America On A Witch Hunt Against Woman, Enabled By Barack Obama and His MSM

Copyright © 2008 Uppity Woman. All Rights Reserved.

There is no other explanation for the obsession with Sarah Palin, who has lost an election and returned to Alaska: Someone wants to keep the public busy so they don’t notice what else is going on.

Two things come to mind here.

One: What is it that Obama and the MSM do not want us to notice that keeps them obsessively preoccupied with a woman who isn’t even relevant to the Presidency right now? Is there the old “Look here so you don’t notice what else is going on” trick in play here? After all, Obama learned how to campaign dirty from George The Lesser. So why not mimic the old Switch Attention Away From What’s Going On trick?

Two: John McCain should be ashamed of himself for waiting nearly a week before saying a word about the attacks on Palin. And even then, it wasn’t much. This leads me to believe that he has no more respect for women than Obama does. Except he’s passively vile instead of actively vile. I figuratively spit on you, John McCain. You don’t deserve my respect any longer. You ran a shitty campaign that wouldn’t even work in a local election. And you left the woman you used hanging by her own thumbs, fending for herself with nary a word from you, The Hero. Furthermore, she has bigger balls than you do. That will be your real legacy in the end. Serves you right. Please see “Senator McCain have you no decency?” to get the flavor of just what we think of you for your cowardly disappearance while Palin was skewered after your own inept campaign. The least you could have done when you DID finally show up is tell everyone that you had no “advisor” named Martin Eisenstadt, which would have exposed the hoax mentioned here sooner. I hear they are now attacking your wife too, coward.

This country is about to embark on a slippery slope with women. Once the younger Obama Girls see the effect of the Presidential disrespect and disdain in the workplace–and the home–the revolt will begin in earnest. It will serve these young fools right. They will have to now fight a battle that was already fought for them, but that they took their rights for granted. Wait till they find out that the attitude of a sexist and misogynist pig President rolls downhill. Those of us who have lived long enough know all about this. They deserve the oncoming stuggle if for no other reason than their own ignorance and willingness for spawn for a phony who used them. The signs were there and they weren’t small signs. They chose to ignore them for a good time at a rally. The piper is coming and these young woman will feel the sting and bear the bruises their mothers already incurred for them.

Another dangerous side effect here comes in the form of the fundmamentalist Sharia-Law Muslims who have infiltrated America with the intent of the same savage behavior right here in America. Already we have a beast who walks upright on the run for killing his two daughters in Texas. The entire horrendous act was taped on 911 as one of his daughters pleaded that he was killing her and she was dying. His family (mother and brothers) is defending him, indicating that the girls “were bad”. This pig is finally on the FBI’s Most Wanted List right now. The problem is, they had to remove “honor killing” from the pig’s wanted poster, because it’s “racist”. I call Bullshit.

In Georgia another demon killed his daughter and sits in jail where he makes demands for special meal preparation.

These two men must be executed for their crimes. If not, we will go the way of the UK, where Sharia law has crept in by degrees. We have yet to hear The One speak out against these atrocities. Therefore, I can only assume that they don’t bother him in the least.

In the meantime, our own men and boys who supported Barack Obama and were enabled to behave like savages toward women during the campaign will have to be dealt with. Protect yourselves ladies. You do NOT have to take this shit. It has been reported that gun sales went through the roof toward the end of the Presidential campaign. I would venture to say that women who saw what was really there were a large number of buyers. As for Sarah, I’m sure she could neuter anyone of them with one shot. Fortunately for her, she is married to a man who doesn’t have any hangups about his own masculinity.

And finally, one big question: Where is NOW now? Where are these fake feminists and women’s advocate organizations who at one time, when they were real, would have never stood for the kind of treatment we are witnessing in America right now, not to mention the savagery towards women in the Middle East.

NOW is needling Barack Obama about his lack of staff diversity with respect to women. What did they expect? They helped to elect a pig and now they are shocked that he snorts like a pig. Larry Summers, the guy who got fired for declaring that black people would rather dance than learn and women can’t do math is now in Obama’s inner circle.

The mau-mauing of Barack Obama Barack Obama officially began less than 24 hours after he won the White House, when National Organization for Women president Kim Gandy piped up about the possibility of Obama picking Larry Summers as his Treasury secretary. Gandy told the Huffington Post she had “mixed feelings” about Summers, saying he “doesn’t seem to get” the economic implications of gender-based wage disparities. She cited Summers’s incendiary comments as president of Harvard about women’s intrinsic inaptitude for math and science—the ones that helped get him booted—as a cause for concern. And she expressed some displeasure that no female economists are being mentioned as contenders for the Treasury job. “We’re gonna be forwarding some names to the Obama transition team,” Gandy said. “It’s important that in this new administration women’s voices are heard and heeded.”

Oh give it Up, Gandy, like Barack Obama gives a rat’s butt what you think now that you helped him grab the Ring. You go right ahead and send him “a list of names” for him to snort at. You were only worried about abortion: an issue that is going nowhere and was used for years by the Democratic Party to sucker punch all of us.

What did the complacent NOW expect?

Start disbanding now, NOW. You are useless and toothless. You fell for it. You watched Barack Obama eviscerate Hillay Clinton and then you endorsed your own Oppressor In Chief. None of us can depend on you for anything any longer. You are neutered and it’s your own fault. As for the Gloria crowd: the only one left amongst you who has any guts is Phyllis Chesler, and from what I have read, they ostracized her for it.

