A Little Humor * Late Night & Early Bird Open Thread!*

It’s an Open Thread – how was YOUR day?

    That IMAGE IS PERFECT.

    Put that “O-SHIT” on a t-shirt ASAP.

    Freaking hilarious.

  • KathyNeocon

You forgot The One’s playing basketball in a Sarah Palin is a **** t-shirt.

On that I note I donated to NQ, and I’m off to bed. Night all.

    Whee!

All of that was too freakin’ funny – god how I needed a laugh after yesterday and today! Thanks Rev!

  • Geo

I saw this vid. It captures the whole Obama phenomenon. Obots are vacuous morons who find themselves with nothing to do. Obama does not give a rat’s ass about them now.

  • AF catfish

RRRA did your aunt vote for O or not? I’m discovering today lots who voted for O really do have reservations about him.

  • AF catfish

Great video! Oh the Onion gets it!

  • http://www.hillaryorbust.com Hillary or Bust

I’m absolutely certain that it’s only a small percentage of Obama’s voters who are actually rabid supporters. Most who voted for Obama are soft supporters – people who are sick of Bush and willing to give Obama a try.

These are the ones who will be ready to jump ship en masse if Obama does not deliver.

Newsweek (Meacham and Evans) just said on Charlie Rose
“there is a slightly creepy cult of personality around this guy” – people they’ve been dying to say this for months!

Meacham said “he’s always in control – you can’t get at him, which is unusual for a guy who’s written two memoirs.”

  • John Smith

I am not sure what they expect him to deliver on. The stuff that he was talking about is next to impossible to implement in this economy. What are they going to do borrow and other 5 trillion? This whole thing is really turning into some type of Monopoly game from the Twilight Zone.

  • Ani

    RRRA,

Fabulous. I really needed a good laugh after yesterday.

For all our sakes…I sincerely hope his supporters will not soon be crying in their beer when they discover he cannot deliver on all this pie in the sky stuff.

Why oh why didn’t more people vote for reality.

  • John Smith

Well that might have been unusual if he actually wrote them.

  • John Smith

They might also realize that they should have not taken so much pleasure int the economic meltdown that was going on.

  • mkm125

OMG–that is the funniest thing I’ve seen in weeks (except for the woman who is going to quit her job b/c Obama is going to pay her mortgage and car payments)! Thanks for the laugh-!

  • John Smith

McCain screwed him self for not listening to Gingrich on the bailout. He should not have gone along with it. He should have said that if Wall Street melts down then it melts down It is not the governments job to bail the banks out after they have then 100 of billions in profit and now want to stick the people with the bill. All this government intervention is doing is prolonging the inevitable.

  • Mary Pat

How can Obama deliver? He has set the bar so high for himself that he will disappoint everybody to some degree. Many people are saying (hoping?) he will govern as a centrist, which will royally tick off the Kos, Huffington and Move On lefties. And if he governs as the far-left radical he is, he will alienate the 78% of the country which describes itself as “not liberal.”

Barry was too cute by half. He got elected by being all things to all people. Have the oceans stopped rising yet? Is the planet now healing? C’mon, it’s been hours since the big love-in at Grant Park. What’s the hold up?

He is destined to fail. Couldn’t happen to a more deserving empty suit. Anybody know where I can get an “Impeach Obama” bumper sticker?

  • AF catfish

OMG Jake Tapper on Charlie Rose just admitted that Obama is “cocky” at times. The campaign aides hate it when they use the word “cocky” but “he is cocky. He doesn’t understand why we ask all these annoying questions.”

I think these constricted reporters are finally allowed to start telling the truth. At least somewhat.

  • http://www.cafepress.com/pumapride John House

Personally, I can lay blame on the Republicans who did not get off their asses and get behind McPalin because the Obamatronic Army sought to make Palin look like a “stupid c*nt”.

There were MANY Republicans in communities that I am in that I WARNED about Obama. I told them that Obama and his minions bullied and cheated their way through the caucuses to destroy Hillary and that the Obamatronic Army Ground Game was disgusting with its tactics, but the Republicans just shrugged and said they weren’t thrilled with Mac OR his choice for VP.

How could anyone NOT get thrilled over Big Mac or the historic ticket he produced? SO Mac isn’t Bush–and even BETTER reason to get behind him and fight against the Obamatrons. But alas, it was as if the Republicans were the small army behind General Custer.

