Feet to the Fire

webfeettofiretoon_edited-2.jpg

Congratulations, Senator Obama.

And yet, we will all be watching. Very closely.

Will you make good on the promises that will make for a better life for all of us? (It’s difficult to pin down the specifics because there were so few of them.) We will be watching.

Will you appoint experienced people with integrity to help you learn your job? We will be watching.

We wish you well, we really do. Our country needs positive change. But, we will be watching. Very closely.

I just sent a letter to Obama’s campaign asking them when I can start my community service for free school. I need to finish my degree.

    My predictions:

    (1) No he won’t make good on predictions.
    (2) No he won’t appoint people with integrity. He thinks he’s perfect and he thinks he needs no real help. He’ll just appoint his cronies and we’ll have nothing but old-style-chicago crooked politics nationwide now

McCain could have won this if Larry Johnson only had a more tv friendly haircut and could have spoken truth to power.

Alas, no Maverick for us. I blame Indiana especially. Larry Bird, Dave Letterman, all of them. I think they got brainwashed by “the one”, and they voted against their interests.

I also believe that John McCain was sure to put liberals on the court, but now we are doomed. It’s just depressing. I have gone through 3 bags of cheetos.

Another thing……… You would think that he would want to go out to Hawaii during this time to pay respects to his grandmother….Has anyone seen any news on that?

The giant orange stupid is working hard trying to ignore the many kicks in the teeth from obama only hours after the election.

It’s gonna get even uglier. The more obama kicks them in the teeth the more the oborg lash out at everything not obama.

I’m not taking his money to be his slave.

I will not be filing taxes for 4-8 years or more.

Certianly. Focus on the “whitey tape.”

It helps the oborg ignore the fact obama threw them under the bus with wright, ayers and the rest long ago.

Yeah, as soon as they are no longer exposed to the daily hopey changey platitudes and promises to keep then high, they’ll start to deflate. Like the ones who are beside themselves with little to do today other than to pester and annoy.

Now that the back peddling has started again, I feel it’s a good time to bring back the old Bush bumper sticker “Don’t Blame Me I Didn’t Vote For Him”. So much about Bush seems to fit.

Of course we can. We can document everything on him. Every single thing he does that contradicts what he said. Every single word and action. That is the only way we will be able to keep things from completely falling apart in this country. I am sure none of you want this country to fall apart.

They have to. Orders from the campaign.

How about reporters and journalists examine the man that is going to shortly have the power of the world’s largest military and economy?

    Just an idea.

KEEP THE REPORTERS AND JOURNALISTS DISTRACTED UNTIL JANUARY 20th!!

And how about following up on our election process? Voter fraud, perhaps? Illegal campaign contributions?

    Just an idea.

KEEP THE JOURNALISTS AND REPORTERS FED WITH DAILY STORIES ABOUT PALIN AND JOE!!!

How about looking into why so many stories, videos, audio, and images about Barack Obama have been suppressed by the mainstream media for almost 2 years?

Two dates in 2009 will have special significance in 2009, July 4 and December 25.
July 4 because we celebrate the birth of our nation with the signing of the Declaration of Independence. Since we don’t celebrate the ratification of the Constitution it will have to do. Obama will strip TELCO immunity from the FISA re-authorization bill he voted for. The kwel-ade drinking O-bots tell us he had to vote yes in order to win and he would make it right. We will be watching and waiting.
Christmas day will have a special meaning for those of us that celebrate it because our friends and loved ones will be home or on their way home from Iraq. He did say that in order to get votes during the primaries, didn’t he? Same thing, he had to appear tough to get votes so he said the troops would stay as long as necessary. Now that he’s in he will keep his promise, won’t he? He wouldn’t lie to us like all those other politicians, would he? He did say he is the candidate of hope and change.

Oh I get the Emanuel pick:

In terms of management and interpersonal style, Emanuel is strikingly different from Obama. He is dramatic and partisan, with an affinity for the kind of hardball politics from which Obama shies away. That may be part of the attraction, some say.

“Ultimately, Barack would rather be the good cop than the bad cop,” said the Obama insider, who spoke on condition of anonymity. “He knows what his strengths and weaknesses are. He wants Rahm in there to play that role.”

