The Utterly Immature Naïf

superman.jpg

One wonders how Barack Obama will solidify relations of trust with our allies abroad when Nicolas Sarzoky, the French President who presided over a joint press conference with Barack Obama on the subject of Iran in July, characterized Obama’s foreign policy stances and formulations to Isreali foreign officials as “utterly immature,” “empty of content,” “very problematic,” “arrogantly” ignorant and “not crystallized.” Certainly he will not have the power to mobilize the support required to stabilize the Middle East if European leaders dismiss him as a hopeless and hapless naïf of foreign policy, and certainly he will exacerbate our already strained relations with France and other countries if the leaders of those states regard Obama, the American naïf, as not only vague but also recklessly supercilious.

Prompting Sarkozy’s scathing assessment of Obama’s foreign policy is Obama’s desire to engage with Iran without preconditions. This stance is of concern to Sarkozy and other European powers, for Germany and the countries representing the five permanent members of the UN Security Council, or the United Kingdom, the United States, the Russian Federation, China and France, presently comprise a united front whose goal is to prevent the development of nuclear arms in Iran. Unilateral action by Obama can and probably will compromise the power these countries wield over Iran, and it will certainly give Iran the impression that the sanctions already imposed by the Security Council can be flouted. This explains why Sarkozy uses the adjectives “problematic” and “immature” when he discusses Obama’s foreign policy.

Also not to be ignored is Sarkozy’s use of the adverb “arrogantly.” The United States, we recall, already ignored the United Nations once this decade with its illegal and unwarranted invasion of Iraq. Will not another unilateral act outside the agreement forged by the permanent members of United Nations Security Council and Germany rekindle all the resentment that has weakened our power and influence abroad? Obama should understand this. After all, he is the Chair of the Subcommittee of European Affairs of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. But because he chose not to convene any policy hearings as Chair of the Subcommittee of European Affairs, he fails to comprehend the importance of maintaining amicable relations with our European allies now that the United States is economically and politically vulnerable on the international stage.

According to French intelligence, Iran is already in possession of 40 percent of the enriched uranium required to create a nuclear bomb. Any breakdown of negotiations between the Big 5, Germany and Iran will have dire consequences for the Middle East, especially for the country of Isreal, a country Ahmadinejad hopes to “wipe off the map.” What if unilateral negotiations with Iran without preconditions fail? How will Obama respond? How will he seize control over a country that is well on its way to building the next nuclear bomb? Because Obama has not even entertained this possibility, Sarkozy dismisses the American naïf‘s various pronouncements as “not crystallized.” And the only explanation Sarkozy can probably muster for the American naïf who believes one can contemptuously disregard the Big 5 and Germany and negotiate willy nilly with Iran is that his mind is “empty of content.” For once I agree with Nicolas Sarkozy.

Sarkozy is not the only person abroad who has concerns about Obama’s proposed foreign policy stance with Iran. According to Ynetnews, 52.5% of Isrealis believe McCain possesses the requisite skills to deal with the security threat Iran poses to Israel. Compare this number to the paltry 27.6% of Israelis who are confident that Obama is prepared.

I guess Joe Biden is correct when he warns:

Mark my words. It will not be six months before the world tests Barack Obama like they did John Kennedy. The world is looking.

Yes, the world is looking: France and Israel are gazing at us with worried eyes, while Iran is monitoring us with the hope that we will fumble and elect the utterly immature and naïve Barack Obama.

Those words by Sarkozy are stunning. Why wasn’t that a big story in July? It’s not surprising, but that should have been a loud warning sign. I have said all along, that his combined inexperience and arrogance are not just a problem but dangerous. The idea that people would substitute one inexperienced and arrogant leader for another, after what we’ve witnessed the past 8 years, is appalling. And Biden is right about one thing: the aggressors are watching closely, and they know a pushover when they see one. It will actually invite aggression. Obama thinks everything can be solved by talk, because that’s all he does, but there are leaders/countries that are looking for a political and economic advantage, and if they see weakness, they will exploit it.

I heard about the French president’s comments on the news this afternoon and laughed out loud.

As for this photo op Obama took with Superman — my gut feeling is that he indeed thinks he’s Superman and is totally clueless as to what lies ahead for the next president.

He’s surrounded himself with people who idolize him, he has the press fawning all over him, and he is making the one mistake that is bad news for all of us …

Obama now believes his own hyped up press, that’s how big his ego is.

With each passing day I see Obama as the the Democrat version of GW Bush — arrogant and oblivious to reality.

And I hate to say it — with Obama’s screwed up idea of foreign policy and pro-PLO advisors, he may well be even a worse president than GW Bush.

