Well you know we were for benchmarks when Bush was still against them.

My how he's flip-flopped.

Only we've got two million benchmarks to count here and he's lost somewhere between nine billion of our benchmarks and twelve to twenty billion of the oil for food benchmarks.

I like that term "NoQuarterites." I feel like I've been away from the No Quarter family for a little while. This is my busy season in the O&G industry. Hopefully, by July, I'll be back to commenting and reading on a regular basis. Keep up the great television and radio appearances Larry! My best thoughts to you and Susan.

Thank you to ALL of you who visit here regularly, and keep us on our toes.

I often find I learn more from reading your comments than I found out researching a story.

And you're not afraid to challenge any of our assumptions or opinions. That's what makes for healthy dialogue that is a teaching experience.

(Re the food crisis: I'm still reading everything I can. Honestly, I feel overwhelmed by the info. And I've gotten more than a little frustrated with the blog posts that concentrate on all the shocking allegations -- of which there are so many -- but don't also highlight the hard work that many members of Congress are putting into solving this. E.g., the Senate passed the FDA Revitalization Act last week, with Durbin/Cantwell's food safety amendment. The blogs barely acknowledged this achievement. Some blogs didn't even note the passage. They'd rather rant.

(FYI: This bill goes to the House and will likely complete its legislative journey in June. It is an IMPERFECT bill, but the Senate had to make sure that Bush wouldn't veto it. And Durbin still plans to bring his Food Safety Act before the Senate. But since Bush's appointees head these agencies, we can only expect so much. Only more can be done in '09 if we -- please -- get a Democratic president who can appoint consumer-friendly commissioners and allot the budget/staffing increases that the FDA, etc. need.)

Many thanks from me too Larry and Susan. In my particular case, your site is excellent for getting rid of on-line, multi ID, anonymous harassers. Yesterday, I told the phantom that has been bothering me for several years that I was reading your site and getting ready to post a comment. He/she disappeared quick and hasn't been back since.

Mazel Tov to you all! I'm with Canuck, I check in 4+ times a day to see if there's a new post. But serious kudos to you all. Larry, I learned more from you about the inner workings of the CIA and the Plame affair. And Susan, you were the first, loudest and mostest covering the Chinese pet food scandal. And all of you are most neccessary in preserving what is left of our democracy. And, BTW, you also have some of the most well-informed and eruidite posters of any blog. Here's to 2 million more!
