Combo Platter *OPEN THREAD*

As promised, today is the day I highlight my pupsters since the kitties had their day in the limelight recently. And, I will have some other great ways to give following the dogs. Hopefully, this will provide a needed distraction from $500 bottles of wine served by the White House; the “Will he or Won’t He,” and “Will She or Won’t She” for the Secretary of State position; and a bit of a release from seeing those incessant two-minute commercials for Obama coins. Oh, BLECH.

First, though, I was remiss in describing my cat, Bug, fully – he absolutely LOVES when I whistle. He comes running from wherever he is in the house to rub up against me, roll around on the floor purring, or headbutting me. AND, he loves when I give him some of the milk foam from the cappuccino or latte I am making (former for me, latter for my partner). He loves it.

And when I said Punkin’ thinks I am her mother, she exhibits this behavior by sucking on my fingers. She is over 5 yrs old now, but that doesn’t stop her. She will GRAB my hand to get what she wants.

Okay, now for the dogs. We have two now, having lost our two greyhounds within two months of each other 1 1/2 years ago. We have Sasha, a border collie mix, whom we adopted from the SPCA when she was about 1 year old 12 years ago. We call her Skippity Do Dog because she prances around everywhere. Sasha absolutely loves everyone – dogs, cats, kids, anyone…Now, it is hard to get a good picture of her because she seems to think the camera will steal her soul (I am not kidding), but here is our cute girl (with my old cat, Mariah, who died of cancer this year):

Then there is Sweetie, a chow/lab mix, whom we rescued from some abusive neighbors 9 years ago. At the time, she was clinically emaciated, and had had two litters of puppies – by the age of 1. She got her name because she would come by our house almost every day for a treat, and was definitely a sweetie, just as cute as she could be. Now, she has an autoimmune disease, from which we almost lost her a couple of years ago, but from which she is now in remission, thank heavens. She’s a great watchdog (she actually barks at people – Sasha is more in the licking people genre), but is great with kids and kittens. Here’s Sweetie (and it is hard to take pictures of her because when you pet her prior to the photo taking, she tilts her head up and closes her eyes):

For the Big Guy, LJ, and since I had those videos of the cat, I give you Peggy, the Rottweiler (she’s just a beautiful Rottweiler specimen, don’t you think?):

And now, for a fun, easy, FREE way to give to people, animals, and the environment. You may already know about these sites. There are three I recommend to you. The first is The Hunger Site. At this site you can click for the Rainforest, breast cancer, animal rescue, children, literacy, and hunger, as the name suggests. All it takes is a click of the mouse, and you have helped someone or something.

Affiliated with The Hunger site is FreeRice.com, which, as the name implies, gives free rice to people in need. This site is a little different, though – to acquire the grains of rice, you have to correctly define a word (there are four possible definitions). Don’t worry if you don’t get it the first time, it will come back around, and frankly, they can use some mighty archaic definitions sometimes…Anyway, it’s good for your brain, and helps people. Bonus!

The last one is Care2.com, which covers global warming, baby seals, the oceans, big cats, primates, pets, children, breast cancer, and violence against women. Again, just click along and you are helping all of these causes.

In these difficult economic times, it is an easy way to give needed services to people and animals, as well as helping the environment and related causes. What could be better? And you can do it daily, which is what I do. It is just part of my daily constitutional now. It’s fun, it’s free, and it helps. A triple bonus!

Let’s hear about your animals, or sites of which you are aware that help people, animals, or the environment. Or anything, for that matter. Consider this an open thread.

Wonderful–I felt like doing something good today!
    (Love the doggies also.)

  • AnninCA

I have a cute papillion. She’s a character. Pint-sized, big ears, and all aggression. She’s my “man.” *haha

Let there be one single solitary noise that isn’t in our routine, she’s on alert, ready for duty! She’ll take after coyotes, possums, pitbulls….and men. (Except my son. She seems to know, I approve of him.)

She’s my buddy in life. Right now, she really needs a good bath/grooming.

