Post-Election Day Message To…Well, Everybody

Now that this seemingly endless election has finally drawn to a close, it’s time to take some inventory. And I have a few things on my mind.

Message to Obama supporters, including the netroots, Air America, various and sundry celebrities, Daily Kos commenters and others (you know who you are): At some point during the primaries all of you seemed to forget that the Democratic Party is just that: A political party. It is not a treehouse, a secret society or an exclusive country club. Your reprehensible attacks on Hillary Clinton, which included digging up every unhinged right-wing conspiracy theory (Vince Foster anyone?), were not worthy of any of you. You were happy co-conspirators in the vile smear campaign against the Clintons. You were OUTRAGED that Hillary Clinton had the temerity to stake a claim on the Florida and Michigan delegates. Didn’t Democrats used to be in favor of things like universal enfranchisement? It seems like that was so long ago. You accused those who didn’t support Obama of being racist when you knew full well that accusation was a bald-faced lie, bullied and browbeat the Hillary Clinton supporters, mocked the idea that all the votes be counted before a nominee was chosen, joined the craven Democratic amen corner in demanding that Hillary drop out of the race following Super Tuesday, and then, like an abusive husband, expected Hillary supporters to let bygones be bygones and come back home. There were many times when the quotes I read on your blogs and heard on the air were indistinguishable from Tom DeLay’s. You all should be ashamed of yourselves. I know many of you. I expected better.

Message to the Democratic Party: What a disgrace you are, the bunch of you. Where were you when Hillary Clinton was being savaged in the press? Isn’t this party supposed to support the dignity of women – or does that principle include a clause that exludes Hillary Clinton? Why wasn’t Howard Dean holding press conferences EVERY DAY demanding that this frat house behavior cease and desist? You dropped the ball on Florida and Michigan and then pulled a stunt worthy of James Baker.

Message to the Media: This election cycle proves beyond a shadow of a doubt that the independent critical media is dead and gone. Network executives permitted – nay, encouraged – their neanderthal on-air personalities to heap abuse of the vilest sort on Hillary Clinton, all in the name of ratings. You ignored the importance of the Florida and Michigan story, choosing instead to focus on fairy dust, ponies and rainbows. Objectivity and fairness went out the window. You totally failed in your public responsibility to inform, choosing instead to cheerlead and entertain.

I pray that Obama is ready to lead. The country is in deep trouble and needs a strong, serious leader to guide us out of the Bush-Cheney wilderness. But is Obama ready? Thanks to all the parties mentioned above, I just don’t know. And that’s mighty scary.

        Reuters is reporting that Hamas has fired 35 missiles into Israel last night. It also said the “peace” agreement would continue as long as Israel did not retaliate. Russia is also reported to be moving forces toward our missile defense system.

        It seems Obama is the “One” they have been waiting for.

        May God have mercy on our nation for we know not what we have done.

        Did anyone catch the video on FOX of the Obama supporters holding the the sicle and hammer flags of Russia?

        Can anyone doubt that the media was not the only thing that died this election season? The Democratic Party, the party of FDR, Truman, JFK and Bobby, has also died. Now the choice has come. What do traditional Democrats do. Do they jump on the far left bandwagon and become what they hated about this candidate (Obama) and accept that it is now the New Socialist Democratic Party of America, or do you join us conservatives that believe in smaller government, less taxation of our citizens, individual responsibility and the right to acheieve all you are willing to work for? Do you work to reinstate the policy that “every vote counts”? It didn’t count with Hillary. We now have a president elect who was selected by Howard Dean, Donna Brazille, the DNC rules committee and the media. Are you willing to accept that?

        And while we have been told what a racist nation we are, being called “racist” if we were not for Obama, will we now see an end to Affirmative Action since an American, of any skin color, can and has become president?

        And can someone tell me how to rid this horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach that our nation is on the path to ending the Great Experiment that our Founding Fathers gave us?

        “What have you given us, Mr. Franklin?” the woman ask? “A Republic, madam” said Benjamin Franklin, adding “if you can keep it.”

          This is scary. We must stay vigilant. I want to be hopeful that the American people will wake up. I mean the media is already starting to soften on Bush. I’m not a huge fan of him but where was this a few months ago? If they hadn’t been so adamantly anti-Republican, perhaps we’d have a different outcome. A small group of extremists fooled a larger group of otherwise intelligent Americans into thinking that they weren’t really radicals. They spent almost a billion dollars keeping up the act. They bought our “trust.” But they can’t keep up the act for long. The honeymoon period will end quickly – perhaps even before the inauguration. And PUMAs, we will pounce!

