McCAIN AND OBAMA IN DEAD HEAT IN PA

According to an NBC/Mason Dixon poll released today, John McCain and Barack Obama are embroiled in a statistical dead heat in Pennsylvania.

McCain Obama Undecided
Pennsylvania 43 47 9

The interviews were conducted on 27 and 28 October, and the margin of error for this poll is four percent.

Please consider volunteering with Harriet Christian in northeast PA or volunteering with the Real Democrats in western and southern PA this weekend. If Real Democrats, independents, PUMAs and others can deliver PA to McCain, the Obama juggernaut will be derailed once and for all.

Feel free to consider this an open thread. And feel free to read more about this poll at Memeorandum.

Reposting a comment from hillbuzz making an observation on the impliations of the hidden Obama BC

I recommend as must read article of the day, maybe the year
a piece over at http://americasright.com by a Constitutional Legal
Expert named Dr. Edwin Vieira about the implications of electing
a man who is not eligible to become President because of not being natural born.

    They are huge beyond imagination.

Just to whet your interest, here’s my little summary of a long article:
    ————————————————————————–
No not just an insult to us voters, it’s far more profound than that.

If the fear that Obama has no eligibility to become President is true, than he is not President, period.

As such, no law passed by Congress has authority, think about it.
    The budget has no authority.
    No welfare check is valid.
No government purchase order is valid.
No international trade agreement is valid.
No new government bonds are valid.

There would be no reason to want to buy or sell anything to the US government.
Think about what happened to the world economy over those sub-prime
    mortgage bits of paper.
This is world financial meltdown on steroids. And once it happens, it
    will snowball overnight.

The consequences would be so devastating that my Brit friend says
it simply won’t be allowed to happen. That’s just his opinion.

Also, no commands given to the military have validity. If they
kill someone, they are no longer protected by the laws of war, so to speak.
They become simple murderers. They become open to prosecution
    anywhere and everywhere.

Do you think that situation could even be stable for a month. I don’t.

Nobody has thought this through. Obama has sealed his records.
That won’t suffice. If the fear gets out and about that every piece of
paper, every check sent out, every deal done by the US government
is invalid, no mainstream media effort will be big enough to hide
what would happen everywhere. What comes after trillion?
    Quadrillion.

I did not waste a second of my time watching Obama last night but did he even mention his very sick Grandmother that the MSM was saying she probably wouldn’t make it through the weekend when he went to visit her. Just lies to get sympathy votes!! How much fuel did he waste on his sympathy votes?

From a Friend we went to Denver together

You will all love hearing this. I just got off the phone with my friend J***** who lives in Chicago. He is using the Obama website to call democrats (supposedly to support Obama) but instead turns them away from Obama. LOL

He says he lives in Chicago, is gay and is a progressive democrat (which he is) ~ then informs them that he lives only 8 blocks away from Obama and proceeds to explain to them that there will be no change with Obama in the white house.

    LOL

He says these calls are like therapy and there are more democrats that are PUMAs than we all realize.

Anyway, he has been able to turn some who are voting the party line by telling them the truth about Obama (without going into the muslim or defacing rhetoric)

I say we should all give it a go!!

  • Betty

Hi just heard Sarah Palin say to the people of Missouri something like: “Missouri, would you hire us, would you send us to Washington to work for you?”

    And I immediately realized:
    1) how hard those two, McCain/Palin have worked in their lifetimes and during this campaign.

    2) and what a GOLD BRICK OBAMA is.

    It was a great visual.

  • Mollye

Very cute! I can relate to all…especially this line:

    I, in my bathrobe
With a cat in my lap
    Had cut off the TV

If you don’t mind, I will print your poem and pin it beside my monitor. It will provide many chuckles between now and Tuesday night!

I did not watch the fraud last night, but apparently he said during his infomercial that if he loses, he would run again in 2012. What? Michelle promised us this is a once-in-a-lifetime nightmare!