Emanuel gets demoted from influential congressman to Barki’s slave.

  • mkm125

Here’s the irony of the “Whitey Tape”–there could be a tape that exists with Obama himself spewing what was alleged to be on the tape–however, it would have been ignored just like everything else during this election. Far more incendiary issues have been raised regarding BO and blatantly ignored. The “tape” of Michelle is a non-issue and deemed one long ago. Remember, minorities are “allowed” to rail against the establishment, most notably, the white establishment.

Also, did it occur to any of you that like to come to this site JUST to ask about the tape that it may exist and John McCain was above using it? He kept his word and refused to use Rev. Wright………hmmmmm, could it be that John McCain has integrity.

  • CB

Was his rationale that we have too many paid holidays already for those on the public payroll?

Is MLK, Jr.’s birthday a national holiday? I’ve never gotten a day off from private industry if that is the case. We even combine Washington and Lincoln on President’s day.

  • mkm125

Heard on NPR today that Emanuel has more power in his current position in Congress, but turning down the position as Chief of Staff would reflect poorly on Obama at this early stage! Looks like he’s being “played” too!

  • Strawberrybitch

Yup and that’s why he lost, people with honour and integrity get the shaft everytime…I wonder if it’s worth raising my kids to do the right thing, hell if I want them to be successful and rich, I need to teach them to take after Obama.

  • mkm125

Oops–should have read the link first–it states:

“It would be embarrassing for the president-elect to be so publicly turned down on his first major appointment, they said.”

    Thanks for the link.

  • CB

So Emanuel is going to play the role that MEchelle plays at home–hardball for The Precious?

They keep attacking Sarah because she is a threat–too appealing to the “lower classes.” Too effective as a governor. She didn’t attend Ivy League schools.

BTW, the fact that she was found innocent of trumped up “Trooper” charges was buried on the back pages.

Now I’m pleased that these yellow-journalism, propagandists papes are going under.

Karma. Simple karma. BO has a lot of bad karma for which to atone. I am not counting on his noting it.

Pathological liars do it that way. It always work better that way because it validates and encourage their tendency to feed the pathos.

That is why Pat Racimora’s point,

We wish you well, we really do. Our country needs positive change. But, we will be watching. Very closely.

really doesn’t work and won’t work for me. You cannot wish well to a pathological liar because it is antithetical and paradoxical. Mostly this people end in bankruptcy. It is so ironic that we elected a person with this sickness as President. It is like wanting self-destruction. What’s funny is that “wishing well” really means ‘let the bankruptcy come quickly.’

I understand what Pat Racimora mean because when Bush got elected in 2000 I wished him well for the same reason. But then wishing him well meant that Laura would keep him company day and night and she did. That was our luck, that Laura kept him in a strict regiment with his pills and read him his night stories. The question is…

Can Michelle keep Barry from holding the line on tax increases? I don’t think so. I think Michelle will eventually contribute to accelerate our bankruptcy.

    We’ll see.

  • Galt’s Voodoo Doll Emporium

I don’t think self employed people can collect unemployment even if they pay into it? Maybe I am wrong. But I get your point. Lets see how much damage they really do. The Dems gained control of both houses on 06 and never ended the war as promised. So we know they are full of hot air. And don’t forget the lobbyists are welcome under Opampers, Pelosi and Reid.

    warm up the tow truck

    November 5, 2008
    ________________________________________

No. I did not vote for Barack Obama for President. Just to get that out of the way.

But I do have AAA so I stand ready to order a tow truck, if needed. I will serve if called.

It was suggested this morning that, as roused up as the Obama camp is today and as ordained and destined as the candidate has always seemed to feel, there is a possibility that he will “over-reach” and find that all the votes for his election were not votes for his philosophy or his specific platform, even among those who know the contents of his platform. It’s possible. As we’re just observed, anything is, literally, possible. We just elected a man who’s run for president longer than he’s done anything else, including serve in the Senate. On a wing and a prayer and $640,000,000 (and counting). So, sure, anything is possible.

