Who do YOU think should get these jobs in the Obama administration?

BELOW is a list of open positions that Larry Johnson sent me last night. He wants YOUR ideas and feedback on who Obama should appoint to these key administration positions.

First, here’s a bit of backdrop news:

Here’s a Fox News backgrounder from Brit Hume:

NOW, DEAR READERS, Larry Johnson wants to know who YOU think should fill these jobs:

___________________________________

National Security Council Advisor

___________________________________

Secretary of State

___________________________________

Attorney General

___________________________________

Secretary of Defense

___________________________________

Secretary of the Treasury

___________________________________

Head of Homeland Security

___________________________________

Head of the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency)

___________________________________

___________________________________

Director, FBI (Federal Bureau of Investigation)

___________________________________

Appointees to the U.S. Supreme Court

___________________________________

ADDITIONALLY, Larry got a list of suggestions from a friend who shall remain nameless. Here are the names of those that Larry’s friend mentioned:

Homeland Security: James Lee Witt or Former Deputy Attorney General James Comey

FEMA keep the current head.

AG: Former Deputy Attorney General James Comey, Patrick Fitzgerald or David C. Iglesias

U.S. Attorney Generals: David C. Iglesias

Hire back all the good U.S. Attorney Generals fired by Bush.

FBI: John McKay or Lt. Cmdr. Charles Swift

EPA: Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

Treasury: Paul Krugman

Defense: Gates, then Max Cleland

Supreme Court Justices: Lt. Cmdr. Charles Swift or David C. Iglesias, Jonathan Turley, and Best Female Lawyer or Justice.

The attorneys know how to get the criminals since they had the evidence and are true to the law.

CLEARLY, WE LEFT OUT SOME JOBS. FEEL FREE to fill in the blanks! But these were the jobs that most interest Larry, because of his career.

  • Ani

Homeland Security — James Lee Witt James Lee Witt James Lee Witt!!

This guy is brilliant and used to be the head of FEMA under Clinton.

Obama should beg to get him back.

    • Ani

      While I’m at it:

Secy of State — Wes Clark.

      Treasury — Paul Krugman.

EPA – Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

      • BernieO

I’m with you. Wes Clark for State. I heard that John Kerry was lobbying hard for that position.
        NOOOOOOOOOO!!

As for Krugman, I am not sure that I want him to stop being a columnist. He is one of the few good economists that can write in a way that non professionals can understand. That is invaluable.

        • Mary

Krugman has already said he wouldn’t accept it.

          He likes academia better.

          • J.J. (The PUMA)

The selection of Krugman at treasury would be horrible. If he gets the job, there will be further evidence that Obama is an in the closet socialist.

I’d take one of Clinton’s Treasury secretaries, preferably Robert Rubin. We need somebody driven by economic reality rather than leftist ideology.

            • Betty Lou

I think Krugman is one of the most intelligent economists I have read, truly refreshing in this day and age, he is everything, for instance, Larry Summers is not.

So, I have to disagree with you.

      • Docelder

Secy of State — Wes Clark

This one reminds me for some reason of Janet Reno, Fort Hood, tanks and Waco. There should be no excuse for tanks to be used against civilians… no matter how kooky they are.

        • Clara Barton

Wes Clark did not direct tanks to be used at Waco. That’s a well disputed myth. He was commander there, however, the use of the tanks was ordered by Reno/FBI. Clark had nothing to do with that one.

          • Ani

Also ,I don’t know that Wes has a shot because after the Face The Nation debacle, wherein Obama unfairly threw Wes under the bus — three weeks later, after it had all blown over, John Kerry, aka, Lurch saw fit to bring it up again on one of the other Sunday Morning shows — and throw Wes under the bus again — since Kerry wants State, now you see why he did it.

            Kerry is a jealous turd.

    • BJ

Witt was a great Fema leader but do we know of any qualifications he has for homeland security?

this position needs to be filled by someone high on the experience list of national security.. his party affiliation shouldn’t matter.

      • Ani

He has a company — James Lee Witt and Associates, Wes Clark is Vice Chairman by the way — and that is what they do — security and emergency preparedness — here and around the world.