          Today is the day to start organizing and preparing for any and all contingencies.

          I am hoping Larry feels the same way and that we will continue for what is right.

            When the protesters took to the street in 1968, lead by those like William Ayers, selling the books by Marx, Lenin and Gramsci at their rallies, I fought them.

            When they spit on my brother, returning home from Vietnam, as he disembarked his ship in California, I fought them.

            When they tried to push through the Shamnesty Bill, I fought them.

            When the Howard Dean fraction of the DNC smeared Hillary, I fought them by voting for her in the Texas primary (although I am a registered Republican). And she won by 100K votes, but still the corruption of the caucuses in Texas gave it to Obama.

            And because of the stupidity of the American people, I will continue to fight them. For me, this is a battle against “creeping” socialism, except now it will be injected with steroids.

            The fight is in me; from my ancestors who survived the Trail of Tears, to those who fought to come to America to flee the potato famine in Ireland, to those who died for a new Republic where the only thing they asked for was the right to lead their lives in peace and prosper without the government oppressing them.

            I will continue to fight them. And I will never, ever accept Barack Hussein Obama as MY president. He won dishonestly; from his illegal contributions from foreign lands, to his lying about his associations with nasty people, to his secrecy about his own history.

            I have no choice in Texas but to be a R or a D. I am so disgusted with the DNC that I will never vote for another D until they return to the party my ancestors believed in.

            When they continue to circle the wagons for people like William Jefferson, instead of demanding he resign as McCain/Palin said Ted Stevens did, I will fight them. The Democratic Party no longer cares about America; they care about power.

        I’ve been saying this for years now, the conflict between Russia and the US are bound to turn into a war somewhere in the world. The fact it’s Obama who’ll be dealing with it is really concerning. The Russians are going crazy about Obama’s win claiming this is the final nail in the US’ coffin. You have to realise how people in the east think. When the west values friendly relationship with mutual respect, the east values control where fear equals respect. Obama is seen as extremely weak and the enemies of the US will step on the stage thinking that no one will stop them. Not the US, not NATO, no one.

        Quite frankly, I think the US has already lost the game to Russia. Europe is dependant on their energy and Russia is turning every America-hating nation into an ally. They’re currently giving nuclear weapons to Iran & Libya and palling around with North Korea, China and Venezuela. Russia is getting rich due to their energy resources which will have even bigger role when the oil is running out. And what does America have? The country’s allegiance to Israel will make sure the US will meddle with Middle East when the countries in the area start to threaten with the nuclear bombs Russia gave them. It’s way too easy. We’re talking about countries that are dependant on their oil which will ran out in approximately 6 decades. These countries will gradually face extreme financial difficulties since tourism isn’t really ‘in’ in Iran. And we all know how easy it is to provoke fundamental people, especially during hard times. This might all blow up in the face of western nations.

        This is right in line with what I said last night to friends. In Obama’s first year or so, I see a huge terrorist attack on American soil, one secretly planned by Russia. It’ll look like the usual Islamic extremists, but Russia will have been the secret driver, perhaps supplying one of those loose nukes or nuclear material for a dirty bomb. In the confusion following the attack, Russia will take the opportunity to make some military moves on former states to punish them for their NATO ambitions and to secure it’s strategic position on oil in the region. They’ll likely put the screws to Western Europe immediately by cutting off the Georgian oil pipelines to send a message about who’s in charge.

        If we’ve left Iraq, Iran will have likely been doing some saber-rattling against Iraq and destabilized that region enough to move through it freely to attack Israel via Syria, while America is reeling from the terrorist attack. Iran and Syria will likely be aided and abetted by Hezbollah in Lebanon. Israel may just nuke Damascus and Tehran.

        There’s any number of scenarios for disaster, most including Russia and Iran, and most of them would likely cause huge turmoil in the oil markets and make the recent soaring oil prices look like chump change. Bush’s exhausting of our military resources and Obama’s lack of experience and promised military spending cuts will likely work together to make us utterly unprepared to meet these situations. Dopey international affairs “expert” Joe Biden will be no help at all.

        Anyway, these may be paranoid fantasies, but I think we’re in for a world of hurt. We’re not going to have the option to ignore the rest of the world to take part in some sort of national encounter movement–est for everyone! Our need for diminishing supplies of oil will drive us to stay engaged in these trouble spots, or simply deeply connected to their political situations via our dependence on stable oil production.

