WORM WORM WORM (what obama really meant)

Watching the news coverage yesterday, as the Obama team hit the airwaves, WORMING all over the place, trying to explain his latest unearthed video, something dawned on me, and kind of freaked me out.

What is going to happen IF Obama is elected president? Are the WORMS going to have to go into overdrive? Will Obama have a special committee of WORMers?

What will happen if he has a meeting with someone like Ahmadinejad, and they are over heard discussing Obama’s book, where he wrote: “I will stand with them, (Muslims) should the political winds of war shift in an ugly direction.”

Will the WORMers scurry out behind him, screaming WORM WORM WORM?

worm-obama.jpg

What will happen if once he is President, and the LA Times releases the video they have of Obama, celebrating with a group of Palestinians who are openly hostile towards Israel. Barack Obama even gives a toast to a former PLO operative at this celebration.

Will the WORMers scurry out behind him, screaming WORM WORM WORM?

What will happen, if during a meeting with the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Obama is informed of a conflict between, say… Georgia and Russia, in which Russia attacked Georgia, and Obama launches an attack on Georgia?

Will his minions scurry behind him, screaming WORM WORM WORM?

What happens if Obama is president and, while visiting a foreign head of state, say…in Iceland, and then prattles on and on about how lovely the rolling green hills of Ireland are? (don’t kid yourself, the guy thinnks he visited 57 states, and never remembered where the heck he was)

Will his handlers scurry behind him, yelling WORM WORM WORM?

What will happen if Obama is President, and is in a meeting with, say the leader of Israel, and slips and says something about his Muslim faith?

Will George Stephanopoulos come running into the room, screaming WORM WORM WORM!

I ask, because I have YET to hear Obama go off script, and NOT have to have one of his supporters follow up with a WORM. Hell, even the media does it.

The Obama camp, liberal media and blogs clean up for him constantly, over his comments on socialism, taxes, his supporters not voting for Hillary spreading the wealth, his relentless race card playing, the five dollar bill comments, his flip flops on guns, FISA, abortion, withdrawal from Iraq, healthcare, his bitter, clinging to guns comments… Constantly. (And as I am writing this, Andrea Mitchell is on Morning Joe, WORMing for Obama. When did it become the job of reporters to WORM for a candidate? What is happening?

Any time he goes off script, and works without a teleprompter. He lies about the most obvious things, and constantly gets busted, by youtube, or old news stories. And then his supporters flood the networks screaming WORM WORM WORM!

It happens so often, it is a running joke, and it is even an online game.

I just find it quite frightening that a gaffe master like Obama (and his sidekick Biden Gaffetastic), who can’t seem to speak without a teleprompter, is already writing his inauguration speech.

Will he need a WORM for that, too?

  • Ani

They both will need a huge team of WORMers — and as their “freedom of (irresponsible and untruthful) speech” increases, ours will diminish.

He can bear no criticism. This was obvious back in January just by watching his demeanor on the debate stage. It has only gotten worse with time and power (i.e., turning the entire DNC and media thugs into his playthings).

    Great post, AmGirl…

    • Miss H

If Obama is elected President, talk radio and other dissenters will be locked down via the “fairness doctrine”. If you dare to question THE ONE, you will be sent for psychiatric evaluation or worse. Can you say “re-education camp”!

  • AnninCA

Early on in the primaries, I noted the WORM game. I felt it was damaging to our country and still do.

My take on this type of political activity is that it teaches the entire country to lie. It’s dangerous in more ways than just an election.

I noticed that Hillary was extremely careful, with a couple of slips, to remain transparent. Obama was bold. He denied the race memo in SC. He denied *winking* on NAFTA, even though he was again caught red-handed. The most recent example was denying that Biden said what he said about being attacked.

When people are manipulated into denying reality, then that’s dangerous. They get “foggy.” It’s a dysfunctional communications paradigm and leads to abuse of power.

Obama has managed to get by with this with the press.

And, no….the tough-talk of the Florida reporter isn’t the antidote. She fell into the “label” trap. Isn’t this Marxist does NOT combat the real issue.

A truly tough interview simply brings the question back to the facts being denied.

That way…people are reassured, “Oh, I’m not crazy after all. I DID hear him say that.”

He has yet to say, simply: “I was wrong to say that.”

