Rasmussen: McCain Trusted More on Taxes and Economy

After several weeks of John McCain’s campaign attacks on Barack Obama’s tax plan and idea of “spreading the wealth around”, the latest Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds voters trust McCain more than Obama on taxes, 47% to 45%.

Two weeks ago, Obama had a one point-advantage on the issue of taxes and a month ago, he had a three-point edge. The last time McCain had the advantage on this issue was September 14, just before the collapse of Lehman Brothers started the meltdown on Wall Street (see trends).

Men favor McCain by a 51% to 43% margin when it comes to taxes, while women still trust Obama more, 48% to 43% (see crosstabs).

Voters now trust Obama overall on six out of ten electoral issues tracked by Rasmussen Reports. Two weeks ago, the Democrat holding the edge on seven issues. A month ago, Obama had the advantage on every issue.

McCain also has gained ground as the candidate to trust on economic issues. Forty-eight percent (48%) now trust the Republican hopeful more than the Democrat while 47% hold the opposite view. This is the first time McCain has led on the issue that has hurt his campaign since September 17. One month ago, Obama held a nine-point advantage when it came to economic issues.

The candidates are now tied on the issue of the War in Iraq, with each man trusted more than the other by 47% of voters. Earlier in the year, McCain held solid leads on the issue. However, two-weeks ago, Obama had a one-point edge. Men trust McCain more than Obama when it comes to Iraq, while women trust Obama.

Obama continues to hold solid advantages on his party’s strong points, such as education, health care and environmental issues.

A summary of these results and other key stats can be found on the By the Numbers page which is updated daily.

McCain also passed Obama on Social Security for the first time since early August. Voters now trust the GOP candidate more by a 45% to 44% margin. In the last poll, Obama outperformed the Republican 46% to 43%.

McCain holds the advantage on abortion for the second straight poll. Voters trust the Republican more, 46% to 40%. Men favor McCain more by 11 percentage points, while women are fairly evenly divided, favoring McCain by a 44% to 43% margin.

McCain is certainly outperforming the Republican Party when it comes to voter trust.

The link to the poll doesn’t seem to work….

    • Firefly

I voted at the link below – but the polls seems so much like the one 30 yr dem had the other day – sure hope it’s not the same one ’cause if so, I voted twice.

That reminds me to ask a question:

HOW IS EVERYBODY (especially in the swing states) GOING TO HANDLE THE EXIT POLLS ON NOV. 4? Or how did you handle it if you voted early?

      A) Tell the truth – and that truth is ___________
      B) Lie
      C) Refuse the poll
      D) Can’t imagine I’d be polled
      E) I don’t know yet
      F) Something else

I live in a small beach town in California and not only have I never been exit-polled, I’ve never even seen one – that’s why I’m wondering…

      • Monet

I live in a small Michigan beach town and have never seen an exit poll either. However, if I somehow stumble across an exit poll, I’ll tell the truth.

I am working my local polling station on Tuesday afternoon, handing out literature on how to write-in a candidate for a local office. I’m hoping the disgruntled Democrats who are voting McCain will be talkative and I can keep my own little tally of people are crossing party lines.

Thanks for this, Uppity. It still amazes me that Obama and Dodd were in bed with Fannie and Freddie, yet these people trust OBAMA more on economics? WTH, already? Makes no sense.

Anyway, glad to see that some people are putting down the Kool Aide!

    • Goblintrain

What i attribute this to is that there are millions of Americans that are just plain information starved. For many people tending to their responsibilities of work, home, & family end up isolated away from the information they would need to make an educated choice this election. Maybe they don’t have access to FNC or talk radio in the daytime. If they have internet, it can be very daunting to find trustworthy news sources online that offer balanced perspective. These are the people that have been hurt the most by the MSM’s betrayal of the American public in choosing a candidate for us instead of just reporting the facts so that we could choose for ourselves.

If you have access to good information you have a responsibility to get it & share it with any one who will receive it. Unfortunately there are millions who i think really can’t be blamed for making the wrong vote this election: they were systematically & consistently lied to by the 4th Pillar, and have no clue how dangerous Obama is!

Whoops, poor Bambam. His polls are beginning to slip:(. Guess will just have to shout “PRESIDENT JOHN MCCAIN and VICE PRESIDENT SARAH PALIN” :) :) :) !!!!!!!!