A feminist take on the famous William J. H. Boetcker quotes.

You cannot bring about prosperity by discouraging thrift.
You cannot strengthen the weak by weakening the strong.
You cannot help Liberal women by tearing down Conservative women.
You cannot lift the wage earner by pulling down the wage payer.
You cannot help the poor by destroying the rich.
You cannot establish sound security on borrowed money.
You cannot further the sisterhood of women by inciting class hatred.
You cannot keep out of trouble by spending more than you earn.
You cannot build character and courage by destroying women’s initiative and independence.
And you cannot help women permanently by doing for them what they can and should do for themselves.

    Voted McCain-Palin last night.

Y’know what I bet would swing this election? A tape of Michelle Obama saying “whitey.”

    Anybody got one of those?

  • athy

I posted this on another NQ thread but it might not have been read and it is important and needs to be repeated…

Why is no one discussing the possibility of any “FAITHLESS ELECTORS” in this campaign?

    Please read the following.

A Faithless elector is free to choose ANY candidate he/she wishes to support.

Elector is not legally tied down to voting for the candidate they were ‘promised to’ when they took on the job of being an elector.(I think there are 1 or 2 states with exception here)

In the event of a 269/269 tie(based upon populaar votes) …then there is nothing-to the best of my knowledge-to stop one of the 269 electors assigned to McCain-to cross over and change their mind up to December 15 and vote for Obama.

    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/US_Electoral_College
    EXCERPT

“Rather than directly voting for the President and Vice President, United States citizens cast votes for electors. Electors are technically free to vote for anyone eligible to be President, but in practice pledge to vote for specific candidates[2] and voters cast ballots for favored presidential and vice presidential candidates by voting for correspondingly pledged electors.
    [3] Most states allow voters to choose between statewide slates of electors pledged to vote for the presidential and vice presidential tickets of various parties;

the ticket that receives the most votes statewide ‘wins’ all of the votes cast by electors from that state.

U.S. presidential campaigns concentrate on winning the popular vote in a combination of states that choose a majority of the electors, rather than campaigning to win the most votes nationally.

If I were the Republican party leaders- I would make sure that all republican electors were protected from any undue influence (blackmail, threats, bribes) from Obama campaign.

I would review the list of Republican electors too (while making sure that the civil rights -of electors are not violated) just to make sure there are no ‘hidden’ wolves in sheeps clothing (ie Obama plants) in the pool of Republican party-pledged electors.

Why do I say this? Because we are dealing with Sen Obama and David Axelrod and MANY MANY others who would-in my opinion- have no boundaries as to how low they could go to win this election. Look at what was done to Sen Clinton during the Democratic primary as proof .

This is classic Chicago style politics to pull off such a thing at the last moment.

And…if anyone thinks that IF such a scenario arises where the legality of certain election-related activities are questioned AFTER …AFTER an election has taken place- I say-let the past be your guide as to how the situation will be handled.

Ask John Kerry & John Edwards.Ask Al Gore.

If this poll is true, it’ll be great for Mac. I think that the undecideds will break for McCain. If Mac can win PA, it’ll be a major breakthrough

you know “gil mann” the election has already “swung” as you so aptly put it…right into John Sidney McCain’s lap and out of the hands of Barack Hussein Obama. Wait and see…the Dems are defecting to McCain like people jumping from a sinking ship.

Those Dems, plus McCain’s Repub base, plus newly energized voters of all stripes who LOVE Sarah Palin will bring BO down, down, down and kick him all the way back to Chicago.

  • Phillymiss

I had an interesting experience yesterday — I was on my lunch hour in Center City (downtown Philly)and I saw some people (including an AA woman) with Democrats for McCain signs. I went over to talk with them and one of the women said they were Hillary voters now supporting McCain. She offered me a button and I said I was an Independent and not a Democrat, but I did think that Hillary would have been the better candidate and that she was mistreated. I also told her since I was a government employee and couldn’t support candidates publicly, but I did support their cause.

