Class and Crass

This long campaign is nearly over and the candidates are sending last minute message to supporters. What do they say? How do you finish your campaign? A person of character does so with class.

Here is the letter John McCain sent to supporters this evening.

My Friend,

From the time I entered the Naval Academy at age seventeen I have been
privileged and honored to serve my country.

Throughout my years of service, I’ve been faced with challenges
where I could have taken the easy way out and given up. But I’m an
American and I never give up. Instead, I choose to show courage and
stand up and fight for the country I love. Today, I am asking you to
stand with me and to fight for our country’s future.

Our country faces enormous challenges and our next president must be
ready to lead on day one. My lifetime of experience has prepared me to
lead our great nation. I’m prepared to bring solutions to our economic
challenges, bring our troops home in victory and improve our nation’s
healthcare system.

Time and time again, my country has saved my life and I owe her more
than she has ever owed me. I have chosen to show my gratitude through
a life of service to our country and tomorrow, you will have a choice
 before you.

I humbly ask you to make the choice that will allow me to serve my
country a little while longer by casting your vote to elect me as your next President of the United States.

Finally, I ask that you never forget that much has been sacrificed to
protect our right to vote. We must never forget those Americans who,
with their courage, with their sacrifice, and with their lives, have
protected our freedom. It is my great hope that you will exercise your
right to vote as an American tomorrow.

I thank you for your kind support, your dedication to our cause, and
most importantly I thank you for your vote.

With sincere appreciation,

John McCain

Here’s what is on BO’s website:

We’re just one day away from change.

Election Day is tomorrow — Tuesday, November 4th.

We’ve asked you to do a lot over the course of this campaign, and you’ve always come through.

Right now, I’m asking you to do one last thing — vote tomorrow, and make sure everyone you know votes, too.

Watch a short video about how far we’ve come, and how close we are. Then find or confirm your polling location and make sure your friends and family do the same:

(VIDEO HERE – I’m not posting this)

When this campaign began, we weren’t given much of a chance by the pollsters or the pundits.

But tomorrow, we can make history.

We’ve made it this far because supporters like you never stopped believing in your power to bring about real change.

Take the final step now.

Watch the video, find your polling location, and get everyone you know involved on Election Day.

With your vote, and the votes of your friends, family, and neighbors, we won’t just win this election — together, we will change this country and change the world.

Thank you,

Barack

The difference in tone between these letters is pretty much the difference between these candidates. One uses his full name, in a formal letter and the other uses only his first – in an attempt to make you think you know him.

One tells you something about himself and his vision for the country. The other one tells you to watch a video.

One thanks you for your support and expresses his gratitude to the voters. One tells you to get your family and friends to the polls.

One talks about how much he loves his country and one only talks only of getting out the vote.

It’s a small thing this late in the race, but there is class and there is crass. I like the speaker in John McCain’s letter. The other guy sounds like someone trying to get me to invest in Enron.

Good luck to every NQ reader and go out and vote tomorrow!

Ric Grenell: Why Obama will lose today
    Tuesday, November 4, 2008 9:50 AM
By: Richard Grenell Article Font Size

The mainstream media did everything they could to knock off Hillary Clinton in the primary season and John McCain in the during the general election campaign to help elect Barack Obama the 44th president. Fortunately, their attempt to persuade the American people that the inexperienced and untested junior senator from Illinois is qualified to be president has backfired.

While the media try to weave a story of a unified Democratic Party and a Republican Party in turmoil, the facts point to a different outcome.

Although I may be one of the few pundits in America who think McCain will win today, I hold firm to the lessons learned in the Democratic primary and politics 101.

To win the presidency, a candidate must unify his base, split the Independent votes, and steal one more vote from the other side. Although the media’s polls have concluded almost unanimously that Obama will sweep to victory, fundamental problems remain for the Obama campaign with the base of Democratic voters. Since Obama’s problems from the primaries have not been resolved, nor reported in the national media, the Electoral College map signals trouble for the media’s main man.

Throughout the primaries, Obama never garnered significant support from four of the major groups within the Democratic base. Union members, women, older voters, and Jewish voters all were Hillary Clinton supporters in significant numbers. Although the national media did focus on the disgruntled female supporters of Clinton in the lead-up to the Democratic National Convention in Denver, they dropped the issue after Obama won the nomination.