Hillary did. McCain knows how to do it.

    Obama does not.

And that, to me, is far more threatening than old associations or Michelle’s youthful thesis.

Tonight at 8, please watch Pushing Daisies!
I know you won’t watch Obama, make your time count – in the ratings – and reward the network that – at least tonight said “No” to Obama. The show is also great!

Can I assume that the hypnomercial is on at the same time all over – meaning 8:00 EDT and 5:00 PDT? ‘Cause those of us on the west coast will just be on our way home from work and will, I guess, have to miss the precious – lol.

Most of us should be home by 6:00, though, to catch Mac on Larry King. And yes, watch Pushing Daisies at 8:00.

Obama has effectively used denial over and over. That is why, in my opinion, Joe the Plumber was such a game-changer.

We all felt a bit nuts. We watched Obama deny his own actions/words, twist them in pretzel-like fashion, and supposed educated people buy the new explanation. Those same people called everyone else stupid.

Joe the Plumber didn’t just strip Obama on his tax plan. He stripped the media’s clothes off too. The “regular folks” who know politicians will say most anything to get a vote and who pay attention to things like flip-flopping too much, outrageous promises, contradictions between actions and words….in short, mature voters….breathed a huge sigh of relief.

If Joe gets it, then we’re still OK. He spoke for alot of us who simply couldn’t understand how this game of denial was being allowed to play out so successfully. The standards for transparency in campaign politics had sunk to an all-time low with Obama.

    Joe raised the bar.

Tell the truth or recognize that Joe and the majority of us will know….you’re full of beans.

    • Annie Oakley

Uh oh. Joe raised the bar? Higher? No wonder they’ve got You Owe Mechelle under wraps.

I followed the link you offered to buttress your contentions about the Big New Obama Video, but was left with only laughter. Wow, you get your “news” from Gateway Pundit?

Here’s some more of what he said in the same piece:

Gateway Pundit: More on Bill Ayers at the Khalidi Dinner: I talked with someone familiar with Khalidi’s going away dinner today. Ayers and Dohrn signed the commemorative booklet. There are rumors that they were at the dinner. There are also rumors that they sat with the Obamas but this has not been confirmed.

WOW! Great piece! Keep ‘em coming! Keep laughter alive!

    • http://americanpumainitaly.blogspot.com/ sarainitaly

Then perhaps you would prefer these news sources.

      http://www.latimes.com/news/politics/la-na-video29-2008oct29,0,7568849.story

“”The Los Angeles Times did not publish the videotape because it was provided to us by a confidential source who did so on the condition that we not release it,” said the newspaper’s editor, Russ Stanton. “The Times keeps its promises to sources.”

      http://elections.foxnews.com/2008/10/28/la-times-refuses-release-tape-obama-praising-controversial-activist/

Why don’t you try discussing the topic at hand, instead of insulting the messenger? Typical.

Your guy is busted, and all you can do is insult me for linking to a web site that you don’t like. I linked to that site because they had written a post, providing many links to information.

Why don’t you spend some time, and go google what LA Times is saying about their refusal to release the tape.

      • kgirl1028

The people at the LA times must think everybody in america is dumb as hell. Those of us not intoxicated with Koolaid realize that, who the hell would hve a tape to a news paper so it won’t be released. You have got to be kiding me. My God! that is such a George W Bush-esq lie. you know lies that are so obvious and blatant a toddler would call you a liar. THe media is the last person on earth you tell when you want a secret kept. They won’t reveal their sources but they will reveal your business. Dumb as hell!

        • AnninCA

Journalists never have released their source material.

They’ll go to jail, even, before doing that.

          The Courts can’t force it.

          And neither can you.

If the author promised confidentiality, then the author will stick to that….and the LA TIMES isn’t such a rag that it won’t back the reporter on this one.

This is a basic journalism 101 deal.

You break that word? Nobody will ever talk to you again. Period.

So your motive is to have some kind of great October surprise. The reporter’s motive is to continue to have sources for news.

          Rock, scissors, paper…..reporter wins.