          We btter hope, considering the close proximity, that Russia doesn’t decide to go after the oil in Alaska, that we don’t seem to think we need to be drilling for. I doubt they will be as concerned for the Polar Bears as Jennifer Anniston is. Stupid, stupid Hollywood. Stupid, stupid Americans. This is what happens when you let rappers and movie stars give political advice to us, and US, People and Rolling Stone Endorsements carry more weight than the Washington Times.

          You know, if I were Putin I’d bomb some Russian territory and blame it on the US. Then I’d start moving troops to “defend” Russia. This is a tactic they’ve practised often, also with Georgia.

          And nobody trusts America if they have a president like Obama who keeps changing his mind and can not decide who are his allies and who are not. The first thing Obama will have to learn is that stances like the one he took when Russia attacked Georgia are not acceptable. He can not pander both sides because in the end no one will trust his words.

          As for domestic policy, the democrats now hold the majority in every level of power. I’m intrigued to see if universal health care becomes reality as promised, because they can’t use the excuse of evil republicans standing in their way. But since there’s no money I’m guessing this plan will be fogotten like the rest of his crazy promises. And then people claimed they voted for the guy because of his policies..

          I will guarantee you a couple of things.

          1) Volunter in the Armed Forces will decline drastically. the vast majority of personnel that signs up for the Armed Forces are from rural America which are now disenfranchised by Obama’s “bitterly clinging to guns and religion” diatribe. Obama’s had better hope that those hollywood actors can fight in real life since he won’t have real heros volunteering to fight wars for him.

          2) Obama’s will cut the military budget drastically. since he will not have a lot of people signing up for the military, he will then cut the budget for military hardware. the last time this happened, the US entered the vietnam war unprepared and underfunded and we lost.

          3) Since Obama is more open to the idea of a national civilian security force, our strategic stance on international military theater will decline. Israel will be in peril and it already started with Hama lobbing rockets into Israel while Obama was celebrating in Grant Park. those jews who voted for Obama had better pray that Israel’s military remains strong.

          4) Iran is sure to gain a nuclear weapon. it will change the balance of power in the middle east and again, Israel will be in peril.

          5) the border between the US and Mexico will not secured. illegal immigration is not the main problem there, Al Qaeda infiltration via the Mexico border is the main problem.

          I hope that all of those elitists, journalists, and green activists are willing to grab a weapon to protect America from terrorists since their candidate have won and their candidate will drastically gut the military which is the only thing standing between Americans and Al Qaeda.

          I hope Chris Matthews and Ketih Olberman get’s drafted first when Obama realizes that he had cut the military too much. It’s also a fact that Obama wants women to register for the selective service as well. Part of his plan is to reduce the military but to ensure that he can draft the most number of people when it’s needed. the problem with this is that we will not have a military that is prepared and that is willing to sacrifice for its country. we saw that during the vietnam war where those who were drafted where not prepared and were not motivated enough. while their service is to be commended, it is a fact that motivation in the armed forces were at an all time low during that time and where motivation is low, chances of winning a war is nill.

          some may not like what I’ve said, but it is what it is.

        So I go to this link and sure enough, the Russians are moving missles closer to Poland. But the article indicates that it is a reaction to the missle defense shield that we are putting in Poland. You know, and I know, the shield is for stopping “rogue nations” from shooting a nuke or two at us, but the Russians, they’re not so sure. They think, “what lunatic would ensure the complete eradication of his or her country by doing so?” They can’t come up with one. Nor can they think of a group (Hamas,et al.)who could acquire and deploy a missle with the range to reach the US without our crackerjack intelligence agencies noticing. Who does that leave?
        But not to fear. W is still in charge. The Russians move is premature. They will be dealt with harshly, just like when they invaded Georgia. And a good thing, too, because Obama would just want to “talk” to them when we should be crashing across their borders. They only respect Force! Again I point to our stern rebuke of their last little escapade. Did they learn nothing?

      I don’t think BO can lead. He has never led anything in his life, except a fraudulent packaging and sale of himself to voters desperate to escape the clutches of Bush and, hopefully, also desperate to find a way to free their minds from the fear-induced dumbing down he has generated.

      If there will be any leadership anywhere, I believe it will come from the bipartisan alliance between Hillary and John McCain, who, hopefully, can help the mortgage mess sort itself out, save social security and medicare, prevent a shift to some insane capntrade/carbon tax/flat tax/consumption tax nightmare, and make sure that there are grownups around to keep track of the acting-out children.