The moral of this story is THE PUMAS ARE ALIVE AND WELL AND RRRROARING!

Oh, forgot to mention — HOW ‘BOUT THEM PHILLIES????

Michelle Obama with her angry, menacing scowl
    Whitey, Whitey, Whitey
She makes her mentor , Wright so proud as everyone in the crowd hoots and hollers, throwing themselves around in a tizzy.

I’ve been saying this for the longest time. This is why the Obots and Obama himself are doing everything they possibly can to get in now because there is no way that he would eve be able to run for Senate again, let alone the Presidency. If he doesn’t win now, he’s completely done politically.

The only way he would be able to become president for more than 4 years even if he would win is by basically taking over the country and not hold elections after 4 years.

  • Typewriterstreaming

Please Dear God let people come to their senses in the booth and vote Obama. my MOM really likes Sarah but still she thinks Bambi will find a way to cheat his way in like he did in the primaries………… we made a bet and my daughter (who says she voted for the phony Obama)

we all made a bet and it’s really for $100 each but I probably won’t take it from MOM since she does actually LIKE Mack and Sarah even though she won’t vote for them. Grrrr.

  • bayareavoter

It got half as many viewers because it got the folks already in the tank for BO.

I thought the only people who would want to watch Barky’s infomercial would be the already adoring Obamanots–did they really think others would want to watch?

  • mimi

This is exactly why I wanted him to lose in a landslide, which doesn’t look like it’s going to happen.

He hasn’t done all of this organizing for nothing. In 4 years, PUMAS will be older. In 4 years, all the kids who were not eligible to vote: 14 through 17 will be out in full force.

0bama must be brought down. If he loses, we have to continue the pursuit of his Birth Certificate and tying him to corruption.

I wish I could give some assistance in PA, but unfortunately I am in South Africa.

My own interesting little story. A young american lady from NJ joined our French lesson classes. I started a discussion in class on the US election. She voted for Obama, but was surprised when her father told her he voted McCain!

We have an USA election evening at French classes next weekend – will be following your election (and I will do so through the night (South Africa time) at home. Of course I will take my McCain banner to French classes next tuesday.

May be why Polosi said she was 100% sure Barack would win. Let us not forget the Super Delegates, both alive and dead.

  • BlackmanNot4Obama

I have a feeling that McCain is going to win alot of states that he is not supposed to win like NJ, NY & CT. That will nullify the theft of the swing states with the fraudulent voting. I keep seeing commercials for his campaign on TV and I am wondering why the hell is he spending money on tv ads here?????? I hope to god that sanity prevails on tuesday!

Just like Hillary asked during the primary “who would you hire for the toughest job in America?” Not Barry, he just assumes that we all want to give him the job. I hope McCain and Palin kick his ass all the way to back to chicago where he can surf on Monster.com for a job as a clown.

    C’mon Mac, you’re my Eli Manning…throw a hail mary!

  • Typewriterstreaming

I think if he is elected and the Dems take the House there is going to be a huge backlash in two years. If we still really have fair elections, the Republicans will take every single seat available. This will be the last Democrat elected. I think the Party is going to fall unless they forcefully take the Country. And that last part scares me. I think it is possible. Obama owes big time to those overseas donors and they want their piece of our pie.

  • barry bums a ciggie

So, I get a call from an obot last night (I was secretly delighted!). She starts to say “hi, I’m calling on behalf of the America for Change for Senator…uh, Obama” (hesitation on her part, for fear of a hang up). I said “yes” and can tell she’s happy because I didn’t hang up at the word Obama. She starts again but I interrupted her by saying “oh, do you want me to vote for him?” With giddiness, she said yes. I then said “Oh, no can do! I’m never going to vote for THAT ONE.” Hee hee, my husband gave me a high five. I hope I get more of these calls!