          • csuzeq

Well, the fun thing about this story is that maybe the LA Times doesn’t have to realease the video, but the public can then ask Obama to demand that the LA Times release the video and then we get to ask why he is so afraid of it coming out. Oh, yes, I know he won’t ask for it’s release and he will pretend he’s not afraid of it, but the problem is that a good majority of Americans have common sense and can reason, Hmmmmmm, if there is nothing damaging on the tape, why not release it? Then they imagine probably worse than what is actually on the tape.

I think this story works with or without the actual tape!

            • AnninCA

              BINGO……

And that is why the reporter sleeps just fine.

          • Urban Hillbilly

            NOT TRUE, ANN!

Journalists do not reveal their SOURCES. If the source is revealed in the tape, the tape should be edited to, in effect, “redact” the source.

          • avwrobel

Follow the logic AnninCa. The L.A. Times has a duty and obligation to print a transcript of that dinner video. If they won’t do that the reporter should never have accepted it. As far as October surprise, the battle is to get as much info re: Obama out as possible so people can make an informed judgement about him. Supporters like you who want to suppress damaging info are no better than Bush supporters.

          • kgirl1028

They will not release information about a source but the informaiton it’s self is fair game

          • Animal Control

Journalists never have released their source material

You know not of what you write. Confidentiality of the source not of the material, you dolt!

      • Lizzie Struthers

The Los Angeles Times did not publish the videotape because it was provided to us by a confidential source who did so on the condition that we not release it

I call bullshit. Why release to a major outlet on the primary condition it not be used? That’s just total unadulterated bullshit.

        • Animal Control

I agree with your call. Furthermore they could provide a full transcript and let the people decide.

sarainitaly writes: Your guy is busted, and all you can do is insult me for linking to a web site that you don’t like. I linked to that site because they had written a post, providing many links to information.

Busted in what way, exactly? This is merely a rehash of a story that is several months old about a farewell dinner for Khalid that is several years old, and again, reinforces Obama’s desire for reconciliation in the conflict between Israelis and Palestines.

As the original article grudgingly admits after noting the many comments of those critical of Israel:

Obama adopted a different tone in his comments and called for finding common ground.

        Wow, totally, busted.

And this isn’t about whether or not I despise or like the websites you’ve linked to– this is about the credibility, or lack of it, of those sites. And it is about your desperate resort to them in pathetic attempt to paint the scary negro running for president as something to be afraid of.

You are joined in this endeavor by, among others, the ridiculous “Ace of Spades”, whose website I imagine you are a stalwart reader of, who hopefully offers a reward of twenty-five thousand dollars to disgruntled Times employees willing to cough up the tape.

No, not that tape, the other tape. No, not that other tape, the other, other tape. You know, the big tape! And on and on and on.

Jesus Christ, don’t you realize how foolish you look?

    • Leisa

Why do you view Obama’s lies and associations and the media cover up as funny? Will you be laughing when blogs such as those you laugh at, because they question the one and are ringing a warning bell, are shut down and free speech is squelched?

Will you be laughing when America is changed for the common good, and everything you grew up taking for granted is now out of reach?

Oh, right, you are one of those who think that democracy is sacrosanct and infallible. Nothing will assail our democratic republic in your mind…

America will never be destroyed from the outside. If we falter and lose our freedoms, it will be because we destroyed ourselves.

How Barack Obama learned to love Israel
Ali Abunimah, The Electronic Intifada, 4 March 2007

Over the years since I first saw Obama speak I met him about half a dozen times, often at Palestinian and Arab-American community events in Chicago including a May 1998 community fundraiser at which Edward Said was the keynote speaker. In 2000, when Obama unsuccessfully ran for Congress I heard him speak at a campaign fundraiser hosted by a University of Chicago professor. On that occasion and others Obama was forthright in his criticism of US policy and his call for an even-handed approach to the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.

The last time I spoke to Obama was in the winter of 2004 at a gathering in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood. He was in the midst of a primary campaign to secure the Democratic nomination for the United States Senate seat he now occupies. But at that time polls showed him trailing.