  • Mollye

Wonderful news. I never understood why anyone would trust someone as untested and unprepared as Obama, with matters of the economy or anything else! His double-cross on public campaign money, in addition to the way he has gone through $600,000,000.00, like it was water, should scare anyone!

    • imustprotest

So true. He’s not just a little lacking in experience…..He’s COMPLETELY lacking any experience AT ALL.

      • Andrew

No, Obama lacks a conscience. He would kill his kids to win. Lied About a sick granny to cover up his BC. He is a sociopath.

        • KathyNeocon

          And morals. He’s amoral.

          • Andrew

Obama could watch a million people die painful deaths just to be president. Heck he thinks throwing babies in the closet for dead is OK (they were just “punishments”). Really sounds bad but I’m sad that they didn’t have abortion in the sixties. Maybe Roe has its merits. (Can’t believe I’m saying that.) His mom or something really messed him up. Children shouldn’t be brought up in that kind of chaos. They turn out like lying Nobamas.

            • KathyNeocon

He likes that. The more hopeless, helpless, clueless, pathetic and downtrodden the better for him, and the more likely they’ll buy into his b.s. He sick. He’s like an a warlord or dictator of those poor African countries who drains their bank accounts, promises them the moon, and then shoots them in the back.

              • Andrew

What was the name of the dictator in the “Last King of Scotland.” What ever his name is, Obama is just like him.

                • KathyNeocon

                  Touche. Idi Amin.

    • Goblintrain

Lol, ya, & it was hilarious how he wouldn’t part with one red penny of it to help the Dems in their congressional races! :-P

    • FranSC

Yes, this Rasmussen poll is interesting, but I have just about had it with Scott Rasmussen. Ever since the economic collapse, Scott has been a broken record daily promoting how positive his poll is for Obama. He has given McCain supporters almost no hope in this election – for 5 weeks! Even in the face of McCain’s #’s rising Scott keeps saying, “this is the 37th day that BO’s numbers have stayed steady…blah…blah…blah.” When he is questioned, he comes back with, “well….it’s possible, but unless something drastic happens, I don’t see this changing.” While I am no polster, I do not understand why anyone would say the polls were accurate in this unprecedented volitile economic collapse environment when McCain’s #’s have gone up or down precisely with the stock market. I thought Rasmussen leaned republican. Wrong!

  • AF catfish

OMG this is actually happening. For the last week or so you could hear the momentum over the radio.

But for him to overtake Obama on the economy, and for them to be even on the Iraq war – game over.

    • AF catfish

Now he has to make up enough ground for all the fake Acorn votes.

    • Sarracuda

I hope to God McCain wins. I don’t agree with him on everything, but I trust him, and I ADORE Sarah, I can’t concentrate on anything else but this election, I can’t and WONT live in communism, I just won’t do it. I have never been more scared for my country then I am right now, I just hope people do the RIGHT thing and vote for John McCain

      • AF catfish

I can’t concentrate either – I think Obama is starting a race war, he will set back race relations (he already HAS set back race relations) I hate how he insists on these huge open rallies where people worry he might get hurt. It’s like he wants to be a martyr. I don’t want him even to be a martyr. I want him to go away.

He just casts this jittery mood over the whole country. And he makes everybody fret over protecting HIM instead of people protecting US.

And he will ruin the Democratic brand for decades.

        • FranSC

He has already ruined the dem “brand”. MoveOn.org has been bragging that they now “own” the dem party. I would agree with that assessment.

As former Sec of State Lawrence Eagleburger said today, Obama has been a candidate raising and spending irresponsible sums of money as well as getting fraudulent votes through acorn. He was saying you cannot call someone who does this honorable.

Much of the money has come from foreign and questionable sources as well as contributors going way over the legal limits. This election cycle has been disasterous.

        • Snickers

I think McCain/Palin will win. And I also think it’s over for the Democratic Party. Once the election is over and all the fraud is truly exposed I hope a lot of those that got us here, like Pelosi, Reid, Frank, Dodd, Kerry, et.al. either lose their races (if they are up for re-election) or will be investigated and forced to resign. The DNC will be in shambles and I doubt if even Bill and Hillary will be able to save it. Good riddance I say, as a former lifelong Dem.