      I’m still looking to Hillary, even if being prez is not on the cards for her. She can do a lot from where she is, being who she is, and doing what is right for the American people.

            I noticed that too. At least on CNN international eg Ohio and Florida kept being on ’50% counted’ literaly for hours.

            Anyhoo: this election was basically Bush-Obama (anyone with interest in politics knew that McCain isn’t Bush but most lapped ‘McSame’ up like a hungry dog). Bush had the narrative against him for years before this election ever started, opposing BO needs the same.

            Obama spent 4 times as much as his opponent, Obama won.

            Obama bought the Presidency.

            There’s your narrative, and the beauty is it is undeniable BO did spent so much more money, he even proclaimed it proudly during his campaign over and over.

          Call 212-213-3717, Friends of Hillary and ask for a refund. I saw it on another post, so I called.
          The young person who answered the phone said someone would call me back, but he did agree they were giving refunds. He also asked where I got the information that they were giving refunds, I told him from a “friend”. I’m sure they will know soon enough this is out there and shut it down.
          I’m felt bad I had to do this, but Hillary needs to share the wealth that I sent to her, I am still paying on the loan I took out to send to her campaign.

I personally don’t think I am going to just sit like a sitting duck and wait for our enemies to do what Joe Biden said. I believe Joe was right. Something horrible that Obama is not prepared to deal with will happen. How the ignorant Obama voters could possibly subject our country to this freak I will never know. I pray that God does the right thing before January and stops this train wreck. Where is Patrick Fitzgerald when you need him? The only thing I pray for now is Obama in cuffs.

      Senator Obama’s victory is a hollow and illegitimate one.
      He won by undermining our democratic institutions and by reintroducing dirty money into presidential campaigns. There can be no accommodation with a president who was elected with hundreds of millions of dollars in clandestine campaign cash.

      Today I also become a leader of the loyal opposition that will stand against the policies Senator Obama supported during the campaign. The election may be over. The battle for America is just beginning.

    I am a Libertarian leaning Republican who was extremely disappointed in Bush….he has really set the GOP back.
    That being said, politics is cyclical. Rome must be burned and re-built. After Obama takes this country far left, the country will readily accept a true conservative who doesn’t inject evangelical vitriol iinto the debate.
    Trust me, Pelosi, Reid and Obama will not be able to help themselves. And, after raising, $700 million, Obama has a lot of favors to dole out.

      Shame on the Republicans and the conservatives for not supporting McCain. You may not agree with everything he said, but McCain was the best hope for reforming the Republican party and reviving conservatism.

      Instead, all the in-fight and refusal to distance the Party from the failed administration of George W. Bush is what brought down McCain- not McCain.

      And instead of supporting Palin (which, as a Democrat, thought was a BRILLIANT choice) they used bitter, jealous pundits like Peggy Noonan to criticize her publicly and used female reporters like Kate Couric (a damn disgrace) to demonize Sarah for the male media to afford their obvious sexism.

      The Republicans have no one to blame for themselves. October Surprise??? The economy. That’s what put Obama in office. George W.’s failure as a leader became so obvious to even the Republicans.

        Yes, I heard that the Republican vote was down 40%. That’s how Obama won. The Republicans didn’t like McCain (not extreme enough for them) so they didn’t vote.

        One thing to think about is that this country is in a super mess. It will be a miracle if the next president is able to please even the people who voted for him. If he starts doing a bunch of extreme stupid stuff, he’ll be out.

          It’s a sad day when the Republican party stayed home instead of rallying behind their nominee who is an American hero who gave 5-1/2 years of his life in a prison camp for HIS COUNTRY. They could have so easily gone to the polls and award him with 4 years in the White House.

          The Republicans are no better than the Democrats who rewarded a man who sat in a hate filled church for 20 years, palled around with radicals, and bought his house with a convicted felon, not to mention electing a first lady who in 2008, for the first time in her adult life is proud of her country.

Mid term elections will bring some relief, and 2012 we will return to the center if Barky is not wise enough to govern from there. I’m proud and protective of my country. I would close ranks with like-thinking Americans in the blink of an eye if anybody threatened our right to vote or our Constitutional democracy. I am center right on FP and econ but liberal on social policy. The loudest branch of the Repub party is obsessed with restricting gay and women’s rights… it doesn’t seem to me that is where the country is. I believe govt is to protect freedom (civil rights), not restrict them. Based on what a couple of Repubs have been saying on tv this morning, they feel they need to pay more attention to the social issues. It was disappointing to say the least.