As he came in from the cold and took off his coat, I went up to greet him. He responded warmly, and volunteered, “Hey, I’m sorry I haven’t said more about Palestine right now, but we are in a tough primary race. I’m hoping when things calm down I can be more up front.” He referred to my activism, including columns I was contributing to the The Chicago Tribune critical of Israeli and US policy, “Keep up the good work!”
Obama has also been close to some prominent Arab Americans, and has received their best advice. His decisive trajectory reinforces a lesson that politically weak constituencies have learned many times: access to people with power alone does not translate into influence over policy. Money and votes, but especially money, channelled through sophisticated and coordinated networks that can “bundle” small donations into million dollar chunks are what buy influence on policy. Currently, advocates of Palestinian rights are very far from having such networks at their disposal. Unless they go out and do the hard work to build them, or to support meaningful campaign finance reform, whispering in the ears of politicians will have little impact. (For what it’s worth, I did my part. I recently met with Obama’s legislative aide, and wrote to Obama urging a more balanced policy towards Palestine.)

If disappointing, given his historically close relations to Palestinian-Americans, Obama’s about-face is not surprising. He is merely doing what he thinks is necessary to get elected and he will continue doing it as long as it keeps him in power. Palestinian-Americans are in the same position as civil libertarians who watched with dismay as Obama voted to reauthorize the USA Patriot Act, or immigrant rights advocates who were horrified as he voted in favor of a Republican bill to authorize the construction of a 700-mile fence on the border with Mexico.

Only if enough people know what Obama and his competitors stand for, and organize to compel them to pay attention to their concerns can there be any hope of altering the disastrous course of US policy in the Middle East. It is at best a very long-term project that cannot substitute for support for the growing campaign of boycott, divestment and sanctions needed to hold Israel accountable for its escalating violence and solidifying apartheid.

great article, do you all remember during the primaries, in an interview with Senator and Mrs. Obama. He was asked why he is running for President after such a short time as a US Senator. Michelle responded that this election was his 1 and only chance. I often wondered what she meant by that, However, I now understand. They know the truth about him will come out during this, and he will never be running for any office again (which is good since he is one of those do-nothing Senators). How can anyone believe Obama’s ad that says change doesn’t come from Washington, change comes to Washington? He is more corrupt in less than 3 yrs as a Senator than most of the others.

  • IronMan

Sarah Palin about to give major policy speech in Ohio on American Energy Security.

America achieving energy independence will not only help the economy, but it will help improve our national security.

I like the all of the above approach from McCain-Palin to help get us off our dependence of foreign oil and oil in general.

Her major policy speech last week about children with special needs was wonderful.

  • Shiloh

There are many factors that persuade me that McCain is actually taking the lead at this point. There is one other I wonder about:

We all realize the polls to varying extents are skewed to Obama for a variety of reasons. But pollsters have to care about their reputation and their accuracy, right? Well who looks back at how wrong polls were a month or even a week before the election? No-one. Pollsters are accountable only for their final polls. So I wonder if even those pollster who are in the tank so deeply for Obama will, in the final days, bring their polls more in line with what they know is the reality on the ground. I think they will and this is yet another problem looming on the near horizon for THAT ONE.

  • AnninCA

Anyway, I think your article is onto a very good topic.

The latest..denying what everyone heard from Biden…was just the latest.

This is manipulation that is dangerous. It creates a kind of crazy-making atmosphere in the country, where everyone just shuts down.

That is not what we need. We need a LOT of straight talk after the Bush years to move forward.

    We do NOT need WORM.

So thanks for the topic. It’s been on my mind alot.

    Obama’s unsavory ties
Oct. 27, 2008 Daniel Pipes, THE JERUSALEM POST

    http://www.jpost.com/servlet/Satellite?cid=1225036822047&pagename=JPost%2FJPArticle%2FShowFull

“One watches with dismay as Democratic candidate Barack Obama manages to hide the truth on his longstanding, if indirect ties to two institutions: the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), listed by the US government in 2007 as an unindicted co-conspirator in a Hamas-funding trial; and the Nation of Islam (NoI), condemned by the Anti-Defamation League for its “consistent record of racism and anti-Semitism.”

“That Obama’s biography touches so frequently on such unsavory organizations as CAIR and the Nation of Islam should give pause. How many of politicians have a single tie to either group, much less seven of them?”

  • AnninCA

Back to the actual topic…..I am really glad to see the subject matter.

I think this type of denial is a particularly insidious form of manipulation, where people are requested to pretend they don’t see reality.