Here’s food for thought. I just heard that the latest poll in CA is now up to 22%.

  • Arabella Trefoil

This is going to be one crazy election. Bet Mass and New York go RED! McCain will win, but the combo of states he puts together will blow everyone’s mind.

Obama is now trying to shore up his dwindling base of support. Note – he is NOT going for undecided voters. Because he has no margin of safety (he’s not 10 – 15 points ahead) this is not a winning strategy.

Turn out is the key – but unlike most elections, turn out will benefit McCain.

    Vote!

RALLY AT SUPREME COURT FOR PHIL BERG!!
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 30, 2008 AT 3:00 PM EST

Everyone that can, grab your signs and please be at the steps of the Supreme Court at 3:00 PM this afternoon! The things to go on the signs will be listed below. We need as large a Crowd as we can get to be waiting at the steps of Supreme Court for Mr. Berg, the person meeting him at the Train Station as well as Will Bower who will be there to accompany him there. Fox News will also be at the Train Station and will follow them all the way to the Supreme Court, filming everything.

Remember to be loud, but RESPECTFUL as this is about having the Supreme Court hear us and grant us what we are asking for, proof that Obama is eligible to run for the Office of President, our Commander In Chief. Chant Speech, Speech, Speech when you see Mr. Berg. He will either speak before he goes into the Court, unless he needs to go in immediately, if so he will speak when we comes out. He will stop and acknowledge everyone that is there and thank you for your support, if he doesn’t have time for a speech right then!!

DO NOT yell anything negative about Obama. You can yell that “Obama needs to show he is eligible”, Why the Secrecy Surrounding Obama”, “Obama Release Certified Copies Of Your Records and Papers” and you can chant over and over “Uphold Our Constitution, Defend it, We The People Demand It”.

    SIGNS:

    1. McCain Supporter’s For The Constitution

    2. Obama Supporter’s For The Constitution

    3. Uphold And Defend Our Constitution

    4. American’s For The Constitution

  • Patrick

Note that Gallup was +3/+7 yesterday, today it is +5/+7, which INCLUDES the solid Monday of polling that Obama had…So, look for Gallup to go back down again tomorrow. I do not believe a single undecided voter watches a 30 minute infomercial to decide who he/she should vote for. That thing will have ZERO effect.

Yesterday’s Ras poll showed that McCain is now winning in terms of trust re: taxes and the economy. That’s a huge shift.

  • AnninCA

    I think so.

I think people are connecting jobs with small business needs.

    They “get” it.

I’d love for them to “get” it about capital gains, too, but that’s probably asking for too much.

  • Phillymiss

No one believes me, but I think McCain can take Pennsylvania. Barky is still running alot of ads here — if he’s ahead by double digits, as our local papers say, he shouldn’t even be campaigning here.

There is a parade here tomorrow — there’s supposed to be at least a million people!

Unfortunately, my husband is still voting for Barky — hope I can talk him out of it this weekend.

The why’d he tape did come out.

Why’d he always politic for race if he was post-racial?
Why’d he run as a socialist candidate?
Why’d he want to “break free from the restraints of the Constitution?”
Why’d he pal around with so many corrupt people?
    Why’d he flip-flop on everything?
Why’d he have to make running for the president cost more than ever?
    Et cetera.
    Why’d he…?

It’s odd. SHE was the one in MAY that drug my butt down to the polling place to change our affiliation to UNA (unaffiliated) in NC.

At that time she had no plans to vote for anyone. When Mack chose Sarah she brightened up and still is when she watches her but she is also SICK of the lies (she’s been hearing them from both sides for decades as she’s 84)

She has voted D her whole life (aside from McGovern) and just can’t bring herself to vote for any republican.