Remember after 2004, GWB’s claim that he had been given a mandate?! That he had a bucket of “Political Capital” and he was going to spend it?! In a razor thin election?

So, we will see if, like Bush, Obama over-reaches, though I don’t know what that accomplishes. Now that he’s been elected, we’d better hope he isn’t what he seems and is, somehow, what he says. Though I remain convinced that many of his voters are not fully aware of what kind of “change” the man has in mind. So, there might be some shocks in store.

We will see what we see as President-Elect Obama drives his shiny new bike out into traffic.

A few thoughts on the lay of the land ahead, littered with land mines as it is.

Who are Reid and Pelosi going to point to now when the foobar hits the fan? People seem to forget that they were in charge of Congress while they claim Bush was destroying the country (no plug for Bush, look what he just did to his party, flushed it, for the time being). Now, they’re really in charge. The government is theirs. The U.S. Congress is the Demo’s playpen, the only political entity in the world with a lower approval rating than GWB. And there’s nobody in the Big House down the hill to kick up a fuss.

Okay, let’s review. We now know, beyond question, that Barack Obama can organize (and obfuscate) with the best of them. And, we’ve reinforced that tried and true adage, “You’ll never go broke underestimating the taste (intelligence) of the American people.”

I had people saying even last week that Barack Obama never even knew Bill Ayers at all and we were just making it up. I’m sorry. But, that is beyond the pale.

As for the hyenas circling the blog sites, hoping for a chance to dash in and grab some raw meat to drag back to their cave, today – the day after – is, indeed, a brand new day. There are no racists to blame, no back-woods, illiterate “clingers” to snicker at over foie gras at the Embarcadero in San Francisco, no devils in Elephant suits.

Just them. The disciples and their Supreme Leader. The One we’ve all been waiting for. Well, not me, but I guess a whole lot of other people.

How many of them even know who Woodrow Wilson was, much less that Obama’s words about the flaws in the U.S. Constitution, it’s failure to set out what your country has to do for you (is JFK rolling over about now) and the failure of the Supreme Court to “interpret” the document as requiring the government to redistribute income, come straight from Wilson’s mouth and the other “progressives” of his time (yes, there have been “progressives” before today). That his organizing and power concepts come straight from Saul Alinsky and some even echo that old favorite, The Chairman of the Board, comrade Mao. This is not new stuff. Spreading the wealth around, taking from the rich to give to the poor to grow your economy? It doesn’t work.

And, it’s a very old idea. Nothing “new” or “original” about it.

Just like his “Just Words” and “Audacity” speeches, ripped off from Deval Patrick, his Axelrod client running buddy. Yes we can? Try “Si” for starters. Benito Mussolini. The Civilian Security Force? Try the Fruits of Islam, neighbor Louis Farrakhan. For a man who is composed of nothing but “new ideas” it’s disturbing that even his “new ideas” aren’t new at all, merely rehashed stuff he picked up hanging with the radicals and Marxist professors and others he (in his words, not mine) sought out at Columbia and elsewhere (though now, of course, we’re not allowed to know who any of them were, or who any of his friends were, or even the subject of his senior thesis, much less his actual course records).

He’s studied his part well. The role of The Candidate. Now to appear in the sequel, The President of the United States, staring Barack Obama.

I have been known to joke around, only half-facetiously, that Martin Sheen was not really the President. That this is not a TV show. It’s the real thing. Barack Obama makes a great American Idol contestant if the contest was to imitate a Presidential candidate.

Maybe that’s what we want today, as a nation. A “personality” to run the country, or at least to make us all feel just glorious for a while, before reality comes back in, slamming the door open.

Maybe it’s like eating a tub of ice cream when you’re feeling down and dreary. Understandable, but clearly self-destructive. Especially if you’re already fat, as we are on play money.