    It SUCKED.

So…I can only blame those less-than-enthused Republicans–who, BTW, are now whining about Obama’s victory–because they didn’t heed the PUMA warning. PUMAs needed them as much as they needed PUMAs, but they didn’t turn up to help. So much for team efforts.

  • johninca

So…I can only blame those less-than-enthused Republicans–who, BTW, are now whining about Obama’s victory…

Really. Give them my regards when the nation is lined up before an Obammunist firing squad. I can’t think of anyone who in four years will have a greater right to sing How Do You Like Me Now? than John McCain.

It is very hard to fight a fight when the guy who suppose to back you up is asleep.

  • AF catfish

Get a clue. McCain could have moved mountains, the media had this wave going that if McCain demonstrated leadership he was being “erratic.” If Barry was comatose he was “calm in the storm.”

  • AF catfish

The Repubs could have so many new members right now if they weren’t so beholden to evangelical creationists. If there were a Frontier Republican party, one that emphasized responsibility, outdoorsy toughness that includes hunting, conservation, self-reliance and restrained government, I would sign up in a flash.

The Democrats are infected with these Utiopianist wimps who want to drive their cars and eat their meat with no guns, no shooting of animals, and no drilling and no wars.

Also we could have gotten so many more votes if people thought Palin would not roll back their reproductive rights. I know she won’t do this.

  • Touchet

This will be his undoing. He will at some point have to define his positions and the course of his presidency. He is damned if he does or he doesn’t. Why? Because during the primary he was a blank slate for everyone to put their own hopes on. Now, we get to see the real obama.

  • http://www.cafepress.com/pumapride John House

Yep, that’s the kind of attitude I’m talking about.

  • http://www.cafepress.com/pumapride John House

So anyone catch South Park last night (Wed.)? It was friggin’ hilarious, especially the way they portrayed Sarah Palin as “faking” her charming accent because she was in fact a British-accented super-ninja-like diamond thief (along with the Obamas and the McCains) a la Ocean’s 11. LOL! It was great.

  • jbjd

That’s the point. Too much focus on BO; not enough on everyone else around him. This is why he scares me; because his supporters will do anything for him (or through him).

  • Brian

“9:30 AM – Professor Rashid Khaldi panel discussion on why Israel should be blown off the planet

How funny Reverend Amy! No racists at No Quarter of course. Have you even read Rashid Khaldi’s work? I doubt it. Contrary to how the right wing has portrayed him he is a serious scholar and not the anti-semite people like you have tried to paint him.

You people are even more pathetic now that you lost.

  • NetherLands

A bit little too late. Though IMO we should compile all the lamments about ‘death of journalism’ etc. in a long vid like the primary fraud. Don’t forget the dates, it will show how hypocrtical they are.
Then again, this race was a lot about race, looking at the articles etc. across the world the 1st reaction was “1st black POTUS! Whee!”

  • tillthen

What a great way to start my day.

    A perfect image, indeed!

Why should it be so? I guess because it tells me that I’m not alone in my desperation and concern for my country; Thank you!!

  • ame

What’s sad about this election is the fact that the mainstream media will most likely stiffle any real criticism of an Obama administration. “History” will trump any examination of Obama’s decision making. Also, I don’t believe Obama will be accessible to the media unless he’s being interviewed by a fan like Chris Matthews who will feel the need to throw him softballs. Judging from the behavior I witnessed during the campaign, Obama will most likely be only inclusive to those in the media who throw softball questions. Also, the “fairness doctrine” is back on the table now that the Democratic party controls everything. Watch out talk radio.

Freedom of speech slipping away? We shall see.

  • ame

I’m done with the mainstream media. MSNBC is now the Obama network and talk radio is a target for the Democratic party. The “fairness doctrine” is in play which is a way to stiffle descending voices.

  • SJ

That is getting kind of old now, don’t you think??

  • http://clogsville.wordpress.com NetherLands

I concur, a lot of talk on the conservative blogs is/was about McCain not being conservative enough, and Bush being a fraud too for spending so much (as if ousting Saddam would really be cheap after the USA failed to do so in the First Gulf War. Yes I blame the USA for that. Go flame me if you want).
If I read the numbers right a lot people didn’t vote for either candidate, and esp. the turnout in favor for McCain was lower than one would expect based on 2004.