The revolution will come just as soon as the Clairol Girls Get It. And Get It they will. The hard way. In the meantime, Campbell Brown, I can’t wait to see you get yours. You will never be First and you helped to make sure that happens. I would call that Poetic Justice. I shall enjoy watching it.

Amen. They fell for it is right. No complaints, just happy to follow along. Teh head of NARAL is an even worse culprit here, of course.

  • wodiej

You have a right to your opinion, but saying you spit on John McCain is OVER THE TOP. You rant about womens rights but think Sarah Palin needs a man to defend her?? This just plays into the current state of our society that women are helpless and need men regardless of how shitty we are treated. We have no idea of the conversation that went on between Sarah and McCain. Perhaps she told him to leave it alone because it would just keep the story going. Perhaps if she is planning to run for a Senate seat or perhaps President, she didn’t want it to look like she had to have a man jump to her defense. This makes women look weak.

Until we break the sterotype, women are playing by different rules. Men don’t have to prove themselves, they have a penis and that is their ticket. For women, not so.

I am not defending McCain, I am defending Palin who I believe is a strong enough woman to take care of business. We don’t know why this transpired and I have found out from experience, looks can be deceiving.

  • Dee

Why are people still waiting for the white knight to ride up and rescue the damsel in perceived distress? If Sarah Palin wants to be POTUS, then she needs to show that she is better than the boys. That has been the pre-requisite for women to succeed and it still is. No one came to Hillary’s defense except Bill and look where that got them. It’s not right but that’s the way it is. And personally, I think Gov. Palin can handle it. For all we know, she may have told McCain to lie low and let her handle it. It allows her to show what she’s really made of. I work in an industry where 95% of the employees are men. A woman either toughs it out and gains their respect or gets out. The proudest moment on the job was when I heard my male coworkers say that I was tough and could handle what was coming.

  • Sam

I agree. I am still reeling from the blatant hatred against women displayed this election cycle. By our Pres-Elect. His campaign. The media. His supporters. Wow. It has been brutal.

Where did all this hate come from? Barack Obama and his campaign set it off early. Months before the primaries, they paid bloggers to put out comments about Hillary Clinton using their “talking points” (will do anything to win, is a liar, etc..” By the time the primaries started, the blogosphere was pre-stirred up with hatred.

That directive, along with those hateful multiple daily “talking points” issued by the campaign to the media prove that this was a planned campaign strategy.

I never heard Sen. Obama say a word to his followers to stop the hatred, threats, violent images of women. Not a word.

I wondered early on how it was that a self-called “uniter” that was “above the fray” could inspire such hatred in his supporters? And they break laws with no remorse…on his behalf.

Hate has always been a powerful unifying force. It is also a productive force, in the sense it produces hysterical mobs, indiscriminate violence and mindless destruction. It produces irrational killings machines. It produces hysterical mobs which kill and ravage mindlessly

Thing is, once the hate is stirred up, it does not go away easily. Gov. Palin is still being gleefully bashed 11 days AFTER the election ended.

  • kgirl1028

This is why i am not dancing in the streets about hillary’s SOS pick. If she takes this job, she’s just one more democratic female signing off on this behavior.

  • somerset

John McCain failed as it was HIS campaign staff that was smearing Sarah Palin. It appeared as though McCain was blaming her for the loss (how unique). Of course Sarah Palin can take care of herself. The point was that her own running mate didn’t disavow his own staff and possibly his own complaints about her. If he, the one up close to her, said or allowed to be said that she didn’t know where Africa was, it is more believable to those morons out there. John McCain was wrong IMO

  • Lana

Count me as one woman that has always been opposed to guns that during this election took lessons and bought a gun. I have never seen so many so-called supporters of women and women excuse the violence against women. We do know where this leads. Soon, we will be “undesirables” and we will need to be eliminated.

  • wodiej

I agree. If I was Clinton, I would finish my term in the Senate and then find something else productive to help people. Congress is not the only place to do that. Anything that looks as though she is helping Obama, to me, is enabling the behavior of men treating women like shit and we’ll take it. Not me.

  • Lisa-NY

    Great post Uppity.
The Sharia Law scares the begeezus out of me as it should ANY woman.
What good is NOW anyway? When have they ever been effective for ALL women, not just liberal women who share every single one of their beliefs.
I am against abortion, but does that make me less pro-women rights? NO. They ought to hang their heads in shame for not speaking out against the vicious, gutless attacks on Governor Palin.
Now that they have a radical leftist ready to take the Oval Office and defend “their” rights (joke), let’s see how it will play out when and if the Sharia Law is slipped in as it was in the UK.

  • Jonas

Most telling for me in this election was that my liberal “peace-fighting” family and friends excused every attack on women politicians, including the violent images. Republicans and conservatives spoke up. I found that most sad. I cannot deal with all that hate around me, so I have avoided or cut them out of my life. I hope they see what they did someday. Meanwhile, I thank those that spoke up. I thank Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin for standing up and taking the blows.

  • WhoIsObama

Still unanswered is teh chilling fact that Sen. Obama (on taxpayer dollars) went to Kenya and campaigned for Raila Odinga. A man that supports sharia law. Noone dared ask him about this incident. How is that not relevant?

  • http://uppitywoman08.wordpress.com Uppity Woman

Hey it’s an editorial. If you have a different opinion, you should get cracking and write one. No Quarter is always looking for good writers.