Obama’s tactics, such as he recently used with Biden’s remarks, requires his supporters to deny truth. That’s a bit “alcoholic.” That’s no different than the elephant in the living room metaphor, if you have ever heard of that one.

    That’s dysfunctional.

What’s ironic is that he seemed to have a goal to “heal our souls.” Yet his style is highly dysfunctional, in truth.

He excuses this, no doubt, by virtue of having to campaign. He blames his opponents for bringing him down. However, that’s another lie. He had been bashing McCain with none-too-subtle ageist remarks for a month before McCain finally unleashed Sarah to bring up Ayers, etc. So again, this business of denial is quite serious.

The reason people feel “stupid” for backing McCain and aren’t willing to talk to pollsters even is due to this tactic.

The elephant is in the living room, but nobody is allowed to say that.

“I Demand More Than Your Vote–I Want Your Mind!!”–A Call to Boycott Obama’s Media Buy (10/29)

WHY? Because there are techniques being used to reel in people via the emotions and suggestibility and techniques like “anchoring”…that’s why!

    • Shiloh

I’m not the least bit worried about these mind control techniques. The voters that count now are the undecideds and they are by nature very skeptical. They are not going to be affected by any of that mumbo jumbo. I have a graduate degree in psychology, have studied NLP and other persuasion techniques. If you could get voters to watch a video two minutes before they vote it “might” have an impact. Otherwise not to worry.

      • Liz B

ssshhhhh! don’t say that out loud or the Obots will report it to their master, and we will have streaming Obama infomercials inside all the polling places with Election officials blissfully ignoring any protest.

    • lisa in va

I have to say, I read the article…pretty confusing for the layperson; so I won’t talk about it.

What I will say is that it makes us look like loons to the undecided outsider that happens to stumble upon our website.

The o’bots will eat it up. The Repubs are not going to waste 30 minutes of their time watching O’blahblah; nor will the independents who have already decided.

And any type of “effect” the process might have will disappear in the voting booth. Why? Because, if most people are like me & I think they are, when they get into the booth, they are very careful about marking the ballet…pausing and making extra careful that the correct box is marked. They aren’t going to mark the most important box (maybe of their lives) because of some power of suggestion over the tv, from some guy they have never met in real life, 6 days later. I’m sorry, I don’t buy it.

I’m sorry. People aren’t that stupid. Not with the important stuff. Thats why I’m not worried about this election. McCain will win hands down, there is a good chance (at least electorially) that Mc will clean up the floor with O’blahblah. Why? Because when it comes down to the important question, in the privacy of the poll booth, Americans vote with their wallets, their hearts and their fears. And we fear the unknown.

Imho, the only chance Obama ever had was if the Repubs were demoralized stayed home and PUMA’s wrote in Hillary. Neither is going to happen. Palin re-energized the base and PUMA’s organized. That was Obama’s fatal error…underestimating the millions of hard core, politically active, articulate Hillary supporters. I still don’t know what they hell they were thinking (Obama, Pelosi, Dean, Reid & Brazilnut). Complete idiots…the lot of them. And especially because they are so dumb, I don’t want them anywhere near running our country or handling our foreign policy.

  • Shiloh

Why would a “confidential source” give a video to LA Times on condition that it not be released? What would be the motive? Why give it to them at all? That just isn’t believable. It’s just the best LAT can come up with to justify their suppressing important information that will be detrimental to their candidate.

    • AnninCA

My guess is that the LA TIMES would name the source.

This is the year when normal people are sometimes afraid to talk to pollsters for fear they will be harassed.

I keep asking this. But this was a public affair. Why is there only 1 tape?

If so, it can’t even be validated.

      • Shiloh

What do you mean? The LAT has said they will not name the source or release the tape. And we don’t know that there is only one tape. I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see it released from a source other than LAT.

        • bemused

How can they release the tape now without showing how complicit they were in skewing coverage? Zell put himself in a bad spot here, whatever happens the LAT is going to lose credibility. (laughs up sleeve)

        • AnninCA

          Thank you! That’s my point.

Find the tape from a different source was my point!

If it’s that big of a story…..if not. Then this is really just a distraction story.

Or maybe I’m wrong and there’s not a public tape.

I guess I’m sick of the whole “secret tape” story meme.

          It strikes me as sick.