I thought, when the country elected George W, they were pulling one of the more “boneheaded” moves I’d ever seen. GWB had never been successful in anything. He’d ruined a baseball team and an oil company. But, at least he’d been a Governor. It’s an executive position. So is running a pro sports team or an oil company even if he wasn’t great at it. At least he had a record of trying that we could then judge for ourselves. I found it wanting. Others didn’t. Basically, I thought GWB was a disaster waiting to happen (which he eventually proved) (and, to balance this, I was no great fan of Gore or Kerry, either one – the (formerly) Democratic Party has demonstrated an amazing ability over the years, against all odds, to nominate the dreariest bunch of candidates (Clinton being the exception to almost all the rules) – until this year, when we got decidedly non-dreary, though they could probably have run an actual donkey and won – due to a severe case of National Bush Fatigue)).

But, back on point, even compared to GWB, with a rating in the toilet, this Obama fellow is totally lacking in anything more than an ego and a finely tuned set of vocal chords. It remains astounding to me that people, in great droves, apparently, have really handed the tiller of the Ship of State to someone who has, literally, never done anything. He’s a bull horn (with emphasis on the bull) in a union hall, promising to take down the “man” and make everybody rich. Good luck with that. You can’t exactly harness the rich to a stock and ask them to walk around in a circle all day to grind your corn, or to print your money. Won’t work. Never has.

And, you know something very interesting. To this day, through all of this, for these long months, as I’ve repeatedly asked my associates and friends who said they liked Obama for the Presidency, to tell me what in his background recommended him for the job — to this day, nobody’s answered the question (not with a rational answer). Because, simply, there isn’t one.

So, obviously there’s a disconnect here, at least for me. Yes, I do believe it’s become a sound bite, eat whatever you’re fed by the talking bobbleheads, American Idol, Next Great Model world. Where you come out of nowhere, or the Dairy Queen in Oshkosh, and we pick you and you’re the Next Great Thing.

How do most Next Great Things make it? Great singers? Successful models? Actors? Directors? Painters? Doctors? Plumbers? A lot of hard work and the paying of dues, working their way up, learning and proving themselves.

Michelle Obama said it best when asked about BHO running for President, “It’s too soon, he hasn’t done anything.” You’d think that would have been the end of it. If you don’t trust her opinion about him, whose do you trust? By the way, he said the same thing himself but, as we know, he’s been issued a “Say Anything” card allowing him to say something else and deny he ever said anything different, without penalty. So, okay, we’ll quote Michelle. Same thing.

So, okay, I’m just on the wrong side of this one.

Not only did I not vote for Barack Obama, I couldn’t think of a single reason that I should vote for him. I couldn’t even conjure up a circumstance under which I thought I would vote for this man to lead the free world. The very notion was absurd.

As it was to Hillary when it was first broached to her in Iowa, one of the great unguarded moments of this entire campaign. I don’t remember the exact words and can’t find the quote quickly, but, I’ll paraphrase. It was something like, “Get serious.”

I agreed with Hillary then. I still do.

And I will leave you all with this. My thanks for pushing on, for soldiering on through the flak that we have all taken from the foul mouthed jackals on the web and on the street.

And this: The minority is not always wrong.

So, stick around. If these fools run this country into the ground while looking up, for the heavens to open, somebody’s going to have to drive the tow truck to haul their asses out.

    As always,

    Stand up!

There is a long complicated story behind John McCain’s view on MLK day. He was initially against the holiday and later a proponent. McCain said he regretted his initial 1983 vote against the holiday. I think it clearly shows integrity when you can state you were “wrong.”

Yes, some of these folks see the hammer and sickle looming over this nation and are going to invest somewhere else. Prepare for “stagflation”. We had 12% inflation with Carter. I am using Carter because he was the last “great society” progressive minded President we elected. Look at the prime rate today at 1%. Under Carter it was 21.5%. Try financing anything when banks charge each other 21.5% for money. Things could be a lot worse and Obama voters will learn the hard way.

  • Aleph

Oh the dying grandmother with cancer that he denounced as a racist. Where do people get the part about him being “a good family man.”

  • Hope

    Great comment.
    Good to remember:

The minority is not always wrong.

  • lark

    just an empty suit

Not quite. Don’t kid yourself. The empty suit was a very smart chameleon strategy to blur differences with his opposition. That’s over.

  • Aleph

Maybe it’s four years for you but most of us have just lived through 8 years of hell.

  • Galt’s Voodoo Doll Emporium

Have you ever bothered to read who pays for that site? Its hardly an unbiased source, idiot.