But we got back from a vacation. She went to the country club kennel….always a treat for her. I went to a spa. *haha

  • Jackarooty

Thanks, Amy! Your babies are beautiful and Peggy is a sweetie pie too!
I have two feline guys that share their lives with me.
Maxwell (15) and Jack (14). My Maxwell is part Maine Coon and weighs about 20 lbs. I refer to him as my footstool with a heartbeat. My Jack was diagnosed with cholangiohepatitis this past summer and is now on a full schedule of meds and supplements. He’s doing great!
I tried linking my google/picasa slide show but it won’t post. If anyone has any suggestions pelase let me know. I’d love to share pics of my babies.

Btw, those coins will probably become legal tender soon. I agree with your assessment…Oh BLECH.

Thanks, y’all – I wish you could see the love affair between the cat, Punkin, and Sweetie – oh, my – they are cute together!

Maine coon cat mix – I bet he IS big! My mom has one, too (a mix). He’s HUGE!!!

Sweetie is on a ton of drugs, too, for her immune-mediated thrombocytopenia…But hey – they’re keeping her alive, and that’s all that counts (those Pill Pockets they have now make pilling a breeze – not that Sweetie is that big of a problem, but it makes sure she eats them.

Thanks, again, everyone – for the kind words, and for sharing abt your own pets, experiences, and whatever else is on your minds!

  • AnninCA

OK, my open thread topic which I don’t really expect anyone else to care about….but here goes.

In the late 70′s, 80′s, the entire feminist movement took root. I was a bit of a Palin type, I can see now, in retrospect. I had no patience for chattering about it. I want to do it.

So I went into a male-dominated corporate culture and, honestly, had a blast. They wore me out, of course. I didn’t have as much emotional maturity as I needed. I didn’t have the gun-fire power to make it into the top echelons. But I still wouldn’t trade my life for anyone else’s. I loved every minute. It was the perfect environment for an overly competitive baton twirler in life whose options were whittled down to playing bridge and taking kudos for my armadillo-shaped cheese balls OR…..take a leap into an ocean for which I had no role model and was infested with sharks.

    *haha

    I jumped.

Hillary jumped. Palin jumped. I just automatically give 10 points to these women who jump. I deduct 10 points for women who live neurotic lives and chatter about having not jumped and why they didn’t jump.

So, my topic is Maureen Dowd. :)

If you follow this, kudos to you.

She really, really flusters me. How does she earn a living writing her nonsense in this era?

Good gravy. I prefer watching Entertainment tonight as to hearing what she says. She’s hard to avoid, though, huh?

    What say you guys?

    • CaliGirl

I’m confused though. As a feminist, don’t you feel it weakens the feminist movement to give “10 points” to any woman who jumps? Well, maybe that’s not what I mean to say. I certainly give kudos to ANY woman who jumps. However, for many here, it seems to be the only requirement anymore – if a woman jumps, we must support her no matter what, in politics anyways.

Doesn’t that HURT the feminist movement? I love Hillary as much as anyone, and I’m still having trouble accepting the fact that she is not Madam President, although she would certainly be the best damn SOS this country has ever seen. But when I see the same women here who supported Hillary talking about how great Sarah is and attacking the media and public for being sexist simply for vetting her the same way they would have vetted ANY VP candidate who was not known to amillions of Americas, I don’t see how that helps the FEminist movement. The Feminist movement is about EQUAL women having EQUAL chances to their male counterparts, not about making women into experiments in Gender-Affirmative Action. It angers me greatly to see women here attacking Obama for being for being an affirmative action candidate, and for playing the race card, yet support their own affirmative action candidate candidate in Sarah, and play the sex-card to the extent that it hurts, not help, all that the feminist movement has worked for. I don’t know if these people actually think they are helping women advance or if they simply hate Barack, but I don’t understand how they cannot see that supporting unqualified women like Sarah hurts strong women like Hillary and disgraces all of the hard work they have put in to get to where they are.

      • AnninCA

Oh thank you! I didn’t think anyone would bother to respond!

I don’t think that the attacks on either Hillary or Palin weaken them in the least.