  • Galt’s Voodoo Doll Emporium

G: Former Deputy Attorney General James Comey, Patrick Fitzgerald or David C. Iglesias

Wow that’s odd. I thought Fitzy was still investigating the Rezko Manor deal?

    • Doc99

Yes … and I think Fitzgerald is on the endangered species list.

    • Typewriterstreaming

Good Lord Larry, for this country’s sake leave Fitzgerald doing what he does well, snaking out Chicago. Obama is in the bottom of that toilet.
But you already know Obama is probably going to promote Fitzy… sadly.

      • Kal

        or fire.

        get real!

        • Betty Lou

          Fire or promote him?

          Maybe.

Either way, their (RICO) problems will not end.

I’m always amazed by those who fail to grasp this rather obvious implication, even Cheney’s White House left Fitz alone.

The Chicago people aren’t really smart, IMO.

    • J.J. (The PUMA)

Patrick Fitzgerald needs to stay right where he is so that he can prosecute all of the people that Tony Rezko is ratting out.

  • Patrick Henry

LARRY JOHNSON for ANY of the INTEL Head Jobs..

    Susan for Sec of State

    • J.J. (The PUMA)

Larry Johnson would not fit in. He would want to work for our side.

  • Mark

Larry should be CIA Director. His intelligence on the whitely tape was spot on.

    • Galt’s Voodoo Doll Emporium

“Whitey tape moron” troll spill in isle 4!

    • Betty Lou

Well, it sure seems to have trolled the Obama crew.

      hehehehe

    • Touchet

Do you think Obama will give you an autographed picture if you put in enough internet hours?

      • Betty Lou

Are they angling for jobs, too?

You mean they don’t do it for love of country?

        • tzada

They better be careful, his get out the vote people didn’t get paid or paid enough. ;)

I’d be happy with Eugene Volokh’s getting the first open Supreme Court Justice position. A pity Rubin just turned down Sec Treas. That would have restored the confidence of a shaky market.

      • witness08

Maybe it’s not too late. Remember he’s not sworn in until January. If Obama is disqualified would that mean Joe Biden becomes President?

Is that Limbaugh’s voice? If it is, guess I’ll have start listening to him some day. Never did, never thought I would, but had to emphatically agree with the narrator of this video.

    Too funny.

The liberal-whacko-sphere is deep in to Operation Ignore Emanuel For CofS.

  • Typewriterstreaming

How can I work on this list when I feel Obama should resign?

    • Galt’s Voodoo Doll Emporium

      Don’t. I am not.

      • tzada

Me either. He will never be my president. He would not choose someone remotely fit or someone we, lowly trailer trash, typical we’s would suggest. May he and his have an interesting life.

    • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

Hey, Typewriterstreaming…I feel the same way, but I don’t think that’s gonna happen. In the meantime, I think we must continue to watch his every move and to discuss the current political goings-on so that we are on top of things.

One outcome of this election cycle for me has been a renewed interest in politics. I will NEVER be uninformed or not participate every again.

      • Typewriterstreaming

WAS – you’re absolutely right and – we now know we get true dope from the MSM.

    • The BHORM (The Barack Hussein Obama Resistance Movement)

BINGO! Who the hell cares who Obama picks. It will mostly be corrupt Chicago thugs and Clinton era retreads and hacks.

      • notrees

No Clintons. They are a threat to his continuity in the oval office.

        • Docelder

his continuity in the oval office

Like he has any intention of ever stepping down? People have no idea what they have done… yet.

Haahhaaha! You are so funny, Type~

Geez, how come we haven’t heard a word about Patti Solis Doyle yet?

She was hired months ago to be the VP’s Chief of Staff many, many months ago….speaking of jobs.

      Is she or isn’t she?

      • Typewriterstreaming

I felt Patty Solis Doyle was a traitor while she was working for Hillary. Something went terribly wrong beyond the surface and I smell a lingering Solis Doyle odor.

        • tzada

I think so too type. Have you seen todays Drudge? Reid now is trying to force Lieberman out as committee head. So total control is what they have in mind? Surprise Surprise…. Karma is a bitch though.