    • McHope

Yes, they had not used this excuse until talking heads on TV yesterday gave them the idea. It is extremely odd to avoid producing it because of the source when they have NOT revealed a source.
As someone commented earlier, if anything on the tape reveals the source, they can remove or blackout such footage.

Could be true, but you could bring in a boatload of stylistic experts and still not make this into a real story.

I believe in my heart that some brave soul is going to buy out CNN and Msnbc and start over again with these station. Because I believe in my heart they will see the damage they have done by not reporting the “real” news. I seldom watch anything in these station, but, when Fox starts to do some koolaid drinking themselves, I change the station and when I get to CNN, it is so disgusting seeing Caverity Files dirty shirt guy foaming at the mouth speaking badly of Palin. He couldn’t help himself with Hillary- it was bash, bash, bash and now Palin. This guy looks like the kind of guy that slaps women around while holding a bottle of liquor in his hand at night. He looks like the kind of guy that takes out his belt and beats his kids. How CNN has lost their fine reputation with these type of people is beside me. Anderson was such a great guy, and a great reporter. I believe he was the only one that really sound like a journalist, but, under pressure has to sip the koolaid too. The wolf guy needs to get back his reputation too, because no one has respect for him. The entire crew need to be fired and CNN should get back their honor again. MSNBC should have a funeral for themselves, because they are dead with the majority of conversative and moderate people. Tucker was fired probably because he was too conservative and wouldn’t sip the Koolaid. He should be given a job back in CNN and let him level the station again. The only one that was decent was Pat B on Msnbc and he is sounding more like a koolaid sipper due to pressure. I bet his conservative wife gives him a sip of Johnny Walker before he gets on MSNBC to lie about Palin or Mccain.

The MSM was in the tank for the Iraq war. Now they are in the tank for Der Precious. I hope your fantasy of reform takes place but I doubt it. After Der Precious loses they will lament on mistakes they made and go about the business of continuing to being tools of corporate execs. What’s next on their agenda? Who the fark knows.

      • AnninCA

I think their biggest problem is that they really don’t have any news staff. Their news is off of the AP, and that organization has fallen apart this year.

Then they have the analysts shows, which are partisan by design.

        That’s all they offer.

NPR is weak. Fox is skewed, too.

There is no major news outlet today healthy enough to offer what everyone is asking for. They are all tanked, due to the economy.

Well, sort of…..gotta pay those huge bonuses to the MBAs who took over years ago, right?

Just a small story. The LA TIMES used to hire people with liveable salaries who did NOTHING but copyedit one, maybe two stories per day. Seriously.

It was known for its long and windy stories. Yes, it won Pulitzers on occasion. But the readers (me) suffered the price. Lordy, those articles were long.

It was in dire need of a hatchet man.

They did whack the staff. It was needed. They also are finally getting into the internet. Also needed.

The point I’m striving for here is that the internet has truly challenged the traditional news outlets.

Some will survive the change. Others will not.

        MSN……I don’t think so.

    • Kal

They have no ‘fine reputation.’ They rolled over for Bush v Gore and the Iraq invasion. What is there to reclaim or rebuild? That Brown guy was the last honest voice on that station, and all the others are just paid mouthpieces.

  • John Smith

Just as I have suspected the pollsters are starting to narrow their polls. McCain is now only 3 points behind Obama in the latest Rasmussen Reports.

    • http://JohnMcCain.com Galt, Master Thrall of Planet Triskelion

Fark those evil bastard pollsters. There was another thread and the topic of state polls came up. I just wrote this:

State polls are always way behind [the national polls]. Best thing to do is keep fighting for the poll result you want and not let the current polls dictate your current behavior.

Look at it this way: two armies are at war. Both armies generals tell their troops “stay focused, we will win!” In the end one army loses. But for that to happen both sets of troops have to believe they can win. Are troops issued poll results?

I let Rove and the pundits worry about polls.

      • John Smith

I agree with you. I just have been saying for a while that the Pollsters will narrow the polls as it gets closer to the election. You will see McCain ahead in the next 3 to 4 days.

I think this ” spread the wealth around ” and one govt argument seem working for us.

I had one woman I talked with, she told me she is very much worried about this spread the wealth . She doesn’t really care about Ayer. I told her the story . She didn’t buy it at all. She even asked me why he is a professor?