The fact is, Sarah Palin is blamed for McCain’s loss when his campaign was horrendous. And they accused her of not even knowing Africa wasn’t a country, using a McCain advisor that DIDN’T EXIST. Did you click on the “hoax” link? In the meantime, John MCCain disappeared for an entire week while this false rumor brought to us from two trolls in a basement continued on. All he needed to do was say, I DONT KNOW ANYBODY NAMED MARTIN EISENSTADT. Did he do that? NO!

    PTOOEY on him I say!

  • somerset

I went over to one of the most lunatic lefty obat sites to see how the cognitive dissonance was going about Hillary and SOS. It was mixed: “nobama is smarter than all of us and whatever he does (they are not liking his choices so far) is perfect because he is GOD and SO SMART” or “put a stake in Hillary…what will it take to finally get rid of her?”. The denial is mid-blowing…in their hearts they know this guy is in way over his head but how do you allow that evil bitch to have any power? Their answer…”as SOS she can only do exactly what he tells her to do”. They have a severe case of hostile dependency on women.

  • http://milkchaser.blogspot.com Bob White

NOW is not really an organization that defends all women, as its simple name implies. NOW would be more accurately named, “National Organization for electing Democrat politicians who pander to left-wing Women”. Not nearly as catchy, I admit.

NOW trashed Sen. Bob Packwood for being a masher. That was right. Packwood took advantage of his position and wrongly attempted to grope and kiss women. Of course, he is not the only Senator or Congressman to have done so, but he was a Republican.

Said the head of NOW at the time, in effect, “I’m so sorry to see him go. He was always a reliable pro-choice, pro-feminist vote. But what he did was beyond the pale.”

Then, of course, the whole matter of principle changed when Bill Clinton was credibly accused of rape and groping. Then the tact was “What does that have to do with his politics? He votes the right way and that is what matters.”

NOW has shown its stripes long ago. It’s not about women. It’s about electing Democrats.

  • http://milkchaser.blogspot.com Bob White

I should have said, NOW is about electing the Democratic Party’s annointed candidate — even if that candidate has shown less moxie than a female candidate in the same race.

Now let’s see… when has that happened recently?

  • somerset

correction Bob White: it is about electing democratic men. NOW, Emily’s list, NARAL, Hollywood did nothing but trash Hillary Clinton and they had no excuse at all regarding her record on women’s rights

  • C.S.

We have no idea of the conversation that went on between Sarah and McCain.

We may not know the conversation but we certainly know the results. Governor Palin began booking her own interviews; first with Greta Wire, and she didn’t mince words although she selected them carefully. I don’t think Governor Palin needed a defender and if Senator McCain did defend her it was more defending himself for his choice than her as a candidate.

I don’t think the Republican politicians that helped give us Barry Soertoro, aka Barack Hussein Obama, ever intended for McCain to win; just as Democrats pulled more Dirty Tricks than Nixon to keep Senator Clinton from winning. Payback for being loyal after what the Republicans did to him in the 2000 selection of GWB? Probably.

But what both political parties didn’t believe would happen is that a new female with Hillary-like capabilities and intelligence would emerge as the People’s heroine and be able to unite voters across party lines instead of mystery man Obama, who split the Democratic party in half and had to steal a convention to stay in the race for president.

So now Democrats have their own Richard Nixon version of the “ends justify the means” philosophy to sell voters and in these acrimonious times voters just aren’t buying that bitter Obama pill even at the reduced price of the primary winner becoming a token Secretary of State.

  • Texas Playwright

Blatant misogyny and sexism from the BO thugocracy from day one. The Saul Alinsky model of agitating the populace to “win” elections and gain control includes, for the fraud, the relentless abuse of women. Didn’t Rahm the Chicago loudmouth say women “should stick to their knitting?” BO is a fragile male or he wouldn’t need to surround himself with abusive, lying, cheating, stealing thugs to match his passive agressive lying, cheating, stealing core.

Men fight each other on the campaign trail and then buddy up for the good of the team. NOWHERE in my life have I seen hatred and abuse of women as part of the campaign cycle from all fronts.

What does Hillary know to keep her anywhere near Washington? I hope she turns down SOS.

  • wodiej

no, lets’ just beat up on a person who was tortured in Vietnam and had the guts to put a woman on his ticket. Lots more courage than most people. I wouldn’t be suprised if he did want to defend Palin and she asked him to “leave it be.” If I was her and he came running to my defense, I WOULD BE PISSED.

  • annie uh-oh oakley

“I figuratively spit on you, John McCain. You don’t deserve my respect any longer.”

I can’t agree with this either. After 5 years of torture, media blasting probably doesn’t phase him at all and McCain doesn’t realize how harsh this all seems to us. He certainly could use some feminism 101, but then, so could most men.

As for Martin E.: His campaign people should have debunked him LONG AGO. McCain is not an avid internet user.

I am not totally defending McCain. I emailed his site and asked why he was not standing up for her. I asked why we couldn’t leave BOTH John & Sarah a message there – why only John???

As for NOW: they were always a bit too well fed and lethargic and slow…

    Count on (donate to) Womencount.org

They seem to have a lot more energy and potential.

  • Winston

You rant about womens rights but think Sarah Palin needs a man to defend her??

I find your comment intellectually dishonest.

Four major media networks, newpapers, magazines, womens talk shows, SNL, The View, Bill Maher, the entire print media in the US and UK, Hollywood, blogs and on-line columns have all spread false and sexist rumors about Governor Palin many of which were started by McCain’s own staffers (who wish to remain anonymous). This is equivalent to gang rape.

