This Barack Obama Commercial is More Like It! (& Open Thread)

Yes! Get your own Barack Obama now! But don’t wait! Limited Quantities!

What? No Ginsu Knives??????????!!1111!!!??

From my blog, Uppity Woman.

What else is going on?

  • http://www.theindependentview.com Matthew Weaver

Why does the best get saved for last? This and others that we are now seeing in these past few days, should have been out all along!

  • http://budwhite.wordpress.com/ Bud White

    I love it!

Ginsu knives? No thanks–I’ll take some ShamWOWs instead.

But then again, Obama is the ultimate SHAM-WOW.

      Obama the SHAM-WOW ROTFL

    • oowawa

Except for pigmentation, (or ‘pigmentality’ as one poster suggested) The Mighty Obama is much like the Sham-Wow guy. I’m sure that their experience for POTUS is similar. However, I do believe that the Sham-Wow guy probably has the advantage in being able to speak fluently without a teleprompter and in being able to respond quickly to impromptu questions without stuttering. Also, the Sham-Wow guy has a useful concrete product to sell, whereas The Precious only has vague concepts like “Hope” and “Change” to peddle to the gullible. I’m afraid the Sham-Wow guy would actually be a safer bet for POTUS. I doubt that the Sham-Wow guy aspires to be the next World Messiah.

      • oowawa

Why do I even bother to research this stuff? Anyway, it turns out the Sham-Wow guy is an actor named “Vince Offer” and there is an article about him on Wikipedia. It notes that Offer’s “hectoring tone… makes us feel like idiots for even entertaining the notion of not buying a Shamwow,” and that he “seems truly dumbfounded that anyone might fail to see the wisdom of dropping 28 bucks (including shipping) on a set of rags.” Just like The Precious will seem truly dumbfounded that a majority of Americans failed to drop their precious votes on his miraculous crock of hopey-changey crap.

    • http://uppitywoman08.wordpress.com Uppity Woman

Is that the thing that replaces paper towels? LOL.

Pick up some dog barf or puppy poop with it and then “toss” it in the wash. See how well that sets with you. lol.

Heh heh yes, it’s that super duper piece of magic cloth that sucks up liters of liquid at a time.

…Which sounds more and more like Obama the more I get into it.

    • Liz B

that would have been a great campaign t-shirt, Obama’s face and the words SHAM WOW!

      • http://www.cafepress.com/pumapride John House

It can still be done, if he gets into office. because I know that he won’t be MY president. Dubyuh wasn’t my President these past 8 years, if this SHAM gets into office he won’t be mine either.

I will definitely plan this one for my CafePress shop.

    • oowawa

I ask myself: “Why do I even bother to research this stuff?” Anyway, it turns out the Sham-Wow guy is an actor named “Vince Offer” and there is an article about him on Wikipedia. It notes that Offer’s “hectoring tone… makes us feel like idiots for even entertaining the notion of not buying a Shamwow,” and that he “seems truly dumbfounded that anyone might fail to see the wisdom of dropping 28 bucks (including shipping) on a set of rags.” Just like The Precious will seem truly dumbfounded that a majority of Americans failed to drop their sacred votes on his miraculous crock of hopey-changey crap.

gallop daily 2008 election poll: Party ID breakdown:

In the final poll, 38% of U.S. adults identified as Democrats, 34% as independents and 26% as Republicans.
    http://www.gallup.com/poll/111703/Final-Presidential-Estimate-Obama-55-McCain-44.aspx

First this not a popular vote election. It is state by state. Second george bush destroyed the repub party but a 12% party ID lead for dems? cnn 2004 exit polling had party ID tied at 37% dem and repub. So gallop is really giving dems a plus 13 point advantage in party ID compared to 2004. Maybe but I doubt it.

    • John Smith

2006 was probably one of the worst years for the republicans and they were only down by 4 points in party identification. This 12% number is crazy.

      • Pennsylvania Red

If anyone needs to know their polling location , the McCain website will search it for you. Or anyone else you know who is voting McCain.

    • J.J. (The Puma)

This is actually very good new regarding the Gallop Poll. If party identification only has a 4% spread, then McCain is within the margin of error.

