress.

I cannot say this enough. Tax hikes will NEVER be the cause of economic growth. Forced wealth redistribution will NEVER be the cause of economic growth. Economic freedom will always result in growth in the long term.
