We see what is happening to Joe Lieberman and he is an democrat turned independent, but caucuses with the democrats. He stands to lose his committee assignments or be 'demoted'. Harry Reid was saying yesterday how angry they all are at Lieberman.

Had Hillary supported McCain, they would probably vote her out of the senate. You really cannot cross party lines in politics other than sponsoning some legislation with the other side. In the end, if you cross that line, neither side claims you.

I agree, Mira. After June the 7th, most of us understood Hillary basically had a gun to her head in terms of not only "appearing to support Obama", but with demands of as much enthusiasm as she and Bill had for her own candidacy or else be blamed for a loss - a tall order that they basically delivered.

It left those of us who refused to get onboard the Obama train for very principled, factual reasons feeling that somehow something was wrong with "us". I do think we are owed some explanation here. Had BO lost, we would have probably gotten that, but with him headed to the White House, I'm afraid we have a long wait for any explanation from the Clintons. There will be others who will speak out that will have to suffice.

Huh ? How could there be an ultimatium ? This is a case the SCOTUS hasn't even agreed to hear, yet.

What Obama will respond to by Dec 1 is a venue matter asking the justices simply to not dismiss the Berg appeal.

This "base stayed home in such high numbers" is questionable. How convenient. Those likely most opposed to voting for Obama just did not vote???

Swing states with fewer people voting than 4 years ago?

Sounds like massive voter fraud to me. Machines set to delete a % of Republican votes.

Keep in mind that Obama and his group pushed each and every vulnerability in our election process. Masterfully.

Millions of hard-core conservatives did not stay home.

This is why the Obama campaign is still paying staff to bash Gov. Palin. She "gets it". She knows what is going on. She is too close to the truth. She is the voice of the resistance.

Perhaps there is another reason? Perhaps the plan required appearances of support while real investigations go on behind the scenes? Drug deals have to go down before the Feds rush in. To catch the bigger fish in any operation, they often wait.

Thank you.

Maybe I'm dense, but I still don't understand how Hillary was ultimately responsible for not vetting her primary opponant.

The job of the primary 'loser' is to work for party unity.

The job of the media is to vet each candidate, evan handedly.

The job of the general election loser was to run a competent campaign and get their voters out.

Hillary will never be blamed by the American people
for an Obama win. If he fails, her popularity rises. And if the story of another stolen election gets its due, there will be clamoring for another run (a la Al Gore in 2004).

As long as the Democrats refuse to overhaul the caucus/primary process, there will never be an "elected not selected" Dem nominee in the future, especially after the way Obama perverted the system this election.

The whole IA caucus was bought and paid for with favors, promises, and campaign contributions to IA politicians and the IA Dem Party by Obama and Howard Dean, and that is why the IA Dem Party looked the other way and, I believe, in many ways enabled the fraud. Hillary was the only one who displayed integrity in the campaign process.

Remember the fight between the states for placement - the fight to dislodge IA? Obama and Howard Dean promised to support IA's 1st in the nation status; Obama even took his name off the Michigan and Floriday ballots to prove it, knowing it would screw up the delegate counting. Look at the money Obama gave the other political campaigns. Review the reasons politicians gave for endorsing Obama - nonsensical statements like "he's inspiring," "he draws all these young people," ... never anything intelligent about his qualifications or ability to be President over Hillary and done when Obama was not winning the votes.

Remember all the reports of bussing people in to vote in the caucuses from out of state (no doubt Acorn people who were paid with the $800,000 from Obama for "get out the vote" efforts)? That bussing in of votes won him IA.

Then there were the other caucus incidents - maybe not as apparent in IA, but just as effective. Why else would the Dem Party wait until a couple hours before the caucus starts to call people to act as caucus leader...People who had never done it before, but agreed to do it/fumble their way through it out of kindness...People who might not know if the process was tainted.

IA is big in the ethanol business. Obama pledged heavy support to continue subsidies, another reason the Dem governor and Dem Party threw their support his way. By the way, McCain has long been vocal about his nonsupport of ethanol subsidies. That is why he lost IA by so much. Obama winning IA is not the logical conclusion to his winning the caucus there. Obama won IA because people were against McCain.

And, Hillary's ignorant campaign staff made it easier for Obama to win in IA. They kept her from developing the relationship with voters that is expected in the early states during the many months of the early campaining.

Obama won the IA caucus by far more than the average of the polls. He won by a +7.8 spread. The RCP Polling Average from 12/26/07-1/02/08 was only +1.6.

Obama would never have made it past New Hampshire except that he was able to throw the IA caucus. It ended up being simple until he found out that Hillary was not a quitter even though she was constantly harassed to quit. And the longer she fought on the more vicious and nasty the Obama supporters got.

The only way to prevent it from happening again is to get rid of the caucus system and go only to a primary voting process. At the same time, the scheduling must be changed. The early states make a huge amount of money from the campaigning that goes on. And, since the caucus system of voting is very cheap compared to the primary system, IA especially makes a ton of money. That money promotes corruption of the process... Good luck to anyone who wants to take this on.....

Don't you find it odd, that Obama won each and every battleground state????

Something doesn't smell right here...ok I'll give him one or two, but all of them????

I too doubt that he really won...I think they hacked the vote, or there was massive voter fraud. One black guy got on the news after the election in PA and bragged about voting for Obama 100 times! How many people did that?

I do not believe he legally won each and every battleground state.

Me thinks - voter fraud may be his achillees heel.
