That is the headline of this entertaining, and accurate, assessment of Obama’s Ireland visit by James Delingpole, “O’Bama? Ph, Puh-lease!“. Many of us saw his visit there as overblown, but only someone in the UK could pull this off:

Ah Bejaysus and Begorrah! Oi’ll be swearin’ boi the auld shrine to the Vorgin with the shamrocks growin’ round it next to the hill where Cuchullain slew the Great Leprechaun of Kildare on St Patrick’s Day that Barack Seamus O’Toole Flaherty Joyce O’Bama is the most Irish US president that ever set foot on the Emerald Oisle, so he is, so he is.

Except, when he’s in Africa, of course, when he disappears into the dry ice and re-emerges with a grass skirt and a bone through his nose and declares himself to be Mandingo, Prince of the Bloodline of the Bonga People, Drinker of Cattle Urine, Father of A Thousand Warrior Sons, Keeper of King Solomon’s Mines, Barehanded Slayer of Lions, Undaunted Victim of the Evil Colonial British Empire.

[…]

Tony Blair used to do this trick too, his accent mutating from broad Glaswegian to genteel Edinburgh to Mummerset to Estuary to Richard E Grant to Sarf London Grime – often in the course of one Downing Street reception – the better to persuade his target audience that he was their kind of guy. And it is, of course, the hallmark of an unutterable charlatan.

I’ve argued before that Tony Blair and Barack Obama have an awful lot in common. Both are lawyers; both are snake-oil-salesman; both claim to be post-partisan, and Third Way and consensual; both play the acceptable, moderate-seeming public face of a regime chock full of Communists, class warriors, single issue rabble rousers, malcontents, communitarians and eco-loons hell bent on destroying every last vestige of what once made their country great. And both do (or did) the things dodgy political leaders always do when the going gets tough at home and their domestic audience finally wises up to how totally useless they are: they hop on the plane and pose as international statesman instead.

No kidding. Is it any surprise that Obama went abroad given the very, very brief bump in his poll numbers, and the continued Spring of Discontent in this country? I am only surprised he didn’t go to the West Bank after his disastrous speech about Israel.

Perhaps he knew that Netanyahu’s speech to Congress was going to be better received than Obama’s was from the State Department. And that Netanyahu would get more standing ovations than Obama did for his State of the Union address. Ahem. Perhaps that is why he felt compelled to get the hell out of Dodge and to get some of that adoration he thrives on so much…

It is all about the spin, isn’t it? Like the spin the MSM is putting on the special election up in NY State. They are making it sound like the Democrat, Kathy Hochul, won by a landslide, and that it is a HUGE referendum on The Republicans’ position on Medicare.

There are two problems with this logic: 1. Hochul had all of 4% more votes than the Republican, Jane Corwin; and 2. the alleged Tea Party candidate, Jack Davis, siphoned off 9% of the votes. Do the math.

And about Davis, I think it is safe to say that Davis, who has run a number of times as a Democrat in that region, was a spoiler, and a successful one at that.

The major spin here, though, as Dana Perino pointed out, is that The DEMOCRATS cut $500 million to Medicare in the DEMOCRATIC passage of Obamacare. How is it that they are now going to be the ones to save it from those evil Republicans? Good grief.

It is clear, though, that this is how the MSM is going to spin it – it is the primary headline for a number of outlets. Wow.

This kind of hoodwinking and bamboozling seems to be the stock and trade these days, and is certainly a hallmark of Obama’s. Along those lines, I will leave the conclusion to Mr. Delingpole, who sums up Obama’s trip to the UK, and his presidency in general, beautifully:

[snip] Obama can’t stand Britain (his wife likes us even less): he made that clear enough when he sent back Winston Churchill’s bust and dissed our Prime Minister with those dodgy DVDS. He blames us for what happened to his grandfather during Mau Mau. He doesn’t believe in the Special Relationship. Are we honestly supposed to believe in that during the subsequent year in office, Obama has since acquired such wisdom and insight that he suddenly realises how special we are?