      I am definitely going to keep my blog going, and I think rather than focus on Obama (because he does not deserve my energy or attention) I will use my blog to work towards electing a female president (possibly Palin).

      It is clear from this election that women are our own worst enemy, and while I am feeling angry at women right now, like they don’t deserve a female president, I also don’t want MY life dragged down because a lot of women are too blind to understand how important supporting women in power is.

      So that will be my focus. We need to start in 2009 to counter the smears against Palin and work on those women who are so blinded by Roe v. Wade that they are willing to vote against a woman to put yet another man into office.

        Boy, do I regret that vote!
        It didn’t take too long for the kool-aid to wear off.

    There was a time I used to visit this blog every day. Today, I’m breaking a promise to myself (that I’d never come here again).

    This has turned into the worst kind of hate blog– you people have been wallowing in your bitterness for months now, digging up all kinds of kooky smear-jobs out of the depths of the right-wing smear machine.

    I understand your anger over some things that happened in the primaries– but I have to say, as someone who grew up in Michigan, that given the chance to campaign there, I’m pretty sure Obama would have won it… and I also believe that Hillary only started winning when, (a.) She started the attacks (like–Obama couldn’t stand on the same stage with McCain) and (b.) Republicans started voting with her to defeat Obama. There are some states, like Indiana, that she would not have won without Republican mischief-making.

    My questions to you: Are you going to continue to wallow, or are you going to do something constructive? Do we need to get out the straight jackets? Anyone who supports a ticket with Sarah Palin on it, when the top guy is 72 and has melanoma, may be too far gone for help.

    I couldn’t care less about the Dem. Party. Our electoral system is a mess! It needs reform. The Republicans, who you now support, have made it policy to win by disenfranchising as many Democrats as they can, by the way, so it’s a bit silly for you to whine about disenfranchisement, isn’t it?

      Judec: It was not the Republicans who decided to put off a decision on Florida and Michigan until the summer. It was not the Republicans who disenfranchised the voters of those two states. The blame lies squarely with the Democratic party. And Hillary’s “attacks” on Obama? Child’s play compared to the hatchet job Obama’s surrogates did on her and her husband, not to mention the media. A lot of individuals and entities need to be taken to task.

The same NYT that gladly produced a bogus story about an alleged McCain affair yet refused to dig deep into Obama’s past drug use.
      Let us also not forget the MSM silence when Obama threatened a DOJ investigation against a journanlist simply for trying to get records on the Chicago anneberg challenge.

    Thought I would share the email I just sent Michael Moore in response to his vitriol praisng the One this morning.

    I really don’t know where to begin. I just can’t understand how you can say all those things about Obama when the evidence is quite clear. He is the most unqualified person to ever run for president, and also the most blatantly corrupt. 10 minutes researching his hometown newspapers from the time he was in the Illinois State Senate was enough to show he intentionally changed laws to allow his friend Rezko to commit his crimes. I know you care deeply about the poor people of Flint Michigan, and about many other worthy causes. I suppose I had always hoped you would eventually do some research rather than just buy the hopey changey act they put on. But you didn’t, you still believe the hype, even though it has been proven by independent sources again and again, that he can’t possibly do even half of what he says he will. Did you listen to the full interview he did with that San Francisco newspaper? Or just believe his campaigns rhetoric that he was misquoted. If his energy plans are enacted, expect the poor of Flint Michigan to be freezing to death next winter, and realize you will be partly to blame by refussing to investigate him even 1/10 as diligently as you have the gun industry, or our current traitor in chief GW Bush. Did you never read Obama’s plans to utilize the same corrupt private security firms like Black Water to replace our military personnel in Iraq. Is that the sort of change you want? Half the man power killing with impunity as you have reported they have, and at twice the cost to us! I am and always will be a Democrat on principles, but right now I am ashamed of my party. How you can say he ran a clean race, when there is PROVEN fraud from the caucuses. His campaign intentionally painted people who were there and actually marched with Martin Luther King as racists! His campaign surrogates ran the dirtiest campaign in history! And he said NOTHING against them. Even when people showed up at his rallies wearing T-shirts with such vile language, no self respecting man would dare utter it. He was silent! When his cousin had his thugs burn churches full of women and children alive in Kenya, after he went there and campaigned for him at US taxpayers expense. Again he was silent! I had been a fan of yours, I own DVD’s of all of your documentaries, and even had viewings of Sicko in my home to show Republican friends how important it was that we stop the BushCo corrupt medical establishment during the primaries. Hillary would have done it. Despite all the lies and deceptions put out by the race baiting Obama campaign, she still won the Primary, and it fell to the corrupt RBC of the DNC to steal the nomination for Obama. As soon as I hit send, I will be snapping those DVD’s in half, and I will NEVER visit your website, or view another of your documentaries until you have issued a public apology for helping perpetrate this fraud on the American People!

