If Only… *Open Thread*

I had seen this before the election. Maybe, just maybe, if this has been seen throughout the land, it may have made all the difference this year… It is compelling, moving, and, well, funny as hell:

First Openly Gay Racehorse To Compete Sunday

Oh, c’mon – it was funny! I don’t know about you, but I can use all the laughs I can get right about now…

And apparently, Voldemort, I mean, “He Whose Name Must Not Be Written,” as one of my fellow NQ writers put it, didn’t reach THESE young people with all of that enthusiasm and “Youth Camps”:

Study Finds Young People Remain Apathetic About Office Politics

Oh, dear. His star is already fading…

It’s an open thread, folks. Have at it!

Ah Amy, thank you for these much needed laughs! The First Openly Gay Racehorse is a serious antidote to the dismal fact of Prop 8.

And Voldemort — need we say more–is the perfect name.

I just wanted in this open post to correct some information floating around the web that has
been introduced on here that is incorrect. Indiana and North Carolina have completed their vote counts and both states stand for Obama…..sorry. The Indiana website was not updated to reflect the
totals and all of the absentee ballots in North
Carolina are now included in the final totals.
The only state not finished yet is Missouri which
is currently in McCain’s column. I hope that holds because it would be a nice slap in the face to Claire McCaskill. Guess we are stuck with
    the Precious.

I will NEVER believe that OVomit actually “won.” We will never, ever, ever know how much of this is fraud. I will keep the faith that much more of this country had a brain and didn’t vote for that Hitler wannabe. If I didn’t believe this is fraud, then I would have to think that more than 50% of this country is brain dead, retarded, self-destructive, ignorant, etc. Not a good way to think of our fellow Americans.

I just came across the article while surfing the net all I can say is WOW!!!, I changed my party to Republican because I admired the Palin pick but my god if this is how the Republicans treat their own, am sorry I may not stick around till the next election.

Sarah Palin’s attacks on Barack Obama’s patriotism provoked a spike in death threats against the future president, Secret Service agents revealed during the final weeks of the campaign.

  • WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName

Yes, we will never know how much of it is fraud. The ACORN stuff is so widespread, then all the double voting…very, very bad for our country.

And we know now that it will never be investigated. It’s all conveniently going to just go away so the majority of the American public can continue to go on adoring the Precious One.

    Anyway, worst moment?

I now understand why the Humane Society of the United States endorsed Obama, he apparently promised them he would adopt a pound puppy to help bring awareness to the homeless companion animal problem.

But alas, and true to lying form, one of his children has suddenly become ALLERGIC to dogs! Mixed breed dogs?

On Wayne Pacelle’s (Pres.,HSUS) blog, he apparently isn’t aware of the problem yet:

I’ll be blogging in the coming weeks and months about the new administration, and the appointments of President-elect Obama will have enormous implications for our policy work in animal protection, particularly his appointments for the top positions at the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Department of Interior. There will also be a raft of new senators and representatives in Congress, most of them Democrats, and we will be excited to share our agenda for the 111th Congress with them.

But for now I wanted to congratulate and welcome Barack Obama, and ask you to join me in signing this online thank you card. Mr. Obama and his wife Michelle had previously announced they would adopt the puppy they’d promised to their daughters—and here’s a chance to show our gratitude for that right choice. This is, after all, National Animal Shelter Appreciation Week, the perfect time to highlight the importance of adopting animals from shelters.

I think it’s pretty obvious that since Palin directly took on and blew the whistle on corruption in Alaska, she would kick major ass in Washington too. All those greedy, corrupt bastards don’t want her coming in there and cutting off all the money they are stealing from taxpayers. Plain and simple. Obama is one of them-he’s been doing it in Chicago for years.

    Elizabeth wrote downthread:

Since this is an open thread…I am curious how Obama got clearance for his “Office of the President Elect” as an official government web site (change.gov). The “Office” has no status that I’m aware of as a government oranization, agency or program and yet this site has a .gov top-level domain.

The content is obviously campaign material transplanted from the BarakObama.com site which should have stayed at that level. So how does the “Office of the President-Elect” now exist within the government??

    I replied:

    http://www.dotgov.gov/

The General Services Administration sets up .gov domain sites, with an authorization letter from the appropriate government supervisor. Someone needs to make a FOIA request for the letter authorizing BO to get his .gov domain. In the meantime, alert the press.

Can someone follow up on this? (I am swamped; in contact with both Berg and Martin regarding perfecting their lawsuits, as well as initiating a project involving the electoral college.)