Reid, in a sternly worded statement after the 45-minute meeting, said no official decisions have been made. But an aide to the Nevada Democrat said Reid was leaning toward removing Lieberman as chairman of the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. The aide spoke on condition of anonymity because the discussions were confidential.

“While I understand that Sen. Lieberman has voted with Democrats a majority of the time, his comments and actions have raised serious concerns among many in our caucus,” Reid said.

  • notrees

I have no idea. I mean look, I bet everything on the democrats at the beginning and look what we got. I wouldn’t even venture a guesse.

  • Hope is the last to die

Majority of them will be the same as in the Clinton administration. Obama is a follower, not a leader. He’ll just copy & paste his policies like he’s done so far.

    • layercake

I’m not complaining if he hires Clinton hands.
In fact, I’m very, very happy he is.
      He could do much worse.
He has done quite well for himself this election season, by letting the team do its thing.

      • Betty Lou

The Clintons, though, had/have a cohesive political vision, had, and have, an understanding of successful American political theory (this in contrast to Cheney and the neocons, too).

        Obama doesn’t.

And really, I would guess this cabinet was in the bag years ago, this is just more example of Kabuki theatre, made for TV CNN news of the day.

I say Chicago patronage, expect an administration much like Daley’s Chicago, or Balgo’s IL.

Unless the smarter Clinton types prevail, and I don’t really see that happening, yet.

    • Typewriterstreaming

“Majority of them will be the same as in the Clinton administration”
You got that right and announcing that prick Rahm Emanuel really pissed me off. Remember the Primaries and running against everything Clinton?

  • notrees

Obviously Obama is already working on the Mexican vote. If he can get several million of them he will have guaranteed a democratic voting bloc the republicans can not overcome for decades. Essentially assuring Obama a permenent presidency if he so wishes.

    • Typewriterstreaming

The Republicans need the Conservative Christians. Those people, so it is said stayed home. That really is their base – someone posted on another thread the election results – Sarah wasn’t on the top of the ticket and these people felt really dumped on one too many times by McCain. That on top of being pissed at Bush. They feel dumped on by Bush big time. And PUMAS know very well, there are just so many dumps people can take on a people before they turn back on you.

  • John Smith

What worked for Clinton will not work for BO. These are starkly different times.

  • fluffy bunny

The more Clinton admin pros he picks, the better I will feel. For real. I don’t want Obama’s brand of change, since it is actually all about Ayers and Wright.

So if he feels he has to constrain himself, all I can say is THANK GOD.

Sources: Axelrod Obama White House adviser

    CHICAGO, Nov. 6 (UPI) –

David Axelrod, Barack Obama’s top campaign strategist, has accepted the position of senior adviser in the Obama White House, Democratic sources said Thursday.

Obama Communications Director Robert Gibbs has also been named Obama’s White House press secretary, ABC News and Politico reported.

Obama would also like lawyer and confidante Valerie Jarrett, co-chairman of the Obama-Biden transition team, to play a key, yet undetermined role in his White House, ABC News reported.

They will join Rep. Rahm Emanuel, D-Ill., the No. 3 Democrat in the House, who accepted the job of White House chief of staff, Obama officials said Thursday.

        • Betty Lou

I agree, and the White House will run like his campaign, all PR, no workable policy.

          Just like Rove, and Bush.

I just hope the walkway isn’t lined with dogsh*t, sometimes they forget to watch where they step, feelin all secure.

“I just hope the walkway isn’t lined with dogsh*t, sometimes they forget to watch where they step, feelin all secure.”

Frankly, I really hope it is.

            • Betty Lou

Sorry, that’s what I meant, the walkway is always covered with dogsh*t, even for the best, and the purest.

Sometimes, those who work there seem to forget this very pertinent point.

              • NoBama

Obama already started working on his 2012 campaign. He will like to blame everything on Bush for that term too. The economy was already in trouble according to Obama, so Bush again will be blamed in 2012.

                • witness08

Yup, prepping for 2012 in his election speech.
“The road ahead will be long. Our climb will be steep. ***We may not get there in one year or even in one term.*** But, America, I have never been more hopeful than I am tonight that we will get there.”

