Bin Ladin is dead. Again. In the last ten years he has been reported “killed” at least four times. The only difference this time was that the President of the United States announced the death of the number one terrorist in the world. Above all, this time he was killed not in Tora Bora, not Karra Kurrum, but Abbottabad – close to an army garrison in Pakistan. As expected, his killing has raised questions, and more questions, and still more questions every time a new statement is added to the swirl of fact and myth that is turning the bin Laden raid into the stuff of legend.

Basically, a foreign national has been killed by another foreign army. What does Pakistan have to do with this, then? Nothing and everything. And this nothing yet everything has placed Pakistan between a rock and a hard place.

If Pakistan admits that it helped US forces kill bin Laden it fears a backlash from the different militant organizations with in its boundaries, and if it denies any such cooperation then it will be labeled a supporter of Al Qaeda.

For this reason Pakistan – which is defined as the Pakistan Army and the agencies, including the infamous ISI – stayed silent. So silent that it’s scary. It’s the silence before the storm. This storm is not necessarily directed at the US, the CIA, Afghanistan or India. The tempest could be directed at foreign militants. Remaining silent was a wise approach and the best strategy so far for Pakistan. Be aware of that silence. The pendulum could swing either way. The forces that actually control Pakistan — and I’m not referring to politicians — could back any horse at this point. Or spread the wager across the board. Only time will tell.

The US media has been hammering Pakistan day and night. The media should consider Pakistan’s tight spot here. The US needs help, not just rooting terrorist networks out of Pakistan but in Afghanistan as well. It’s not easy for a country to sustain repeated bombardments, knowing that it depends on the country doing the bombing for large quantities of foreign aid. Already, a number of politicians and the Pakistani media are defining the bin Laden raid as another example of infringement of sovereignty and using bin Laden’s death to goad the US to pull out of Afghanistan. Rock, meet hard place. If only the US media understood that.

Then there have been conflicting reports coming out of various US departments. But the fact is that the raid could not have succeeded without the ISI’s help. Clearly bin Laden’s time was up. Given the ISI’s deserved reputation for treachery and intrigues, wouldn’t there have been a strong and deep bunker under that mansion to hide bin Laden? Or a maze of tunnels to help him and his family escape? Bin Laden was trapped, with the local support on the ground.

Obama said last night that he got confirmed reports of bin Laden’s location last week. I looked out for events that happened last week. President Obama was busy dealing with Trump’s nonsense, while the Pentagon was hosting ISI chief General Pasha. Coincidence? I don’t think so. There must have been a deal, a tit for tat.

Pakistan’s religious quarters have already started to question then authenticity of the killing. Above all, they have started asking US to wrap up their “war” and leave the region. Which again the US or NATO cannot afford to do. Not yet at least. The US has to deal with Afghanistan, Karzai, the Taliban, the Quetta shura…and the list goes on.

So let’s not get carried away here. The war is not over yet. Bin Laden killing has improved Obama’s approval ratings, but bin Laden’s death has hardly put a dent on al Qaeda. Keeping in mind that Al Qaeda’s’s real ideological inspiration is al-Zuwahiri, who’s still very much alive. And probably on the ISI’s watch list too.

HARP, if you’re going to get worked up with all this faux outrage and self-riteousness, you might as well try to write something interesting. “The left is angry that bin Laden was killed” Fox News talking point is so yesterday.  Oh, and it’s not true.  Best of luck.

Onofre’s arm, you’re wasting your time trying to be reasonable.  Many of these commenters are so out there that they still think a President who extended tax cuts for the rich is a socialist.  On the other hand if Sarah Palin called a press conference right now and said she’d changed the laws of nature to make the sun rise in the west and set in the east many of these folk would be building a shrine to her.

The Pakistan government has I at least 9 of OBL’s children and at least one wife that were taken into custody at the scene.  This is why the WH HAD TO CHANGE their initial story.  Witnessess are a damn inconvenience to a WH that has a history of lying.

