Some Things Never Change

How funny is THIS piece of deja vu???

Newsbusters has a bit of a transcript:

SCARBOROUGH: Jeffrey Sachs –

JEFFREY SACHS: This is your extra-credit question. Name the most significant thing Barack Obama has done –

MIKA BRZEZINSKI: There you go.

SCARBOROUGH: — on the national stage. Just name one. Big one. Big thing.

SACHS: What he’s done is bring the country together on a new direction.

SCARBOROUGH: No, no, no, no. That’s mish-mash.

SACHS: That’s the most important–that’s not mish-mash. That is not mish-mash.

SCARBOROUGH: Legislatively.

SACHS: The most important thing for a senator who’s been in for a few years is define a direction out of this mess, and that’s what he’s done. that’s why he’s going to win the election.

SCARBOROUGH: Not a specific, I can’t get a specific. I love your hair. I can’t get a specific out of him.

SACHS: The specific is that he’s defined a way to achieve energy and new approaches for this country.

SCARBOROUGH: Where do I find that in the Congressional Record?

Kind of reminds you of this doesn’t it? And that was wayyy back in February! Some things just never change….

Well, one can’t report about something that hasn’t happened.

jeffery sachs: obama will strive to endeavor to do better

saachs is acting like a clown. And sachs is no idiot, or least he didn’t used to be. What happened? Anyone or anything that gets anywhere near obama turns to shit.

Are those people so deperate after 8 years of bush that have lost all their common sense?

  • Hope

The more things ‘change’, the more they stay the same.

Love ‘Joe the Media Guy’s’ reference to waking in the night (worried about some facet of Obama’s ineptness.)
Haven’t slept in weeks, how about you?

  • Buzz Latte

Yup. Common sense went out the window when the lack of vetting Obama took over.

We are months down the road and NO ONE can come up with anything Obama has done to better lives other than his own.

It’s always, “He will…’. Well, no he won’t because he hasn’t so far.

    yes

My opinion is repeated over and over. The well educated, regardless of which side, seem to be locked in theory, ideals, and totally confused.

Joe the Plumber thinks straight. So do a lot of people.

People have to take the time now to process all the known facts, apply what they know about politics, common experience with people, and make up their own minds.

For me? I think John McCain may APPEAR to be the same as always but that’s an illusion. He has a real record for bi-partisan work. He didn’t get his maverick meme traction, true. But it was founded on fact.

I think John McCain is at the perfect age to do NOTHING but good for his country. At this age, frankly, ego is of little use. It’s easy to blow oneself off. Make a mistake? Big deal. Just correct course fast.

I think John McCain has proven to be the wilier of the two. Obama started off the GE with a “jump the shark” moment in Berlin, and he’s ending on the same “jump the shark” moment with a paid infomercial that interfered with the beloved pre-game for the World Series. Same ego. AND….he attempted to sell us his empathy and compassion after bashing Joe the Plumber in front of all of America for 2 weeks.

People who don’t live in their “heads” get that. He reinforced the message against him throughout the primary and throughout the GE: He’s a speechmaker. Pretty words. But…..when given the opportunity, his attitudes toward the middle-class come through.

And THAT is reinforced that they are already dropping the level on the tax hikes. We’re down to 150,000 now…..going, going……

  • Judy

That’s just it – he hasn’t defined the way out of this mess, at least not in a specific way that doesn’t change from day to day.

When he first started his run, one of his biggest issues was the money that funds our elections. All of his groupies swooned when he talked of getting special interests out of politics. Yet all along, all he did was eliminate the middle man – the registered lobbyist – and took money directly from the people who are the special interests. Obama, because of his ability to deliver well-written lines and because of his race, is able to provide coverage for what is the most cynically corrupt campaign that I can remember (and I can remember quite a few).

I believe the reason that so many entrenched politicians are his biggest supporters is because they see Obama as a great rainmaker who can distract the voters from what is really going on.

    Absolutely, Judy….

The Democratic Party is the party determined not to change this year.

Not that McCain wouldn’t have his handsfull with Republicans unwilling to give up the gravy train.

  • 30yrdem

After all this time if there were anything there for them to memorize they would have it down by now, don’t you think?

Listen, I can tell you things Clinton has done, I can tell you things McCain has done…Shoot I can even tell you what Palin did for Alaska. There is nothing there for Obama.

Why people won’t look at the candidates and not look for a R or D is beyond me. OK, I always voted party, I admit it but I did learn about who I was voting for for president.