So if a woman is being gang raped should she be left to defend herself just to demonstrate that women can be strong? What nonsense.

McCain has a LONG HISTORY of quickly defending democrats under attack and NEVER members of his own party. This is just another example of McCain’s penchant for letting his own get ripped to shreds.

Since looks can be deceiving I guess anything goes.
How do we know ACORN committed voter fraud? After all looks can be deceiving. How do we know Obama hates women? After all looks can be deceiving. How do we know Obama received milions in campaign funds from outside the US? After all looks can be deceiving.

Why don’t we wait until Governor Palin’s reputation is so badly damaged that no human, man or woman could ever recover from it.

I thought McCain advocated “naming names and making them famous”. Doesn’t look to me like he is even trying to find out who is behind the lies about Palin.

  • annie uh-oh oakley

Re sharia law: Why was Colin Powell not attacked when he said what’s wrong with having a muslim president??????

  • TexasMirth

Where was NOW when the Said sisters of Dallas were murdered last year by their father for wanting to date non-Muslim boys? The father has not been located. He is being protected by the Muslim community. Where is the outrage? Where are the voices from NOW bringing attention to this horrific practice? At least 5,000 women around the world are slain each year in “mercy killings,” but NOW focuses on spewing hate toward Sarah Palin because they don’t like her political views. That’s NOT an organization for women! That’s a propaganda machine.
Despite the fact that one of the girls, as she was dying, called 911 and screamed that her father was murdering her and her sister, the following was the response from the Muslim community:
“As far as we’re concerned, until the motive is proven in a court of law, this is [just] a homicide,” Mustafaa Carroll, the executive director of the Council of American-Islamic Relations in Dallas, told FOXNews.com.
And from the National Organization for Women???? Silence.

It is what happens when women sit on their asses and say “Let her defend herself, she needs to show everyone how strong she can be while getting ripped to shreds.”

This is the single biggest problem in the womens movement and there are many; the idea that one of their members should be allowed to be eviscerated without any defense just to prove that women can play with the boys.

The point is not to defend a single woman, the point is to object to the overall behavior, where ever and when ever it happens.

Why will it keep happening? Women sitting on their asses and saying nothing while someone gets stoned by the hoards.

  • Winston

I agree. If I was Clinton, I would finish my term in the Senate and then find something else productive to help people

    .

She should have taken a bullet for the country and not campaigned for Obama. Why help a marxist woman hater get elected only to drop out of the senate later.

I have lost all respect for Hillary. IMHO she is pure politics and nothing else.

  • C.S.

Those “taxpayer dollars” allows him to travel and live in a style his salary would never pay for. I think all political donations above that IRS $25,000 gift limit should be taxed at the same rate as any earned income. That would also keep the crooks from running the kind of campaign we saw this year.

As for campaigning in a foreign country, that is against our laws and is a violation for a citizen, let alone a government official. If, as many believe, the man known as Barack Hussein Obama has dual citizenship this is a prime example of divided loyalties. If he doesn’t, then it is an open display of favoritism and disloyalty to the United States. So if he actually takes the oath of office which country will he be loyal to? That question has already been answered – Kenya.

But considering the blindness of our media, our government and both political parties, it is obvious that Barry Soertoro, aka Barack Obama, will not be obeying the same laws as United States citizens and our former presidents. What we need answered is: WHY? And it’s going to take a major demonstration, like the country-wide shutdown the French citizens use, to get that answer.

  • Winston

NOW is ridiculous, its just a librofacist mouthpiece now. Drop the W.

McCain is a typical politician and Sarah Palin can and will defend herself. I actually think his campaign did much better than I predicted and that the election was much closer than I would have thought. I was expecting a 20 point blowout. Not everyone is on the koolaid and McCain didnt embarass himself.

Any thinking person could see the change at Camp McCain before and after Palin. She really fired people up. Before her McCain could not BUY a headline with cold hard cash.

  • Winston

Agreed. But you will have one hell of a time trying to convince most females of this.

There was a huge incident between Packwood and Bill Clinton. NOW tried to take Clarence Thomas to the woodshed over completely unprovable assertions by one woman (Anita Hill) 20 years after the alleged incident. That is when the term SEXUAL HARASSMENT became part of the lexicon.

Hill is best known for testifying under oath at Thomas’ 1991 Senate confirmation hearings that her supervisor Thomas had made provocative and harassing sexual statements. My impressions were that some of what he was supposed to have said “pubic hair on a can of coke” is not harassment. More disgusting things are said in public by the MSM everyday.

Yet she followed him from job to job and called him at his home. He never called her.

She was black and IMHO was trying to pull him down because he was the wrong kind of black.

The Clarence Thomas fiasco was the main reason for the republican backlash against Bill Clinton for real sexual harassment; or so was claimed by several woman. This was before the Lewinski thing ever happened.

    Just my viewpoint.

I have been poking around the net for a week asking this form of question.

HOW DOES A PERSON GET A POLITICAL CONTRIBUTION TO SARAH PALIN

Money is a necessity to talk back, to influence behavior of friends and opponents.

Does she have her own Political Action Committee (PAC)?

Does Sarah have her own political campaign account?

Does anyone know how or have the URL to Sarah?

You cannot use the Alaska Government offices:

    http://gov.state.ak.us/govoffices/
“Alaska law prohibits use of state equipment or resources for campaign or partisan political purposes. Please do not send any messages to these addresses or make calls to these telephone numbers concerning campaign or partisan political activities.”"