However, the media’s short attention span has not solved the problem for the man whose pastor of 20 years still gives many Americans pause. Additionally, very little has been written or aired about the lack of support for Obama with older voters, Jewish voters, and union members. The assumption that the 25 million people who voted for Clinton and the rest of the Democratic candidates now have Obama yard signs will prove to be a fatal mistake for the media and Howard Dean.

Now, I admit that the majority of the members of these groups ultimately will end up voting for the Democratic nominee, but the slightest amount of slippage in the percentage of these voters means Obama will not have the support the media and the polls assume he has.

And this is no small problem. Since Obama has not united the Democratic Party the way Sarah Palin helped McCain unite the Republican Party, the 44th president of the United States will be John S. McCain.

If this doesn’t make sense to you, then your emotions have carried you away from reality. McCain doesn’t need the majority of supporters from these traditional Democratic groups to win. McCain needs to get only a small amount because these voters are not Independents or swing voters, these people are traditional and frequent Democratic voters.

None of the main media outlets has looked in to whether these groups, who did not support Obama in the primary, have come back to the Democratic base. But they have not. How else does one explain the fact that Pennsylvania gave Clinton a huge win in the primary and is still giving Obama trouble today?

Pennsylvania traditionally is a Democratic state, but Obama has failed to close the deal in this anti-Republican year. A closer look at Ohio, West Virginia, Missouri, and even Michigan suggests that union members and older Americans are not comfortable with Barack Obama.

The media, however, have overplayed their hand in all but calling the race for Obama. While CNN reports, as it did last week, that Obama is up in Missouri and NPR and The New York Times are trying to convince us that North Carolina and Virginia are really tossup states, the American electorate quietly waited for the polls to open.

Richard Grenell was the U.S. spokesman at the United Nations until he resigned on Sept. 29. He had been one of the longest-serving press spokesmen at the United Nations.

We don’t need any tapes, even the one at the LA Times.

All we need are cameras to record the Black Panthers in Philly, ACORN everywhere, Farrakan and Ayers voting minutes after Obama at the same poll station in Chicago. What a freaking DNC Circus.

The world is watching Obama’s Thugocracy in action.

There’s a good piece on RCP about the 5 myths of the election.

One is that huge voter turn-out favors Dems. The author points out, that is true unless the Republicans also turn out in high percentages. Then, it’s nearly a wash.

I’d also like to see reports from any and all NQ readers who voted in swing states today, or even who live in swing states and have any observations to share about local happenings regarding the voting.

This 30 plus year democrat cast her vote for McCain/Palin today.

      • AFS

Alright. I’m an independent who’s voted straight Dem on all previous general elections. I first ran into NQ back in late Feb-early March (when I first started noticing the mass of journalistic fluff attached to O’s butt) and have been coming by ever since. While I could have voted for Clinton with nary a blink, there is no way I could vote for Obama, even if he’s the Dem nominee. Any last sliver of a chance O had to win my vote (now or in the future), he lost, permanently, when he chose to announce his VP pick at 3am. That was, IMHO, petty and spiteful and cruel; things we definitely do NOT need as potus.

Hello, my name is AFS and I proudly voted McCain/Palin in Florida!

      • FireinthebellyforMcCain

Here is my first post Steve_in_KC. I have been here since the primaries reading NQ every work day throughout the day. I am a Hillary supporter. I have voted democrat since 1976 but today, the FIRE in my belly for Senator John McCain and Gov. Sarah Palin will have this former democrat now independent voting REPUBLICAN for the first time. Proud! Excited! Hopeful! May the luck of the Irish bless Senator John McCain throughout today!
        Smiles to all. Cheerfulness too!
P.S. You are all 100% correct regarding MSM. I’m inside it and my eyes and ears have been shocked with what I have witness behind the scenes.

B0 is (thank God) one election cycle.

The damage done to the Democratic party is incalcuable.

How many of us are gone, never returning?

I sent a letter to Governor Strickland (I live in Ohio) outlining why I voted straight Republican. I explained my vote against some of the Democratic positions on the initiatives on the ballot. I don’t believe in a “mommy” state any more. If people were tricked into “bad” mortgages, then the thieves that did it should be found and prosecuted. If, however, people filled out phony applications and willfully lied to obtain a home they could not afford — that is what I want to call tough damn luck.

We used to play by real rules here in the US. Get in line. Wait your turn. Tell the truth. Own up to your mistakes. Take credit and except responsibility. I want that America again. That is why I voted McCain.

Oh, and one more thing. PUMA!!!!!

    • Bridgette

I didn’t vote straight republican. I voted McCain and one democrat. There were a lot of other offices to vote for and I just refused to vote because I truly have a hard time supporting the democratic party now.