They really think there will be a ‘grand rise of conservatism’ after BO mucks up even more. I really think that will not happen as the population-trend is just not there, and with the Third World-election process now firmly entrenched in the USA, the re-introduction of the ‘fairness doctrine’ & talks about ‘no hate-speech’-laws (which at least over here in Europe are pretty much one-sloped in their application) looming, and the thuggish behaviour against dissenting opinions in the election, I believe you can kiss fair elections (which basically are a constant process, just increasing in intensity every odd year) and any strategy solely based on that good-bye. That is why the whole ACORN, campaign financing, double registration etc. mess needs to be sorted out ASAP even now the election has passed.

Besides being outspent etc. (Obama bought the Presidency ), the one problem the McCain campaign had (and probably the HRC campaign, though I have followed it less because, bluntly put, primaries are basically elaborate club-meetings) was the lack of an apparent constant narrative; no matter how outre (Obama’s gonna heal the world, Mac= Bush, only the economy matters: ‘Erst kommt das Fressen, dann die Moral’) Obama did, and he sticked to it. Personally I’d have opted for ‘fight for liberty’ as soon as BO voted in favor of FISA (‘Mac voted for FISA”So did, you rogue’)& would allow for showing why the whole Wright etc. menagerie matters (another failing IMO).

    Just my two cents :)

  • SJ

I am so sick and tired now of hearing what a historic occasion this was, and how proud black are of this country.

I really wonder if Obama did not get elected, Mc Cain won what would be the news from all these black leaders? Would they be going on the media and saying McCain won fair and square lets work together now?

Would they be proud that an AA became the nominee and had almost made it, what would of been the reaction. It is just disgusting to see all these black leaders coming on the media and saying how proud of America they are now so what happen this country never made them proud before?

  • ame

Exactly. As Gingrich himself said, quote….”the fix is in.” Gingrich said this a couple of weeks ago, he was referring to the mainstream media.

  • http://rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

Oh, I don’t think so, from other things she has said and articles she has sent me.

I am amazed that some people are admitting that already. AOL has an article this morning that people are so excited an Obama presidency – you know, all those people who never listened to a word he really said or cared abt all of his associates, or his thin resume…Ahem.

  • DAB

This video made my day! Dare I send this to my Obama-sotted adult children? Perhaps not… It’s way too soon…..

  • DAB

Oops! I guess that should have been “besotted”.

  • Elizabeth

Jack Tapper I’m not surprised. One reporter who criticizes Obama routinely, taking seriously the role as honest broker throughout this whole sordid mess.

And the skin color novelty will doubtless eventually wear thin. Particularly if this country gets into crisis mode or seems elementally threatened in some way. Reporters will revert to their natural skepticism and citizen outrage will continue to grow.

It’s just getting to that point of true race neutrality that’s going to take mighty fortitude…

  • Objective Analysis

Guys, history is repeating itself. Bush won by fraud and after 9/11, the Republicans were in power with Bush and stifled any Democratic dissension.

Now, the Obamathugs and Reid, Pelosi are in power with the mess they have created.

The only hope we have is to stop the fraud once and for all is Berg v. Obama et al.

S.Ct. has given Obama until 12/1/08 to respond to the lawsuit about questions regarding his natural born citizenship status.

Right now, evil might be on the throne, but eventually God will be in the midst and prevail.

  • DAB

NOW he says this! Newsweek has been so in the tank for Obama — that has been even creepier than That One.

Guess they’re already tired of kissing his keister. Too little, too late guys!

  • DAB

I’m sure that the MSM will now beat their chests and confess how they’ve been biased — but you know they just couldn’t help themselves. These guys do it over and over again and never learn!

Since apparently 70% of the populace seemed to realize that the media wanted BO to win, youda thunk more of them would have been a little peeved and voted for the other guy. Go figure.

  • ame

I can appreciate the fact that the AA community is proud of Barack Obama’s historic win; they had a lot of emotion invested in this election. In my opinion, there is a bright side of the election outcome; for the most part, life will go on as usual. If Obama had lost, I have no doubt that there would have been riots in cities across America.

My biggest concern in reference to the Obama win, is the issue of freedom of speech or lack thereof. I have no doubt that there will be an effort by Obama supporters, the mainstream media and Obama insiders to suppress decending voices from speaking against an Obama adminstration. The “race card” and the “history in the making card” will be played continuously throughout Obama’s adminstration…It’s already been played time and time again. Why change a working strategy now?