So that’s one assumption I disagree with you about. I think that any woman/man who puts himself forth publicly is asking for attack. Goes with the territory.

I do NOT think Sarah is unqualifed. That’s another assumption I disagree about. I think voters decide qualification. The constituion is simple in his requirements. The voters make the decision. And someone without a lick of political experience could be decided to be qualified.

Boy, Obama is the essence of that principle.

        And so was Sarah.

        • CaliGirl

But the voters clearly decided that Sarah WAS unqualified, so I’m uncertain as to your point.

I’m trying to put into words the problems I have with many I have seen write and comment on this blog but it’s a complicated manner and thus I am having a hard time doing so.

I don’t think my problem is so much with people’s beliefs. In this country people can believe whatever they want, it’s perhaps the greatest part of this great country.

My problem is more with the inconsistency and the hypocrisy I have seen by many, not just people here, and certainly not just Obama supporters.

You can’t say that Obama and hiss supporters are playing the race card when they say that attacks on his character or qualifications are racist, and then go out and say that attacks on Sarah Palin’s character or qualifaications are sexist, without being (correctly or incorreclty) accused of playing the sex card. And you can’t be an Obama supporter stating that there were racist remarks and actions during this campaign against Obama (I find it hard to believe anyone would be questioning the citizenship of a white candidate no matter how diverse his background), without acknowledging that there was sexism at play against Hillary and Palin.

Or maybe there was no sexism or racism. Maybe we’ve truly gotten over both, and it is that very concept that ALLOWS us to attack the qualifications and character of a black man or a woman without being afraid of being called sexist or racist. Maybe we are finally evaluating Americans based on the content of their character, not their race or sex.

Hypocrisy has been flung from both sides in copious amounts throughout this election, and a great amount of it has come from blogs like this. I just call it how I see it.

          • AnninCA

Well, I’m not into the sexism stuff as many. I agree with Sarah, actually. I just thought the attacks were “odd-ball” issues.

I don’t agree with Republicans who blasted McCain for his choice.

I thought McCain screwed up on timing, that’s all.

            He announced this too late.

            • Jackarooty

Actually his timing was nearly perfect. It took the Obama post convention buzz off the table as the top story. I had read recently that the Obama campaign was shocked and totally unprepared for Sarah. They were good to go with their oppo research on Lieberman, Pawlenty, Ridge and whoever else was on the short list.
The problem was the execution (no pun intended). The McCain campaign did a terrible job rolling Sarah out. They set her up to fail. Any success was her doing.

              • AnninCA

Good point. There was an upside to the timing.

The trade-off? Days of negative press.

                But you’re right.

                • Northwest rain

So you admit you are a sexist pig — well thank you troll.

                  • Mr. Natural

I’m gonna take a wild guess, northwest. Your response landed in the wrong spot, right?

      • tek

Don’t you understand that it’s possible to not share the same political views with someone and still admire their achievements? That’s what we need more of in this country. I also LOVE Hil and I’m definitely liberal. But I like Sarah Palin, she’s a good representative of her base. She’s done a miraculous job with a career and a family. I don’t want her to be president, but I don’t care if she runs.

I think Dems who stress too much over Palin do it because somehow they are threatened by her.

      • MBC

I’m sorry, I don’t agree that Palin was vetted like any other VP candidate…they sent a team of 30 or more to swarm all over Alaska to see what they could dig up and the best they came up with was how she may have misused her powers as Governor by seeking to have her ex-brother in law who TASERED an 11 year old boy, fired. Nothing about her accomplishments as a mayor, energy director or governor. Sad. The rest of the news cycles were full of trash about her wardrobe and accounts of what some anonymous insiders said. I call bullshit…this wasn’t vetting, this was trash.

        • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

The b-i-l wasn’t fired, btw. He still works for the State Patrol. And has been turned into a victim by the ONC – a man who was drinking while on duty in a patrol car, as you said, tasered his 10 yr old stepson, AND against whom Palin’s sister as a restraining order (he’s a batterer). Wow – that sums up what has happened with the Dem party – taking the side of a batterer to try and tear a woman down.