We can’t keep electing the candidate we’d like to have a glass of Wine/Beer with — it’s killing our country.

  • Susan1968

Random guy — saw a post from one of your co-workers at the O-camp. Can you confirm any of the following? Quote:

We pay people and organize people to go to all the online sites and “play the part of a clinton or mccain supporter who just switched our support for obama.”

We do this to stifle your motivation and to destroy your confidence.

We did this the whole primary and it worked.

Sprinkle in mass vote confusion and it becomes bewildering. Most people lose patience and just give up on their support of a candidate and decide to just block out tv, news, websites, etc.

This surprisingly has had a huge suppressing movement and vote turnout issues.

Next, we infiltrate all the blogs and all the youtube videos and overwhelm the voting, the comments, etc. All to continue this appearance of overwhelming world support.

People makes posts to the effect that the world has “gone mad”

Thats the intention. To make you feel stressed and crazy and feel like the world is ending.

We have also had quite a hand in skewing many many polls, some we couldn’t control as much as we would have liked. But many we have spoiled over. Just enough to make real clear politics look scarey to a mccain supporter. Its worked, alough the goal was to appear 13-15 points ahead.

see, the results have been working. People tend to support a winner, go with the flow, become “sheeple”

The polls are roughly 3-5 points in favor of Barack. Thats due to our inflation of the polls and pulling in the sheeple.

Our donors, are the same people who finance the MSM. Their interests are tied, Barack then tends to come across as teflon. Nothing sticks. And trust, there were meetings with Fox news. The goal was to blunt them as much as possible. Watch Bill Oreilly he has become much more diplomatic and “fair and balanced” and soft. Its because he wants to retain the #1 spot on cable news and to do that he has to have access to the Obama campaign and we worked hard at stringing him a long and keeping him soft for an interview swap. It worked and now he is anticipating more access. So he is playing it still soft.

    This is why nothing sticks.

The operation is massive, the goal is to paint a picture that is that of a winner, regardless of the results.

There is no true inauguration draft or true grant park construction going on. There will be a party, but we are boasting beyond the truth to make it seem like the election is wrapped up.

Our goal is to continue to make you lose your moral. We worked hard at persuasion and paying off and timing and playing the right political numbers to get key republican endorsements to make it seem even more like it was over and the world was coming to an end for you all.

There is a huge staff of people working around the clock, watching every site, blogs, etc. We flood these sites. We have had a goal to overwhelm.

The truth is here. I could go on and on, but you get the picture.

I am saying this because I know HRC was better for the country, and now realize this. I was too late by the time I connected to her. To me Barack was just a cool young dude that seemed like a star. I didn’t know him or his policies, but now I understand more than I care to and I realize his interests are more for him, and the DNC and all working like puppets with dean. I always thought a president wanted the better good for the country. The end result I see is everyone dependent on the government, this means more and more people voting for the DNC. This means the future is forever altered. I don’t see this as america, so I am now supporting John Mccain.

Sarah Palin is a huge threat, and our campaign has feared her like you can’t imagine. If it seems unfair how she has been treated, well its because she has had a team working round the clock to make her look like a fool.

this is a big conspiracy and I am so shocked that its not realized.

We released a little blurb the other day that the Obama campaign was already working on reelection and now putting our efforts towards 2012. This was to make it seem like it was above us to continue caring about 2008. Trust me, its a lie. David is very smart, but its a sticky ugly not very truthful kind of intelligence.

Its not over yet, but I think the machine is working. And its a hill to climb.

I will be quitting my post on nov 5th and my vote will be for John Mccain. Fortunately, my position has been a marketing position and I don’t feel I had any part of anything I would feel guilty for. But I look forward to getting out of this as the negativity and environment upsets me.

I wish you all well, and goodluck.

PS my name is not really sarah. but I am a female and I understand your plight.”

France and Israel in all likelihood cannot believe their eyes that Americans en masse could be so easily duped by such a neophyte as Barack Obama. These countries and others like them realize America would have to plumb the depths to come up with anyone less qualified or more risky than BO for POTUS. Europeans must find it laughable that this election is more about American Idol and less about national security, but, hey, this is the juvenile mentality of America’s elite journalists who took it upon themselves to determine the direction of this race. CNN and MSNBC have only themselves and their Obama besotted journalists to thank should their idol win on Nov 4 and the United States becomes the laughingstock of the entire world.

  • NW Boiler

I think we have one of two scenarios with Obama in relation to the reality of the world and the ideological struggle we are in between freedom/democracy and the personal responsibility it requires vs. limited liberty/ruling by an elite class and bitter dependence upon the state: 1) he has no idea this struggle is taking place across the world, or 2) he is on the wrong side of that struggle.