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

The best thing we can ALL do is work the polls as a volunteer and REPORT anything you see that looks like fraud. I think the McCain camp has a number for it. I have to dig it up. But we ALL need to watch the cheating. OHitler did it in the Primary and I will NOT let him do it again.

  • terre

Normally in an election year, I’m glued to TV. but Obama has
taken over the airwaves the way he took over the blogs.
You can’t turn to a cable news channel without seeing Obama’s mug.
I think everyone is getting sick of this guy.

I have missgivings about both candidates, but McCain didn’t
declare war on his own party, and Obama did.
Therefore, I’ll be voting for McCain.

    • Andrew

I noticed that those little Google ads now ask about “Spreading the Wealth” and are anti-Obama. Looks like RNC bought up all of the Google ads. Check it out.

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Sarracuda…You and I think so much alike. I just think what a shame if it doesn’t work out that our gal, ‘Cuda, doesn’t get her shot. Talk about a dynamo. I LOVE HER. I don’t do ANYTHING but live, breath, eat, sleep this election. Funnily enough, for anyone who is LIBRA our November forecast says “get ready to move to another country.” I hate to hear that because that’s what I WILL do if OHitler wins.

    • KathyNeocon

I’m in a Libra. Hope that doesn’t ring true.

I tell you it won’t be true for me. I will stay here and fight for this country. Even if it means getting in those Obot’s fugly faces. I’ll do it.

      • Andrew

Maybe it is a message for bots that said they were leaving if McCain won. Besides, those things aren’t really valid. They have kooks in the back of little print shops come up with the astrology huey. No offense.

    • Sarracuda

I’m unfortunately in California but I had my sister register to vote, and she is voting for McCain(She is 23), I told her to also vote straight Republican, we are all voting straight Republican, I don’t care if I recognize the name or not, straight R’s all the way!! God forbid Obama wins, if he wins, yes we are planning on leaving too, especially if its a dem controlled house and senate, that would be Armageddon. Talked today to the real estate agent that found us our house(She remains good friends with us) she did confirm that she has been getting lots of people calling her asking about selling their homes and when she asks why they say “We have to leave the country if Obama wins” can you believe what this potential presidency has done to our country, people want to leave this great country. I love this country so much, and I don’t want to see it die, I really don’t, unfortunately we have to rely on those who have drank the Obama kool-aid and they won’t see the truth no matter what is put in their face, either they are too stupid to care or they just don’t care period. I know that my life has changed drastically because of this election. If Hillary had won the nomination, I would have been satisfied with either candidate winning, now, its all about saving this country from communism. I tell ya, I have never in my life been so obsessed with an election, in 2004, I voted for Bush because I couldn’t stand John Kerry, but if Kerry had won, I wouldn’t have minded, even though I thought he was a slimball, at least he didn’t have these radical associations and deep hatred for jews and whites. What I have learned this year is that women are second class citizens, the media portray us as trash, not worthy of serving higher power, and “divas.” isn’t that what they call Sarah, and speaking of Sarah, what she has gone through these past 2 months I wouldn’t wish on my worst enemy. I will move to Alaska, she can be my governor, I can’t even imagine the kind of hell she has gone through, I have actually cried hearing some of the things that have been said about her, people wearing Sarah is a C T-shirts, her CHILDREN saw that, imagine having to explain to Piper what a C is, they mock her beautiful son Trig, how dare they do that!! SNL pocks fun at her all the time, why, for wanting to make this country better for her children, no wonder good people never get into politics, now I see why. MSNBC, CNN, ABC, CBS, NBC, they will all have to answer to a higher power for what they have done and what might happen on Tuesday. God help us all of Obama wins, if Obama wins, we all LOSE

      • McHope

        Sarracuda,
You read my mind and heart.
        Thank you for your thoughts.

      • Goblintrain

I’ve lost a lot of sleep over this one too. McCain was my choice over Hillary, but ya, i could live with either. An Obama presidency is liable to test our resolve to survive for another election! :-)

MO#1 Make sure that Obama presidency never happens!

  • KXT

John Conyers is more upset about the leak about Obama Illegal resident AUtie Z. But is not outrage about the leak of a legal American citizen Joe The Plumber. Autie Z is gettign pulic housing while American citizens are on a long waiting list. No wonder Obama wnats to tax us more. We have to pay health care and hosuign cost for Illegal resident immigrants

    • Goblintrain

Still, the most disgusting part of this story is the fact that Obama just let her rot in squalor, never trying to help her, & now throws her under the bus when she becomes a liability to his campaign. Seems this is normal family relationships with him.