I learned this year…A person who is running for state senate again in my state first ran as REP. got elected changed to DEM after getting in office. Can you say low? She knew she would win on a REP ticket so she tricked the people. Because I like to see women in office I was going to vote for her. I voted for her when she ran on the REP ticket but after learning she was using the people that way I will not vote for her this time around on the DEM ticket. She lied about her positions. Plus the guy running against her, from what I can find, is a really nice guy, seems to be very honest, church going man, has a young family, very highly thought of by people who know him inside and outside the church. I can’t find anything about him that is bad.

I am going to vote straight REP. this time, and yes I would like to have a few different people to vote for but the Dems on the ticket are out of the question. One moved back here last year just to run, born here moved away years ago, came from Washington. Another votes like Obama on things like abortion, to far left for me.

I guess what I am saying is people need to look at the people and their record, find out what you can from other people about them, don’t just go by what you read on their web site. We might get a better government if people would do these things. The people in the videos aren’t doing that are they? They are voting R or D without looking at the record or the non-record.

Senator Obama’s entire career has progressed through calculated associations, rather than measurable achievement.

We have never seen a legal opinion written by him.
We have never been informed of any groudbreaking legal case he has won. His time on the Chicago Annenburg Challenge board resulted in no great improvement to education. His time in the Illinois General Assembly resulted in no reduction in Illinois corruption nor improved the lives of people in his district…particularly not when it comes to crime.

And his time in the US Senate? Ha!

He is an empty suit. A charlatan. A personality that has been propped up by the deeds of others.

I fear he will simply be a tool for interests that will do harm to our nation.

A final agreement has been reached between African Press International (API) and Fox News Network (USA) on the dates to air the Michelle Obama tape arising from a discussion Mrs. Obama had with the API two weeks ago. The show will take place any day/time from now, with a 15 minutes alert on when it is to take place. Other programmes will be interrupted. This is a precaution taken to avoid interference from any quarter.

In the agreement, Fox News Network will broadcast 39 minutes of the 54 minutes long tape. The whole tape cannot be aired unedited due to security reasons and especially due to the explosive political temperature in the country because of the Presidential elections that is just around the corner, November 4th.

The tape will be aired in two portions by two separate units in the Network. API’s representative will appear live in one of the shows.

The parties have agreed that the information to be released to the public on the agreement will not include the naming of the units at Fox News Network that will air the tapes in order to avoid outside pressure and influence of any kind before the show has taken place. Nondisclosure of the name of the shows that will air the tapes has become necessary due to pressure from groups interested to block the release of the contents to the public.

Due to a huge interest in the tapes shown by some private individuals, groups belonging to some political camp(s) and persons connected to a section of an intelligence network, it has been decided that the 54 minutes long unedited tape is to be kept outside the United States in safe custody of one of API’s Lawyers based in Ontario, Canada.

The day and time schedules of the broadcast will only be announced 15 minutes before the Show begins in order to avoid attempts to block the Show from airing the tapes.

Any pressure from any outside forces that may want to know the exact day and time schedule of the Show before-hand or any other details in the agreement will get no answers to their requests either from API or Fox News Network.

The decision to have the above information public was a difficult one due to the sensitivity of the case and huge interest against, and for, the release of the contents of the tape for public consumption.

    OMG!
Checks on ‘Joe’ more extensive than first acknowledged

Helen Jones-Kelley, director of the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services, disclosed today that computer inquiries on Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher were not restricted to a child-support system.

“Given our understanding that Mr. Wurzelbacher had publicly indicated that he had the means to purchase a substantial business enterprise, ODJFS, consistent with past departmental practice, checked confidential databases ,” she wrote.

“Not surprisingly, when a person behind in child support payments or receiving public assistance is receiving significant media attention which suggests that the person appears to have available financial resources, the Department risks justifiable criticism if it fails to take note and respond,” Jones-Kelley wrote.
    http://www.dispatch.com/live/content/
    local_news/stories/2008/10/29/joe30.html

According to the article joe is not involved in any child support or public assistance matters at all. None. There was absolutely no reason for the Ohio Department of Job and Family Services to check on joe. Except the fact that joe asked obama a question and obama fucked up and answered truthfully.

obama embarrassed himself and Ohio “liberals” were gonna make joe pay for it. Outrageous!

“She [Helen Jones-Kelley] said on Monday that her department frequently runs checks for any unpaid child support obligations “when someone is thrust quickly into the public spotlight.”"