                • Margaret

      • IronMan

Much like the Texas group that came with Bush and the Arkansas creww that came with Clinton

        • Betty Lou

And the results tell us all, right?

Clinton had his problems, still was highly intelligent, Bush, well, and Obama — it will be his campaign — he seems fated to repeat the same tactics, over and over, again.

And truth be told, it was a mediocre campaign effort, and, without an influx of significant talent, it will be a mediocre, failed presidency, I would venture a guess, at this point, much like Gov Blago, and IL.

It’s a little different than it is in Chicago, or even in the Senate, and ultimately, no one can fix the truth.

    • Docelder

Robert Gibbs has also been named Obama’s White House press secretary

So, when the press asks a hard question… the reply will be in the from of a question? Brilliant.

  • notrees

  • fluffy bunny

He asked Rubin but Rubin turned him down? For real?

If Obama really fills his cabinet with Clinton admin folks, well, THANK GOD. Otherwise it’s going to be anti-American loons and race baiters.

    The more Clintonians, the better.

    • Typewriterstreaming

Uh, oh. Rubin could well turn up as a floater.

    • Chicago Joe

Just more proof that Obama is a nobody with no record. Steal Duval’s words, Hillary’s health plan, Bill’s staff.

  • fluffy bunny

I’m a woman with advanced degrees in science, and I am convinced Larry Summers got a bad rap on the sexism accusation. What he said wasn’t misogynist at all, and could have started an interesting discussion.

I like Summers and think he would be a good choice for many cabinet posts.

    • Betty Lou

I love your name, I really do.

Actually, it was misogynist in content, he immediately assumed the problem was a difference in spatial skills due to gender, and certainly we don’t know near enough to make that sort of assessment — ie, both the verbal and the mathematical represent abstract concepts through symbols, one not superior to the other, in fact some would argue verbal expression reflects a more complex, detailed abstract, one harder to conceptualize, and define.

That should have been Summer’s first thought, it wasn’t.

And as an academic, he should have known this, should have known to question his bias, society’s bias, first –even exempting deliberate, or clumsy, sexist intent, this has to do with his abilities to understand, or account for his own bias, particularly as the leader of the nation’s premier university, this is not acceptable.

We dont need any more intellectual pretension in Washington, we have enough, especially as exemplified by Cheney’s supply side, neocon crew — ie, how would Summer evaluate economics when he’s already exhibited a flawed thinking process? ; )>

Was he in fact influenced by the flavor of the day, (that being the neocon kook line of thought and as someone who should know better,(President of Harvard) why didn’t he ask himself if he was simply reiterating the cultural zeitgeist, as opposed to seeking fundamental truths?

Anyway you cut it, he revealed a flaw in his logic, it would be the same as my assuming, say, off the top of my head, men in military IT aren’t qualified, under any circumstances, to lead a war, as they fail to understand the greater abstracts the written word denotes, so necessary to understanding concepts beyond simple, direct computer code.

      That would be garbage.

      • Kal

Thank you Betty Lou. I totally agree. Summers would be a joke in this or any position in the government, and doesn’t BO care at all about how women are looking at any of this?

        • Betty Lou

That was his campaign tactic, but again, disenfranchising any minority will lead to failure, and those democratic “men” who insist on using any exclusionary tactic don’t understand political theory.

For many reasons, their short terms gain is an illusion, for many reasons, they’ve already sown the seeds of their loss.

American political theory is successful because it is inclusive, in part to think it can be circumvented by encouraging cultural divisions is to not understand WHY it was always successful over all comers, so to speak.

Conquer and divide is the mother of all Pillsbury doughboy tactics, your opponents will get ya somewhere else, even if they stay passive, you never ever create a diversion, much less a victory. And then your enemy can determine your actions.

Guys like Obama don’t get it, really don’t get it, and most likely never will.

They remind me of cheap paper plates — they can’t hold ANY food, bottom line.

It didn’t work for Rove, they failed to understand why, they fail to understand WHY American political theory works, and HOW it counters their silly little Atwater type tactics, they do not understand the American government, or democracy. Cause all the presidency is is well managed PR, right?

And when they fail to frighten, as I believe is their intention, they become somebody else’s dog, they are unable to counter when others don’t buy their crap.