  • Docelder

Unfortunately, young men and young women will be discovering themselves in Pakistan if not in Russia.

    Once again Indiedog–great comments!

Why won’t anyone hold Larry Johnson’s feet to the fire?

He LIED to you all about the Whitey Tape. You all know he did.

    Where is his accountability?

Or IHATEOBAMASOMUCHMUSLIMHUSSEINHUSSEINHUSSEIN so powerful that lying is AWESOME as long as you lie about the right person?

It’s no lie. The BOBO sold out the forth amendment. LOL but you whine and cry about the whitey tape

  • KathyNeocon

I think I’ll make a huge batch of popcorn in January, sit back and watch Obama work his magic, radiate greatness, eminence and his omnipotence in getting the U.S. “there” as he repeatedly said in his jibber jabber speech last night. And while he’s working his magic, I can be treated to millions of bleary-eyed sycophantic Obots.

Of course Barry never said where or what “there” is…we’ll find out next year.

  • WildChild

Think of all that money the Europeans wasted on the chunnel when the BOBO can part the sea.

  • Strawberrybitch

Don’t you have a life? Let it go, dude. Barky won. Geez. Obsess much?

  • obama_never

hillbuzz is axelrod turfing at it’s finest. They are now saying Obama is America’s president. Sorry, he is a complete fraud. He is a liar, associates with known terrorists, PLO organizers, and criminals. He will never be my president.

  • Hope

    This possibility was particularly interesting,

As a usurper, Congress would be unable to remove you from the Office of the President on Impeachment, inviting certain political chaos including a potential for armed conflicts within the General Government or among the States and the People to effect the removal of such a usurper.

    Thanks for the link, Maria.

  • lark

You know Dolcelder people will learn about my theory the hard way and it is that we did change the world with the internet and it is a different place now. Columbus really set sail for a shorter route to China. He bumped into America by accident. For 500 years all routes and people’s desires pointed to America. That will stop now and actually the reverse may become true. A 500 year trend may end and we may face a Mayan or Aztec kind of history. And believe me, our country is basically only 235 years old or so as established. Mayans, Incas and Aztecs were even longer lasting but faded away because of isolation. Look at the globe and you’ll see. There is no need for EuroAsia, Africa and Australia to look to America for anything anymore. So what that means? It means we better start learning to deal hard bargains. I’ll stop there.

  • Docelder

Maybe because it’s a “christian” holiday celebrating the birth of Jesus… but that’s just an obvious first guess.

  • KathyNeocon

I have some things I’d like to write to Obama in that letter, but it’s probably not a good idea. ;-)

  • KathyNeocon

I’m much more concerned about the LIES FROM THE PRESIDENT-ELECT OF THE UNITED STATES, thank you very much. This Nation is in the flim-flammers hands.

Larry provides us with place where we can actually speak our minds and learn the truth. I’m sure ObamaNation will attempt to shut us down when His Eminence moves into the White House. BRING IT ON!!! :D

  • lark

Not to worry. Between the gym and Ramadan he would have disappeared by Dec. 1st.

  • KathyNeocon

LOL!!! Maybe he can use his powers to part Wilshire Blvd. here in LA to put a light rail in between Downtown and Santa Monica. Help us Obama!!!

  • torland077

That is par for the course. McCain’s campaign staff lost and so they are looking for someone to blame to deflect it from themselves. They want a chance to run a campaign again so they are trying to fix blame on Sara. She actually saved there asses and kept them in this thing.

They are stupid cause their best chance for a national campaign job now is going to be with Palin. She is a rising star.

  • Docelder

    America’s president

Just look at the electoral map. He is the “president” for the Northeast and the far West… The rust belt and farm welfare state Iowa… yes and now socialist Florida.

  • robert

I simply don’t know where Obama and company are going to find this wealth to redistribute. The wealthy can afford to move to Canada and Europe and probably will. A small island in the South of France looks good right about now. I wish I could move in with Lady Lynn de Rothschild. It’s going to be rough on those of us who are broke.