Bullshit. Why not just go through the damn phone book and dig through the personal information of every person in it? Out! Rage! Us!

One of the reasons I think this election is important is because of the pattern set for future elections.

Nevermind campaign finance. That’s dead, forever, now.

But…if experience and record mean very little, that’s opening the country up to a host of salesmen.

I had loved Stephanie Tubbs Jones. In a way I am glad I never had to see her turn into another boot licker for Obama. So in my mind I can believe Stephanie Tubbs Jones would never have supported a candidate who is so clearly an absolute lethal disaster for this Country.

    That’s pretty lame.

It was intended to intimidate him.

Fortunately, Joe is made of some old-fashioned good stuff. It hasn’t cowed him from speaking from his heart.

    Good guy…..you can tell.

  • KintheNorthwest

    That is so much Garbage.
We now have racial issues that we didnt have for the last several decades. We have whites who are now like Obama’s description of Obama’s “typical white grandmother”.
I will admit that I am now more jittery when I come upon a group of black people, or a group of black people approach me. To me this is weird, beause as a teen I was a Civil Rights volunteer, who even got arrested two times at non-violent sit ins. For the many years I lived in large cities I put in hundreds of volunteer hours for many inner city projects.

If anything, Obama has created a huge rift between the blacks and other races. No matter who wins this year I think it will be years before this rift will be mended.

  • Andy

I have become quite depressed these past few weeks I think Obama will win…And what depresses me is the people behaving at the voting booth exactly like in 2000. Elect the “likeable” guy and in this case the most inexperience candidate with the most troubling character. But what depresses me teh most is that for the next 4 years we will have the lies of Pelosi, Dean and Reid at the helm with extraordinary power and the likes of Olbermann and Matthews as the “face” of America. It is truly, truly disgusting. The pits.

  • Steven

    This whole election is crazy,
I’m starting to think Obama is a front man for the CIA to make Bush Jr not look so bad.The American public and media let me down the most this year. How can we continue as a democracy when 50% of the voters don’t care to research about the intent or past of our next President.I wish i could sleep till Nov 4th and wake up from this nightmare.

How can this great country elect such a fraud and be happy with an Obama-Pelosi-Reid leadership controling all of government? It is astounding….

  • AnninCA

No, it’s just that the Democratic Party really upped the ante this year.

Insiders decided this was the year to take the party away.

The Clintons are actually very reputable, politically speaking.

    The insiders? Not.

They regularly have played games in WA. Pelosi’s antics are obvious. So were Reid’s.

They just thought they couldn’t lose this year.

Of the many odd things I’ve noticed this year- as a Republican I can tell you it doesn’t feel as though we’re running against the same Democratic Party we have in the past. I can’t even describe it- but I keep trying to have discussions with Dems and we never can talk issues anymore- it’s ALL about Obama, period.

    AnninCA -

I agree with you whole heartedly. An Obama victory will set a new standard for candidate “branding.” Substance will be shoved aside for marketing in future elections. Each new candidate will have larger and larger public relations teams spending more money on target-market research for slogans, logos, music, etc.

Each party will push forward a “marketable” candidate who will then just be a lackey for the party’s platform.

This would truly be a victory of style over substance.

Thanks for the video. I haven’t watched Morning Joe in a while simply because I can’t deal with smirky Mika’s facial expressions whenever he performs an Obama rant.

Last night, I tried to watch Larry King’s taped interview with McCain and thought the first segment went well until King came on by himself right after that segment and did a “fact check” about how there was nothing untoward between Obama and Kalidi — in other words, McCain’s a liar. I don’t know how exactly he would know this, but he thinks he’s got the straight scoop. I immediately turned it off with a groan — I can’t remember this type of thing happening anytime in past elections right in the middle of an interview.

Erica Jong Tells Italians Obama Loss ‘Will Spark the Second American Civil War. Blood Will Run in the Streets’

    by Jason Horowitz | October 30, 2008

    AN EXCERPT FROM THIS ARTICLE:

“It seems that the final days of the presidential campaign have made Erica Jong and her friends more than a little anxious.

A few days ago, Jong, the author and self-described feminist, gave an interview to the Italian daily Corriere della Sera, the choicest bits of which were brought to my attention by the reliably sharp-eyed Christian Rocca, the U.S. correspondent of Il Foglio, who published excerpts on his Camillo blog. Basically, Jong says she her fear that Obama might lose the election has developed into an “obsession. A paralyzing terror.