    • NoBamaNoWay

that pretty much says it all when it comes to what’s wrong with the whole obamacrat movement.
hardworking, law-abiding, patriotic american citizens have ALL been thrown under the bus for the likes of Ayres, Rezko, Wright, Acorn, and Aunt Zeituni.

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

If MCCAIN had an Auntie living for free, illegally, on the backs of American citizens, and sending some illegal contributions, he would be skewered. This whole election makes me puke.

As for staying and fighting for America if that jizzbrain conman OHilter wins? Not a chance. It means that Americans gave up on America and they’re so stupid that they deserve the sh*thole that this country will become. When the Obots grow up, having become poverty stricken and living in slums, and decide to get responsible, I will come back. Until then, this isn’t my country. I am DISGUSTED by the idiots (some of them my friends) voting for OHitler. If they want Cuba, let them have it.

    • Andrew

If McCain did that, the Repubs would barbacue him at his home in Sedona. Obots are listless and have no values.

    Off Topic:

This site has become so popular. I remember in May when it was a tiny little site. Now its giant and has a big new server. Maybe it is destined to become the new Huffington post sized blog. I mean, it certainly is large like that, but the people are more sensible. Even has a collection of editorial writers. I can see it now:

    Some news program:

It has just been reported on NO QUARTER that….We need to independently confirm this but this story is spreading all over the blogosphere.

    On Topic:

Saw somewhere that Obama isn’t getting church goers either. They know an wannabe anti-Christ when they see one. Probably wondering why its taking so long for the smiting to start. So on religion and the economy, McCain is winning; these are basically the two most influential issues in the country.

  • HARP

Update: Little Evidence of Surge in Youth Vote
Obama campaign has contacted about one in three 18- to 29-year-olds

PRINCETON, NJ — Gallup polling in October finds little evidence of a surge in young voter turnout beyond what it was in 2004. While young voter registration may be up slightly over 2004, the reported level of interest in the election and intention to vote among those under 30 are no higher than they were that year.

What’s more, 18- to 29-year-olds continue to lag behind Americans aged 30 and older on these important turnout indicators.

    • Andrew

Yep, all the kids are busy playing on their Wii. I just saw a new ad for a game that includes 60 different instruments. Cool, but I’d trade in all my stuff for an Obama loss. My mom was reading debate transcripts tonight and she had to stop every few minutes to keep from vomiting. She said “He sounds like he wants to be MLK but he is not, he is just a con man.”

      • AF catfish

Reading the transcripts gets people to wake up – Obama is NOT brilliant, he says bland stupid things.

    • Peggy Sue

Since I have kids in this age bracket, I can tell you Harp, without a doubt–very few in this age bracket will wait more than 15 seconds to vote. I read today that people were standing in line for hours and hours and hours.

It’s not going to happen with this age group beyond the political geeks. And I read that the Obamatrons “were concerned” with the low turnout in the same bracket for “early voting.” I sense the lines will be as bad, probably worse on Tuesday. Most kids this age will be sleeping in, then watch the returns coming in when they crawl out of bed.

    • TeakWoodKite

Dave: I’m the President, and as they say, the buck stops here. So I take full responsibility for each one of my illegal actions. But that’s not the whole story. I think the American people are entitled to the real truth.

Harp, they can’t poll this issue. People will vote for it; the real truth.

has any one else seen the news item at gretawire.com about the absentee ballots? Somehow 70 of the ballots had never been received by the voters and just turned up from the same post office. All of the ballots had been marked for a vote, but not one had been signed. This was in Ohio. What think you all, was this acorn or just a rogue post office worker?

OT~ Did anyone watch McCain on SNL?

    • Andrew

Did you? It isn’t near time yet here. Only 9:00. Was it a lampoon or was it funny (SNL and funny aren’t usually used within 100 words of each other.)?