Not even rumors, but FACTS abt him – they treated rumors abt Palin and McCain like GOSPEL, but let anything come up abt Voldemort OR Biden, and they blew it off as unimportant, or worse, right-wing smears (I had a friend tell me I was spouting Republican talking points when I mentioned the 200,000 fraudulently registered voters in OH. I told him that the Dem. Sec. of State HERSELF acknowledged they were fraudulent, so at what point are they willing to see them as the FACTS they are, and stop discounting them as Rep. smears?? Astonishing. And this man is a retired professor. Sigh.).

Actually, it’s “plus ça change, plus c’est la même chose.”

Palin Denounces Her Critics as Cowardly

    By DAN JOLING

    AP

ANCHORAGE, Alaska (Nov. 7) – Gov. Sarah Palin denounced anonymous criticisms leveled at her by former John McCain aides as lies, including allegations that Republican lawyers were traveling to Alaska to reclaim her high-priced wardrobe and that she didn’t know Africa was a continent.
“Those accounts are not true,” the former Republican vice presidential candidate said in her first public comments on the matter since the election Tuesday.

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, talks to media after she arrived at her office in Anchorage, Alaska on Friday, Nov. 7, 2008 for the first time since she began campaigning as Sen. John McCain s vice presidential running mate.

Palin returned Friday to her Anchorage governor’s office and said she had no immediate plans to build on her newfound national name-recognition and popularity with the Republican base for a possible 2012 presidential run.

Instead, Palin said, she wanted only to get back to the governor’s desk to advance a proposed pipeline tapping Alaska’s vast North Slope natural gas reserves and to prepare Alaska’s proposed 2010 budget.

As for the vice presidential campaign, Palin denounced criticism from unidentified McCain campaign aides as “cowardly.” She said she found it frustrating trying to respond to false allegations when she didn’t know who was making them.
“It’s ridiculous,” she told reporters. “You guys report based on anonymous sources, so it’s hard to have a defense.”

One report said she and her family went on a shopping spree, spending more than the $150,000 in clothing that the Republican National Committee had earlier reported.
“The RNC purchased clothes,” Palin said.
“Those are the RNC’s clothes. They’re not my clothes. I never forced anybody to buy anything. I never asked for anything more than maybe a Diet Dr Pepper once in a while.”
The RNC will inventory clothing it purchased for her to account for dollars spent, she said. She scoffed at reports that the RNC was sending lawyers to take back clothes from her home.
“It’s not happening. Nobody’s told me that they’re coming to my house to look through closets, to look through anything. The belly of the plane that had clothes in it, and those clothes being packed up and sent back by staffers, perhaps that’s what they’re talking about, but these aren’t attorneys.”
She said she wasn’t angry at the continued coverage of her clothing, but mostly disappointed.
“This is Barack Obama’s time right now, and this is an historic moment in our nation and this can be a shining moment for America and our history, and look what we’re talking about. Again, we’re talking about my shoes and belts and skirts. It’s ridiculous.”
She also denied a report that she didn’t know Africa was a continent, not a country, and that she didn’t know the members of the North American Free Trade Agreement — the United States, Canada and Mexico. She remembered discussing both Africa and Obama’s stance on NAFTA with people preparing her for her debate, she said. Anything reported as a gaffe was taken out of context, she said.
“That’s cruel. It’s mean-spirited. It’s immature. It’s unprofessional and those guys are jerks if they came away with it, taking things out of context, and then tried to spread something on national news. It’s not fair and it’s not right.”
Asked if she felt muzzled by her limited time with reporters during the campaign, Palin said the media is a cornerstone of democracy and an important part of the checks and balances on government.
“Heaven forbid that a candidate or an elected official shy way from speaking to the media,” she said. “So it was a little bit of a frustration that I didn’t get to call more of those shots, and I guess that was sort of the ‘rogue’ criticism was, ‘She wants to talk to more of the media’ than perhaps some in the campaign wanted me to.”
Palin backed off from calling for the resignation of fellow Alaskan Ted Stevens, the longest-serving Republican in Senate history. Stevens leads Democrat Mark Begich by about 3,500 votes with more than 50,000 to be counted.
A Washington jury convicted Stevens on Oct. 27 of seven felony counts of failing to report more than $250,000 in gifts, mostly renovations on his home. Stevens is appealing the verdict.
“The Alaska voters have spoken and me not being a dictator won’t be telling anyone what to do,” she said.
Fellow senators have indicated they could boot Stevens.
“That’s their baby,” Palin said. “They’ll have to figure out what to do there.”
Palin said she was not interested in running for the job if it comes open.
“Not planning on that. Nope,” she said.