  • Doc99

NY Congressman Nadler dropped this Gem while giving his pro-Obama pitch in Boca. Pro-Obama? Has been out drinking with Joe Biden? This should be sent to GOPTrust ASAP!

This guy is a total punk!!

      • J.J. (The Puma)

The Hubris is so powerful, that it is beginning to seep out even before he wins. Praising the minister of his “former” church, and now giving the “Hillary Salute” to John McCain.

This is our future. This time next year, will we all be afraid of blogging at this site???

      • Diana

He’s such a pretender. It disgusted me when he did that to Hillary and it disgusts me now.

Now we have both the video, not just the audio to his coal plans. Plus an added bonus of him talking about skyrocketing our electric rates, as if they weren’t already high enough. I paid double the amount this summer than I did last summer for electricity. I don’t know how elderly people survived.

McCubans for McCain: (Some cheer from the battleground state of Florida, courtesy of the Miami Herald, November 3rd):

“If McCain’s late-night event at UM had a slogan, it was, as many of the T-shirts and placards said, `McCubans for McCain.’

On a rainy Sunday night, the predominantly Cuban-American crowd of thousands of people danced to the Grammy-award winning Albita and other Latin musicians. Campaign signs, red pom-poms and hips swayed to the pulsing beat at a party that started four hours before McCain arrived.

”This is the kind of intensity, this is the kind of momentum, that we will win Florida,” said McCain, who came on stage to thundering applause and foot stomping at 12:39 p.m. “My friends, we got one day left until we take America in a new direction. With your help we will win.’”

    McCain/Palin: VOTE!!!

Obama’s campaign did a lot of damage to itself when it called white people “racist”. Obama’s campaign should’ve been asking for their votes– not insulting them!!

      • Diana

It’s all they know are insults. They used it against their own. Bill and Hillary. Hillary supporters. We were called racists and bigots everyday. Along with several other choice words.

Donna told us to stay at home. Obama said he can get her voters, the question is can she get his? (talk about arrogant). Then proceeded to tell us to get over it. 18 million voters! He doesn’t care about the American people, it’s all about POWER for him. Nothing more and nothing less. Michelle said she’d have to THINK about supporting Hillary if she were the nominee.

None of those tactics worked on us, we’re not staying home. He didn’t get us. We followed Michelle’s advice and thought about it. The answer was NO. Obama, his campaign and his supporters have done nothing but damage him.

These people screaming Obama is the Messiah. He’s going to save us all. If he were Jesus he wouldn’t need to run for president. He’s a gift from God. (For what? God would send a man that allowed infants born alive to suffer and die in a soiled linen room? A man who’s state has more murders than our soldier in Iraq?)

Besides if he were from God he’d be quite able to create miracles all on his own, without the presidency. Which would make him what? The Anti-Christ. I personally don’t believe he’s the Anti-Christ. He’s been caught in all his lies. Associations. But, that is exactly who his supporters are making him into with that crap. You’d think if they had any brains they’d know that Anti-Christ is not there to bring them help, he’s there with an agenda from hell.

Imbibin’ Joe the Biden is on right now on FOX at a rally and I think he’s drunk again. He just went off on some weird tangent about his wife and women and “girl boys” and…other drunken crap. He’s even slurring his s’es.

    • Typewriterstreaming

wouldn’t surprise me. Joe has a serious problem and if it isn’t alcohol and that’s his brain he needs medical attention. It would be sad if it weren’t so scary.

    • csuzeq

If I were Joe Biden, I’d be drunk all the time.

My prediction is that if Obama wins, Joe goes under the bus permanently and Obama can assign his real VP pick. Biden will have some sort of health issue and have to step down or some illegal activity will be brought to Dear Leaders attention that makes Joe Biden ineligible to serve.

      • csuzeq

We all know how he uses people to get what he wants and then throws them away when they are no longer needed.

        Bye Bye Biden.

      • tango

I agree. Joe Biden could very well be out if Obama wins the election.

I love how there is all this made about McCains age and his past bouts of skin cancer, when Biden is the one with the really dangerous past medical condition. He had a brain aneurysm in 1988. He is in good health now but still, that’s scary.

