Will men dominate Obama administration?

Early indications that men might dominate the hierarchy of Obama administration have women’s groups worried, even as a growing chorus of advisers reportedly pushes Hillary Rodham Clinton for secretary of state.

“There’s definitely been a reaction to the few groups that have been named so far,” said Kim Gandy, president of the National Organization for Women. “I agree with those who are concerned that it would have been nice to see more women.”

What a shocker.  The Obama boyz club is locking out the girls.  But of course they will “try” to place qualified women, if only they can find some.

The Obama transition team asked NOW to send suggestions of qualified female candidates, according to Gandy.

“The transition team is going to take the time to look at and vet the people they don’t know,” she said. “Because frankly, the people who are already well-known in Washington tend to be men and tend to be white.”

The early teams released by the Obama administration have tended to be male-dominated. On Wednesday, four women and eight men were named to Obama’s transition advisory board. His agency review team is headed by seven women and thirteen men. And last week, Obama met with his key economic advisers — four women and 13 men.

I was reading this post over at my Partizane home when it dawned on me that, well, the entire Obama crew are AssHats.

    Wow – women’s groups are WORRIED?? Well, no freakin’ kidding! We told them not to sell their souls to the devil, and they went ahead and did it anyway. And they are SURPRISED at his male dominant administration?? Had they not blinded themselves to who he REALLY IS, they would have known that already. I have no sympathy for them – they stabbed Clinton in the back, and now they are getting some of that back. What goes around comes around…

      Any adviser who’s pushing Hillary to take the SOS job is not working in her best interests. It’s a blatant attempt to get her out of the Senate (where she can be a burr under The Pretender’s saddle) and under his thumb and out of the way.

      Is it 2012 yet? Is the nightmare over yet?

        Obama isn’t about the quit in 4 or 8 years. He’s running for Life Presidency and Congress will make it so with their Living Constitution. Out with term limits completely.

          I doubt if he could change term limits but I agree he will be in power for life. I’m sure by the time he gets every business unionized he will have so much power he won’t need to be president.

          He will just appoint his puppet every election and he will have enough union members and welfare recipients to get anyone he supports elected.

          He will also make sure ACORN gets plenty of public funding to do his bidding. I’m afraid the Republicans have really screwed up big time.

              My biggest fear is his Supreme Court appointments. You can probably add illegal aliens to his list of voters because I think he will give them amnesty and if not amnesty he will certainly give them Social Security and free health care.

        Hillary will do much more for many more as SoS than she can continuing as a very junior Sen who has been passed over for any subcmte chairs and whom has been shutout of Healthcare by teddy who plans to make it his legacy and Max who has been waiting for years to get things done

        I am very excited to see Hill as SoS, and it will be the thing that has gotten me on board and moving forward

      We looked under there, nope none. We looked over there, nope can’t see any qualified women. We looked over here, where they have been elected…yup pluck those out, so that their numbers don’t look any higher, and insert one of the qualified ones there…you know one that looks like us.

        I thought the same thing when I read that…they’ll TRY to find qualified women? I mean, sure it sounds nice until you look at the subconscious message of that sentence which implies that qualified men are easy to find and qualified women are not because there are so few of them. That is a load of crap.

        Everyone needs to read Women For President: Media Bias in Eight Campaigns. It’s ridiculous how there are so many subconscious messages sent about how women belong in the private sphere simply in how the media covers women candidates. And these trends have not chanced since the 1800′s. It’s pathetic. It was published after Hillary announced her candidacy but most was written before her announcement and it was published before any major campaigning so it doesn’t include any coverage of Hillary’s campaign. But it’s bizarre to read about the media bias in the past and be thinking “wow, that is what they did to Hillary!” or “omg, they did that to Palin!”

    Ms Gandy, uh, DUH, obviously you were one of those not paying attention. And I don’t mind saying, you surely didn’t have womens interest at heart before, so, by example, why should Barry NOW (pun intended).

    You also seemed to miss a point. If I were you, I would have taken exception to the folks who told you to submit a list of women for said positions, that were “qualified”. Gee, that sounds so sexist. NO, I’m sure we would submit recommendations for positions that are totally unqualified. Did he have to specify QUALIFIED only apply for his male positions? True, he couldn’t, that would have left many positions unfilled.

      NARAL…left women when SENATOR HILLARY CLINTON was still running, even though Senator Clinton had done more and worked harder on the cause. NOW, at least showed up at the DNC RBC meeting and GANDY did speak up there, but once it was done they endorsed him.

      Did NOW ever consider NOT endorsing him for having campaigned with Odinga who signed on to Sharia law in Kenya?

    We told these traitor women early in the primaries–we told ‘em loud and clear. I haven’t gone to my mostly female weekly coffee club for over a month because of their grossly uninformed support of BHO and their refusal to research him and the Misogynistic Sexist Media when I gave them the info.

    I am ashamed of any woman who voted for the corrupt puppet BHO. Not too fond of the men who did likewise.

        Of course, Hillary is qualified to be SOS, but she shouldn’t accept an offer if even the offer is valid. She would be under this administration’s thumb and most importantly be its SCAPEGOAT!

        Let Hillary know we don’t want her to accept SOS or any cabinet position if offered.

          Well, Febot, NOW did not endorse Obama until after the primary and the RBC. I disagree with the National NOW PAC’s decision and I actually think the feminist groups who supported The One and the feminist leaders who degraded Governor Palin helped Obama win. I’m not really happy about that for sure. Those of us who had the wit and the brains to see what would happen and voted for McCain/Palin, some of us despite our being Democrats, will now have to suffer for this support. Wasn’t Dubya enough?

    Explain to me Kim Gandy why the daily humiliation and belittling of two women seeking election to the highest offices in the land was benefical to the advancement of women’s rights? (Maybe Gloria can help you out.) Tell me again why placing one black man into power was more important that the everyday life of millions of women? Explain to me again the logic behind making the woman’s movement a one issue campaign? (Abortion- a battle long ago fought and won, secure in the vast majority of States regardless of who is on SCOTUS)

      Okay, NOW very early on endorsed Hillary Clinton and hung in there for her until after the primaries. Kim Gandy actually campaigned for Hillary and helped open up some Clinton offices. While NOW endorsed The One in the General they supported Clinton and endorsed her in the primaries. Can we at least get our facts straight?

    Women have gone backwards — and it serves O-zero’s female voters right. It is the young women who will lose a whole lot of money over the years thanks to their support of O-zero.

    Mrs. O-zero is just as sexist as her husband — so there will be no acknowledgment of women’s issues — like health care. In her college thesis Mrs. O made a point of scream out that she was BLACK — but nothing about women’s issues — but then she went to a racist church — so what can be expected of a self hating women like Mrs. O.

    This is a battle of the young women — and frankly I don’t hold much hope for these mostly empty headed females. For the younger women who get it and understand the economics of sexism — organize into a NEW lobbying group and show some leadership. I’ve not seen ANY leadership from young women.

    The women’s groups who supported O-zero — stop sending me mailers asking me to join or asking for money.

    Third world countries keep women subservient and passive — that is what the US is turning into — but first women’s voices must be silenced.

    I was a high school counselor for O-zero’s generation — with few exception, they were a self centered, drugged up, lazy bunch of students. O-zero is the shining example of this generation — I rest my case.

    And now he is floating the Hillary-card to take the sting off his attention. Wonder when so many will wake up. It is just astounding how people are living in a dream-like trance state and vacuum.