And Palin was not vetted, per se – as MBC said, there is a world of difference between trying to dig up dirt to discredit someone, or creating a number of rumors, as the guy from Obama’s PR firm did, and actually vetting. Obama STILL has not been properly vetted – he is demanding far more info from his potential employees than he EVER gave American citizens!

So, yeah – I do not agree with Palin on a lot of her policies, but I appreciate that she is willing to DISCUSS them, and not demean/belittle who disagree with her. I realize that, sadly, that has become the exception in this country, but it USED to be the norm…

      • Mr. Natural

        My interpretation of AnninCa’s point:

The objective of Feminism was to take power.

Instead of complaining about Palin’s politics, people should be celebrating the fact that she’s made herself powerful enough to be visible enough that you can complain about her.

    • http://bluelyon.wordpress.com bluelyon

I love this. What you and Hillary and Sarah all have in common is the jump. And you didn’t ask for permission to do so.

  • Justin K

    Question:

If Obama offers Hillary SOS and she accepts, will you finally stop the insults you throw at Obama for being vindictive and horrible towards the Clintons?

Will you finally admit you were wrong?

    • AnninCA

Well, I think you’re falling into the trap of generalization.

Not everyone on this blog thinks alike.

      • CaliGirl

I agree that Justin is generalizing this blog; however, I’m not sure how the same people who call every single one of the 67 million Americans who voted for Obama “Bots” can complain about generalizations.

That being said, the overall tone of the front-pagers on this blog as well as its commenters has been that Obama is vindictive, hates the Clintons, holds grudges and will destroy this country. I don’t think it’s unfair to assume that more than the majority of readers of this blog believe these things. So, for them, I think it’s a fair question.

I have another question for them on the same regard: Will you support Hillary’s efforts as SOS (as her successes will inevitably help Obama as well), or will you hope she fails (as you did when she was stumping for Obama), in some sick, twisted way of telling yourself that you, not she, knows what is best for her and her country.

        • AnninCA

I believe that Obamabots will always hate Hillary.

          That’s a given. LOL*

I still assert, and there is not a shred of evidence, that they are kids raised in Republican homes in rebellion.

At the end of the Obama era, they will revert to their true roots…….

          Republicanism.

I should copy this and see if I’m right in the next several years.

They were just too wierd for words.

          • CaliGirl

I think you’d be surprised. I know a lot of what you would call Bots, and most of them come from unpolitical households, most with parents who have always voted Democratic but have never really been able to explain why.

Certainly the 66-34 margin won’t hold up – it’s always been like this. Just like after the 60′s, many young Americans who voted for Obama will find themselves voting Republican in the future. Youths are idealistic in their desire to help everyone – and that is the message that Democrats send – that we can life everyone up. Once they make money and realize that in order to help those in need you need to pay out your hard earned money in taxes, some will switch, and we’ll move back to being much closer to a 50-50 nation.

I still have a huge problem with your use of the word bot. Not only because it is insulting and degrading – which it is. But it doesn’t help your cause either. Calling them stupid bots, underestimating their intelligence and willingness to work for a cause, is a large part of the reason Obama did so well. While you called them bots, they learned about their candidate. They came to my door, 10 or 15 times, and spoke eloquently about the issues and policies, and why they supporter Barack Obama. And they were diverse – black, white, young, old, male, female.

I don’t see the point in degrading an entire 67 million people. Those bots just won a pretty improbable win for a pretty unlikely President. We should applaud their hard work, not degrade them.

If only we could all be as devoted and caring as the “bots” I had met. This would be a much better country.

            • AnninCA

Oh well, I suspect you’re right about the actual stats of who voted.

And I’m not at all concerned about your sensitivity to the use of Obots.

That’s just defensiveness after mounds of evidence has poured in about the “movement” fervor of this election.

There is no devotion and caring from the Obots. I was on Huffpo.

I saw the ugliness day in day out.

              It was ugly.

              It will always be ugly.

And I am always going to be very glad I voted differently from the masses who were that ugly.