The horse video is simply hurtful, not funny. Emotions are raw after the loss of several enforced bans on gay marriage, and this is the best you can come up with. You’re just as bad as those who felt they made a bold civil rights move by voting for a black president yet voted to subvert the civil rights of gays and lesbians. Your choice to post the video is tasteless and tacky.

The November 7, 2008 New York Times, “months after the fact, has finally reported that the Aug. 7 invasion of South Ossetia by the Georgian military, was an unprovoked act, targeting innocent civilians, and foreign peacekeepers.”

It had been posted previously that the Georgian government was installed and owned by George Soros and his British Foreign Office controller, Lord Mark Malloch-Brown. The New York Times, like the most of the American mainstream media, had portrayed Georgia as the victims of a Russian invasion. Now, the New York Times reports that Organization of Security and Cooperation in Europe (O.S.C.E.) monitors, who were in South Ossetia at the moment of the Georgian attacks, have provided detailed eyewitness accounts that make it clear that the Georgian government of Mikhail Saakashvili was the aggressor all along.

The Times story contained details from O.S.C.E. briefings by two officials, Ryan Grist and Stephen Young, both retired British officers, who were heading up the O.S.C.E. monitoring team, and were able to confirm that the Georgian invasion and indiscriminate rocket fire on civilian neighborhoods in the South Ossetian capital, all took place before any Russian military reinforcements entered the enclave. The eyewitness accounts by the O.S.C.E. monitors also shows the key Georgian government claim, that South Ossetians had been firing rockets into Georgian villages to have been a lie.

The New York Times, like the most of the American mainstream media had covered this up. Why release it now?

It could be as simple as: it was breaking internationally anyway.

Or, it could have to do with a behind the scenes battle with Obama’s puppet masters to gain control of the strings? This issue/story is a good one for that. It involves Russia who is, and has been, trying to get us to establish a “New Bretton Woods” agreement NOT in line with the proposed British model. It involves George Soros, Obama’s most visible controller, and it involves Britain, Soros’ controller.

I guess we’ll have to wait and see.

Maybe that is what this is all about the want to keep her out of running for Stevens senate position. They way the RNC and those so called McCain staffers are going she may never run for anything again.

said Denis McDonough, Obama’s senior foreign policy adviser.

…Oh look he has an Obama Drama space…

    Iran blasts Obama’s nuclear criticism:CNN
Anyone care to venture a guess why the word “blasts” was used in the Title?

Larijani said that U.S. behavior toward Iran “will not change so simply” but that Obama’s election showed internal conditions in the United States have shifted.

He added that Iran does not mind if the United States provides other Persian Gulf countries with nuclear technology, but “you should know that you cannot prevent the Islamic Republic [from reaching its goals in the nuclear field],” according to the news agency.

Obama cautioned Friday that it had only been a few days since the election and that he was not in office.

“Obviously, how we approach and deal with a country like Iran is not something that we should simply do in a knee-jerk fashion. I think we’ve got to think it through,” Obama said.

“But I have to reiterate once again that we only have one president at a time. And I want to be very careful that we are sending the right signals to the world as a whole that I am not the president, and I won’t be until January 20th.”

With all the violations of the Logan Act, that comment is farse.

    Thank you Rabble Rouser Amy!
This was the best I’ve seen in a long time. It’s about time!

If only Obama would drop his “straight” facade, start speaking out in favour of his gay brothers (and sisters) and go for a seance with Nancy to find out if Larry Sinclair will accept the thousands of dollars his high-powered attorney is negotiating …so Larry Sinclair can shut his mouth and avoid exposing the first Gay Black President in History! I’m still waiting to hear from all those ‘girlfriends’ in Columbia and New York….ah Barry, why do’t you just acknowledge it. It would make your “historic”run even more worhty! ANd who knows, you might even be cured of your misogynist “flip-offing” ways….Now that you hired ex-ballerina Rahm Emanuel who’s also midfinger-challenged!

    Chris

As an impecunious dunderheaded member of the hoi polloi, you epitomize the parthenogenesis of non-iatrogenic Obamyopic bacteria. The ‘full catastrophe’ awaits His Hopeness and mendacity on your part will hardly proselytize anyone at NQ. Unless epistemological hara-kiri at Sara Lawrence was part of your remedial course load after failing your ballet major.