Let us stick and spread the news about this ” spread the wealth ” , one govt and socialist. Forget all the rest. It is not working this year

Uh, what does WORM mean? I musta missed something.

And in other news –it’s starting to leak out. This site has two quotes from the Khalidi tape by someone they consider reliable who has seen it. No wonder Obama doesn’t want it out. But since when has the LA Times become our Nanny and Obama’s protector?

LA Times is full of shit. Someone provided them the tape under the condition they not release it?? then why the hell even give it to them-what are they supposed to do w it, stick it up their ass?? This tape would finish Obama. How dare the LA Times put our country at risk-HOW DARE THEY.

    • AnninCA

Seriously? They always protect their sources.

      This is not unusual.

      • Urban Hillbilly

Ann, I responded to a similar comment of your up above.

What you are contending is simply not true.

Journalists do not have to reveal their SOURCES. If the source is revealed in the tape, the tape should be edited to, in effect, “redact” the source.

        • AnninCA

Journalists make deals for source information.

Now, I don’t want to pull anything here, but I was married to the head of a journalism dept that pumps out national journalists for 18 years….and although I personally was a corporate gal, I do know my journalism 101.

But I bow out of this debate.

The LA TIMES is in deep trouble for bigger reasons than this snafu.

Years and years of excessive spending has them on the ropes.

Like the NY TIMES, this is another icon of journlism that is going down in flames. Their base of actual subscribers is shrinking.

Be honest. How many of you actually get a daily newspaper these days?

          Ad revenue……falling like a stone.

Heck, Craig’s List blew them out on want ads.

McCain can clamour away. I still say, this is a sidebar story, at best.

McCain is closing the deal based on taxes and raising questions about Obama and what he REALLY will be like as a leader.

          To me?

It all goes back to Bill Clinton’s assertion in the SC primary.

Obama is a “pig in a poke.”

          In short……he’s a big ? for voters.

I think McCain has raised this ? very effectively.

To me, that’s all that matters.

I disagree with all of you on demanding the tape. That’s OK.

What IS important is that McCain is raising ?s.

If y’all want a dose of heavy irony, go to today’s Boston Globe and read the expose on Mass. state Senator Dianne Wilkerson. They are outraged and shocked that a person who promised to make things better for the poor and oppressed is – horrors – corrupt. If you want to know what it’ll be like under BO, look at what’s happening in Massachusetts now.

  • Tey

Guys, Don’t be annoyed too much. I was crying all the year but couldn’t help. I am really hurting myself.

All MSM are in tank of Obama. Be optimistic about the outcome and hope we get what we want. Americans are smarter than MSM.

We tried all things but it seems it is not working.

Let us staring fight against MSM. Let us screwed them.

Never watch MSM including Fox. We must punish them. Don’t go to their Website like on NYT, washington post, etc

  • C.S.

Will a team of Worm-ers be on call after Soertoro/Obama is selected president?

No. I don’t think they’ll even bother with “corrections” because, as we all know, impeachment won’t be “on the table” and our members of Congress and the Senate don’t really care what we say because, according to at least one Federal Judge, We the People have “no standing” anyhow.

  • postmaster

If the confidential source gave the video to the LA Times and asked that it not be released, then why is the LA Times even talking about it? Journalism 101, Anninca does not apply to any of the big newspapers….bunch of liars and using their power to whip the American people into the sheeples they want us to be. This is so incredibly stupid. Whatever happened to the media just giving the news, speaking the truth?

Still trying to link my sources.
How Barack Obama learned to love Israel
Ali Abunimah, The Electronic Intifada, 4 March 2007

If I am not badly mistaken Rashid Khalidi is now known as Edward Siad.

Khalidi is currently the Edward Said professor of Arab Studies at Columbia. A pro-Palestinian activist, he has been a fierce critic of American foreign policy and of Israel, which he has accused of establishing an “apartheid system” of government. The PLO advocate helped facilitate negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians in the early ’90s, but he has denied he was ever an employee of the group, contradicting accounts
in the New York Times and Washington Times.

This must be one helluva tape. Who cares about the editor of the LA Times and his fake excuses. There must be someone with access who has the guts to make a copy and show it to us, the people who will vote in just 6 days and need all of the info we can get.