And if the McCain/Palin side turns that ugly?

              I’ll vote 3rd party.

              I’m serious.

The ugliness I saw turned me so firmly away from Democrats that I know…..they’d never win me back.

And the Republicans run the same risk.

              • Mr. Natural

That pretty much covers it for me too, AnninCa.

I’m not wasting any more time thinking about Obama’s legitimacy. That war is lost. It’s over. If we had $600 million to blow on marketing it might be different, but we didn’t and we don’t.

It’s not about Obama anymore. For me, it’s much more personal. It’s about the creeps and credulous simpletons that some of my O’Zombified friends turned into.

At some point some of the O’Zombies will realize that very little has changed. It may be sooner than later, because it’s starting to look like Obama’s White House will be entirely filled with ex-Clinton administration apparatchiks. Considering the foul mouthed nature of the O’Zombie attacks on Clinton, this ought to generate quite a case of cognitive dissonance in their arrogant little pinheads.

But of course, about 28% of them won’t give a damn. ObamaBots behaved exactly like Bushies, so it’s not much of a leap to predict that Obama’s diehard nutcase base will equal Dubya’s diehard nutcase base.

Y’know, I don’t even believe we’ll have a last laugh. We’ll be lucky to get a last gasp.

            • stodgie

caligirl, let me tell you in detail what is degrading. obot is my term. live with it. deal with it or go away.

              1. degrading hillary and mccain calling them names and using rap moves to further degrade them.

              2. threatening politicans or buying them to get their votes.

              3. discounting florida and michigan. stealing votes and lying about it. acorn anyone!

              4. degrading women for politcal purposes. degrading the only two term democratic president for over a generation for mean policial purposes.

so don’t prance around here anymore with your self righteous bullshit. don’t try that crap.

        SHE/HE/IT IS A TROLL —

Other trolls are always so thrilled to find someone (another troll) who agrees.

    • Jackarooty

Wrong about what? Almost everyone here is praying that Hillary will have the smarts NOT to accept if offered the SOS position.

      • CaliGirl

Why? With Hillary being shut down on Health Care in the Senate due to Seniority issues, it’s pretty clear (to me, at least) that Secretary of State is the position in which Hillary can both help this country, as well as her chances of becoming President in 2016. Why do you ask her to hurt her country and herself simply to spite Obama? How does that help our country or Hillary?

        • Jackarooty

Well, I’m one of those people that doesn’t trust Barry. He can hire and fire her at “his pleasure”. She better serves this country by staying in the Senate, helping the state of NY and if she continues to be shut out of HC then she still has many issues that can be fought for. Teddy will probably be dead by the 2010 mid-term elections. If she doesn’t accept I think you’ll see Bill Richardson named as SOS. Barry shouldn’t pull any Dem Senators out of Congress. Although the two seats that are being vacated in IL and DE will be appointed and filled with Dems, again there is always 2010 to think about.

The main reason why JFK chose LBJ as his running mate was to get his voice and power removed from the Senate. LBJ was the Senate Majority Leader until 1961 when he took the office of VP. JFK and LBJ never really liked other that much.

          • AnninCA

Again, he’s not that stupid. Richardson is not prepared, personally or otherwise, to accept any position of responsibility.

There is something terribly askew in his life. It shows.

He’s not trustworthy. His endorsement was very humiliating for Obama. The only thing he got out of it was headlines. Richardson was out of control.

He has no business being given any leeway in responsibility until he cleans up whatever the heck is wrong in his life.

            • Jackarooty

              AnninCA,

Or maybe it’s because some people discount the good Hillary could do as SoS?

                Clue me in.

          • CaliGirl

Depends on what you consider a troll. Did I vote for Obama? Sure did, after months of hard soul searching after the primary season. Did I used to enjoy reading this blog until it turned into a safe haven for freepers and those do entirely consumed by the primary wars that they lost sight of what is best for this country? Sure did.

call me a troll, I don’t really give a shit. I’m just interested with having an honest conversation with those who feel like they were left behind this election cycle (there are groups like you after every election cycle – I was one of them after 2000). If you’re not mature enough to have that conversation and need to degrade me with name calling instead, all the power to you. Just reinforces everything my friends have told me about how this place has crumbled since the primary.