    You have to be taught
    Before it’s too late.
Before you are six or seven or eight
to hate all the people your relatives hate.
You have to be carefully taught.

Considering everyone blames the parents when a child does something wrong, that a child’s personality is set by the time he is the age of the Obama children and children in “bad families” are now being profile, don’t be too harsh on those who might think the Obama children will not be more similar to their parents than different. “The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree” is an old proverb still in use today. And those children were members in the God Dam_ America hate church since they were born where they were carefully taught…

she would set up a site next year sometime if she plans on running again.

I think it’s a more “look over there” campaign than anything else.

As you point out Uppity, Palin has gone back to governing Alaska.

If the DNC and Obama didn’t see her as a real threat they wouldn’t be attacking her as they did Hillary.

Palin and other younger Republicans (Jindal comes to mind) are correct. The Republican party needs to change it’s perception as the party of the old rich white guys.

Never mind Obama chose an older rich white guy for VP. Or that so far his cabinet is made up of longtime DC insiders indicating no change. Or that Soros warned Obama on Fox that he expected a return for his money.

Instead of the media reporting on any of this they’ve fixated on Palin. More tabloid news on “how much the woman spent on clothes”.

Funny, not one news story about how much Michelle Obama spends on clothes as she is slated to be the next First Lady. But let’s not talk about that.

With all due respect, I don’t watch cable news, and I don’t follow the Palin saga.

I also dont pay attention to those I consider irrelevant behind Obama.

So, I’m on the outside, nothing there to really challenge me, intellectually.

And from my point of view, all of those people mentioned who would project their insecurities onto women appear dumber than dirt, no matter their grandiose plans, I mean, fucking stupid.

How pussy does someone have to be to so fear a woman in the room?

And that’s it, bottom line, they’re pussy. (I specifically use that word because woman haters fear being labeled weak, again another projection onto women of their own psyche. I apologize, I don’t mean to offend, but it is boytalk –).

This is simply a retread of Cheney, and Bush, they failed, catastrophically, Washington’s bubble is eating them.

BTW, I was reading a review of the new movie about Harvey Milk, in Vanity Fair, the reviewer said the movie helps the viewer to understand “gay rights are civil rights are human rights.”

Same for women, or any other minority, and that’s it, in a nutshell.

  • candymarl

Ah but what did Obama “win”? He promised to fix an economy in shambles, give everyone a large tax break. Raise taxes on the wealthy (the same wealthy that supported him). Let’s not forget the government giveaways and world peace.

So far he’s supported FISA, reneged on his public finance pledge, supported the Wall Street bailout and advocated bailing out the car companies. Not one word about the average American.

Oh yeah, and something else the MSM doesn’t like to talk about. Obama said Blackwater isn’t so bad and has also advocated for a Civilian Defense Force as well trained and funded as the military. Of course without the federal legal restraints the military operates under.

There’s Ayers who’s rich white daddy paid his way of out the country when he fled federal charges. I don’t hear any cries of racism about that.

But focus on the trivial. Some of us are focusing on the American people – not just Obama. But I guess that’s now anti-Muslim and racist too.

  • Tuppence411

Gandy needs to go rummage thru her bookcase, find her copy of Margaret Atwood’s novel-The Handmaid’s Tale, and re-read it. Powerful forewarning of what can happen when feminist knowingly reduce women’s rights down to one solitary issue and form political alliances based on that single issue. The quest for Utopia becomes Dystopia.

It was scary to me how many other themes of the novel appeared during this election cycle.

1.) The classification of women into various functional groups. And those women turning their fear and anger inward and at each other.

2.) Babies being classified as either keepers or shredders based on their physical perfectness :(

3.) The tools necessary for a totalitarian state- symbols, language, the ever vigilant “faithful”, civilian “eyes”.

    The similarities are scary.

    This misperception is so ingrained.

My BF was spouting crap about McCain lawn signs in the yards of all those “rich Republicans”.

McCain should have come to his running mate’s defense, whatever gender. He left Palin high and dry, and yeah, why WERE BO’s people et al still bashing Palin even after he won? Something smells to high heaven about this entire election. I spit on the whole mess.

What nonsense.

well said!! You have a strong point here; and I agree with it.

While I am not familiar with the book, I can tell you that giving birth is “natural selection.” Raising your children is “natural selection.” When the state tells you (China, anyone?) how many you can have and culture tells you which sex has value, what happens to little girls? First they are stowed in “homes” and then they are aborted. By women. Just how awful is that? You don’t like that Sarah Palin didn’t abort Trig? Maybe you need to rethink that issue.

Okay, I am getting tired of this site bashing McCain.

The man is 72 yrs old, he just went through a grueling and emotional battle against Obama who cheated, a Main Stream Media that was severely biased, gullible voters and women voters who stupidly casted their vote for Obama.

    ENOUGH!

McCain was exhausted- mentally, emotionally, physically and probably spiritually. Thus you can sit here and bash McCain as if you were in his actual shoes?

Have you served your country as John McCain has? I think not.

I also say to this site- where are all the women groups defending Sarah Palin? Why don’t you bash them instead ?

To bash John McCain because he took a few days to put himself back together is ridiculous. He did come out for her, also some of his team members came out to support Sarah earlier. Don’t ya think McCain was aware that his team was already defending her ? DUH

I guess you FORGET that Obama was ALOT MORE WORSE towards Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin.

Thus you need to be more constructive- criticize those that are truly responsible.