  • Hope

How will you feel if this tape is released showing the world how classy your First Lady is?
You are ignoring the possibility that McCain or someone who did not want McCain to win did stop it’s release and now that he is not running, that may change.
Either way, it does no good for you to continue to bring it up..it just perpetuates that image of her.
Furthermore, have you considered how hypocritical it is for an Obama supporter to chastise anyone for believing a lie?
Haven’t you learned yet to be careful what you wish for?
If not, you most certainly will.

  • Hope

That is above his pay grade. You need a mayor or Governor for that.

  • Hope

Where’s he going to continue to find $25,000,000 a month to manage his image?

  • Docelder

What is the best website for Americans looking into emigration? Where are the best places to go? etc. Also to consider is possibly somewhere in Texas or Alaska. I am looking into this myself, but have a Florida house to sale… which immediately is not happening. Funny thing, I always had thought the U.S. was the best place to raise kids. I am no longer certain about that. But, it has to be looked at now. Not out of bitterness, but out of responsibility.

  • Docelder

Read who factcheck.org is. But, you would be right that nobody cares about anything other than the “symbolism” surrounding Obama. Nobody cares for the reality of Obama… yet.

  • rickrickrick

The Fresno Bee exit poll said 7 out of 10 Black voters voted yes on prop 8 in California. While they turned out in record numbers to vote for the first African American President their’s and Latino votes made GAY Marrige illegal in California Again.

Let all your LGTB friends who voted for OBAMA know that he screwed them again.

  • Docelder

Why so? Clinton promised a middle class tax cut. I remember because in late 1993 he passed a large tax increase and made it retroactive through January of that year. I remember it so well because I was underpaid on the quarterly tax payments for the entire year because of the retroactive nature of the passed tax increase. But, I can take solace that as Bill was playing his saxophone… he was simultaneously “feeling my pain”. So yes, questioning Obama’s tax cuts is not stupid at all. Though expecting them may prove to be.

  • http://firefox Annie

Yes, the rich have “vacations” in the Cayman Islands and spend time in Switzerland. I remember one person who lived in our vicinity was said to travel around to 13 different houses. I certainly don’t mind that they pay their fair share though taxes…but most have big accounting firms to take care of all that nonsense. How will Barry give up all those donations? And I don’t mean the non-existent $5 ones.

  • Annie

Stay in America – why? Because America is going to need all intelligent beings to keep on fighting for justice, truth and the old American way.

    Thank God for No Quarter…

    What is happening with ACORN?
Then the Fannie Freddie mess which got us into this financial mess….
    So much to do…

Strange thing – here I am – I have been in this site and others as “Annie” since the beginning of the year and now all of a sudden there is another”Annie” here – talking about the Caymen Islands above. I thought our identity on this site was solid and not shared?

How did this happen – anybody else have it happen?

The traffic is a nightmare where I live. Maybe he can raise his arms wide and the clouds will open and the traffic snarls will magically disappear. No 90 minute commutes anymore. “I believe. I believe in fairies.” Oh, sorry that’s Peter Pan, wrong nighty night story.

  • Docelder

It may fuel an industry whereby people “telecommute” from home to foreign companies and the money would be direct deposited into a foreign bank.

  • Aleph

Oh there will be tax cuts for all when everyone loses their job.

I have two friends who have kids who emigrated to Australia and they love it. There are age restrictions and such though. The only place you can waltz in is the USA.

with all due respect mkm, npr doesn’t impress me at all anymore. well for that matter nothing the media says or writes impresses me.

i did see three possibilites for secretary of state. kerry, richardson and lugar. i think kerry will get it. richardson has some real enemies. lugar? please!

we will see the democratic old guard in charge. all those obots who thought it was a “new” time are in for a big surprise. the far right thought they’d get more than a bone here and there, but it didn’t really happen that way.

  • KathyNeocon

Yeah I need a vacation. Have some home improvement projects to be taken care of as well. Hey Obama–where’s my check?

  • andrew191

In his speech last night he said “We’ll get there”, it may take more than a year, even more than one term, but we’ll get there. He kept saying we’ll get there. Ummmmm……… GET WHERE? ?

  • KathyNeocon

    to hell maybe?