Of course he hasn’t. Obama is just doing now what all bullies and losers start doing when they realise how unpopular they are and that everyone is abandoning them. They suck up to anybody and everybody. They whore themselves piteously before enemies they once considered beneath their contempt. Fain will they fill their bellies with husks that swine eat – but which no man will give them: and serve them jolly well right, too!

By all means let us enjoy watching Obama smarm and grovel and ingratiate himself like seome presidential Uriah Heep. But for heaven’s sake let us never give him the benefit of the doubt. He’s a cold fish and would certainly never show any mercy towards us were the roles to be reversed.

Amen to that…

Ha, that’s what I told my husband this morning. The dress is classy; the jewelry is a jumbled mess, and it’s ugly and it detracts from the dress. But oy, that plant placement is quite unfortunate. I laughed out loud. I think they placed her there on purpose. Either that or an enterprising photog did it to her on purpose. 😉

Perhaps with memories of the Biden reporter-in-a-closet incident in their minds, White

to include in reports that they were holding in a garage, the White
House requested that they add this quote from deputy White House press

Winfield House that is furnished with: hot food, Internet connections,

        • kinthenorthwest

Here is one of the pictures..This was when he was campaigning for Raila Odinga.  Isnt this a bit on the illegal side for a US Senator to be capaigning for a government official in another country…or in other words interfering with another countries elections and government.

        • FLDemFem

Yes, it was illegal, and the government of Kenya filed an official protest with the State Department over it. Odinga lost, but then stirred up massive unrest, and murder, and got a coalition going. He is now in power. He is also Obama’s cousin. Nice family, huh?

It is very clear that I did not write that quote. It would have altered the entire article to leave it out, so I left it in. There was much more in there, but easy to just gloss over all of that and latch onto that one, FARCICAL description.

        • Rev. Amy, you are an excellent writer  Trolls don’t really pay attention to much except the title of a blog post and maybe a few points here and there.  Their sole intention is to disrupt the conversation on a thread with their bullshit.  Most of them don’t have the good sense God gave a billy goat, so their reading comprehension skills often leave a lot to be desire.

        • revamyinsc

I might add, the POINT, which the “concern trolls” seem to be missing is that Obama will morph into whatever persona will ingratiate him to whatever group he happens to be with at the time.

          Please try and keep up.

    • AbigailAdams

Did Trump actually make a public statement that it is a fake?  I listened to Corsi’s account of his call with Trump and it’s sounding more and more like The Donald is a ringer for the obama WH.  Built up the groundswell of birthers then out comes this forged document from the WH Trump says it’s all good, nothing to see here and the push toexpose the fraud is over.  Corsi’s description of Trump’s interest in what he, Corsi, is currently doing to expose the forgery(ies) and get to the bottom of this issue sounds more like he is carrying water for obama.  Couple that with Trump’s recent payoff from NBC and his vocal criticism of the field of Republican candidates and it’s sounding very suspicious.  Corsi told Trump that if he, Trump, is really serious about knowing the truth then he should go public with his doubts about the authenticity of the certificate–which according to forensic experts should be extremely easy to do at this point–but Trump is only interested in knowing what Corsi is doing “before” Corsi does it.  Is Trump obama’s mole?  It’s starting to look that way.  Have we all been snookered by The Donald?

I don’t see how to post a vid here and I’m typing blind because the comment box doesn’t scroll the text.  So here’s the youtube vid of his speech.  It’s 47 mins., but he doesn’t waste a single word and he’s truly profound and funny.  I think he should be the opener for all Republican (though he only identifies himself as a conservative), fund raisers and a keynote at their convention.

Why Obama is mum about Harvard
For starters, Obama did not do nearly well enough at his previous stop, Columbia University, to justify admission to Harvard Law.
According to the New York Sun, university spokesman Brian Connolly confirmed that Obama graduated in 1983 with a major in political science but without honors.
One has to wonder, then, why neither he nor wife Michelle emphasized this singular honor during the up-by-the-bootstraps biographical sections of their respective speeches in Denver.
In fact, neither of them so much as mentioned Obama’s time at Harvard, this despite his vulnerability on the executive experience charge. Their silence likely derives from one verifiable fact: Obama’s record at Harvard was no more authentic than John Kerry’s record in Vietnam.