An anxious fever that keeps you awake at night.” She also says that her friends Jane Fonda and Naomi Wolf are extremely worried that Obama will be sabotaged by Republican dirty tricks, and that if an Obama loss indeed comes to pass, the result will be a second American Civil War.

Here’s a translation of Jong’s more spirited quotes to the Milan-based Corriere, as selected by Rocca.
“The record shows that voting machines in America are rigged.”

    My response:

Okay MS JONG- please explain to us what you think WILL happen IF…IF Sen obama wins?

This is such a classic example of fear mongering.
    This is an outrage.

Is she trying to scare voters to death so that they will elect Sen Obama?

Has she stopped to consider what the voters who do not support Sen Obama will say or do if he wins the election due to fraud in the primary, mass media support, 3/4 billion $ in marketing, advertising, and merchandising since he reneged on his campaign financing position, open questions about his eligibility to run for office?

Stay out of it Ms. jong. Your opinion is doing nothing but inciting riots.

There IS no leadership right now, frankly, from either party.

Sen. John McCain is a leader. I am a very proud Puma supporting Sen. McCain. Get acquainted with his record and you may find there is someone with true leadership.

Checks against Joe the Plumber are totally justified. He wants to be a capitalist in the European-style socialism we are heading for. He is not to be trusted. He just wants to exploit the workers.

Now, i would be offended if someone tried to vet Obama. That would be so……counter-revolutionary.

McCain is going to win. He is a sly old fox.

By refusing to engage Obama on Obama’s terms, he took away Obama’s ability to define the debate. Obama is not ahead in the polls right now, and McCain has yet to do his 72 hour blitz.

THAT IS SO AWESOME! People are sick of him and his self centered, narcissistic way. Why his campaign thought he needed to do this is beyond me? I heard snips of it on the radio today and it was all doom and gloom. At least McCain offers a positive message that things will get better. I am so glad people are finally tuning him out and turning off the tv. What a powerful message to him! HAHAHAH NOBAMA!!!!!!

“So why do we know more about Joe the Plumber than we do about Obama?”

That is the 64 million dollar question, isn’t it? And why in the hell do we need to “vet” a private citizen when the Democratic candidate for POTUS has not been properly vetted?

The Obamatrons can spin this any way they want. In fact, I hope they keep spinning and sputtering right up until next Tuesday. Not only did Obama expose himself with the answer to Joe’s question, but the campaign revealed itself for what it really is:

A bunch of unprincipled thugs who will tear anyone and everyone apart if you don’t “fall in line.”

Keep spinning and trashing little “o’s” because Joe’s story still has traction and is mowing this movement of hollow words and promises down to the ground.

The “O” team forgot something very important: Joe the Plumber is an ordinary American just like the rest of us. And we get to voice our displeasure on how he and we have been treated on Nov. 4th!

That is truly laughable. He monopolized the
stations and still couldn’t force people to watch him. My friend and I have been saying for a while he’s been busing in the same people to his events all over the country. Same people different town. Michelle probably went out and bought ten new tv’s to help boost those pathetic ratings. And, and people were waiting for the World Series. Can you imagine if no one was waiting for the World Series? And those people were probably in the kitchen for his whole bit of bloviating. I hope this will be reflected at the polls. • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

I know this will seem OT…SORRY…But I think it’s important that we all keep in mind that some of these people here are “concern trolls” sent to demoralize us. Here is a great article from HILLBUZZ about TROLLS.

    ===========================================

Hey Eeyores: how good are you at spotting trolls?
    Posted by hillbuzz

This is something we should have addressed a long time ago, but we always assumed Eeyores were smart enough to spot trolls on their own.

Trolls come in a wide variety, but the most frequent ones we find lurking here are “concern trolls”, which are loosely defined for our purposes as trolls who come to sites like this and outwardly feign support for Hillary Clinton or John McCain, but really have a pro-Obama agenda to demoralize you. We’re not aware of these critters existing in 2004, so they seem to be a new phenomenon of astroturfing (or, Axelrod turfing, if you will).

We have no idea who these people are in real life, but we imagine they are ugly.

    And dateless.

We completely ignore them here — but Eeyores we know, surprisingly, actually read the comments the concern trolls leave and wonder if any of it is true. Of course it’s not — the trolls come here to breed Eeyores in our midst, and spread rain clouds far and wide. For some reason, these people always remind us of Rumpelstiltskin, malicious and gnarled, lurking in the dark, popping up here and there, belching and farting while trying to get people to kill themselves so they can gnaw on their bones.