    Main Stream Media
Women who did not use their heads
    Gullible voters
    Obama himself

As a female, I am ashamed that our gender can be so caddy and stupid.

    ENOUGH!

This is a male dominated world- if women want to be in positions of power- then they must withstand the pressure, show the world that we are intelligent and strong! Not just a bunch of ninnies pointing fingers.

    Leave John McCain ALONE.

    Lisa,

The U.S. Treasury Dept. has already opened the back door for Sharia Law to sneak into the country. Paulson’s aide, Neel Kashkari, hosted a seminar last week at the treasury dept. entitled “Sharia Finance 101″. About 150 policy makers were invited to attend to being them up to speed on the subject.

Paulson aka Goldman Sachs wants an infusion of Saudi oil money into the U.S. banking system, and under Saudi law any recipient of a Saudi loan or investment would be subject to Sharia Law.

At her site “insightanalytical” had posted an article about how Sharia Law had crept into the UK, and when this seminar was announced she posted an update on the seminar.

The treasury dept. has a web site “Sharia Finance 101″. We had better be very aware.

Thank you Uppity Woman for mentioning this matter. Most people seemed to have overlooked it.

Hey, I’ve missed you, RC. There’s a lot of tooth-gnashing, but I don’t blame McCain. I give him credit for a lot of guts to even campaign when he’s following Bush and other Repubs were against him. Not gonna bash him for not supporting Palin the way other people thought he should; the proper thing to do would be find out first if she is disappointed. If she is, we can support her and bash him then.

  • gagirl

I don’t think Sarah NEEDED McCain to defend her. She very well may have told him to lay low, that she could handle it. (I did sometimes cringe when he went on and on about how proud of her he was, honestly……sort of grandfatherly for a sweet little child.)

The point is that denouncing his staff (the people he is supposed to be in charge of)….and defending her (the one he chose to run with) would have shown strong leadership, which we looked to him to provide. Maybe he made behind-the-scenes phone calls, who knows….or maybe he tried and no news organization picked it up (wouldn’t that be “odd”), but it would have been a welcome gesture to see in this highly sexist race. It would be nice to see people stand up for what is right, even if the victims think they can handle the attacks themselves. What an example it could have been to the DNC and BHO……THIS is how decent people live and work.
Uppity is right, women need to be ready and alert, not only for our safety…..but also for our honor as human beings, or it will be downgraded even further. We need to stand up against this behavior (even if it against those with whom we disagree on things) whenever we see or hear it, even if it makes things difficult.

  • Mandelay

I think you (like Larry) are way, way off base with regard to the “defense” of Palin by John McCain. I think this needs some objectivity. Please step back and consider: if Palin wants to maintain her momentum, she cannot be perceived as needing/requiring defending from John McCain. And she can gratefully accept such defense and fade back into the snowy scene obscurity of Alaska. In order to assist Palin in any way he can for the future, McCain’s perceived “too little/too late defense of Palin” is actually the maximum he can give her. Palin’s strongest supporters in the Republican Party despise John McCain. They see him and it’s like a red flag to a bull. In addition, Palin would never be getting the press coverage she’s getting now if Mac had repeatedly called press confernces and fired the “anonymous sources” (if indeed they work for him) who attacked Palin. The last person Palin needs to defend her is Mac. And I think that is their political deal. Keeping the distance and continuing to say nice things about each other as both have done since Bill O’Reilly allowed Carl Cameron to up the ratings with this drek. If you (and Larry) need to beat the crap out of a male Republican for attacking Palin, turn on your objectivity and “cherchez le Mitt.” He is “old guard” Republican and stands to gain from ripping Palin. But even he is underestimating Palin. As for Obama, he knows what a threat Palin really is. Even if she is nowhere near a national ticket in four years, she and the other young turks in the Republican Party can raise the party from the dead quicker than Obama would like. It’s a story as old as our country. What does a newly-elected first-term President devote his energies to in his first term? Solving the financial crisis? No. Finding Osama bin Laden. Please. Withdrawing troops? No again. He/(and one day “She” immediately starts to run for his second term. Obama knows Palin needs to be neutralized now or he’ll have trouble later, if not with her then with a highly energized Republican Party. Getting Mac to take a high profile “defending Sarah” position would just be using Mac to help Obama neutralize Sarah. Until Jindal and Pawlenty gain the national recognition and charisma of Sarah Palin, Palin is the strongest product under the Republican brand. Palin is the bridge builder for the near future revitalized/rebuilt Republican Party. It’s up to her to make sure that she emerges as the one to not only build the bridge but walk across it first. This isn’t about respect/disrespect for women. This is about the emergence of the most unlikely political phenom (from a losing ticket) and her natural ability to capture the public’s attention. Mac was the sacrificial lamb in all this. And if Palin’s evangelical constituency had really swallowed their venom towards Mac, Mac would be the unlikely President of the U.S. right now. Please… no more Mac bashing on this “issue.” Palin is being used by many in the Republican party to reposition the party. If she’s a smart as Obama thinks she is, she will turn the tables on the boys in a few years. And if she misses the target, the party will be thoroughly perceived as having been transformed, thanks to her. After seeing how Obama, possibly the most unqualified person ever to run for POTUS, used the power of marketing to advance himself every single day of this campaign, do you think the Republicans are not gong to shift into that game? After all, it was their game for so many years. Palin is the key. But, she needs the national press, even if it’s to defend herself. She needs the forum (did anyone see her very long presentation at the RGC as broadcast on C-Span this week? — even Charlie Crist was drooling just thinking about how he can use her to put the spotlight on himself). Attacking Palin with absurd allegations via anonymous sources is one terrific way to keep the spotlight on the RNC’s young turks right after an election they lost. Marketing. Marketing. Marketing. And the first shall be last. And the last shall be first. Marketing.