With the story becoming an assasination BO needs to worry as much about his fawning friends waking up as he does about his enemies.

How could anyone possibly tell anything about its dumpiness or lack thereof from those overexposed crap photos?  Lots of light halos and fuzziness.  As was said the place was ransacked too.

Osama Bin Laden’s 12-year-old daughter was present when U.S. forces shot and killed her father at a Pakistani compound, it has emerged.  New details about the deadly Special Forces raid in Abbottabad emerged as U.S. officials backtracked on a claim made earlier that a wife of Osama Bin Laden acted as a human shield in an unsuccessful bid to save the Al Qaeda leader’s life.  The fresh reports also revealed that Bin Laden was unarmed when he was shot in the face.  Officials had first said that Bin Laden had stood behind a younger womanwith an AK-47.

If others feel the way I do, then Obama and his group are miscalculating–it’s been ten years of holding one’s breath.  Now I can only breathe a sigh of relief and say, “o.k.  now we can move on.”

If Obama understands this collective American feeling, he would not try to whip up anything and instead concentrate on the economic environment that was sown on 9/11.  But I won’t hold my breath for him to do something right economically for the majority of the American people.

“Truth is the first casualty of war.”

And it’s also the first casualty in most conspiracy theories.

One of the first questions to ask when assessing the validity of a conspiracy is, “How many people would have to be involved and sworn to utmost secrecy.” With an ACTUAL conspiracy, like the Soviet’s infiltration and influence in our government through the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s, and 60’s, there are “insiders” who confess and provide indisputable evidence that reveals the network, like Whittaker Chambers, and then all of the pieces of the complicated puzzle suddenly fit logically together. In these conspiracies, many of the questions asked by skeptics quite often have no reasonable alternate explanation that can be provided by those wishing to keep the conspiracy hidden. The truth always seems to come out, and with the release of Venona evidence, people like Alger Hiss, Lauchlin Currie, and Harry Dexter White were proven to be Soviet spies.

The “Truther” conspiracy, in order to be valid, would require literally thousands of willing participants, all keeping their mouths shut. Not a single person who supposedly planted “charges” in the WTC, or a person who allegedly guided a missile into the Pentagon, has stepped forward. None of the people who were on all four flights has been resurrected from death, and if they’re secretly alive somewhere, then it would be an impossibility that none of them has managed to get word to their loved ones that they’re alive. The entire conspiracy, and those morons who cling to it, represent a constant depraved insult to the victims of 9/11. The only “inside job” about 9/11 is the “job” done by truthers to fill the “inside” of empty skulls with their insane doctrine.

The “birther” conspiracy is no different in construct.

Now we have the emerging “Deather” conspiracy. Thanks to grossly irresponsible assholes like Alex Jones, all of the gaps in the narrative are quickly being filled with outrageous speculation, ridiculous innuendo, and flat out lies that can never be proven one way or another because it’s impossible to disprove a negative. Not only would the top echelon all need to be in on the hoax, but a team of no less than 100 people who planned and conducted the raid would also have to be in on it. And if you theorize that there never WAS such a team, then you’ll have thousands of people who would know THAT, because the type of very elite individuals who would automatically be tapped for such a mission, (and they know who they are) would be wondering, “Hey, WTF? Why weren’t WE called for this mission?”. Then, all of the people in intelligence, any witnesses, the Pakistanis, the maintenance crews assigned to the “missing” multi million dollar helicopter, and thousands of other tangential individuals who would have SOME bits of knowledge of the operation once it had been accomplished, would ALL be in on the hoax as well. Good grief! Alex Jones, and other dirtbags like him, MAKE THEIR LIVING BY CREATING THESE IDIOTIC SCENARIOS! And for every nitwit who subscribes to their bullshit, there’s a distinctive “cha-ching” that Alex hears when every fool tunes in to his nonsense.