Extra drama in the coffee this morning!

We could name the worst trolls we see here, but unlike Rumpelstiltskin, naming these trolls doesn’t banish them to the phantom zone: because they revel in attention and power. You can figure out for yourself who they are — because they all read from the Axelrod astroturfing playbook, if not work for the Obama campaign itself.

They’ll say things like, “Well, McCain did have a surge in the polls and he is a good candidate, but now Zogby and Rasmussen say this race is over because Obama is so far ahead.” Their MO is to try to stike some psychological affinity with you, agreeing on some point, before casting an Eeyore spell over your gullible self and bringing you down with troll lies. Their hope is to spook Eeyores to stampede, and call or email all of their friends in panic. “Trolls told me we should give up and I listened because the trolls said it and I read what they said and now I need my dydee changed because I am the world’s most gullible 45-year old!”. And your Doorman or whoever is staring back at you wishes he never met an Eeyore such as yourself. Enough with the pants wetting over things trolls tell you.

And, if you haven’t figured this out by now, you deserve to be called stupid by us, because the biggest concern trolls OF THEM ALL are the mainstream media. The biggest Eeyores we know park themselves in front of MSNBC and wail and cry throughout the day, gnashing their teeth and pulling their hair, despondent the concern trolls on the Obama propaganda channel keep telling them to SURRENDER! because “all hope is lost, you can’t possibly win”. MSNBC tells Eeyores there is nothing any of us can do to stop Obama’s socialist paradise from arriving: the Age of Obama has begun!

And Eeyores collapse into puddles of tears and pee, sucking their hooves in fetal positions, burbling and babbling “Doomed! Doomed! Doomed!”.

It really is this ridiculous, people.

And the harder the trolls work to breed you Eeyores, the more we’re certain of John McCain and Sarah Palin’s win — because trolls wouldn’t be working this hard if they really thought they had it in the bag. The media would not be trying to manufacture rain clouds for Eeyores to wallow in if they really believe Obama was winning this. Why bother if you have this sewn up?

They are going to do what they did to Clinton supporters during the primaries: they will clobber you hard with Eeyore-inducing, concern troll logic the next few days in massive efforts to depress John McCain’s votes. Eeyores will email all of the troll logic around, spreading it — completely oblivious to the fact that this is exactly what trolls want you to do.

We have a good friend named Astrid who we love dearly but who is the absolute worst at this — we had to tell her yesterday that we never read anything she sends us because it’s all troll logic and Eeyore chow. We scan the first line of whatever email she sends, and if we see the slightest bit of concern troll in there, POOF!, into the recycle bin it goes. We have no idea what Astrid’s deal is with this or why she insists on spreading the lies she reads on MSNBC.com — but she’s a stubborn Eeyore who doesn’t see how much damage she does by forwarding troll polls or media lies around.

We repeat ourselves around here because we still haven’t found a way to get through to Eeyores like this, but you really need to stop spreading what you read in the media around to people. If you really want McCain/Palin to win, then spread only the articles you find that cut through the troll logic and media lies and inspire people to work harder for that win. Forward what you read on HillBuzz to people, because what we post is 100% troll logic free. We are a safe zone and won’t ever spread any of that raincloud media nonsense.

We’ve already told Astrid that after this election we’re having a long talk with her about changes she needs to make going forward – because life’s too short to depress people around you needlessly or hurt the causes you believe in by being so negative. Everything you want to communicate can be parsed in a positive way. Instead of telling people “This is so terrible!” or “Why aren’t they doing this?”, you need to manage your message and say, “Here’s an idea that can make this better” or “How about we try this?”. That might be silly to some of you out there, but you set a psychological tone with everything you do — and when people are stressed and the stakes are high, if you’re someone who brings people’s spirits down, and that’s not your intent, you need to change the way you communicate whatever it is you want to say. The concern trolls aspire to bring people down and deflate them. But, Eeyores don’t intend to do that, even though that’s what happens. We know Astrid means well — but she’s worth about 20 concern trolls sometimes.

Be mindful that we have just a few days left in what, for some of us, has been a 2 year long adventure in our lives. We’re confident of a win for McCain/Palin next Tuesday, but we need to stay strong together to weather a few more days of troll attacks and Eeyore rain storms — and make sure we get as many people to go out and vote for McCain/Palin as possible. Get people pumped up — don’t help the trolls bring them down.