    The pieces of those DVD’s now reside in my trash can awaiting pick-up Friday morning.

    One thing nobody talks about is that the turn out in this election was lower then in the last one. 121 in 2004 and 118 in this election. I guess the republicans did not come out to vote. Bush really did a number on the republican party.

    Thank you for reminding me what the Democratic Party is supposed to be about, and for making the case that the current DNC is corrupt and dispicable. Since I am no longer a Democrat, I won’t commit to working to change them, but I hope by the next election, we can have a strong independent voting bloc that rivals the Unions.

    I haven’t decided if I can continue being politically active right now, but I will be watching closely to see if Obama is ever made to answer for his hidden background, his unethical dealings, and his radical connections. I’d still like to know if he’s even legally qualified to serve. That may still be an issue with legs, but I’ve kind of lost hope that anything will come of it. If he was born in Kenya, I suspect the Dems will push through a law changing that Constitutional requirement, or a Supreme Court will refuse to hear it for the sake of national reconciliation.

    I urge all readers of this blog to take some time to cool down and accept defeat as gracefully as Hillary and John McCain have done. I know it’s hard, but let’s be mature.

    There will always be the need for government watch-dogs, and that’s a role we need to strive for.

    I will still be around, for what it’s worth. I feel a part of this group, and I look forward to our evolving role in the arena of American politics.

      We leave in democracy after all, we have right to be opposition or to have concerns. All of us who grew up in communism know what one party system means – no opposition. I hope I will not see it here. The first step – financial collapse, you lose your money and your home. Than they give you a place to leave and you have certain number of square feet. If your house is too big, they will force you to share it with others. You might think that people in the communist countries were different or deserved it, but most of them were great countries which were ruined by bad decisions of a few.

    OK – I guess I can’t give up yet – I was over at Obama Crimes and it seems the Supreme Court has yet to rule on whether Ohitler will have to show his vault birth certificate. My feeling is that since he is now the President-elect it truly is a Constitutional issue. If you go and read the comments it may offer some encouragement that it may not be over yet. Roberts is a conservative justice and he will have to be the one to swear Obama in thereby certifying that he does meet the qualifications of POTUS. My hope and prayer is that at least they will check into the vault birth record and passport to Pakistan when he visited there after age 18.

    Obama reminded us in his speech that he is the president of all of us, even those who did not vote for him, but he has heard us. Well, if so, he needs to be sure Hillary’s talent is not wasted during his administration, and to acknowledge her in some way. He needs to stop the trashing of women.     1) a distinct and well known place to go to develop a strategy to defend ourselves against oppression and use of illegal force, discrimination against whites, christians, and dissenting Democrats and blacks etc. And fight Congress.(ACLU is in with the Marxists and terrorists obviously)

    2) a distinct and well known place to report and fight “fairness doctrine”

    3) ….a secure and definitive way to disseminated info on where/how to form rallies, protests, and petitions…. (OBAMA will never permit this to happen under his watch)

    4) …a place for normal people can go to chat and ..where they can contribute donations to and share news, supplies and lodging if neccessary.

    5)….a classical liberal / conservative internet TV station/news service……..because even the wall street journal has shifted to the far left NOW!!!!! (and i’m dumping my subscription today; even FOX didn’t report adequately)

    6) ….develop a coalition of TRUE classical liberal American Professionals: lawyers, journalists/writers, scientists, teachers, doctors, etc.

    7) …manner of helping publish classical liberal themed books online when others won’t.

I started out this election year not pro anyone. I was angry, and i feel rightly so. Every single member of congress had voted for Bushes escapade in Iraq. And no amount of partisan he said or she said could change that. and to be honest there was not one qualified candidate. Not one individual who could truly change this country for the better and certainly not over night. every single one of them promising things i knew, and everyone knows they could’t change. why did i want clinton.     This election turned everything upside for me, as a democrat. We were the party who stood up for the average citizen…we were the party with compassion for those less fortunate…we were the party who valued integrity and honesty. Well, at least that’s what I thought my party stood for. Instead I discovered the democrats represented none of those things. When all was said and done, my vote meant nothing. I was called every vile and nasty name by fellow democrats. I witnessed democrats unwilling to consider the alternative, and instead viciously attack others who expressed doubt, concern, or facts that substantiated our doubts and concerns. Everything I witnessed was what the republican party represented, not us. My, how wrong I was. My only personal regret for this election is that there weren’t more republicans on my ballot to endorse. The democrats screwed me, from the top of the party all the way down to it’s local leadership.