        • athena

He had TWO aneurysm’s. Maybe that is his problem – maybe he has had a stroke….nah – he is just drunk.

      • FenelonSpoke

LOL; “If I were Joe Biden I’d be drunk all the time.”
        Thanks; I needed a laugh.

Yesterday, we featured the audio, and today, we have the 4-minute video clip of Barack Obama talking about bankrupting new coal plants in the US. They forgot ****Free College for EveryOne ****
I was listening to the radio last Friday and the Great One said, using his very own voice, that he is offering Free, I repeat, FREE College to everyone who wants it. No exceptions. No requirements. Hell, don’t even know if we have to wait in line. But FREE FREE FREE college if you give him one little tinney tiny vote.
    And he wasn’t kidding.
I just hope some of those college kids are smart enough to say WOW, and how is that going to happen?

    • csuzeq

Well, you do get a $4,000 tax credit each year, provided you voluntarily do the required community service.

His own website says so. I wonder how sane people don’t notice that there is required community service under his voluntary service tab. Hmmmm. Jumped out at me right away. But that’s just me.

Are the middle and high school kids going to enjoy their community service? They are required to do 100 hours per year if you read dear leaders site:

Expand Service-Learning in Our Nation’s Schools: Obama and Biden will set a goal that all middle and high school students do 50 hours of community service a year. They will develop national guidelines for service- learning and will give schools better tools both to develop programs and to document student experience. Green Job Corps: Obama and Biden will create an energy-focused youth jobs program to provide disadvantaged youth with service opportunities weatherizing buildings and getting practical experience in fast-growing career fields.

      For College:

Barack Obama and Joe Biden’s Plan for Universal Voluntary Public Service

Require 100 Hours of Service in College: Obama and Biden will establish a new American Opportunity Tax Credit that is worth $4,000 a year in exchange for 100 hours of public service a year.

This is from OBarfy’s own site, incredible as it sounds:

      http://www.barackobama.com/issues/service/

Barrakula is a “you must read the fine print” guy.

I am a college student (adult 43 year old, returning to college) and I may just take a leave of absense because a)I will not do what dear leader requires of me. I’d rather die. 2) Why make more moeny so I can share the wealth? Nope. I’m selfish!

      • cookiegramma

I remember Clinton and Bush making this same promise, no sign of it yet. There is no way that congress will ever actually benefit snyone other than themselves.

  • educatedwhitewoman

    Important facts for Colorado voters:

Obama discusses bankrupting the coal industry:

    http://www.wsaz.com/political/headlines/33726759.html

90% of coal deposits occur on public lands in Colorado
Coal is used to generate 80% of the electricity consumed in Colorado
62.2% of Colorado coal is transported to other states; 2.8% is exported to foreign markets (i.e., Japan, Mexico); the remaining 35% stays in Colorado for power generation
With an average BTU of 9,900 to 13,100 and an average sulfur content of less than 0.39%, Colorado coal is among the highest quality, cleanest fuels found anywhere in the world

What John McCain thinks on clean coal:

Sen. John McCain “Perhaps no advancement in energy technology could mean more to America than the clean burning of coal and the capture and storage of carbon emissions. And to this end, as president, I will commit $2 billion each year on clean coal research and development. We will build the demonstration plants, refine the techniques and equipment and make clean coal a reality.”

Crikey, the international press is just as skewed as the US MSM. I found an article today called ‘Palin Too Weak for Alaska’ and linked from a front page. That sounded pretty volatile so I went over to Google Translations and put the URL in.

    Funny what found.

The first thing I found was a quote from someone on the street on Wasilla asking the reporters (who probably asked for the job to get a free trip) ‘why have you traveled all this way to ask questions about Sarah?’

The ‘journalist’ (a woman it should be pointed out) goes onto admit that everywhere you go people call her ‘Sarah’. That she is ‘Sarah’ with everyone. Also that people everywhere will gladly point out Sarah’s rooftop if you ask them.

The article ends with a conversation with a waitress from the Mocha Moose cafe where they even have a coffee drink today called ‘The Sarah’. It’s mocha coffee with chocolate and skimmed milk and Sarah supposedly would pick one up at the drive through on her way to Anchorage as governor.