    I can hear it now:

“Aside from the pictures, the personal accounts, the witnesses, the planners, and all of the other affirming evidence, I’ll not be satisfied until I see Bin Laden’s “Death Certificate”. And I don’t mean his “short form” death certificate, I want to see his long form “Certificate of Dead Death”, signed by Dr. Michael Baden, with a raised seal, and God’s thumb print on it, before I’ll believe that Bin Laden is truly dead!”

I am relieved that the mastermind of 9/11 and declared war on the US, is finally dead and Obama and his adm. deserves credit for completing what Clinton and Bush attempted to do in their watches.

The media is putting out the narrative of how courageous Obama was in authorizing the raid on Bin Ladin. The presidents before him have had to do similar decisions in their watch.  It goes with the job.  The men who undertook the mission risked their lives; every soldier knows this is part of their job for their country and people.  What Obama risked was the possibility of the groups failing to complete the mission and therefore impact Obama’s political life.  In the photograph taken in the situation room, he looked fearful–cringing as though he wanted to disappear in his seat.  But no matter how he came to make the right decision to proceed, for once I am glad he did the right thing.

I know we do not have the sharpest tools in the shed in the White House right now. Why would you change the account of this action from killed in a gun battle, using a woman as hostage while firing at the seals to , unarmed and killed did not use woman as hostage?
One version is self defense on killing ben laden. the other version is assassination that does nothing but add fuel to a fire.
One verision makes him a killer, the other a martyr.
These people really have no clue. Why on God’s green earth would you give your enemy a propoganda tool?

Okey, Larry. Let us go to this topic. Yesterday while blogging I bumped into a comment made by Anderson Cooper and the AP stating that there was a new video through the arab pipelines from Bin Laden. And that they felt that this “audio or video” was after he was shot. Today , I looked for everything concerning these annoucements and they are missing. A/p is gone- Cooper’s is gone and the arab pipe line stories concerning this new video from Bin Laden was gone. Now, since I haven’t believed this man after seeing the fiasco layers fraud from his BC, I wanted to make sure that the guy they shot and threw into the sea was in fact Osama. Now, I cannot even find one topic concerning this statements- especially Coopers. You are good in finding things- how about trying to see where this new video is and why the comments were removed from us. Maybe they are there–but I can’t seem to get them again. Another thing, not being paranoid, probably they did catch him, but I went to Al Jazzarla the Muslim website run by the USA and there was a adobephoto shop of Bin Laden showing his face with bullets in his face. I personally wrote them and told them that this was a picture of Bin laden and that it was made over. I remember this picture of him. What is going on here? Until I see some evidence, I will not believe it. The neighbors o Osama said that they knew the family and that they never imagine after 11 years that he lived there. So, since you guys are certain that this is him, prove it to me.

Can anyone tell me why the story of the raid is not being changed? First it was OBL put up a fight, there was a fire fight I would take it to mean that guns were blazing back and forth.

Now this morning its there were no guns, no fight, yet he was killed, one of his wives did not even sheild him as first reported, so exactly why is there this change in the story??

  • Rabble Rouser Rev. Amy

Yes, Obama has been flat out saying he hopes this will be a unifying moment like 9/11 was. Wow…

  • kinthenorthwest

I have a feeling that I will get jumped all over by many on here but here goes…. But I also have a feeling that I am not the only one going ?????

First off dont get me wrong, I am so VERY VERY glad that BinLaden is dead.

Yet, the more I think about this whole mess the more questions I keep coming up with….

The manner in which it was all handled and the timing make it so ripe for conspiracy theories…WHY the rapid burial at sea?? Why were there and are there various stories now going around about its timing( I know only idiots question what comes down from the WH)

So is this what the Obama team want??? More conspiracy messes to quell the media mess  that was just beginning to come out about Obama.

You know sort of like “Anyone that keeps questioning the government and/or Obama must be just a bunch of crazies” So quit questioning what they say…

Hey it all could be just conincidence or ???????