  • athena

Well I was going to try and grow my business this year – but now it just does not make sense.

    Keep up the humour please.

Points are made much better when they are funny also.

    Cheers

    So what?

  • Geo

Obama has accomplished nothing. He stepped into a well oiled (SOROS) Chicago political machine and the MSM gave him the red carpet treatment. Michelle Obama admitted that Barry would not run for Pres. because “he hadin done notin yet”.

  • jbjd

Phew! At least 3 of us were right…

  • I have a bracelet 2
  • Geo

That site is very odd to say the least. Many of the postings seem artificial. Especially the donations page. So many happy contributors at the fine work that HillBuzz did to get those PUMA’S boots on the ground in OH and PA.

No pictures of PA, no names of people, no count of how many went, no disclosure on how much was collected.

    Very odd.

  • Mr. Natural

This entire episode is straight out of an old Mission Impossible TV show. Grandma’s actually been dead for months, years, hell, who knows? She’s embalmed, stuffed, whatever. If she’d ever been needed David Axelrod would have wheeled her out to a balcony, far above and away from press photographers. He would have waved her arm with a plexiglass rod attached to her sleeve. Her dying on election eve was too, too, too, too precious. Unbelievable rubbish. Just unbelievable.

  • Mr. Natural

    Senator Ted Stevens has it.

  • Mr. Natural

Obama will strip TELCO immunity from the FISA re-authorization bill he voted for.

Even if he wanted it, he won’t waste what little political capital he has fighting for something which is to him as insignificant as our Constitutional rights. So there’s not a chance that he’ll even try to get that from our bipartisan frauds in Congress.

So of course, we’ll be treated to another murmured chorus of “I’m disappointed…” from his creepy toadie horde.

  • Mr. Natural

The best description I’ve seen of John Kerry and his lousy ’04 campaign compared him to those crabby old apple throwing trees in the Wizard of Oz.

  • Mr. Natural

    Your wallet.

  • Clara Barton

Who is going to be the firekeeper that holds his feet to the fire? No one has done it thus far, and we the people are surely shut out of having our voices heard. With Rahm Emanuel guarding the door, NO ONE will get in to ask questions.

  • Pat Racimora

I drew this cartoon before it was likely that Rahm Emanuel would be Obama’s COC. I met R.E. once and was also witness to a verbal melee he had with a congressinal candidate who disagreed with an unkind statement that R.E made. Yikes–talk about arrogance and a temper!

Also, when R.E was head of the DCCC, he made some dumb allocations of funds for Democratic congressional candidates who were unlikely to win and gave nothing to some who could haev win with a little extra help. Ho hum–and so it goes again.

  • Pat Racimora

LOL–I had to look again. I did put 6 fingers on him once, and didn’t notice until it was WAY too late.

  • Pat Racimora

Agreed Robert. As my so-called “wealthy” (over 250k per year) friend said, “My portfolio has decreased by 60% in two months and may not be finished going down yet. I am not sure where they are going to find what they what they want to give away.”

Furthermore, he lives in San Jose where his small house that would cost $150k in the Midwest (and have a much bigger yard)costs over a million.

    It makes little sense.

  • tzada

Speaking of his appointments…..notice this his chief of staff pick Rahm Emanuel’s father was a radical terrorist. Is this all BO knows radicalism?

Is Rahm North America Mossad leader? If so do we need someone so polarized in the White House. Will his Russian roots or his prior life or his radical Zionist father influence the presidency? We all should ask these questions and demand vetting of this man and the man who would be president.

Welcome back from your trip, Pat. I’m sure we can count on you to be the pres-elect’s footwarmer.:)

After the delerium over the election of the country’s first black president settles down and people realize what a dreadful mess the new president has inherited, I think we need to hope he will really try to bring the country together to solve the many pressing problems which will demand his attention.

His abrasive style aside, Rahm has a record of getting things done. Let’s hope the choices he makes for his cabinet will be wise ones, as this will have great impact on his ability to accomplish his objectives. It may be politically important to include some supportive Republicans to assist him in reaching across the aisle to get bills passed in Congress.

I say let’s give the man a chance and don’t sell him short merely because we may have wished for a different election result.