The waitress literally loves Sarah, as do many of her friends. And in quiet Wasilla they congregate on the main intersection every Friday evening to march with posters supporting Sarah for VP.

The only negative thing comes in the middle – and only for a short paragraph or two – with a brief interview with the previous Wasilla mayor who today is 92 years old.

This woman seems to be angry that the media – and the Obama people – have so attacked Sarah over these past 52 days, almost mercilessly. She wishes Sarah had done more to defend herself. She says Alaskans are a tough sort and stand for what they are, that Alaskan women have to be tough too in that macho climate.

She does go onto say Sarah is not a good president in her eyes, but considering this expensive interview only contacted two people in the entire country that are cited by name – then that’s not much.

90-95% of the story is outright laudatory of Sarah, citing her honesty, her being down to earth, and hopes people have she will clean out the corruption in Washington DC.

But all this lost because an Obama-friendly editor decided to give the article a more Obama-friendly title.

Kool-Aid can obviously be shipped anywhere in the world.

I saw this on Free Republic

Clinton says about Larry Sinclair: BELIEVE IT

CLINTON TELLS NH DEMOCRATS “People should believe it.”

So let’s hear what the Obots have to say about THAT, LOL…

At a campaign stop in New Hampshire today to support Democratic candidate for US senate, former NH Governor Jeanne Shaheen, former President Bill Clinton, was asked privately what he thought about the Larry Sinclair story.

“Bill, what about this Larry Sinclair thing?” Clinton was asked by a long time NH Democrat. “People should believe it,” responded President Clinton.

McCain on live. I thought he was passing up the coal issue when he pivoted from energy, but he came right back to O… he quoted O, ‘they can build a coal plant, but it will bankrupt them’… McCain said he knows we need to control emissions but will not allow our coal industry to be bankrupted.

This is on Fox, CNN and poor pitiful MSNBC was showing McCain live so they have to cover this also.

McCain is finishing well, he’s a little hoarse.

Everyone from Virginia to Wyoming should know what Obama said about coal and “skyrocketing” energy prices before they put their heads on their pillows tonight.

      Go MAC go!

  • McKatmoon

Mike Carey, president of the Ohio Coal Association, issued a devastating response to the Obama audiotape today. He states:

“Regardless of the timing or method of the release of these remarks, the message from the Democratic candidate for President could not be clearer: the Obama-Biden ticket spells disaster for America’s coal industry and the tens of thousands of Americans who work in it.

“These undisputed, audio-taped remarks, which include comments from Senator Obama like ‘I haven’t been some coal booster’ and ‘if they want to build [coal plants], they can, but it will bankrupt them’ are extraordinarily misguided. “It’s evident that this campaign has been pandering in states like Ohio, Virginia, West Virginia, Indiana and Pennsylvania to attempt to generate votes from coal supporters, while keeping his true agenda hidden from the state’s voters.

“Senator Obama has revealed himself to be nothing more than a short- sighted, inexperienced politician willing to say anything to get a vote. But today, the nation’s coal industry and those who support it have a better understanding of his true mission, to ‘bankrupt’ our industry, put tens of thousands out of work and cause unprecedented increases in electricity prices.

Oh as a PS to my post above about people on WALL STREET leaving the country if OHitler wins…My mother is at the airport in Dallas and just called to tell me that she met a family from New Orleans while grabbing a bite before her flight. The whole family said they are moving to Toronto if OHitler wins. How can OHitler be so far up in the polls when so many people are REPULSED by the thought of him winning??? This is why I think the polls are SO far off.

  • Diana

I was just thinking about these polls. If they turn out to be as skewed as we think they are…should riots occur. Those states need to sue these polling places, the MSM. Businesses that are lost need to sue these polling places, the MSM for deliberately misleading the people. They should be held accountable for their part in the actions of what occurs. Just like with Raila Odinga they have purposely sowed the seeds of hate. Division. Riots. Protests. The attacks against women. If riots occur because he wins which many are predicting. Obama/Biden the DNC should be sued for any damages and not allowed to use tax payers money to pay for the damage.