From James Delingpole article that sows found.
      http://blogs.telegraph.co.uk/n
“The truly great black people are not those who play
the race card, as Obama so frequently does, but those who choose to forego the easy path of identity politics and strive after what is true rather than settle for what is expedient.”

Obama has burned out the Race Card so that it is useless even for the most legitimate purposes.

“”The truly great black people are…”

It does not surprise me that Mr. Delingpole fancies himself an expert on who the good black people are.

        • kinthenorthwest

And arturo you are an expert because you did what?
Was your accomplishment helping to further burn our the usage on the Race Card or maybe you have helped out Obama in his many untruths about growing up black in America..

        • armymom

And you are assuming that you are an expert? Trust me, as one, Obama doesn’t freaking come close, in fact, he’s shameful. And a player….nothing more, nothing less, all he likes about the presidency is the perks.

        • arturo_ui

Both of you seem to think I ever claimed I was an “expert” on black people, when obviously I never made any such claim.  Of course I am not.  But Mr. Delingpole clearly thinks he is, and that is all I was pointing out.

      • revamyinsc

For heaven’s sake – it is clear that Delingpole is simply asserting that playing the race card is a cowardly act, used to squelch real conversation and discussion, much the same way some are trying to use it here.

Still shaking my head in amusement and disgust at the “cracker” remark – the church that sponsored me for ordination before I became a UU was 99% African American. The priest who sponsored me was from Liberia. And I tell you what, not one of the people I grew up with EVER used the race card the way Obama does.Delingpole’s point, to put words in his mouth, is that people who are secure in themselves, and who are genuine, have no NEED to play the race card. Conversely,  Obama’s hallmark is to do just that – play the race card at every juncture so at this point, actual racism is discounted as a result. Pitiful. And it is that chameleon character that Delingpole, and many of us, find so distasteful.

And would someone please explain to me why any adult would respond to something said about Oblahblah by saying “but Bush, but Bush?”

What the frak does what George Bush did or didn’t do, is or isn’t have to do with Obama?

Jeebus Crap can’t we get some adult trolls?

    • Daisy Mae

I see Surfered is pulling a classic, “having served with African Americans” to validate his supposedly ‘he’s not a racist creds.’  Pathetic, so passe’.

      • FLDemFem

The claim that “serving with African Americans” means he isn’t racist doesn’t exactly follow logic. I mean, who would be racist to a bunch of well-armed people? If one were racist in a group of African American soldiers, it wouldn’t be surprising if one got killed by friendly fire. So naturally, when in a group of well-armed men, some of whom are African Americans, not being racist is a matter of self-preservation, not proof of one’s non-racism.

    • surfered, What’s it like living on life support, you are actually brain dead !!

    • Geoff C. The Saltine

I want them at my garden party, they hold them tray’s real good. Asshole.

    • gracieux

surfered cut the crap! obama used his “so called father’s” creds plus some things that haven’t been published yet. please you must spike your koolid with the jim jones’ special brand. lol

      • Lana2

And the media had a field day with stories about Bush’s grades and his alcohol use. Obama’s grades and cocaine use…not so much

      • kinthenorthwest

Obama’s daddy’s credits are taking him very farm anymore…Most finally figured out what he was doing in Kenya and now Harvard finally released how Obama Sr was kicked out…

    • FLDemFem

hey stupid, Obama did NOT go to HARVARD. He went to Columbia and then to Harvard LAW School. Big difference. Oh, and he graduated from Columbia  without honors. Just so you know….fool.

    • Surfered, you are the most offensive POS troll I’ve encountered to date, and I’ve encountered quite a number of them.  Don’t come here with that race baiting bullshit of yours.  I’d say that you are the most racist human being, and I use that term loosely, that any of us have ever encountered.  F*ck off!

