Today at the Mall, I got a free coffee at the cookie place when I was asked if I was a veteran. It made me feel good. Small things like that mean so much after the punch in the stomach on 11/4/11, another day of infamy for America....No cookie, though.

Harp, thank you for the link, it brought fresh tears on this day of Rememberance. My father and two uncles were in WW11 - all died prematurely, and my grandfather died at Paschendale, so today is a very sad day for me. I watch the ceremonies in tears and think of all the folks like PMM, whose sons and daughters are currently involved in conflicts far away from their families. It is a "Pittance of Time" to take a few moments and show respect and thankfulness, and this song goes right to the core of that, so thank you again.

And God Bless all vets, active duty soldiers and their families.
Back to lurking.

I'm still around. Just had to go underground because the Obamabots won't stop until they completely destroy my life -- every facet of it. It really helps if people don't ask. I do post once in a while, just under other names. I've also been really sick, and have spent most of the last month in bed. Going to the doctor again.

Lots of military parents! My son left me a message this morning, so good to hear his voice.
Yes, this song tears me up- exactly the feelings we have when our kids are in harms way.

And yes, both Gov. Palin and Mrs. Mccain are proud military moms.

I have always been proud of my son and his wife but there is always that element of fear. But as my son says, "Mom, somebody has to stand up for our country."