  • DAB

Actually I meant the above post to be about others than Tapper. I agree that Jake was one of the few out there that were actually objective and I do like him a lot.

  • DAB

They’ll probably turn on him just like they did on Tommy in the Who’s rock opera. The only difference is that Tommy was the real deal and BO is only a pathetic imitation.

  • Judy L. NC

Amy, you hit Brian’s last nerve. Bwahahaha! Pathetic guy has lost his sense of humor.

  • DAB

Remember when McCain said that he wanted to convene a commission to find out what went wrong, he was soundly ridiculed? The next day I saw businessman Mort Zukerman say on TV that this was exactly what needed to be done because it was such a complex problem.

Then when McCain immediately realized how critical the meltdown situation was and suspended his campaign to go back to Washington, that was dismissively labeled as a “campaign gimmick”.

Obama did nothing, said nothing, and offered nothing and was portrayed as The Wise One ala Chaunchey Gardener in the movie, “Being There”.

I agree that the game was set against both Hillary and McCain from the beginning. They wanted “you know who” and they wanted him bad and nothing would stop them. Now that they actually have him, let’s see what they’re gonna do with him. Looks like some at least are already experiencing a bit of a hangover and buyer’s remorse and we’re all going to suffer for it. Nice job guys!

  • tillthen

I sense the various ‘undergrounds’ for restoring and maintaining our freedoms are beginning to coalesce.

  • Judy L. NC

    Exactly, ame.

The topic on the local commuter talk radio station this a.m.: Where will the lines be drawn between criticizing the president and hate crime? TBD, I guess.

  • ame

It’s a done deal, I don’t believe that anyone will be able to stop the suppression of information now. If you think it was tough to find out anything about Obama prior to his election win, I do believe accessiblity will be just about impossible. In my opinion, Phil Berg has a valid lawsuit but unfortunately, power trumps democracy. The word “Democracy” sounds nice but rights are really for the rich and powerful regardless of party. In reference to Bush, Obama and the media; yes I do see a pattern but I think Bush is a lightweight compared to Obama when it comes to media control.

  • Elinor

That episode was great! Poked fun at supporters on both sides. I loved it when the McCain supporter kept stabbing himself in the head because a drunken Randy was singing an Obama song. Matt and Trey always have a unique view.

  • Elinor

For clarification, I supported McCain and am not mocking McCain supporters. The scene was funny because the McCain supporter kept stabbing himself because he would rather kill himself than hear another inane Obama song. I can relate.

  • ame

This “underground” certainly won’t include the youth of America. For the most part, they are extremely happy with the representation of the media. For example, Keith Olbermann is a big hit with the youth of America and in my opinion, he represents everyting that is wrong with the media.

  • Andy

    RRR Amy:

This is brillian; the “O shit” is hilarious and so is the schedule-albeit in a more scary way–.

    Question:

11:30 AM – Tony Rezko live via sattelite from Joliette Federal Prison “How to make a killing as a Slumlord”

Maybe “killing” should be “living” ? Seems more effective .

Cheers and THANK YOU for the laugh: no other way to survive this sane.

  • Andy

Ah Brain: you obviously do not get it do you? Go back to the echo chamber you came from; the nut ones where the likes of Wright, Ayres and Khalidi are common place. I am sure your friends are just likle these three lunatics.

  • http://rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

OHMYGOSH, Hillary Or Bust, I am SO gonna use this in a post! With credit to you, of course. That is HILARIOUS!!!!

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Well I for one have been crying for two days about this freaky election and Obama. I will NEVER say the “P” word when referencing that con man. Never. And they can kiss my azz if they try to take away my freedom of speech. Seriously. I have had it with these people. I don’t care what it takes but I will never just sit like a loser and accept what Obama and Pelosi do to us. Never. If they want a fight, I will bring it on. This is America. Like Senator McCain said…”stand up and fight.” If Obama thinks that ALL of us are as STUPID as the people who voted for him. TRY AGAIN. He cheated and lied to get where he is. His criminal activities will hopefully get him dragged out in a PUMA orange jumpsuit, but if not then all we can do is continue to go on the offense and protect our liberties until we can get rid of this nutjob commie. NO WAY do I accept his crap. NEVER. And Nancy Pelosi’s sicko Fairness Doctrine shows what a pig she is. I can’t WAIT until she is gone in 2010.