    • TeakWoodKite

I guess you don’t know who Percy Sutton is sufered?
and as far as serving with “African Americans whose blood is as red as yours”
      a) your a bigot
      b) where is BO’s service registration?
      c) Obama never got anywhere on merit.

    • revamyinsc

“Crackers”? Are you kidding me with that? Good grief – you are getting really desperate with the name calling. I guess the talking points hadn’t come out yet, and you had to go it alone this time around.
Wow. “Crackers.” And you tell ’em, Army Mom!

      • MisterNatural

        >>> “Crackers?”

I wish the boy would just go ahead and call me what my fellow Southerners and I call each other outside the hearing of Folks from Up Nawth, to wit, “Peckerwoods.”

It’s the N word for white people from the Southeast.

Say it after me: peckerwood, peckerwood, peckerwood.

Use it in a sentence, like: “I wish them sorry-assed Peckerwoods would turn they car radios down at traffic lights.”

‘Scuse me, while I call in and recharge my Debit Peckerwood Card.

        • Madame deFarge

LOL!  A word out of Dad’s vocabulary!  Glad to hear the south has not lost its flavor…!

      • kinthenorthwest

Hey I remember my mom getting me out of Juvie after my first sit down and I asked the meaning of a few words that the white police officers had called me (dang I was
so naive as a teen back them…)
Yet the one word that was surprising to me the most back then was when my sister, a few other of her Caucasian friends and I were called “White N………” numerous times by the police and booking officials.

    • Maggie

Even if that were true, Obama is the worst President we ever had.  But the idea of Obama getting into anything by merit is hysterically funny.

  • kinthenorthwest

    Spot on RRRA
Obama just does not understand any of this.  I am still trying to figure this all out.  Obama is raised by a grandmother who had a high ranking position in a bank, he goes to a private school as a teen, and even graduated Harvard.  Yet this man has no idea about the rules of Etiquette.  (I come from a 1 parent home and we were not very well off but I think I was taught a lot better than him).
From many of the articles I have seen I think the British want to see Obama out as much as a lot of Americans. I truly think that when he leaves the room or building they are laughing their heads off.  The queen is probably wondering how many more of his visits she can tolerate.
Someone posted an article about Obama changing ethnicity and you used it ..It pointed out how Obama changes his spots to fit his needs from American, to Black-American,  White American, African, Kenyan, Irish…whats next.  Only his publicist knows.

    • revamyinsc

“The queen is probably wondering how many more of his visits she can tolerate.”

No kidding, Kin – it just goes to show how incredibly well mannered she is when she has to put up with his stupidity.

Here’s the thing – there are PROTOCOL officers at the White House. This is not rocket science, not reinventing the wheel, or anything like that. There are standard rules of etiquette when it comes to working with heads of state, and especially the queen. Royalty has been around for a few years now, so it ain’t like the info isn’t out there, for heaven’s sake…

And you are so right – he has NO excuses for acting the way he does. He went to private schools, his stepfather (adoptive father?) was pretty up there – wouldn’t the kids have had to learn SOME manners? Sigh.

Yes, Obama changes his spots for whomever he is with. He is a chameleon, though he has far less substance than a chameleon…

      • AbigailAdams

Some spots he can’t change.  This time talking over the British national anthem.  Seems he thought the band would stop playing so everyone could hear his dulcet voice.  Uh, not so much.  The queen gave him a non-verbal.

        http://iowntheworld.com/blog/?p=77239

        • kinthenorthwest

If i hadn’t seen  it with my own eyes I wouldn’t have believed it.
I didnt think anybody could be that dense. Nobody talks over a country’s national anthemn.
The worse thing is, all the people in our country trying to blame it on England. That is like a stunt that a toddler might pull, but a 40 year adult.  Give me a break.

        • oowawa

Speaking over “God Save the Queen”:

I’m absolutely positive that Thee One assumed that the band was thoughtfully providing Him with musical accompaniment for His Toast.