The first presidential candidate to motivate divisiveness even to little kids like this 9 year old who tried to steal a McCain sign and got shocked. Read on:

    Boy shocked by campaign sign
    Thursday, October 30
    (updated 7:00 am)
    By The Associated Press

CHAPEL HILL (AP) – Shawn Turschak of Chapel Hill was tired of someone stealing McCain-Palin campaign signs from his yard.

So the man with a degree in electrical engineering hooked up a third sign to a power source for an electric pet fence Monday. Turschak also put up a surveillance camera.

The News & Observer of Raleigh reports that Tuesday, a 9-year-old boy with an Obama-Biden sign grabbed the McCain-Palin sign and got a jolt.

The boy’s father, Andrew Noble, then showed up at the Turschak’s door, upset his son had been shocked. Soon an Orange County sheriff’s deputy also showed up at the Turschak’s home.

Noble says his son just wanted to see how the sign was put together. Turschak says the boy intended to swap out the signs.

Sheriff Lindy Pendergrass said he doesn’t plan to file charges.

She is, and always has been, very self-absorbed. “Fear of Flying” was a timely book that influenced many women when it first came out.

Jong called herself the “amanuensis of the zeitgiest.” Why, at 56 years of age do I remember this remark? Oy, who knows.

My point is, anybody who refers to herself like that is a delusional egocentric.

  • AnninCA

When he plays the race card, I agree.

However, McCain has wisely not given him that opportunity in the GE, in spite of pressures to do so.

McCain has proven to us that he has the country first in mind.

I have NO doubt that Obama would have exploited that issue had McCain “gone” there. McCain is smart.

Therefore, race divides the country, not the politicians.

I think, personally, it’s really not about divisive race issues. It’s about competing interests.

I am asked to vote on a proposition in CA regarding drug arrests. Just an example. The proposition expands drug abuse rehabs. Sounds smart to me. BUT……it prohibits judges from sentencing for drug charges that aren’t also accompanied by violence.

    OK…..now we part ways.

I am not in favor of handcuffing judges, although I think a bunch of them are idiots who are nuts.

I can’t vote for that proposition. Bring me one which expands rehab opportunities? You’ll get my vote.

My point is that voters have to think it through. There are a ton of competing issues.

I know I’m not racist. That doesn’t mean I want to return to a welfare state.

  • jbjd

I, too, have been thinking about Ms. Tubbs-Jones. I wondered whether she would have stood up to BO. Honestly, I don’t know. But I admired her staunch support of her dear friend, HRC. I so wish she were around to help her friend through what must be a horrible nightmare.

  • AnninCA

    Exactly…..thank you.

McCain has managed to pull this race into real competitive territory, EVEN as he’s a “dreadful” Republican…..and EVEN as the dang economy collapsed.

That alone gets my kudo respect award.

They are so missing the point.

There’s a clear message there, too.

Problem is, “attraction” is not a “message.” Vague abstractions like “Hope” and “Change” are also not a message. I guess I am “missing THEIR message” because I sure can’t articulate it clearly, and I haven’t heard them do so either. The closest thing I have heard to a clear message from the Obama camp was in O’s words to Joe the Plumber regarding redistribution of wealth. Nope–can’t much respect that either. If they indeed HAVE a message, it is certainly not “clear,” and that is their intention: to keep it obscure and vague. Project your own fantasies of “message” onto The Precious–that can make all of his supporters happy.

  • AnninCA

Well, you do have a point there.

Ignore this nonsense thing. That is why we are losing. You know this is the simplist thing that very silly people can easily undertand. If he was not a Citizen, he would even have been a candidate at all. Please don’t be exited on this nonsense issue.

Please let us focus and go around to the people and make them to go to the poll so that we can poll.

Please ignore such kind of nonsense thing which really taking ourtime

    Now, if I said that…….lordy.

I agree. It’s always been a absurd story.

This is what we have to look forward to in an Obama presidency? A private citizen ask Dear Leader a HYPOTHETICAL question about buying a business and is investigated by the state? His private information released to the media? (Media = Obama campaign propaganda machine)

If Barky gets away with not having to show his REAL birth certificate, it will be a free for all from now on. Anyone from anywhere will be able to run. Our Constitution will be worthless. Now that’s change you can believe in!

