The vast majority of blacks (I am a 63 yr old female Hillary supporter) did vote for him exactly because he is half black and on no other basis. I did not, neither did one of my sisters and one of my 2 daughters. The other 10 members of my family voted for him precisely because he is black and they said so. They are college educated middle class people who grew up as I did in a hard life (chopped and picked cotton) in MS then moved north. They seem to think voting for Obama makes up for the racial slights we encountered during our growing up years. None of them marched as I did with Dr. King. With his racial lies he has dishonored Dr King's legacy. I can't stand to look at the lying phony. Rachael. He totally ruined whatever chances he had of winning by choosing as VP a woman who obviously is ignorant of the world outside of Alaska (and who barely managed to graduate from college after changing 5 of them, somewhat of a record..),and who couldn't have stepped in to be POTUS. Who is so devoid of any curiosity that she never even thought of visiting a foreign land, even Canada, or that same Russia, her of-so-close neighbor. McCain sold his soul for the last chance to get that ultimate prize. And I wonder what he sees in the mirror now..and whether he regrets having run such a dirty and dishonorable campaign, Obama, on the other hand,never lowered himself to McCain's level, and conducted a decent, clean campaign. If only there were some way of making it required reading for every voter!!! Oh well, we must look forward, not back. My poor sister is so disillusioned and despondent, she has vowed to never again get involved in a political campaign. She is a struggling single mom who donated what little savings she had to Hillary Clinton's campaign, then fought hard for John McCain. But I've convinced her that John and Sarah ran a great race, it was much closer than Dems ever dreamed it would have been, considering 8 years of Bush, war, economic crises, Katrina, etc, and many states were within 1 percentage point. One thing we know is true...time flys; let's hope it does for the next 4 years, that we survive as a nation, with a shred of democracy left intact.