    I supported Hillary Clinton for many reasons but the main one was I feel she would have been fair, just and governed from the center. I supported McCain and Palin for the same reasons as well as for Palin’s record of reform in Alaska and McCain not taking earmarks.

    My vote was a protest vote against my Democratic Party for their actions during the primaries.

    As a woman, the treatment of Hillary from her own party sent a clear message to me:

    No girls allowed in the clubhouse.

    If any other male candidate had won the primary after the way Hillary was treated, I would have still cast a protest vote.

    I stated many times my beef was not with my fellow African American citizens — I totally understood and applauded their support of Obama and the historic significance of this moment for our country.

    What I am angry about is that I, and other women who supported the historic significance of Hillary’s candidacy, were not given the same respect.

    Instead of saying “We understand why you, a woman, would support Hillary,” I was called a racist. Over and over and over and over again.

    Democrat women were told by their own party, “Your needs are not as important as the man’s needs. Your success is less important than a man’s success. Shut up and get over it.”

    Last night I heard many an African American commentator say, “Now I can tell my kids they can grow up to be president.”

    No, not entirely true.

    Now you can tell your SONS they can grow up to be president.

    Your daughters have heard another message.

    They now know that if they aspire to the highest office in the land they will be critiqued on their hairstyle and clothes they wear, whether they’re hot or not, that they’re weak if they shed a tear, that their voice is too shrill or too deep, that they somehow got where they are by some fluke of marriage or geography, and that their children may not be their own.

    Your daughters now know that if they aspire to the highest office in the land, they risk being called …

    Then somehow it started in on Obama, but I appreciated it for pointing out his weaknesses of as a presidential candidate. I wanted a Democrat to win so badly, and if Obama couldn’t win, then he was a bad choice. Besides, I liked and admired Sen. Clinton.

    Then NQ began to descend into sheer anti-Obama demagoguery.

    Then it went from the top of my reading list to the bottom.

    Then it scraped bottom, and became just another McCain/Republican echo-chamber website… no, not ~just~ another, but a particularly virulent one, worse even than the candidate himself in its unbridled negativity and demagoguery.

    Then I took it off my blog roll entirely.

    Then Obama won — hallelujah!

    Now I am departing altogether. I trust you will now descend even further into sheer irrelevance and well-deserved obscurity, fit only for the despicable sort of people who booed when McCain graciously praised Obama in his concession speech.

    This election victory just replaces one drama with another. He’s inherited two wars and a failing economy yet has a trillion dollars worth of campaign promises out there. Good luck and get to work. When is my tax cut, my house price increase, peace in the middle east, and my solar powered car coming?

    The big problem now (for me) is that I don’t know where this leaves centrist Democrats. I’ll always be pro-choice and pro-gay rights and still believe we need to provide a good education and reasonable health care to all Americans.

    But the left seems determined to destroy the economic engine that has helped make all things possible, and at the same time implement a pacifist foreign policy that ignores the dangerous realities of the world. That to me is just as dangerous – maybe more dangerous – than anything the Republicans have done.

    One more thing to consider – there WILL be a scandal in the white house – I guarantee it. Obama has too many corrupt friends, colleagues, etc, and one of them will be caught with their hand in the cookie jar. Might even be Michelle.

There is no change with the same people in control. I voted for divided govt but was hanging on that there would be some change in the power structure in govt and average people would get some kind of representation this time.

    Let me add, I am DISGUSTED that prop 8 may pass in this state. What a bunch of bigots. The courts will shoot it down for blatant discrimination. It would be nice to focus on running the country rather than wasting time on legislating people crotches. Sickening.

I just got back from visiting her at school and engraved on her dorm was”dedicated to all the fine young man who live here”. 24 years ago her school became co-ed. The “best and brightest” attend.     Thank you for being there throughout this ordeal. I am devastated and in shock. I feel, however, somewhat comforted by the fact the Democrats didn’t get the entire Congress, so there may well be some check there from the Republicans. I had feared a single party government, which really is dangerous….

    I don’t think Obama is up to the job and I expect that after a media run coronation in which we will be told we are witnessing the Second Coming, the media will have to find something else to do to justify its existence. At that point the honeymoon for the Obamas will end and then some of what so many of us have been saying will come out. Thin-skinned as they both are this is going to be very painful.