        • PssttCmere

The Queen should have kicked him in his chicken nuggets!!  Is embarrassing America time and time again an impeachable offense?
          🙂  🙂  🙂

“Say What You Will…It Feels So Good”

        • seattlegonz

What astonishes me is the face he made after the queen smiled at him and he had to put down his goblet…he’s got that big frown on his face.

        • creeper

AA, the warning the Queen gave him was NOT “non-verbal”.  Listen at the 3:36 mark here.  She tells him “Set it down!”

          http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YG7VSt0_VcU

        • revamyinsc

OHMYGOSH, Creeper, she totally told him to put the damn thing down. Wow. What a buffoon.

And seriously – can he not give a 3.30 minute toast WITHOUT NOTES?!?!?!

        • Lana2

Did you see how many times he looked down at his notecards?? Not even subtle about it. Quite the orator isn’t he?

        • seattlegonz

And, I think if the queen told him to put it down that explains his big frown…he has grandmommy issues after all. He thinks his grandmother and the queen hate him because he’s black. I don’t know if they do/did hate him, but I’m pretty certain it isn’t because he’s black but because he has no soul, values, and can’t connect or empathize.

        • beachnan

AA-did you notice the bored look on the faces of everyone listening to our dear leader going on and on and on…?

        • Maggie

LMAO, all those people watching him, the Queen telling him “set it down”, hysterical, snarkilicious, gaffalicious.  Did he not notice no one else lifted their glass?  The band probably began so he would at last shut up.

      • oowawa

        Thee One & The Queen:

He’ll be long gone; she’ll still be there.

      • Madame deFarge

I will place blame on his Commie Mommie.  During his formative years she, above all others, left her imprint on him.  Then she abandoned him and he made her into some sort of heroine.  The only way he could  have Mommie’s approval was to emulate her anti-Western, Communist ideology.  We have no idea who he might have become without the projection of Stanley Ann’s own desires.  O’BooBoo has no idea who he is.  Feeling sorry for him is no reason to have to put up with him though.

Blessed is the child lucky enough to be born without parental projection of who they think their child should be in order to satisfy themselves.

        • samb1

          “Commie Mommie”
          ———————–
          Great line,  LOL

        • Cathy in Ks.

Madame,  I agree with you about “parental projections” on children and as an “imperfect parent” myself I know I probably did my fair share of “projection” onto my children but they still grew up to be themselves – “thank God” or the “universe” or whatever.

However, as you have stated I think his mother’s abandonment of him as well as never having known his “real father” were even more potent influences on Obama’s early development.  I think that set him on a disastrous course of pursuing a mother’ love that was “just out of reach” and a totally “fantasized father’s love” that would lead him as an adult to Rev. Wright’s church, to substitute “adulation and applause” for love, and to “rigidly cling to “isms” and controlling others as a way to not deal with his personal “demons”.  Unfortunately, it’s no longer Obama dealing with his unresolved personal issues – it’s all of us!

        • Madame deFarge

Cathy in Ks, I agree.  Maybe I was lucky to have my children before I was fully indoctrinated myself…I only wanted (want) them to be happy…their course in life will be determined by their own talents.  So far, so good.  They both have happy lives and are successful humans.  Yes, rather than killing his demons, he’s foisted them on us.  What a weak boy…I say that as to his immaturity, not as a racial insult…Oh, wait…forgot he’s White this week.

      • Cindy

Rev. Amy—-I would give up all my kingdom to see the Queen counter O’Bwana’s toast with something like:
“This god-bless-ed sot, this dearth, this schelm, this IDIOT!”
        She could pull it off–LOL!!!

        • kinthenorthwest

Now that would make a great SNL skit…
I will make a bet that someone on his staff told him a few things…not in that tone I bet.

        • revamyinsc

ROTFL – indeed – that would be hilarious. You know she was thinking it, right? 😉

Kin, I can TOTALLY see that as an SNL skit!

      • gracieux

i can only assume that his mother had terrible manners due to choice and lack of common sense.

      • Murray

Obama’s lack of protocol re: the toast was just par for course, so far as I’m concerned.