            • stodgie

if you were interested in having a “real” conversation you’d cut the self righteous crap! i mature enough but you aren’t. so don’t try condescending crap either.

Everything Barack Obama does is for political gain. If he chooses Hillary, I will believe he saw it as politically expedient. It would be a huge mistake to think he is appointing her to something to try to smoothe the rift with Hillary Dems, unless some of those Hil Dems are in D. C. with him and could cause him grief. That’s what I think is going on.

How terrible does it look to the world that Hillary (and Bill) went all out for him and then he just kicks her in the shins? Really, I don’t think Obama even cares if he looks like a callous, dense a**, but I think his handlers have guided him to this.

    • TeakWoodKite

      No. On both items.

Obama is immoral and will not escape his Karma. I am not wrong and BO is pushing one more distraction to keep the focus off himself.

Hillary Clinton is not anyone’s puppet.

      • Mr. Natural

Karma is about the only thing left that can get him.

    • MBC

Not a chance Justin K., he is a sleaze no matter what he offers Hillary or John or anyone else he has trashed. He is a fraud and not qualified to be President of the United States. How can 63 million people be sooooo STUPID???!!!

      *sigh*

      • JustMe

I wonder why each time this is covered Annin u sigh.
All he has to do is produce his paperwork if all is correct it is over…

        Simple to me.
Anyone moving here has to produce all their paperwork so it should be no different for someone running for the highest office here.

I do not understand the games that are being played..
Makes me wonder if they get a buzz avoiding what many in the USA would like to see.
Very odd if you ask me..

        • AnninCA

          I can’t stand this storyline. I think it’s racist.

I think it makes this blog look like a bunch of nutcase racists.

          I sigh because I can’t change this.

You guys are determined. You’ll lose. You’ll never admit you were wrong.

And there’s not a dang thing I can do to about it.

This type of thinking will obliterate this blog, I think.

It will become a right-wing, racist identification.

And all because of the birth certificate story.

Sincerely, I’m very sorry this blog adopted this issue.

          But…..

The owners of the blog obviously have adopted it.

If it wipes out the blog, then so be it.

          It was their choice.

          • JustMe

You guys are determined. You’ll lose. You’ll never admit you were wrong.

            Ok you cannot stand it

I get that and please do not call me a nutcase racists.

I have never called insinuated Obama anything here on this blog.

Although I do feel he cheated his way to be the Dem Nominee….

As someone who moved to this country had to go through all the legal paths to do it honestly if someone was to ask for my paperwork u can bet I would show it.

No different here in my eyes. If he has everything let him show it and move on.
Many who may of thanked him for showing it.
I find it offensive that any one ANYONE who needs to show LEAGL paperwork should feel it necessary to play games.

I thought that was the position of president here to work for the people ?
If the people would like to see his paperwork it should be shown.

So cut the shit talk by putting us all in the same boat

“like a bunch of nutcase racists”

            • AnninCA

Well, I think you’re way off base. You have no right to demand anything.

You have no legal standing. You have no moral ground.

              I won’t “cut the shit.”

It’s a meme that makes the liberal meme against Sarah’s wardrobe look tame.

Too bad. It may drive off every moderate poster here, and you may be left with ONLY “Obama is a Muslim born in Kenya” posters.

It’s really up to the blog host.

I can only speak for me.

This type of message, which I take is the direction this blog is headed, isn’t going to be my own cuppa tea.

But I also promise to exit quietly.

I’m not into confrontation with conspiracy thinkers.

              • TeakWoodKite

AnninCA; I have every right to demand that a person that seeking the Constitutional office of POTUS meet the constitutional and statutory requirements.

If it is racist as you state to demand this, then so be it. I personally think you calling it that, says a lot about you not me.

You have no legal standing. You have no moral ground..

And you judge me? The next time you say a person does not have moral ground, ya need to look at the object of the converation. BO.