I worry about what is to come, how women will lose their rights, all while chanting CHANGE and HOPE. I honestly worry about the future of all the young women and see the recent attack on the young girls walking to school in Afghanistan as a message to ALL the women of the world that oppression is coming.

We stood fast, held our ground and were called racists for doing so…even by our own family members. NOW, many are only learning the truth, albeit a bit late…

In Afghanistan, after the attack there were ZERO/NONE/NADA girls in school! Threats work, attacks work to well… So, for those that stood with us, know that you are held in high regard and please don’t lose your resolve. Yes, I’m sick of it as well but that’s the way it is until WE stop them from doing that. If you want to compare it to racism, then let’s find some female Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons to play the guilt game on the American public and media as Obama and gang did instead of blasting women who have different beliefs than they do (like Palin). If we want to stop the assault, then we, women, have to get off our asses and stop asking men to defend us. I bought a gun a month ago and learned how to use it so I can defend myself. I went to college and got a degree to better myself. I am married to a wonderful man but I am responsible for myself.

The National Organization For Women was NEVER for women, its for LIBERAL women, its for women who share their views, if they don’t share their views, they are hated, called “stupid” and “uneducated” its because Sarah is pro life, which is kinda ironic because I thought the whole point of feminism was for women to make up their own minds, Sarah made up her own mind about abortion, people don’t have to agree with her but the fact that NOW keeps on bashing her tells me something else is going on. First of all, women hate beautiful, powerful women, it’s a fact, Dennis Miller was on O’Reilly a few days ago and said it perfectly, “Women hate Sarah because she has a great sex life” Now I did laugh at that statement but some of it is true, they look at her, she is very pretty, smart, has a great family, and is a powerful force in Government, you got men swooning over her, and they are thinking to themselves “What makes her so damn special” its jealousy, just think for a second of Madeline Albright or Margaret Thatcher looked like Sarah Palin, would they have been bashed by the press, of course!! The press hates Sarah because she represents everything they are NOT, the media are puppets for liberals, they are puppets for the Obama campaign, since day 1 they kissed Obama’s ass..why, I could never figure it out, they hated on Hillary Clinton, called her a “monster” and a “whore” why, what did they see in Obama, I think they see him as the next Jimmy Carter, remember, many liberal democrats still love Carter, think he was a great President(even though he was a disaster) No matter what Obama does, they will call it “brilliant” and “pure genius” soon enough, people are going to wake up, and I mean his own supporters also, they will see that they were duped by the press to follow this guy like sheep in a herd. Believe me, the press and Obama himself are already preparing for 2012, and what might happen, they are SCARED TO DEATH that Sarah is gonna run and along with Bobby Jindal(A TRUE Conservative force to be reckoned with also) that they will win and their agenda will come to an end. We might not even recognize America after Obama gets done with it, it will take years and years to fix, but remember, it took a Carter to bring in a Reagan, it will take an Obama to bring in a Sarah.

  • JozefAL

Actually, with regards to the Thomas confirmation process, exactly how many women were on the Senate panel holding those hearings?
    The answer: NONE.
In 1991, there were exactly TWO women serving in the US Senate: Barbara Mikulski (D) and Nancy Kassebaum (R). Neither woman was on the Senate Judiciary Committee. The Committee members were Joe Biden, Strom Thurmond, Ted Kennedy, Orrin Hatch, Patrick Leahy, Alan Simpson, Howard Metzenbaum, Charles Grassley, Howell Heflin, Arlen Specter, Paul Simon, Hank Brown, Herbert Kohl, and Dennis deConcini. (The bolded members voted against confirmation in the final Senate vote. DeConcini was the lone Committee Democrat to vote in favor of confirming Thomas in the final vote.)
While it’s not excusing her vote, had Kassebaum voted against confirmation, Thomas would still be on the Supreme Court. (The real vote was 52-48 for confirmation.) The real ire should be on the shoulders of the all-male, largely-conservative bloc of Democrats who voted for Thomas (Boren, Breaux, DeConcini, Dixon, Exon, Fowler, Hollings, Johnston, Nunn, Robb, and Shelby–the last one switched parties a couple of years later). Of the 22 Senators representing the “Old South” states, there were 15 Democrats, 8 of whom voted against Thomas and 7 voting for Thomas. (The GOP held the other 7 seats–all voting for Thomas.) With only 11 Democrats supporting the Thomas nomination and 7 were from the “Old South”, that leaves 4 “non-Dixie” Senators. Those 4 were from Oklahoma, Arizona, Nebraska and Illinois. (The first three states have been pretty favorable to GOP presidential candidates, meaning relatively conservative and helping explain the votes. The last, however, has been less so.)

Along the theme of Palin and McCain’s ball size (or is it size and number as well), and tying in Bobby Jindal’s (on the money) remarks to the RGA that you can’t only run a campaign on what’s wrong with the other side, I offer this, a small nugget from the campaign that I’m still astounded never got any play.

In fact, it was so overlooked that I had to specifically ask the campaign if it was correct or if I had misheard the statement.

McCain failed miserably to lay out, in simple terms, what he would do as President (aside for the normal homilies to security and “country first” and all that — good slogans but no better, really, than Obama’s slogans — and woefully short on substance).