And meanwhile, the economy is broken, and two wars are lost, and no amount of PR can cover the mess, and the corruption they profit from has destroyed their base.

And they can’t grasp it, they really can’t grasp it, intellectually.

REAL American men, those who say, can run a government, and a war, don’t denigrate women, because to do so is to lose, for many reasons, it’s indicative of dull dull boys who don’t ever succeed, always dancing, unknowingly, to someone else’s tune.

    • J.J. (The PUMA)

Pick Larry Summers, PLEASE. Then give him and Joe Biden a talk show where they can talk about racial preferences, Indian Seven Eleven employees, women’s intelligence and the latest international challenge to our weak and inexperienced president.

    • somerset

I am a female physician M.D., graduate of an American medical school, triple board certified. When Mr. Summers graduates from medical school and achieves what many women in science have achieved, he can give lectures on women’s lower brain capacity. In the mean time, he can bite me and all women who are doctors and vets and engineers. Of all the possible candidates naturally nobama had to choose a recognized misogynist, the apparently never-ending put-down of women. That was a well-aimed dagger.

      • Ani

Somerset, thank you so much for your post — this will be the misogynist administration — Obama has to keep taking revenge on Hillary, Palin and all women who made him look bad — this is also probably passive aggressive against the mom who abandoned him and the strong women in his life now.

Women can be real proud of themselves for voting for this guy.

  • noproblama

I agree he’ll go safe, but without wonks like the Clintons making the final decisions, we’ll have the same disarray that we’ve had in the House and Senate.

    • Typewriterstreaming

He has to go without Wonks. He wouldn’t have a clue as to what they are talking about.

  • catherine

For Secretary of State either Wesley Clark or Hillary Clinton.

    • John Smith

Don’t worry you will be disappointed with most of his picks. Do you really think this guy is going to do anything that Clinton did? This guy is Bush III and will do everything to not follow Clinton just as Bush did not want to follow his father.

      • lark

But Bush regretfully appointed old men to shore up his insecurities. That precipitated two wars.

Obama is so flipping he will be appointing very young people with little of no experience for each post. That will give him much comfort.

    Secretary of Defense–John Sidney McCain

    Director of Homeland Security–Joseph Lieberman

    • Typewriterstreaming

McCain, Lieberman and Clinton couldn’t get hired by Obama to clean out the toilets in the WH.

      • fluffy bunny

I know. But he asked who I would prefer, right?

And McCain was very kind to Obama, especially in that stupid second debate. That whole thing he was talking like he was trying to teach Obama about stuff, not debate him.

It was weird….but if Obama offered him the post, McCain would accept. Doing so would really help military families over our huge anxiety.

        • lark

You make too much sense, but Obama is not country first, he is “hope you work” just “change everything you believe needs change” “call me if you need me” but don’t bother me with your schedule, I still have not buried my grandmother, okay.

          • J.J. (The PUMA)

They can’t bury grandma. They are still trying to figure out why her autopsy showed that she inhaled a large quantity of cotton fibers that came from her pillow.

Take it from a gay guy. This guy is gay. hmmm….

    • Northwest rain

Sometimes gay guys had behind a wife and children.

I once dated a guy who’s father was gay. But first the father had 12 kids by his wife. Eventually after 12 kids the father abandons his wife for his gay lover.

My gay friends tell me that there are a whole lot of married (in the closet gays) because these men make passes at my gay friends. They think that the numbers of still in the closet gays must be vast.

Could it be that the most vocal anti-gay bigots are themselves gay and they think that by pointing the finger and condemning gays that that turns the suspicion away?

      • Kal

Absolutely. And those who want to go into politics are willing to take the risks, because it is still really not ok to be an out queer running for high office.

  • Bud White

    Ani, I like your list:

Secy of State — Wes Clark.

    Treasury — Paul Krugman.

EPA – Robert F. Kennedy Jr.

    • J.J. (The PUMA)

Yes, by all means, Bobby Kennedy Jr. As an inducement to get him to join the cabinet, offer him an autographed copy of William Ayer’s first book. (Great dedication page).