I’m not sure what they can do to get me back…except nominate and elect Clinton in 2012. Until then, I’m through with the democratic party.

It will take a very long time and a lot of ‘change’ for me to EVER consider voting for a D again!

    • Frosteetoes

I’m a registered Democrat who voted for Hillary in the primaries and just voted for McCain/Palin a few hours ago. I picked up a new voter registration application and now plan to change my long time political affiliation because I believe the current Democrats went down the wrong path of supporting Barack Obama. Last night I received a phone call from my local Democratic party solicitors who called to urge me to vote for their parties nominees. I informed this person that I will not being voting Democrat this year and it was because they chose to support Barack Obama over Hillary Clinton and because of this I will be changing my party affiliation in time for the next election. Hillary is now a traitor as far as I am concerned as she should have run as an independent when the DNC gave Obama the nomination. For the sake of the American people and the sanctity of our Constitution and for all the men and women who ever fought and died for our country she should have done the right thing and ran against the very turncoats who supported their puppet over a proven leader.

      • Geo

” Hillary is now a traitor as far as I am concerned as she should have run as an independent when the DNC gave Obama the nomination. OMG I agree with you on this. But I am a conservative PUMA lover so I have to be careful not to dis Hillary. She should have shafted Obama for the good of the country. Obama is the Biggest THUG ever to come down the pike.

Just look at what he has already done to the DNC. Black panthers blocking voters in Philly, ACORN, massive voter fraud, Wright, Ayers, Rezko, “Get in their FACE”.

This Democrat/PUMA proudly voted for McCain and put country first! God Bless America!

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

I’m not a PUMA but I can’t tell you how much I respect what an amazing group of people you all are to have spoken out against a corrupt, vile, cheating, thieving party and unelectable, criminal, “selected” candidate. If we do pull this off, we ALL know that it’s a big shout out to the courage, intelligence, fighting spirit and love of country of the PUMAS. Get out there Kitty Kats and make it happen for us!

    • Pennsylvania Red

I’m not PUMA either, (registered R), however I second your thoughts about the commitment to country first that PUMAs have demonstrated.

This election rests on the shoulders of PUMA. Sarah Palin is bringing out the Republican base, and key battleground states will be determined by the number of Dems who cross over to vote for John McCain.

This morning I voted and have spoken to some Republicans I know. The consensus is 50-50 on whether McCain will pull this one out of a hat. I saw a car from MD driving around my BF neighborhood, placing door hangers on all the homes with n0bama lawn signs. I took that opportunity to grab my McCain sign wave it out the window, and yell:
      THIS IS McCAIN COUNTRY BABY!!!

Q: With all the numerous gazillion n0bama operatives crawling about PA, why did they need to import Marylanders?

      • beebop

        To vote twice? :)

      • MrMike

Because the race here in PA is closer than the media would have you believe.

        • Geo

McCain will take PA. And Murtha will be gone.

          • Pennsylvania Red

            Geo -

I do believe the good Pennsylvanians who were called racist and redneck will express their outrage at Murtha at the ballot box today.

I agree with Mr. Mike, there is more Dem support in PA than the MSM wants anyone to believe, the fact that they are importing operatives from a neighboring state says it all.

There was a link to an article yesterday about a guy projecting a landslide victory for McCain based on the PUMA factor. I don’t know if it will be a McCain landslide, I will be happy if he squeaks out a win by one electoral vote. However PA is key.

I think it’s going to be a long night. MSM is already slobbering over Prez n0bama. We shall see. One thing I know for certain:
The Republicans will NOT roll over.

            • Geo

PUMAS are all over PA. And Sarah has got our base charged like I have never seen. Obama is going down. And besides, there are people who genuinely like McCain. He is an honorable man.

              Thank YOU PUMAS.

              • Pennsylvania Red

This is a quote from the seanmalstrom link downthread – the best analysis I’ve seen of the PA situation:

Pennslyvania has been grossly misreported on this election cycle. During the Democrat primary, union bosses approached Hillary Clinton and said, “Promise us you will not put Obama as your Veep and you will have our support.” The moment Obama become the nominee was when he lost Pennslyvania. Obama has been spending money like a drunken sailor in the state, blasting the state full of advertising, but it isn’t working. The famous Philly machine won’t be at Obama’s disposal as the governor, Rendell, is a Clinton supporter , and he has been hinting at Pennslyvania going red by the mysterious leak of the Obama internal campaign poll of PA being +2 a couple of weeks ago and publicly asking Obama to come back to the state as well as saying that things are ‘tightening’ there. The evidence that PA is going red should be with how the safe Democrat seats are becoming suddenly competitive. Rendell is a Democrat and doesn’t want to lose house seats which is another reason to ask Obama to come back.