    My main source of sadness now is the death of feminism. After the overt abuse both HRC and Palin had to take from Obama, his campaign, their supporters and the media, it is clear to me that open season has been declared on women. The younger generation of women know nothing about working for women’s rights and have selfishly benefited from the work that so many of us have done for generations. Now it is pay back time. They are about to get lessons at home and in the workplace on what it is like to be discriminated against and treated unfairly. (And Obama has already started with his staff–paying women less than his male staffers….)It isn’t going to be pretty, but it sadly will be necessary. Roe v. Wade isn’t the issue. Equality is and if two accomplished women who have devoted their lives to public service can’t “make it,” and are torn to bits for trying then the thick-thumbed, narcissistic sociopathic, generation of childish adults can’t either.

    Frankly, I’m ready to watch what goes around come around and bite some very young, spoiled butts….

I didn’t think I wouuld ever feel like this when the candidate of my choice lost, but this is a brand new feeling and I cannot ever accept Barack Obama as My President. It is so heartbreaking.     I just want to say thanks for this article and thanks to Larry and everyone on NoQuarter for the informative posts that kept us all going these long bitter months. First with the political rape of Hillary; and then of McCain and Palin.

    I always thought this site was the coolest and one of unity, dems, repubs, and indie’s like me all uniting for the common cause. It is truly remarkable.

    I am also of the persuasion that Obama is the antichrist, anti-messiah, enemy of Israel, so to me, this is far from over. My advice is to keep your passports ready or get one if you don’t have one, you never know if you’ll need to escape to Switzerland or somewhere when the fruits of Obama’s “labor” are ready for harvest. I don’t expect it to be good. And no, I do not agree that he is ready to run this country.

    The only thing I noticed during his acceptance speech et al was the look on his face to his wife michelle like: “wow, baby, we ran some good game on rich, white america.” And others said similar comments after that about race.     In honor of HRC and Palin–and myself–I am not watching any News until after the inauguration. I will not buy any magazines with Obama’s picture on it and I will not read newspapers like the NYT that were so biased in his favor. Obama’s Big Brother techniques have shaped the mindset of this country and the only way to fight that is to not participate in or support it. I also shall pick the movies and the other shows I watch, because we are now voting with our economic support of the very media and entertainment that chose our president.

    This whole thing reminds me of the OJ trials….He got away with murder–for a time. Obama has bought the White House–for a time….

I join with the writer of the article – but not with those in the thread that presume all that supported Hillary had to vote for McCain to prove something. I suspect PUMAs – and I am a male PUMA – need to start the formation of a third party because the DNC will not allow itself to be reformed of the Donna Brazille/Dean cesspool swimmers unless they are facing a viable threat – and I want the Denver Group’s reform proposals to become real. Seems silly for posters to get angry at the PUMAs that refused to vote for Obama, but did not vote for McCain (about half of the 4 million PUMAs that did not vote for Obama if polls are to be believed).

    Obama owes his election to Hillary – and he should get down on his knees and thank her – as his 6 million vote victory was only possible because she got 14 million of her 18 million primary voters to vote for him. But Obama is a con as a liberal – tax increases on the rich are already “postponed”, as is Universal Health, with Pelosi only permitting the child health bill that almost passed last year to get to the floor this year.

    The leadership of the Democratic Party needs replacement – and only a third party effort will be respected by them such that reform of the Democratic Party will be possible. We elected a sexist conservative con artist that pretended to be a liberal (heck, 70+% of California AA’s voted to take away civil rights from gays – they now control they party). But let’s stop bashing PUMA’s that did not cross over to vote GOP – as we welcome back to the liberal left those PUMAs that did cross over to vote GOP.

Sounds very similar to what happened to Obama’s recently deceased white grandmother (Toot) when she came into contact with a persistent panhandler as told by Obama in his book “Dreams of My Father”. It scared the sh#t out of her. Instead of being concerned for her safety, Obama became pissed off when his grandfather told him that “Toot” was so afraid because the guy was black. He described it roughly as follows: I felt like a fist had been punched in my stomach knocking the life and breath out of me. He was so mad at her he couldn’t see straight. He’s a messed up “you know what”. I’m a black 63 yr old female Hillary supporter. I wish I had been around I would have confronted the as*holes. You see I marched with Dr. King. He taught us that if there is not something you were willing to die for, then you were not living. I would have willingly died to give them a piece of my mind with my protection at the ready.