I’d bet a ton of money that’s Ayers little inside joke. The man is a sick bastard. Imagine if RFK Jr. is stupid enough to take the offer.

  • lark

His appointments will show mostly his radical tendencies towards anarchism. Anti-establishments for each establishment. His appointments would seek to subvert the order of each agency.

    • rw

      that’s an insult to anarchism.

  • bemused

Since his choices so far have been counter to sense or downright illegal, I think you guys are making lists of the very people he would be sure to shun.

    • SeeNoEvil

      hey bemused,

like you, I am also bemused, by this undertaking.

what’s the point? I am having trouble being serious and it’s hard not to be sarcastic. I guess I’ll just drop out of this conversation.

      ~ papoose

    • Clara Barton

Well most of them will have to be dug out from under bus. Clark for sure. They let Hill and Bill out to campaign. Gee, wonder if Joe is under there?

  • fluffy bunny

    Secretary of State–Condoleeza Rice

it would send a strong message to Russia that Obama’s not gonna take their crap.

  • SeeNoEvil

    Director of National Intelligence -

Is that an oxyMORON or a real position?

If so, how about Barak Obama since he’s so good at talking out of both sides of his mouth and is so wordly. He can switch seats in the same conversation and no one would even notice.

  • MG

How come I get the feeling he is covering his true self by hiding behind names that will distract everyone. I happen to know an x classmate that went to law school with him. He says that the O often brought Louis Farakhan to the school and would be paling around with him like Father and Son. He describes O as a very angry man. He laugh at the idea that everyone has of him being calm and smart.
Now the pretty speeches are over and it’s time to produce….or hide behind some else in the O’s case.

    • Northwest rain

Thank you for this bit of information.

Yes O is still a very angry man (use of the finger toward Clinton and McCain–sick person).

Someone reported that Ayers, Farrakhan and Obama all showed up at the voting poll at eh same time.

How’s that for a bit of irony.

My god what has the DLC done to America (with the help of the radical right who refused to vote for McCain)????

  • bayareavoter

Well. Let’s start with his first pick. I hope the Obots weren’t really thinking things would change

Isn’t this just ironic? I mean Hillary was no good because she voted for the war. But the Obots never cared that Joe the Biden voted for the war and wanted to divide Iraq into 3 states no matter what the Iraqi people wanted (a true colonialist at heart) and now Rahm Emanuel (from the terrible Clinton era) who championed the Iraq war gets picked too!:

    I love this:

A day after being elected president and acknowledging “the worst financial crisis in a century,” Barack Obama asked one of the biggest recipients of Wall Street campaign contributions to be his chief of staff. Rep. Rahm Emanuel, the Illinois congressman who was an aide in the Clinton White House, was the top House recipient in the 2008 election cycle of contributions from hedge funds, private equity firms and the larger securities/investment industry–not the most popular of industries in the current economy. Since being elected to Congress in 2002, after working as an investment banker, Emanuel has received more money from individuals and PACs in the securities and investment business than any other industry. ”

And those Newsweek commenters about how creepy Obama was on stage by himself–ya, we saw that a long time ago–they just decided to do their jobs now?

    I’m going fishing with notrees

    • Clara Barton

      What Newsweek comments?

    • BJ

      You are full of crap

all this ignorant horseshit about “hillary voted for the war” .. you’re just another uninformed participant in the clinton-hate machine that has NEVER researched the facts behind hers and many others war vote.. she being one of the few who walked the xrtra mile to talk to the experts in the security and defense dept for their advice on the best road to travel.

some of you look no deeper than the dirt under your finger nails for a little spin and talking points without looking deeper.

..and by the way, Rahm Emanuel was his best pick for the job right now.. it is a grinding job and none of them hold onto it for very long anyway but he was the right guy for the job at the moment.

fyi, some repub i’ve never seen before, a senator i believe was on msnbc today and even said from the point of view of the dems in charge, that Rahm was a good choice because he can get things done.

      • BJ

I apologize for the personal attack.. you aren’t full of crap, just your thought process on accusing Hillary for something was uncalled for.

I’m still pissed as hell at this election process as much as anyone.