Pennslyvania is not a New England state, it is a mid-atlantic state. It is mostly a rural state. Obama likely thought Philly and Pittsburgh would be enough to carry the state (Obama is relying on cities to swing entire states his way). But Kerry could barely hold the state even with the Philly machine and the Democrat base on his side. And McCain and Palin are far more popular, campaign wise, than Bush and Cheney were in 2004.

Obama does not have the Democrat base solidified behind him. In states that massively swung to Clinton, such as Pennslyvania, a sizable number of Hillary Clinton supporters are voting for McCain under the banner of ‘Party Unity My Ass’ or ‘PUMA’s. In McCain Campaign offices throughout Pennslyvania, manning their phone banks, are DEMOCRATS which voted for Hillary Clinton. An unholy alliance has developed between senators McCain and Clinton. Both are friends to one another. Both have a framed picture of the other in their offices. The PUMA story is the biggest one not being told about in this election.

I wish some of the conservative radio guys would have read this, they are sounding like a bunch of nervous Nellies today.

I second that – someone posted it on an earlier thread. It’s long, but PLEASE everyone go read it – this guy knows what he’s talking about and it’ll make you feel SO CONFIDENT that Mac and Sarah are gonna win today!

    • Touchet

nice article. I especially like the “broken glass conservative.” Now that I read that, I understand the voter turn out in my district. Normally when I go to the poll, there is nothing but AA’s with a few white people mixed in. This morning, it was totally diverse.

    • http://www.deathofthedemocraticparty.com xax

It’s long but I think accurate.

Elections are about people. You can not just rely on cold numbers or party loyalty.

Man, this guy got it EXACTLY right. PUMA, Conservative Democratic desertion, PA, the Palin effect, f-d up polling, Recharged Repulicans. All of it.

one more thing…my entire family…Hillary supporters – bout 20 in all crossing party line today and voting for McCain.

  • sirmrks

its a straight republican ticket for me.

need to punish dean and pelopsi.

done even want to mention the man of division.

    PUMA

  • Suisser

The image that keeps coming to mind today is of O a few weeks ago saying about McCain, “You know who he’s for? A plumber. Yes, that right for a plumber.” With that smirk on his face. That moment crystalized him for me, nothing more than a mean snob. Period. Enough said. Today this life long dem flips.

    • MrMike

I’d love to see a Youtube of that.

Out of 4 Democrats in this family,
    Final votes count is
    2 Dem, 1 Repub, 1 Nader.
So the Dems lost 2 votes here.

    • Typewriterstreaming

3 votes it seems – one went for Nader.

My girlfriend just voted on Ohio. They are letting people register provisionally without being registered yet and also let a black man vote with no photo I.D. Also a black woman was sitting outside with an Obama sign and she complained so they made her leave. She’s gonna call the voter fraud line and see what they say.

  • Mr. X

Can anyone tell me what Obama said about his “spreading the wealth” comment after people started pointing it out? Did he admit to it, or did he spin it somehow?

    • wodiej

I don’t believe he addressed it other than demonizing the plumber, putting him out of work, trashing his reputation and going through all of his personal records, some of it illegally. I believe Obama said we were all selfish for not wanting to pay more taxes.

    • kinthenorthwest

      he admitted to it…

      • Hap Hazard

He admitted it, The next day, in comments at a rally, he made fun of Joe, suggesting among other things that it couldn’t be even possible for a plumber to make $250,000.

        • Mr. X

I wanted to know because socialism is dangerous for presidential nominees. I don’t understand such a comment by Obama.