  • tzada

They are going to start moving us off our farms and out of our houses to give to his conned chosen people. Then they will move those people out and after he is finished using them and move his real kin folks in. America sure is nicer than the Middle East and Kenya isn’t it?

Will Chicago be where the new White House is?

This is a conversation at a local fast food between two black teens and a customer. (The night of the election) They said they were going to paint the White House black or hold a BBQ! Nice people eh?

  • tzada

Yea that other O from Chicago, that big fat O from Chicago…….yea Oprah that one who is now unleashed to talk! Tina Fey will appear on her show. I think we owe it to America to make the Oprah show disappear and SNL with it. If Tina Fey is on 30 Rock lets stone it too. Add in the MSM except FOX and the Drudge Report, The Canadian Free Press and the UK Telegraph.

I dropped by Progressive Insurance because of the owners involvement with Progressives who are joined at the hip with Soros and the New Democratic Party.

  • tzada

He has just selected this Chicago crony to be his Chief of Staff,Emanuel Rahm.

Emanuel Rahm’s father Benjamin was a radical Zionist and a member of the Irgun. This militant Zionist group was treated as a terrorist organization during British rule. They blew up hotels, train stations, and other buildings in Palestine in the 1930s and 40s. Killing innocent British and Palestine citizens.

The late Sherman Skolnick of Chicago called Rahm Emanuel the “Acting Deputy Chief for North America of the Mossad – Israeli Intelligence.
Skolnick went on to say that Emanuel’s father Benjamin had been “part of the Israeli assassin team that murdered Sweden’s Count [Folke] Bernadotte” in 1948. Bernadotte was the envoy of the United Nations in Palestine who sought to find a solution to the UN Partition Plan that gave Palestinian land to Jews from “beyond the pale.”

Was Skolnick correct? Skolnick does not document his claims so checked into his allegations.

“Beyond the pale” would certainly describe where Rahm Emanuel’s family came from. His father’s family came to Palestine from somewhere in the Ukraine in 1917, according to what Dr. Benjamin M. Emanuel told me the other day. Dr. Emanuel now lives in Wilmette, Illinois. The Emanuel family name was Auerbach until 1936. Ben said that his family was from Russia.

They have never studied the history of countries that have experimented with socialism/communism — they are only taught in their universities that America is evil and must be changed.

They (and unfortunately, us) will now have first-hand experience of what that change means.

Those T-shirts will be a hot item next summer when we are all depressed mentally and economically.

This post is the funniest damn thing I have read in a long time. First real belly laugh I have had since watching the depressing election returns. THANKS!!!! I needed that.

If I (and we) can keep our sense of humor all will be OK…….well, eventually at least. A sense of humor will keep us sane during the long hard slog.

  • Rob G in Chicago

    Brian:

And Bill Ayers is a serious scholar as well, its just that he likes to stomp flags and build bombs and blow up government buildings and the homes of judges in his spare time. You know, Hitler liked to paint, and fancied himself to be an artist. Sorry, no matter how serious a scholar, Khalidi was still a member of and spokesman for a terrorist organization (as designated by our government, sorry, they apparently neglected to ask your permission or for your opinion first) who repeatedly advocated bombing of civilian targets in Israel on the thoery that military service is compulsory in Israel, so there are no civilians, but no one should dare question such a “serious scholar” on that rationale.

AMEN!!! I told this EXACT same thing to my husband on election night (between sobs). BRAVO TO YOU! I have a suspicion that the majority of the 48% that voted for McCain feels the same. At least I “hope” so.

  • hootnannie

I heard that amazon sales of Bobo’s books are soaring. Why in hell didn’t people read them before the election? The excerpts Corsi has in HIS book might easily have been enough to clue a lot of people in to the real Obama!

  • DancingOpossum

Rob G, our government has designated lots of groups as “terrorist organizations,” often for purely political purposes. And Israel’s actions against the Palestinians are recognized as atrocities by every civilized country except ours.

You say we shouldn’t question our government. These are the same people who told you Saddam had WMDs and Iraqis were behind the 9/11 attacks. How’d that blind trust work out for you?

I yield to nobody in my dislike of BO and all he stands for, but attacking Khalidi as a terrorist is not just racist, it’s stupid.

  • Steve

I looked at that and made some changes to it