What caused my brain to explode, was his address to Parliament.  Two things:  He starts out with a litany of the latest Huge Names to speak there (implying that he must be Really Great), and secondly, rubbing the Brit’s nose in the fact that (paraphrased), “Who would have ever thought that the grandson of a Kenyan cook for the British Royal Army would stand here as President of the United States of America.”

Oh yeah, he drew out every syllable.  I cannot imagine what caused that vitriole.  Not even subtle.

        • Murray

I’m surprised he didn’t add, “Neener, neener!”

First, the listing of the last 3 people to be invited to speak to the Parliament:

His biggest supporters are dimwits too.  Ed Schultz stuck his huge foot up his huge ass and has been suspended from msnbc…..not long enough for my taste!!

      http://blogs.forbes.com/jeffbercovici/20….graham-comment/”Say What You Will…It Feels So Good”http://www.saywhatyouwill.proboards.com

      • KenoshaMarge

Ed Schultz is an asshat who has nothing to offer any thinking person. Now by calling Laura Ingram a “talk slut” he has proved what we all knew about him a long time ago. Women who still listen, or God forbid watch this trash, show that they would rather support a lefty man than a woman who has been attacked by this POS. You don’t have to “like” Laura Ingram to say as a woman, or a man, that Schultz went so far over the line he can’t even see it in his rear view mirror. Well he probably can’t see anything but  his ginormous rear in his rear view mirror.

I’ve found all too often that lefty women aren’t part of any “sisterhood.” They only support woman if they don’t have the audacity to challenge some lefty man. Sisterhood on the left? You have got to be kidding me. Leftyhood. Yeah.

Girlpower? Seems a lot more of that on the right to me.

    • FLDemFem

kin, Obama did NOT graduate from Harvard. He graduated from Columbia, without honors, and went to Harvard Law School. I get so tired of people saying he graduated from Harvard when he didn’t.

  • sowsear
    • kinthenorthwest

Great article sowsear…liked this part the best
“The truly great black people are not those who play the race card, as Obama so frequently does, but those who choose to forego the easy path of identity politics and strive after what is true rather than settle for what is expedient. I’m thinking of people like the marvellous Allen West, who I hope one day will campaign for the White House, not on a ticket representing “black Americans” but simply “Americans”; and – on this side of the Atlantic – of people like Katharine Birbalsingh and Tony Sewell. And, of course, of Thomas Sowell – who transcended his humble beginnings to graduate magna cum laude from Harvard, not because anyone saw the colour of his skin and felt sorry for him but because he’s a clever guy who works hard and knows how to use his brain.”

      • HARP2

Check out Herman Cain’s education.  It’ll blow you away and he got his with hard work and honesty and real brain in his head not a swollen one twice the size it should be like Obama’s  I don’t know what the British are up to but I bet I won’t like it.

        • kinthenorthwest

Olivia so far Cain is the one I have my eye on.  I think he has the makings for the run and the office….
If you read the article he menitons that he would like to see West run for President.

        • oowawa

Well, if Herman Cain runs, what will become of the race card?  Oh yeah.  Stupid question.  It becomes the “Uncle Tom” card.

        • Cindy

oowawa—-LOL “Uncle Tom” card—–but hey,  why not the “Uncle Remus” card……oh wait, THAT would be racist!!!?
          I’m so confused!

        • Guest

          It’ll become the Oreo card

        • Lana2

The oreo card, owrp! I love it!

      • KenoshaMarge

I love the way that Dellingpole writes and couldn’t agree more with what he says in that article. Thanks for sharing it. Of course anyone who praises Thomas Sowell is sure to make points with me.

      • revamyinsc

oowawa, you are absolutely right. That’s exactly what it will be. I can just see Cain’s response, though: “Mr. President, you know your mother was white, right?”

Btw, my Congressman, Jim Clyburn, has pulled out the race card YET AGAIN: http://www.mcclatchydc.com/2011/05/25/114793/racism-to-blame-for-obamas-problems.html