    • Caya

He said they want to make a virtue of being selfish

  • Charles Clark

I guess the election came down for me to who can defend the country (be commander in chief) and who can clean up Washington starting with pork barrel spending.
I have been exasperated with the murderer of 3000 Americans being able to send his assassins to America on 911. Even though meetings between the NSA, CIA and FBI were able to flag Ahmed Ressan and his associates and capture them (Dec 14, 1999) before they blew up the Seattle Space Needle or the Statue of Liberty, a “vigilant” George W. Bush and Condi Rice could not; they canceled those weekly national security meetings with Richard Clarke.
An entire world supported our efforts to go into Afghanistan to capture Bin Laden. But instructions from Bush for Delta Force not to approach Tora Bora from Pakistan or to plant the path to Pakistan with bombs allowed him to escape. We then sent 150,000 troops to a secular, Baathist country and overthrew it for Bin Laden. I am tired of Bin Laden pulling puppet strings on our U.S. President and certainly don’t want another one to assume those strings from George Bush.
Our commander-in-chief needs to know what country our threat is coming from in picking his wars.
With our economy tanking and John McCain admittedly saying “I am not strong on the economy” he suggests “suspending” his campaign to go to Washington to fix things. This happened after the joint leadership of the House and Senate (Republicans and Democrats) had announced a $700 billion rescue plan. Well, this campaign stunt resulted in the eventual passage of that $700 billion rescue plan but with $150 billion of pork tacked on. . . more pork than the sum total of all pork riders added together over the previous 10 years.
For the sake of national security and reducing pork barrel spending I had to vote for Obama. . .
As for healthcare. . . a $5,000 tax credit falls far short of the average cost of a $12,000 insurance policy. . .
As for budget management. . . supporting tax cuts without spending cuts (like McCain did 7 years ago but refuses to now) has raised the national debt from $5 billion to over $10 billion. . .
Taking care of veterans does not mean voting against the GI bill. . .
Putting together a strong executive team does not mean chosing Sarah Palin to be vice president.
“Country first and family first” must come before “election stunts first”. That is the “Godly” thing for our next President to do.
How can anyone vote for John McCain?

    • shhy

How can anyone voted for Obama? What has he accomplished except words??????………..BTW, we own our votes and we chose Mccain over O-zero..Get over it!!!

    • wodiej

John McCain has always put this country first. He has never done any pork barrel spending. He has stood up against his own party. He served our country honorably and was a POW.

What has Obama done? Sat in a racist, American hating church for 20 years. Stole the Dem primary from Hillary Clinton. Has close associations with a terrorist and other dangerous people. Voted to raise taxes in Illinois 94 times. Voted against protection of abortions born alive, not once but 4 times. You don’t have very high expectations or principles. I hope to God you get some or you are in serious trouble.

    • fluffy bunny

Go away, axelrod creep. Obama’s been top porker in his short 3 year term in the US Senate. Obama cares so little about the troops that he didn’t even bother to visit them in Germany at their hospital. He went shopping instead.

I’m a military wife, and trust me, we aren’t nearly as stoopid as Jon Cary and Baracks O’Bomber think we are.

    • Leisa

Why do people blindly believe talking points of a flip flopper like Obama? He has proven that he will look Americans in the eye and lie to you.

Charles, you are, sadly, being blindly lead if you believe what you wrote.

    • Newly Independent

I guess the election came down for me to who can defend the country (be commander in chief) and who can clean up Washington starting with pork barrel spending.

Since yesterday I have called 292 voters across the coutnry to get out the vote. These are all FIRST republican voters!

McCain campaign sues over overseas military ballots

    RICHMOND

John McCain’s presidential campaign filed a federal suit Monday against Virginia seeking to extend by 10 days the deadline for the state’s acceptance of military members’ federal absentee ballots.

Word of the suit emerged Monday afternoon, around the time that a separate election-related injunction request to extend voting hours in today’s election was being rejected in federal court.

A national voter rights group, the Advancement Project, and the state NAACP chapter sued the state last week claiming unfair election practices and sought court action to change the distribution of voting machines in Norfolk, Richmond and Virginia Beach, extend polling hours and permit wider use of paper ballots.

Judge Richard Williams did not grant the immediate injunction, though the suit is expected to proceed at a later date. In his ruling, Williams reasoned that last-minute changes to the election format could harm the public in the name of protecting voters potentially disenfranchised by current state election laws.

The McCain suit, meanwhile, seeks an injunction to extend the date by which federal write-in absentee ballots must be received to be counted. The current deadline is today, but the suit seeks to have the date changed to Nov. 14.

    http://hamptonroads.com/print/486648

    • POdVet

McCain’s suit has grounds and will be enacted. The absentee ballots for those military personnel were not mailed out in time for them to be received in time. And in answer to your main question. Virginia is home to the worlds largest Navy base. So if the outcome of the election was close enough for Virginia to be a deciding factor, these military votes that will be going mainly for McCain, could very well make the difference.