Stephanie Tubbs Jones was an uncorrupt patriot, and a loyal Hillary friend…and she was a passionate fighter for Democracy.

i’m sure she saw and heard many things very up close and personal on the campaign trail with Hillary.

if she was getting ready to not back obama at the dem convention,or had information too threatening to the obamacoup, well …i guess we’ll never know, now will we?.

  • ritamary

I am not trying to defend Obama but he was talking about the secret ballot in union elections. Obama is horrible enough without exaggeration.

  • Kem

Please don’t wast your time in the non-sense issue. You know everybody can sue to the court anything. This is a free country.

I think we are wasting ourtime so much. Please let us get votes . Ignor this silly thing

Erica Jong was supporting Hillary. What happened to her? She calls herself a feminist but if she is a feminist how can she possibly support Obama?

    Stop with the ray-gun democrats.

Ray-gun was an ass-hole — horrible jerk — sexist, racist idiot.

Ray-gun was a befuddled nitwit — and more than likely bush senior was the real power behind the throne.

There are a hell of a lot of ray-gun hating democrats who are now voting for McCain because REAL Americans believe in Country First.

I have been giving up on Scarborough lately all they do is try and tell their veiwers how obama has won already, though he has been standing up to it a little not far enough. You would think his viewership gives him a little more power to take on Grhaham and Immelt.

    That IS the question.

How can Ms. Gloria Playboy bunny hop hop – Steinem support Obama the worst sexist pig to hit the political scene in my memory.

The sort of sexism that Obama uses should instantly disqualify him for serious consideration — he is deliberately being sexists. He is not merely slipping and making an off remark — he is deliberately being hateful to women.

REAL feminists don’t vote for sexist pigs.

  • DeaninMi

Notice how Sarah Silverman has been mute on that one?

Bet she doesn’t want any young Jews to go to Florida and tell their grandparents about that tape.

  • DeaninMi

Not to mention that there are Dems who were so incredibly repulsed by Ray-gun that they refuse to vote Repub this time around, too. So, if Obama wins, Repubs can thank themselves for that to some degree.

I disagree that Bush senior was the power. I think that designation goes to the first female President, Nancy Ray-gun (unelected, of course).

  • looking back

Cris Mathews is obviously racist or ignorant and low informed. God has chosen Obama to deliver us. His promises and motivations seem so very fine. Of course his record is a WHOLE different story. He renegaded on public financing and stated Iraq depends on conditions on the ground. I guess this will be how we can expect things to be, so excuse me if I do not give too much credence to what he says. Oh, and this whole experience thing going around, it is said we got where we are because of the experience in the Bush administration, well again, excuse me for believing that the President makes the decisions and Bush’s experience was IMO somewhat limited. But then in America we tend to get all gun ho on important decisions and then then back down and delegate blame. When Ahmandinijad (or whatever his name is) is eating Iranian caviar in the Wh dinning room, just remember we are the ones who invited him. Rememder also, our inexperienced imperfect President Obama is just listening to his grievences, it does not mean he in any way agrees with him. If he does agree he promises to always be honest and tell us where he stands. I am not enthusiastic at the prospect, but in our wonderful democracy I am just part of the minority that is not.

  • Mr. X

    I’m not surprised that a do-nothing congress would want a do-nothing President.

Why is it that no one seems to posit or entertain the notion of what would happen if on Nov. 4 or Nov. 5 it became clear there was substantial evidence that the Obama campaign had engaged in significant voter fraud in key swing states? What if the election went to the House of Representatives and the election was given to Obama despite the evidence of campaign cheating on his part? What would people do in such a case? Would there be blood in the streets for McCain? Would the press continue to glorify The One in his lust for office? Why is it that the “projection” is only that Obama will only lose because someone or something will cheat him out of victory? It is the same double bind and pretzel twist that says that if you do not support Obama you are a racist. If McCain is cheated out of the presidency, is that ok because the guy doing the cheating and the guy who would get the stolen goods is Obama, The One?

  • athena

It does make ya feel good – Straight GOP ticket – first time evah!

Obama is the one that is in cohorts with all the big powers that be, hence the endorsements (and money). He is making sure they all get what they want, whether it is lowering standards in nuclear energy leaks or encouraging ethanol production, which has created a global food crises and tripled corn prices. People are not Obamas focus, they are just his enablers. He promises tax rebates for the middle class. I know democrats who make a $120 thousand and never complain about the taxes they pay, it will be interesting to see if they start to after Obama is CIC.