She’s wise enough I suppose to realize that with the Hero Mack and Kick butt Sarah also comes the REST of the R’s still around and having people like Delay on tv just makes her more sick. I even had to turn off the tv last night. Some of them I will NEVER forgive.

    period

I can’t make her mail in her absentee even though she did fill it out and Mack is the one she picked. But she needs a 3rd person to sign the envelope. She’s not asking anyone and said she doesn’t plan to now. Weird I know.

She’s 50 percent Stubborn Scot with a bit of the fighting Irish and another almost 50 percent German so changing her mind could never be accomplished unless I make it look like HER decision. And she’s too clever for me. LOL

Same situation in my family. I am hoping that there will be many O no-shows on election day to cancel out our family members!

I have lived in PA for 41 years and can state emphatically that Pennsylvanians are a wonderful, multifarious, “salt-of-the-earth” populous whose work ethic, religious values vs. familial principles are beyond reproach. Accordingly, I cannot and will not believe that these wonderful people could or would be fooled by this liar/fraud (Obama) who refuses to devulged “WHO HE IS”!!!! His friends, associates, pastors (past and present) are/were the under-belly of society and typically are/were aligned w/criminals, terriorists, or haters of this great Country.

So, I will try to keep the faith and hope that these good and wonderful people are not fooled by the mellifluous fabrications of this anti-Semetic, anti-American, anti-US Constitution, anti-Bill of Rights JERK!

  • Typical White Person

    McCain 270
    OBlowhard 268

Obama loses Pennsylvania, loses Nevada, and wins Colorado. McCain wins the Bush states except for Colorado, Iowa, and New Mexico and it looks like its tied 269-269, but McCain wins 1 electoral vote in Maine (the state splits it’s votes) resulting in victory.

  • Dawnelle Leona del Puma

  • DeaninMi

I think you’re still eligible to vote in Ohio.

(snark, as if you needed me to say.)

  • DeaninMi

    Okay.

Leave it to me to state the obvious.

If an NBC poll shows Obama up by only 4 points, you can bet McCain is really ahead by at least that much.

  • Phillymiss

Well, there are so many Bots here I am suprised they don’t erect a shrine for him, but the parade is for the 2008 WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONS PHILADELPHIA PHILLIES!

Senator Obama is up by 5% or less in Florida, North Carolina, Missouri and Ohio. The states all have something in common – 5 to 7% of their voters are undecided.

In Colorado, Nevada, Virginia, New Mexico and Pennsylvania, Senator Obama is leading by 6 to 10%. Once again, 5 to 7% of the voters are undecided.

If an undecided voter was going to throw caution to the wind and vote for the new candidate, the untried candidate, the candidate with an unconventional or murky past (depending on your view) – they would have already fallen into the Obama camp. But they haven’t, they’re still claiming to be undecided.

You know these people. You’ve gone to the ice cream shop with them. You’ve stood in line with them while they’ve debated and agonized over a cone with strawberry cheesecake, creole cream cheese, banana nut or chocolate. Which do they choose when they make it up to the counter? The tried and true, chocolate.

The undecided want to break out and try something new, something untested, something completely different and exotic. But when it comes time to sign on the dotted line, they go for chocolate. Every single time.

We also know that Republicans are more reliable when it comes to voting. So are the over 50 crowd.

The undecided under 40 crowd who are leaning towards Senator Obama are more likely to stay home next Tuesday if they haven’t figured out who to vote for. The media has told them Senator Obama has already won, they’ll stay home so they don’t have to take responsibility for choosing the wrong president. Those who tend to vote Republican and the over 40 crowd who are independents or tend to vote for Democrats who are undecided today are going to go for the sugar cone with chocolate on the 4th, not the exotic waffle cone with scoops of banana nut and creole cream cheese.

At this point, the undecided need more from Senator Obama to vote for him. He had his chance last night to give it to them in his half hour informercial. He didn’t do it. He’s given them no incentive to choose strawberry cheesecake over chocolate.

Add in the margin of errors in the polls, every one of those states mentioned above are just as likely if not more likely to go red on Tuesday night than they are blue.