    • jbjd

He was hysterical. He and Tina Fey, as Sarah Palin, came out and explained that since they have so little money, the network agreed to give them some time to offset BO’s major buy, if they hosted the Shopping Network. JMc announced they were selling commemorative plates of the 10 town hall debates with Senator Obama. The camera panned over to the plates – they were all blank! Tina pointed to a set of 3 Joe dolls – Joe the Plumber, Joe the Builder, and Joe Biden. Walking across the stage, JMc said here we have wonderful jewelry for those of you who appreciate a candidate who can work across the aisle: McCain Fine Gold. There were 3 busts displaying gold chains, with Cindy McCain pointing to the display.

      More later… he’s on again!

      • jbjd

Okay… Anyway, when the camera pans to his wife pointing out the gold chains, JMc doesn’t introduce her, he just says, ‘Thanks, Cindy.’ Tina goes off to the side and speaks softly. ‘I’m going rogue here, so keep it down… In case things don’t go our way on Tuesday, I’m also selling these…’ She pulls out a t-shirt that says, “Palin 2012.” She cautioned viewers not to wear these until after the election.

    • babinuta48

YES and His was great, making fun , and this is the real McCain. I can see the fire in His eyes, and the will to deliver His promises, and He is funny. GO JOHN and SARAH it will be the best day knowing, that You are OUR next President and Sarah and Cindy are at Your side. GREAT!!!
Children will be protected, and Social Security , pention saved. It will be great if all stolen money from SS would be return and people could retire at 60 giving room for younger generation, instead working till die they . Government dont have to pay their retirement pension to long to to many of retires, beacuse many of them dying after they retiering and is the fact. Working to 70 or longer , that is the reason!!! Young people can not find jobs, because old people are forse to work longer.

  • Andrew

That is how you get people to vote against Obama. MAKE THEM READ THE TRANSCRIPTS!!! He can’t use that hypnosis crap on them and his words sound crazy on paper. If this weren’t really happening, I’d say the author made the character Obama really fake. Book would end up at Bookman’s [used bookstore here].

Are Americans forgetting 9/11? Remember Obama will have all classified information,to pass on to the enemy if he so chooses…

Americans who vote for Obama must be very gullible.

  • Soundtrack for the last days of the election

McCain is a war hero, someone who has through action, placed his country before himself and before his personal ambitions. He can look back on his life and count men of similar fortitude as his friends, great men who selflessly fought, suffered, and some died, to defend this nation and its liberties and democratic values. This is why people trust McCain.

People have come to recognize that Obama is all talk, and a lot of it is lies. This is why people do not trust Obama.

someone help me with this. These are the Democrat Primary poll numbers:

      Realclearpolitics Average Obama +12.2

      CNN
      59 35 Obama +24.0
      Gallup Tracking
      52 43 Obama +9.0
      Rasmussen Tracking
      49 42 Obama +7.0
      Pew Research
      54 41 Obama +13.0
      Newsweek
      50 42 Obama +8.0

Final numbers were anywhere between Obama by .5 to Clinton by .7%. He over polled nationally by between 11.7 and 12.9%.

Is there a reason to believe that he is not overpolling now? Have the polling companies adjusted for this occurance? Is this maybe why that “leaked” letter we read said they won’t feel comfortable until they are up 10 points in the polls?

      • TeakWoodKite

If it is oversampling, it will lull many BO supporters into Kool-aid dreams.

I hear the echo of “what the heck should I stand in line for 10 hours for? They said Obama will win”…

There goes the youth vote. 10% if you are lucky.

There goes the wavering Hillary dems. 20 percent of them. Virginia? Obama?
Why is it that Obama thinks the state wouldn’t remember how he diss’ed em in the primaries and called them racist for voting for Senator Clinton? This beast that is BO has a very soft underbelly that the writer /”leaked letter” implies.

I wouldn’t forget it; but BO is counting on “selfish” folks not recalling he pissed on their brothers and sisters from great heights. Repeatedly.

I often wonder why McCain does not make hay out of BO’s Michigan and Florida vote frauding in the primaries.
        Something like…

Simple question for you, my friend, the voter. Here it is…
Would you vote for a candidate who prevented people from having thier votes count?
Floridians, my opponent BO believes you should only have 1/2 a vote and Michigan? Forget it!

So I ask all the other hard working people of this great nation. Do you cast a vote for a candidate that works to earn your vote or for my opponent, Barak Obama, who would tell you he wants to “spread it around” and won’t take a principled stand on ANY issue?.