I didn’t want McCain, he’s too damn old and kissed Bush’s ass. For that I lost all respect for the man of which I had plenty for many yrs.

My candidate was Hillary first then Biden or anyone, anyone other than Obambi-

        • ritamary

bayareavoter was describing the Obot view that Hillary was unacceptable because she voted for the war. bayareavoter was not advocating that position. Don’t you remember how we heard about Obummer’s courageous Chicago speech against the war (the speech that was not recorded or videotaped). This was supposedly the reason why he was a better candidate than Hillary.

  • Diana L. C.

I don’t want to reward thieves by helping them out. Let Obama sink or swim without our help.

I still just cannot condone the way he got where he is. But he better be worried, as I think, if he wants to stay in office, he better choose people who will do for him what Bush’s people did for Bush: get people in there who will interpret the Administrative Branch of government to mean basic dictatorship. How else is he going to get the DOJ, the FBI, etc., to drop all the judges, lawyers, etc., who might go ahead with any court cases against him.

  • George Smathers

Chris Mathews for Press Secretary. He already has announced that his job as MSNBC anchor is to promote Obama and make his presidency a success, so that obviates any potential conflict of interest if he decides to hold simultaneously both jobs.

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Yeah, well, you know what? I want to do everything I can to make this thing work, this new presidency work, and I think that –

JOE SCARBOROUGH: Is that your job? You just talked about being a journalist!

MATTHEWS: Yeah, it is my job. My job is to help this country.

SCARBOROUGH: Your job is the make this presidency work?

MATTHEWS: To make this work successfully. This country needs a successful presidency.

Basically it does not matter who gets what job.

    These will be for show.

The real decisions will be made by a Shadow government — the ones who funded this campaign. Obviously a very rich special interest group has an agenda — and Obama has been able to hide his true agenda by screaming RACIST — to shut down any questions.

This is my guess — based on Obama’s refusal to put forth any ORIGINAL proposals — he stole from other candidates, and changed his positions as often as the wind blows.

Basically Obama doesn’t know what the fuck he’s doing or even how the US government works.

    He’s for show.

    • rw

“The real decisions will be made by a Shadow ”

he’s their Baghdad Bob….markets crash, unemployment reaches 9-10%, etc. but Obama will be preaching about hope and change and how historic he is.

      • fluffy bunny

        shudder

    • ziggy

Obama seems to be a highly effective organizer when it comes to running a national presidential campaign. I suspect he knows how the government works and will put together a team with the intention of attacking our problems head-on. He thinks that’s his mission, and he doesn’t like failure. Since the guy has been elected, we ought to give him a fair chance. We can get back to partisan politics once we begin seeing the results.

      • Ted Kennedy’s Swim Coach

        LOL…
You “suspect” he knows how government works…but you have no idea, do you?
        That Hopey/Changey illusion/bs won’t cut it.
We are going to hold him accountable from day one for all of his lies and all of the promises he doesn’t keep.
I can’t wait until he takes office. I will blame anything that goes awry on him.

Boy the next four years will be fun!

      • Margaret

you’re cute. He knows about as much as Mickey Mouse. Maybe Winnie the Pooh should be his press secretary

I will give Obama a fair chance the same way he gave Hillary a fair chance.

i think so too. cheney was there to run things and so emanuel and others will run the show. the corporations and big business. same as usual!

Off Topic but so very interesting (and yes, Obama’s mother was attending school at the University of Washington in September 1961, only weeks after he was allegedly born in Hawaii):

good Snopes thing about the old yellowcake story:

    http://www.snopes.com/politics/war/yellowcake.asp

snopes won’t let me cut and paste?

  • fluffy bunny

Huh. The snopes link post was supposed to support my wish for Colin Powell to be DNI. He got burned bad by crappy intel, some based on reality, some based on nonsense.

I really don’t think he “lied” to the UN about WMD. I think he got crappy intel, even though it was what was also believed by our Euro allies, and had been believed by lots of folks in the Clinton admin too.

    Once bitten, twice shy.