This PUMA voted straight Republican ticket here in Florida – first time in my life voting straight Republican. My 20 yr old daughter voted for the first time for president; this baby PUMA voted for McCain/Palin too! My partner voted PUMA for McCain/Palin. My parents voted McCain/Palin. My best friends – 4 PUMAs – voted McCain/Palin. All of these votes previously would have been democratic votes!

I’ll never forgive the Democratic establishment for what they did to the Clintons and what they did to the Florida primary voters.

Someone took the chance and started reviewing the recordings from services at Jeremiah Wright’s United Church of Christ. Holy smoke!! Well in Larry’s defense I will say this…. WHY did the NoBama camp ALREADY have a defense planned and PLAYED to this Whitey tape if it didn’t exist…..???? I remember it as it was said WHY’D HE instead of WHITEY……… LOL Now what PUTZ would prepare something as stupid as that as defense if something wasn’t in the shadows lurking??? I do believe the tape exists but was never shown….hell look at who has it… a media still locked in full wet kiss with NoBama! I mean come on….look at who said it… Michelle “I’ve never been proud of my Country” NoBama!

          • Hap Hazard

Larry cannot control what people in possession of the tape did with it, nor did he ever claim to be in possession of the tape himself. I agree that his information and intelligence work was no doubt very accurate, which explains the defensive preparation for its release by Obama

            • Philadelphia Voter

              1. Larry pushed this story as fact. That fact was that the tape existed and would be released on x, y, z date. It never did. Larry’s credibility with regards to the existence of the tape is on the line.

              2. How do you agree his information and intelligence was accurate when the entire central core of his claim – that this tape even existed – has not been proven to be true and nothing indicates that it even is? Has anyone seen the tape? Anyone verified it’s existence? Have you seen it? Seen the footage? Seen even a picture of the tape itself? Can anybody go on record saying they have the tape? Even one name? Even if it’s Hillary Clinton? Got one source? One verifiable source? One? 1 eensy teensy little source?

              3. What defensive preparation for it’s release by Obama? Link please.

              • benny

                1. prove it.

                2. larry never said that he has the tape. so try and analyse his statement accordingly.

                • Philadelphia Voter

                  1. Larry Johnson put up post after post after post after post after post (to name a few), as well hordes of bloggers who also put up posts about the supposed tape, all linking back to Larry Johnson and making him the source of the news. Not the tape, the news. Larry pushed this story front and center.

My reading comprehension skills are just fine, thank you, so I’m very well aware that after pushing this story and claiming he had as many as 5 sources, several being high ranking Republicans, he also claimed that he never had the tape and never saw it.

                  2. My point is he claimed to have multiple sources who according to him:

However, here is why I think the tape exists.

I have two friends. One is a Democrat and one is a Republican. One lives on the west coast and one lives on the east coast. They do not know each other. Yet each has spoken directly with someone who has seen the tape. In fact, I first heard about the tape from my east coast friend. I thought it was interesting but, without additional proof, not worth mentioning. Later that night I was chatting with a friend, who happens to be an Obama supporter, but is very well connected to the Washington political scene. That person told me he had heard the same thing. He also told me about a separate tape of Barack Obama during an overseas trip that also is in the hands of the McCain folks.

The clincher came when my buddy on the west coast wrote to me that he had a friend who had seen the tape. Given that there are two separate people, completely unconnected, giving the same report, I think it is reasonable to conclude that the tape exists. We shall see.

So name the sources. His Democratic and Republican friends, who Larry knows (personally, I assume) who told him that they in turn know people who have the tape and that’s how Larry’s sources were able to tell him that they saw the tape.

After all, that’s why Larry said he believed the tape existed, right? If I was Larry, I’d bit a little bit embarrassed right now that my acquaintances who assured me they had seen the tapes weren’t telling me the truth, thus making me the laughingstock of the internet.

If it were me and this huge game-changing bombshell turned out to be a complete farce and I was the one who was played a fool by posting about this rumoured tape again and again and again, sprouting spinoff blogs who also posted again and again and again about this tape that never materialized, I’d be naming names, poste haste.

This is not a difficult thing to comprehend.

                  1. Larry said he had multiple friends/sources who had seen the tape.

                  2. Larry said he even believed the tape existed.

                  3. Larry was wrong.

                  4. Larry ought to name the sources and let them take the heat instead. If he can’t deliver those names, than he bears the responsibility of pushing an unverified story as truth and should be held responsible as such.

Analyze that statement. It’s not hard.

Larry stated sometime last month that the owner of the “Whitey” tape is now an Obama supporter who has refused to release the tape.