I invite you to watch this video I put together back in July that I think lays it all out. It’s entitled “Who?”

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o78Wxu-l4e0

America’s elections used to be about issues. This one is about ideology. Choose wisely.

Oh, and as always, thanks NQ for everything you do.

Sarkozy’s comments make it essential that the L.A.Times release the Khalidi tape. And, his own running mate’s comments make the tape newsworthy. Obama is not America’s ally.

  • AF catfish

This is HUGE! This story was in today’s Haaretz. Check out this graph:

Until now, the five permanent members of the UN Security Council plus Germany have tried to maintain a united front on Iran. But according to the senior Israeli source, Sarkozy fears that Obama might “arrogantly” ignore the other members of this front and open a direct dialogue with Iran without preconditions.

Following their July meeting, Sarkozy repeatedly expressed disappointment with Obama’s positions on Iran, concluding that they were “not crystallized, and therefore many issues remain open,” the Israeli source said. Advisors to the French president who held separate meetings with Obama’s advisors came away with similar impressions and expressed similar disappointment.

Is this what Biden meant when he said “at first it might not be apparent Obama is doing the right thing, and we’ll have to stand by him”? (I’m paraphrasing.)

  • ObamaISaFRAUD

Obama says that he will make us more respected around the world. He says that he will lower our taxes but has no record of ever lowering taxes, only raising them. He has not done anything of substance for his home state of Illinois.

I cannot even imagine a President Obama. He is so undeserving. He hasn’t really accomplished anything and lacks judgment. He has actively sought out his radical associations. Why is it so unnerving to some people when you bring up these things? They just say it doesn’t matter.

Barack Obama has not even been a leader within his own party’s delegation, either in the Illinois part-time Legislature or in the U.S. Senate, where he’s been absent since he got there.

NO ONE in the Democratic legislative leadership looks to Barack Obama for leadership on policy on ANY topic. Yet, he wants to be leader of the free world.

What is there about this that is so hard to fathom for the disciples laying palm fronds in his path for entry into the holy city of politics?

I loved the article printed some time ago in The Economist. Strange they’re not fawning over him, considering how GOOD he’s supposed to be for the economy (that he knows nothing about).

Anyway, the article laid out all the grandiose beliefs of the Obama followers about their candidate. And concluded with one question:

    “Based on what?”

Simple question. Still has not been answered.

I’ve asked this question so many times, it’s ridiculous and I’ve still not gotten an answer. And this goes back to the primaries.

Tell me one thing, one significant accomplishment of the man you suggest should be the leader of the free world? Anything he has done, any initiative or legislative act which is identified with him, which he initiated, on his own (not tacked onto by those trying to help him build a resume he doesn’t have).

Tell me one thing he has done that recommends him to assume the office of President of the United States.

Let me put it this way: I don’t believe Barack Obama is qualified to be MAYOR OF WASILLA, much less President of the United States.

You have to know when the Frenchies call you arrogant, your ego is out of control. But this is scary, scary business. A man with no foreign relations experience [other than his college trip to Pakistan and whirlwind tour of Europe], his willingness to sit down eyeball to eyball with thugs [tiny countries or not] and the inevitable wreakage that an unfettered Dem Congress/Dem Presidency will do to an already weakened economy.

And did you hear Pelosi [who I was so excited about when she was first named as Speaker of the House] say that when the Dems rule there will be a “bipartisan” atmosphere? I almost gagged. The most partisan of partisans saying she would make nice once she had the studded whip and nuclear bomb in hand.

Oh please. This whole scenario is like a surreal nightmare.

I don’t know what’s happened to my own Party. But I cannot and will not accept it. I’m praying that the majority of the electorate realizes the real danger we’re facing. But I’m encouraged by the tightening polls and the amazing uptick on Wall St. today. I have to believe that the internal polls are neck to neck in Pa right now. Otherwise, why is everyone there? And why are the Obamatrons running around like their hair’s on fire. That in itself is a tip-off.

I’m going to have ulcers before this thing is over. But I guess everyone here feels the same way.

Barack Obama has not even been a leader within his own party’s delegation, either in the Illinois part-time Legislature or in the U.S. Senate, where he’s been absent since he got there.

that’s the main reason why Dean, Pelosi, and Reid want Obama to win. Obama is not a leader, he’s someone that tries to please everyone by agreeing with everyone. Dean, Pelosi, and Reid doesn’t want a leader in the Oval office, they want a puppet they can lead by the nose and do their bidding.