  • tfitz

No to Larry Summers as Secretary of the Treasury. He was pretty much a disaster as President of Harvard, no matter how ‘briilant’ an economist he is claimed to be – though his ego and arrogance matches pretty well with the President elect. Also if Obama is bringing change to Washington, appointing Summers who was Clinton’s Sec. of Treasury is not exactly change.

    • tzada

tfitz is Tommy Christopher’s sock puppet from the Chicago Political Machine at AOL.

He has a good heart towards Tibetans but he doesn’t towards the USA and typical people like us. He along with Tommy did their part to destroy Hillary, Sarah and John and take down the USA.

I have seen his posts quoting words similar to Ayers about “birds were singing” and then he adds and the smell of napalm was in the air.

He may come in here like a lamb but I know who he is and who his friends are.

  • J.J. (The PUMA)

Obama should pick people who helped elect him.

To reward the millions of dead people who voted for him, he should pick Haley Joel (I can see Dead People) Osment.

To reward all of the Hillary supporters who voted for him anyway, he should appoint …. it doesn’t matter, any MAN will do.

To reward all of the black Republican generals who endorsed Obama, but not because he was black…..Oh, never mind. I guess there weren’t any.

    • Ted Kennedy’s Swim Coach

      Oh…funny….gotta pass that one on

  • stodghie

change? not going to happen! obama is chained to china, the corporations and the dnc. he will not find helpers who will be loyal followers in the aa political community as a group. individuals yes! many of the aa politicans are some of the best. i have my favorites. but the aa’s are very fickle in my view. they turned on the clintons and that told me a lot about them. loyal? hmmm! when obama doesn’t give them what they think they should get, i don’t expect them to remain loyal. some of the poltiicans like marion barry who continued getting support even with his many problems had close contact over many years in the aa community. not so with obama! sure he lived in chicago and went to rev wright’s church. he was of it but not from it and never in my view a real part of it.

    • tzada

When AA finally find out that he is not a AA but of Arab heritage, maybe then they will turn on him. But once he gets in office it will then be too late.

But he will have used them and their white hatred to destroy and take from whites. They in turn will be destroyed by Chicanos. After all he wants to take over Mexico next, then further south. Watch and see. Whites go first then blacks, then Kenya comes in. Somewhere in the mix will be United Nation troops.

He will have opened up wars in Pakistan and expanded Afghanistan. He will have taken the young men and women in the draft and moved them all over the world. This will get the most able bodied for America defense away from America to further weaken us.

First he will TRY to take our guns…. then he will TRY and take us. Karma is a bitch….and GOD is on our side.

  • Clara Barton

Sec. State – Richard Holbrooke or Wes Clark

Homeland Sec. – I’ll go along with Witt

VA – Cleland (and we really need someone good here)

Treasury – Volker. I like Krugman, but he’s seen as a real partisan and at this juncture, feel we need someone that is generally respected by all to inspire some confidence with the competence.

Have to give more thought to the others.

    • stodghie

clara why do you like volker?

  • Kal

One thing we can be sure of is that there will not be any women in any of these positions unless it is somebody like co-crook Jarret or lightweights who can be counted as ‘female present’ but not bring anything genuine to the job.

BO just does not relate to women except as pawns, barriers, or possessions.

    • educatedwhitewoman

I don’t think that Michelle likes the competition. And, didn’t he say that she is one of the three people (besides his dead mother and grandmother) that he would look to for advice when facing a crisis?

It will be so much fun.

  • Clara Barton

I recall days when Volker was Fed Chief and he seemed to be a reasonable guy who understood monetary policy, things were smooth and I thought he was liked and respected by both sides. I know he’s getting older, but I’m willing to listen to reasons not to consider him too.

Larry. this is difficult stuff. Sec Interior, play it again Bruce Babbit!!! Rep Jane Harmon,, director of National Intel. Ron Paul for DepSec Treasury, Mitt Romney for Sec of Treasury, Sec Defense, really wish Gates would stay but he won’t, James Schesinger is too old, how about Sen Jim Webb? Why should Obama get helpers. He doesn’t need them. Just ask the poll workers he stiffed.

Retain Gates, right now that is the major item of concern.

It’d be great if Gates stayed but he wants to go home. I saw a little spot on tv where he has a watch that counts the days, hours & minutes until January 20th