C’mon – do you really need a “Whitey” tape to prove to you that Michelle Obama talks like that? Even a person with limited brainpower such as yourself should be able to figure that out. For God’s sake – Michelle stated that she was proud of America for the first time in her life only this year! Not to even mention that hateful church the Obamas have worshipped in for the past 20 years!

  • HARP

    Future Obama administration ?????

LAND O’ LAKES, Fla. (AP) – A nudist community on Florida’s west coast wants to establish the first clothing-optional polling site. The Caliente Resorts, located in Pasco County north of Tampa, has approached election officials about the idea.

Nothing in state law would prohibit it, but the supervisor of elections says he is opposed to creating any new precincts before redistricting in 2010.

    • NCgirl

That would definitely be a popular polling station, LOL!

      • Andrew P

straight republican ticket this year, without blinking an eye

  • Zaggs

I will just say that as a republican I obviously pulled the lever for McCain. But in the end if I was not going to have McCain as my president I would have felt safe with Hillary Clinton creating history by becoming president. With Hillary I could see America remaining strong abroad and less divisive at home. But what I have loved about coming to NQ is to see that to some Americans country is still first and party second. Barack Obama is quite frankly about to become the greatest swindle of our country’s history. This know nothing who has never done anything and hidden everything has been put upon us by his ever loving media simply because he talks nice and his skin color is a little darker then some. With Obama as president I would honestly fear for out country. I do not believe for one second he would put his country before himself. He would talk to the most murderous and despotic people on the planet just so he can say he did and by doing so “won” and that “victory” would make him better then others, regardless of how many lives such a “victory” would cost and how many of our allies were lost for such a “win”.
So as an American I would like to thank the PUMA’s for remaing strong to their beliefs and their country and rejecting Barack Obama. Let us all hope enough of our fellow Americans follow suit.

Just voted for McCain/Palin and it felt bloody fantastic! No other Dems to vote for since were unopposed, but voted yes on both referendums to give a paid sick day per 30 hours worked, and to increase sales taxes to help pay for our bus transit and parks.

But there was no exit polling to share my good news with at my polling station in Milwaukee, WI. I think they are really scared about my neighborhood which is predominantly Liberal but filled with working class blue collar workers. I have never seen so many Republican signs (McCain/Palin) that peppered lawns with Dem signs for downticket Dems in my life!

I live in Illinois and voted for Cynthia McKinney to honor women, vote against THE ONE and to NOT vote for a Republican. Bo has this state in the bag, so I felt I could vote for McKinney without hurting McCain who will lose here anyway. I also voted against Dick Durbin who has been THE ONE’s mentor. I hold him responsible for inflicting BO on my country. I voted for the Green candidate running against him. Down ticket Democrats in my state, got my vote. I can still say I have never voted for a Republican in my 35 years of voting. :)

I don’t need a McCain landslide. I just need a McCain win. And if Johnny Mac manages to pull it off, I as a lifelong Dem and PUMA will hold his feet to the fire to follow through on cleaning up Washington. True reform is what I want to see and is something I can believe in.

McCain is an honorable man. He’s convinced me of that. I have every reasonable expectation that if elected he will do his damnest to being the country back. But I will no longer take anything for granted. I voted for the Republicans this year with my eyes wide open.

And I intend to keep them open.

I have an idea, granted, I’ve never participated in an exit poll before. But after listening to FOX last night, they described the exit poll as a written ballot like paper that you fill out with a pen.

My idea is, if you are asked to fill out an exit poll, instead of filling it out with a candidate selection, write PUMA on it and turn it in. Maybe if enough do this, we will have some kind of idea of how many of us are out there? Just a thought??

I sure hope it is true. McCain had such a nice smile on his face holding that rabbit.

Well I will be back later. I am so worried that the O-Bots are going to destroy my town tonight if Obama doesn’t win. I hope the police will be prepared. I will stay in after dark. Going to the store to get me some sparkling juice to celebrate when McCain wins. PUMA!
GO JOHNNY GO! PUMAS LETS HEAR THE ROOOOOOOARS!!!!!
O-BOTS YOU GET IN THE WAY YOU WILL BE LUNCH.

My only hope is that this country is every bit as racist as we have been accused of being.

      never

My best hope is that Americans are smarter than Obama’s campaign thinks they are.

Registered Democrat just voted McCain/Palin in Florida — I voted FOR McCain/Palin but found it incredibly edifying along the way to show the corrupt DNC and the hypocritical Obama what I think of them.

Whole new voting system in Florida this year, with new machines and ballots: very long lines at a Miami precinct today but it all went smoothly with voters and poll workers polite and in good spirits.