Now that the election is imminent, look for the pollsters to start telling the blunt truth–that Bobo is behind. It’s save your own skin time. They’ve done all they can for their messiah, but now it’s crunch time, and they’re not willing to throw the whole polling business in front of the Bobo train wreck. And the fact that Bobo is begging people to skip work and school shows how desperate he is. Such a plea smacks of disrespect for authority if not of anarchy, and isn’t that all he needs to be linked with?!
You can definitely feel it in the air! The winds of truth are blowing, and they’re murmuring “President McCain”!

  • juliej

I just has to say this. I hate Obama so much. I hate everything he stands for. I hate the DNC for stealing the election from Hillary. I hate all the media for their decision to control the propaganda.

I absolutely hate this damn election. If this election doesn’t go to McCain Palin, then I guess my next step is to join Obama and HATE AMERICA TOO.
After all, is that what he really wants. If he wins,
he will bring down his race as being the first black President to completely destroy America. Isn’t that what he wants?

    • KathyNeocon

Whoa whoa!! Don’t throw America under the new Obama bus. Think of the thousands and thousands of soldiers who died for this Nation from the Revolutionary to the Iraq war. I’m not giving up on America, Criminal Obama as President or not. If he does manage to steal and scam in his way into the White House through ACORN and his Middle East and other overseas terrorist donors, that crook will be booted out in four years, if not imprisoned before then.

Size matters not. Look at me. Judge me by my size, do you? Hmm? Hmm. And well you should not. For my ally is the Force, and a powerful ally it is. Life creates it, makes it grow. Its energy surrounds us and binds us. Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter. You must feel the Force around you; here, between you, me, the tree, the rock, everywhere, yes. Even between the land and the ship.

Yes, a Jedi’s strength flows from the Force. But beware of the dark side. Anger, fear, aggression; the dark side of the Force are they. Easily they flow, quick to join you in a fight. If once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will, as it did Obi-Wan’s apprentice BO

  • Peggy Sue

    Hate America, too?

Are you insane? That’s exactly what these Obamatrons want. Hate who we are, forget our past and heritage and trade it all in for a Brave New World.

Even in the worst of times, we don’t give up. Instead of buying into Obamaworld’s strategy, think of McCain’s endnote to his stump speeches: fight, fight, fight and stand up, stand shoulder to shoulder for what’s right.

    Wer’re Americans, for Christ’s sake.

You throw in the towel then the game is over. For good!

  • IndieDogg

Okay, by now you all know me so trust me, this is a serious question. I really want to know because I think this is a powerful thing and I’d like to use it but can’t find any confirmation lately.

I heard twice, once by Governor Palin and the second I don’t recall, but I know I heard it more than once, that they pledged to balance the federal budget by then end of their first term.

Did I dream that? It’s a bold statement and it’s cool if it’s not official but what are Mac/Cuda but bold?

    Just asking.

Does anyone have confirmation of this? Is it something I can use out here?

It’s going great. Elections are like ocean liners. They don’t turn easily but, once they begin to turn, they’re hard to stop.

    Stand up!!!!!!!!

    • babalu123

I TRULY BELIEVE, THA MCcAIN/PALIN WILL BE ABLE TO DELIVER, BECAUSE THEY HAVE THIS ANERGY AND WILLING TO DO. aND i BELIEVE, THAT THEY WILL SAVE SOCIAL SECURITY FROM DEMOCRATIC CONGRES AND TO MAKE PERMANENT LAW” GOVERNMENT CAN NOT TOUCH ,INVEST OUR MONEY AS SOCIAL SECURITY AND PENSION FOR ANY REASON AND NEVER”
OBAMAS IGNORANCE,DISRESPECT LIES WILL BE DELIVER AS SOON(IF-WHEN)AS hE TAKE OFFICE. I JUST WONDER, WHY CLINTONS, WHO ARE SO MUCH FOR AMERICA, ARE SUPPORTING A SUCH EXTEMIST IDEOLOGY.
Two nights ego on FOX former FBI boss(Wesleey-sorry for miss spelling??) said, that Ayers wrote a book witch was dedicated to morderer of Robert Kennedy. The guy who kill Robert Kennedy was applouse by Ayers!!! It was on FOX, so this is another cover up, by DN and Media…
I just dont understand, how Obama could be associated with those people, and claim to be innocent”like two personalities-two faces or more”…..Witch one is the real Barak and Michelle??? I just hope that we will see the better one!