  • jangles

I heard a short segment of an Obieone speech just yesterday. He was whining about how awful it was they were accusing him of socialist thinking. He said, “The next thing you know they will be calling me a Communist because I shared my toys when I was a kid.” He must rely on the idea that most people are stupid and uninformed and that they do not know the difference between him sharing his toys and him taking their toys and sharing them with others.

Obama is a lawyer, perhaps things will get complex and then the courts will decide. We, in the interest of a peaceful transfer of power will respect the decisions of those honored to represent us.

  • hootnannie

If the brickbats do fly, I hope Ogremann and his ilk are the ones who get hit! For months, they’ve egged on the notion that Bobo can only lose because of racism. (And they’ll probably add Hillary as a cause.) Either way, there’ll be an uproar. Either the O-bots will lash out in fury over a loss, or they’ll run rampant delivering payback to all those who they assume opposed The One. I think most of us would much rather deal with a short-lived burst of anger than a sustained overlording. And, in the almost impossible circumstance that Bobo might win, scores of people will be flooding Congress and the courts with still more damaging allegations against him. Even a Dem majority might be so overwhelmed with complaints that impeachment and removal could easily occur. Bobo may well not be a native-born citizen. He may have committed treason or something very close to it. The people behind him are Marxists, anarchists, anti-American terrorists, whitey-hating Afrocentrists, and cultural libertines who want to tear down the society and build it back up to their own specifications!
    For God and country, McCain/Palin!

  • POdVet

That is what he is referring to. With out the secret ballot, those who do NOT wish to unionize are open to intimidation from the union thugs. Unions used to be the ones intimidated by police goon squads working for the corporate bosses. Then the mafia took over many of the unions, and the intimidation went the other way. Now that it has settled into a give and take between the two, Obama wants to give his corrupt union leader friends unfettered access to anyone who doesn’t fall in line. Just like his Obamatons did throughout the primaries.

  • Andy

    ritamary:

That’s what I meant: that’s why I said “union bosses” and the workers.

I tend to agree. Any voting should be done in secret. There really is no other way to ensure the sanctity of the vote unless it is secret.

Actually, if he BELIEVED that he was, in fact, a citizen, and if there’s no sort of requirement to PROVE one’s citizenship in order to run for President, then this is a LEGITIMATE ISSUE.
People can simply ASSUME that because he’s a Senator, then he must be eligible to run for President. However, while the Constitution has a DEFINITE requirement for the President to be a “natural-born citizen” (in addition to the minimum age of 35 and a resident for 14 years), there are only 3 specific requirements for Senators: First, a minimum age of 30; Second, a “citizen” of the US for 9 years; and, Third, an “inhabitant” of the State he/she will represent. The second requirement would allow ANYONE, regardless of place of birth, to serve in the Senate. The third requirement is what allowed Hillary to run for the Senate seat for New York in 2000 and allowed Keyes to run against Barry in 2004 (for that Senate run, Keyes rented a house in Illinois which provided his status as an “inhabitant” of Illinois).
But, if Obama had simply produced a state-issued copy of his birth certificate WHEN THIS FIRST CAME UP, instead of pulling this seeming cover-up, then the whole matter would’ve been long gone. What hurt Barry most was when the COLB that WAS produced turned out to have similar types of inconsistencies to it that the infamous Dubya “memo” that Dan Rather had. What was funny was that the same people who then stuck up for (and most wanted to believe in) the memo’s veracity were the very ones who chose to downplay (if not completely ignore) the problems with Barry’s COLB.
Again, this was something that McCain had to face–even to the point of the US Senate’s passing a resolution on McCain’s citizenship back in April. Obama, on the other hand, has YET to provide a verifiably legitimate copy of his birth certificate or certificate of live birth.

Yeah Kem.. I’m so sure *THIS* is the reason McCain is “losing”

When I ask some of my cousins why they are voting for Obama they all tell me.. because the No Quarter blog commenters keep bringing up the court case.

I voted early in Indiana this morning. They’ve called out reinforcements at the county building and were getting people photo-ID’ed and cross-checked quickly, but there was still a half-hour line. One of the polling officers told me it’s been this busy for the past week. If my home county is any indication, Indiana is headed for a record voter turn-out.

  • IndianaDem

The Obama rallies have been drawing the most racially diverse crowds I’ve ever seen. If there’s a widening rift, it sure isn’t among the democrats.