No matter what happens (and I’m expecting the best thanks in no small measure to the PUMAs) — it felt GREAT to vote McCain/Palin!

I got my vote in- took an hour. J Mac and the’Cuda on the top with libertarians straight down.

Mostly black district so many of them are very pro Obama. I saw one person in a bright orange jacket in a sea of black/brown. Don’t know if they are PUMA or not, but one can only hope.

sorry, just couldn’t do it, but I’m in NYC anyway. I voted down ticket dem and left Pres blank. My sister and I tried to covince each other to go McCain but we couldn’t. She’s in NJ. So my family, all dems except my sister’s husband is always Republican. 3 Obama, 3 McCain, 2 No Presidential Vote. (so that is a loss of 4 life long democratic votes for Obama, it’s something).

  • Jan, NC

I’m an Indy-Dem, that has usually always voted Dem along with my husband. We were Hillary supporters in the primary. I voted early last week for McCain/Palin and my husband, daughter, son-in-law and friends at work are voting McCain today.

I’m a 61-year-old lifelong Democrat/Clintonista in SE OH. I decided months ago that Obama must be stopped, and I decided that only McCain could do that. I had cast only 2 votes for Repubs before today–one for governor several years ago and one for judge. Today, I voted for two GOP-endorsed OH Supreme Court judges and a Repub for sheriff. If it weren’t for Hillary, I would switch my party affiliation.

    Brad = Tool

FAIL or not WE PUMAS aren’t voting Dem this year! My partner and I both voted for McCain this morning here in Northern VA. My 88 year old grandma in FL voted for McCain ( a first vote in her entire life for a Republican) my mother and sister voted this morning too both Dem voters voting for McCain! Win or Lose I can tell you WE PUMAS will make A LOT more of a difference then anyone can possibly imagine!

  • MrMike

Brad, your candidate couldn’t beat Hillary with out massive help from the media and even then needed the backstabbing Dean to get the nomination.
After 7 1/2 years of the total cf by Bush, Obama should be in the lead by double digits. He isn’t in spite of the media’s attempt to make it so.
I guess we will find out later tonite or early tomorrow morning if it worked.

Anybody want to start a poll on how long Patrick Fitzgerald lasts as USA for Illinois if Obama gets i the White House?

  • beebop

PUMA is the one aspect of this campaign not responsive to the bigzero’s limited charm. They will be surprised as hell when they see how many turned the other cheek and didn’t pull the lever for him.

  • tek

That’s right. And if Obama is in the WH, we PUMAs need to continue the work of restoring a legitimate candidate to the WH.

  • Geo

Well we can thank Hillary for getting Obama elected. She campaigned for him in PA. And today
she is not only breaking the law but is talkin it up for Obama INSIDE A POLL

VIDEO: HILLARY POLITICKING INSIDE NY POLLING AREA, 5 FEET FROM BOOTHS…

  • Barry bums a ciggie

WTH is that?! She should know better than that…c’mon.

  • destardi

Fuck off…Hillary has to do what she has to do.

Are you an ex-President, an ex-First Lady now Senator just recently ran for President of the United States?

You’re being presumptious if you even THINK you know the pressure of someone at her level.

  • oowawa

Bashing Hillary on election day on a forum largely populated by PUMAs is counterproductive at best. Let’s defeat Barack Obama, then we can fight about Hillary, if necessary.

  • JozefAL

Funny, but I didn’t hear the name “Obama” in that and, from what I could see, she was being interviewed by news media.
But, she most certainly was NOT violating either the letter or the spirit of the law. She was NOT talking to people in an effort to persuade their vote, nor was she “politicking”.
CDS–we must remember it’s not solely the affliction of Obamazoids.

  • Geo

    Pressure?

McCain was tortured. He still put COUNTRY FIRST.

You must think this is some kind of game to get Hillary elected in the future. I don’t care who the president is, as long as it is NEVER Obama.

Hillary should derail this dangerous Marxist.
She would be everyone’s HERO, and even I would vote for her in the future.

  • Barry bums a ciggie

Hillary has to do what she has to do.

Does she have to do it inside the vicinity of the voting area? Stop saying she has to do what she has to do, I’m not buying that anymore. She could go vote and go home and watch the results like the rest of us. Lady Rothschild has it right, if Barry wins and this country tanks, Hillary has a lot of explaining to do.

  • Dawnelle Leona del Puma

that’s my conclusion as well beebop