  • IndieDogg

oops, it’s late, that would be….

by the end of their first term.

    • JustMe

I heard twice, once by Governor Palin and the second I don’t recall, but I know I heard it more than once, that they pledged to balance the federal budget by then end of their first term.

I have heard this when she has been in her rallies..

      Check out this link
      http://www.johnmccain.com/Issues/JobsforAmerica/reform.htm

John McCain will balance the budget by the end of his first term. The near-term path to balance is built on three principles:

      • IndieDogg

Thanks. It was definitely Guv Palin who said it at least the one time.

I, for one, think this is a simple, powerful message.

Right out there. Bold and to the point.

        We’ll balance the budget.

While Obama will throw another trillion dollars, minimum, on the debt pile for your grandchildren and great-grandchildren to pay off, around the end of the second term of Courtney Clinton, Chelsea’s daughter.

        Thanks.

A long time ago, I had an elderly professor who had been a (very) high-ranking official in the Chinese Government, first on the mainland and later in Taiwan, before he had been forced to flee with his family, because it had become believed by certain dangerous people that he was a threat to Chiang Kai-Shek.

He told us that the selection of leaders in his land was different than it seemed to be in the United States. He said we tended to look at a list of accomplishments and promises (well, in this election, he’d be half right, about the promises — as to accomplishments, there is no contest) while, in his experience, the Chinese people tended to look at the character of the person first. A leader must first be trusted to do what they believe to be right, he told us. Then, even if you disagree with some of their positions on certain things, you know what you were getting and what to fight about.

As he would say, you can’t fight a moving target.

Character, what kind of “person” the person was, was paramount. Honor, character, integrity.

So, what’s the point of this?

Those of you who are traditionally Democrats but who are repulsed by what’s going on over there in the (formerly) Democratic Party, who feel inclined to vote for Senator McCain and Governor Palin but haven’t yet gotten your head around the idea of voting for a Republican ticket when you’ve always thought of yourself as a Democrat — there is a very good reason why you feel the way you do — and it’s perfectly OK!

In some cultures, that’s the way they do it.

    Character first. Country first.

    Okay, so I’ll go first.

Why am I voting for John Sidney McCain, Jr. and Sarah Louise Palin? Two reasons.

I believe “what you see is what you get.”

And, second, I trust them with my country.

  • Judy L. NC

Wow! After a week surf fishing and away from the net, I want to say how much I missed all of you but now I’m totally election decompressed.

I’m delighted to read about these new trends in the polls. Thanks for posting, UW.

I listened to NPR on the 3 hr. drive home alone yesterday just to pass the time. Unfortunately, Car Talk lasts only 2 hrs leaving that snide Peter Sagel on Wait, Wait Don’t Tell Me. I felt a cover-his- butt shift in his political humor just like many other of the MSM bloviators turning on Barky to hedge their bets. Either that or he’s SO confident of a Barky win that anything goes. It was a remarkable change from last week’s show listened to on the drive TO the beach.

I’m raring to go be a poll watcher for the NC GOP on Tuesday.

French President Nicolas Sarkozy is very critical of U.S. presidential candidate Barack Obama’s positions on Iran, according to reports that have reached Israel’s government.

Sarkozy has made his criticisms only in closed forums in France. But according to a senior Israeli government source, the reports reaching Israel indicate that Sarkozy views the Democratic candidate’s stance on Iran as “utterly immature” and comprised of “formulations empty of all content.”

[Note: Sarkozy is a conservative and will likely get along very well with McCain and Palin.]

He just lies, and those who support Him and defend Him, just not get it, He will do the same with the whole USA, because He just care about Himself, and Michelle is just like Him, maybe worse. Did She help anyone???, does She go to Children Hospitals, Veterans hospitals,.
They are ashame of their poor families, as Obama prove againg and again. Now is His aunt, He lies again and on top of this, he takes money from His poor aunt and uncle knowingly. SDhe is not just illegaly here, but She keep in touch with Obama. What a lie again. Como on black people, cant You see, that He will “take care of You”, as He take care of his own family. Obamas are allready multi millioner, and You still poor.Biden in all His life, give 3500 hundred donation, and He is stinky rich to. If that is what You wont”PRIDE” sure wont put food on Your table.