    To the point.

I heard, not once but twice, Governor Palin state in speeches that she and John McCain pledged to BALANCE THE FEDERAL BUDGET by the end of their first term in office. That, as fiscal conservatives, she believed the government should have to live on a budget just like everybody else.

I heard it once, then again. I contacted the campaign to confirm that it was true (and not a plant). It was true. It’s a powerful message.

Barack Obama proposes spending programs he can’t possibly pay for, adding as much as a trillion dollars to the federal outlay. McCAIN/PALIN promise to cut spending and balance the budget. Restore fiscal sanity to Washington.

McCain never said it. Or, if he did, I never heard it. I never saw it reported anywhere.

Palin’s instincts. Tell people what you’re going to do. Bobby Jindal is right. Tell people why they should vote for you and not only why they should vote against the other team (even if that’s true — one without the other doesn’t invigorate and move voters).

Maybe Bobby and Sarah together is a better match? I suspect they both have the balls for the job.

  • Greg

If that’s your viewpoint, you should read up a little more on the topic. People who knew Clarence Thomas from law school on were aware of his tendency to make sexually explicit comments, watch lots of porn, and decorate his apartment with pictures of naked women. And the Senate didn’t call witnesses (at least 4) who would have corroborated that Hill told them at the time that Thomas was harassing her, and another who’d been on the receiving end of similar comments from him.

Article II, Section 1 of the U.S. Constitution reads: “No Person except a natural born citizen, or a citizen of the United States at the time of the adoption of this constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any person be eligible to that office who shall not have attained to the age of thirty five years, and been fourteen years a resident within the United States.”

There are numerous questions as to Obama’s citizen status raising suspicion and doubt about Obama constitutional qualification to be president. To settle these questions Mr. Obama must produce proof of citizenship!

    Documents that must be produced include;
    (a) a certified copy of “vault” (original long version) birth certificate;
    (b) certified copies of all reissued and sealed birth certificates in the names Barack Hussein Obama, Barry Soetoro, Barry Obama, Barack Dunham and Barry Dunham;
    (c) a certified copy Certification of Citizenship;
    (d) a certified copy Oath of Allegiance taken upon age of maturity;
    (e) certified copies of admission forms for Occidental College, Columbia University and Harvard Law School; and
    (f) certified copies of any court orders or legal documents changing his name from Barry Soetoro.

It is reasonable that these documents should be produced considering that his father is Kenyan, his adoptive father is Indonesian, and his grandmother claims to have been present at his birth in Kenya. If he is a natural born citizen then producing these documents should not be any problem.

These allegations will not go away until Mr. Obama produces proof to federal authorities and the public. If he will not do so voluntarily he must be compelled by every means available. You, as an employee of The People, have sworn an oath to support and defend the Constitution.

We The People are demanding you to make every effort, both public and private, to resolve this fundamental Constitutional question before 20 January.

I agree 100% that it’s ridiculous that nobody unearthed the hoax from the McCain camp.

Was this, however, not due to the source being “anonymous” initially? How could McCain know?

John McCain should have come to Sarah Palin’s defense, not because of her gender, but because she was his running mate. She was the person on his team that worked her heart out for his campaign. He failed as the leader of the ticket to demonstrate his loyalty in a timely manner.

A man with the same qualifications and experience as Palin would not have been attacked relentlessly by the press, the opposition, and even his own party. The difference comes down to mysogyny and sexism. That is the injustice that must be recognized and stopped.

Women need for men to speak up if attitudes are to change in the near future. It is not because of a weakness in women or a lack of effort on their part, but because men still have the political and social POWER . It’s just the way of the world.

Women in the suffrage movement, regardless of how hard they worked, could not have gotten the vote without men finally allowing it. Men would not have given this right if women had not made lots of noise.

It was the same thing Hillary was talking about when she said the African Americans’ struggle for civil rights really moved forward when President Johnson signed the Civil Rights Bill. She was not dismissing the efforts of MLK or being racist in any way. White men had the power then, too. Blacks, like women in their struggle, had to make noise. That finally led to some changes again.

Incredibly, some women act indifferent to or participate in the rampant sexism today. This makes changing attitudes more difficult than it should be. There is no law to pass this time, but if enough concerned women and men push forward, things will improve. One strong woman can’t do it by herself. She can be the spark that sets the fire, but the rest of us must fan it to keep it going.

Uppity Woman, I agree 100%. I kept wondering what women were thinking during the campaign when they were ring-leaders in the vile criticism of Palin. Where did they think they would be after this election was over? Well, we are seeing where we are and it is disgusting.

Every single program I see has 3 or 4 men and women still bashing Sarah Palin like she is retarded or something.

I would like to have seen Barack Obama thrown out there 5 weeks before the election and see how well he would have done. Hillary helped make him a much better candidate. He could give those grandiose speeches, but could hardly put a sentence together off-the-cuff. He still is very scripted and as someone pointed out, look how he messed up with Joe the plumber.

I think we have got to organize women on-line. We have got to dispel this crap that feminist means belief in R v W. You asked about NOW. NOW never spoke for me and the groups I was involved with. They were the marchers, the protesters, the bra-burners. The lesbian movement piggy-backed their groups and unfortunately gave many the idea that THAT was all the women’s movement was about. I was a member of the national organization called The Women’s Political Caucus. I’m wondering where any of them are???

I’m afraid we have to start over, but like you said, the younger women can have the fight as far as I’m concerned. We’ve done our part and they have helped mess it up royally.