Obama had a choice to honor his oath of office as a State Senator and an obligation in that station to keep people from feezing and living in squalor. He did not. Instead he profitted intentionally from their misery.

It is a serious matter when BO refuses to answer questions about his divided loyalties.
He is not a natural born citizen.
                You talk of standing?
He has spent a great deal of time money and effort hiding his past.
There is only one reason a person does this. The truth hurts and would shine a light on the pond scum of lies and fraud BO is.

                Tinfoil hats?

PS I don’t think you are a troll and I don’t seek your leave. Divided loyalties. Remember this.
It will underline all actions from BO.

                • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

I’m sorry, but I do not see how it is the least bit racist to ask to see documentation from someone who was adopted by an Indonesian father, which to me would imply he has duel citizenship. It is a violation of the US Constitution for a president to hold duel citizenship. That is not racist, it is FACTUAL.

It diminishes the import of actual racist actions when that word is thrown around at the least provocation, IMHO. If there is no problem with it, produce it. I think, given Obama has not produced any other documentation of any kind except a one page letter from his MD, it is the least he can do – it is the LEGAL thing for him to do.

I think there has been plenty enough revisionist history when it comes to Obama, and I sure as hell don’t think we should throw away the Constitution to have the first bi-racial president.

I ask you to limit the use of that kind of language for actual racist issues. And if it IS racist, I guarantee you, the Admin will be on it in a skinny second – that is not tolerated here.

              • JustMe

and I think you enjoy coming here winding everyone up…

I say wallow in your own shit and enjoy the mess. and I am sure you will make sure we hear you if you choose to leave you always make sure we hear your doubled sided posts.

Why make it any different. You make it your “STAGE”

          • tek

Annin: I think you are wrong. You sound like a ‘bot.

            • AnninCA

No, I really like Larry’s posts, LD’s posts, and some of the other regular article posters. Ani’s posts are good. Italy girl…..I like. Some of Uppity’s posts….

so I blog here due to the writers. When they consistently get too “berg-like,” then I’ll leave.

Most important, you need to mind your own blogging business, frankly.

You’re not in charge of when people decide to exit.

          • stodgie

ann, for someone who dislikes this blog so much, why are you still here? wondering?

            • AnninCA

              See above.

              • stodgie

i didn’t ask you to leave. i don’t care if you blog here. blog away. i am just wondering why you are here if you so dislike the place. and my blogging business as it were is to respond to posts on here. you post on here, you leave yourself open to responses.

            Troll!

          • mylifeontheglist

annin, excuse me…can you explain how this is racist???? To make sure that someone running for and elected for president abides to the constitution is racist? Only obots say stupid things like that.

    • Americas Soul

I bet you still do not understand why Republicans lost. All they offered was this rubbish. Even McCain wanted no part of the campaign the GOP run on his behalf.

Pretend there is no issue of Race and then put quotes around the “whitehouse”. Very telling.

      • JustMe

and if your insinuating ” ” around the “Whitehouse” means anything apart from showing it stands out your as off base as the others who feel any shout off the wall accusations.

What are you insinuating? ” ” means Obama is not entitled to the “Whitehouse”

        Get a life.
Everyone is entitled to run for the “President” it depends in the manner it is done.

Maureen Dowd is a free roaming dinosaur of the NOW variety who does not really believe that women deserve anything if they are not willing to play the sexual politics of the 1970′s.

She believes a good expensive pair of shoes is better that an intimate relationship. She is uncomfortable with other women, unless she thinks she is more attractive than they are.

She is the Yenta/ Shrew of past generations…

Dowd is jealous of Palin’s robust sexuality, and maternal mix. Dowd does not understand most women who have made different choices than she has. Worse, Dowd is not even curios about them..She articles are all balsamic vinegar.

    • AnninCA

      ewwww*……..great post.

Sorry for typos…next time spell check!

This is the website where they are trying to get volunteers to work on e-mailing/writing to electors from the various states concerning BO’s selective service registration. Whatever he has posted appears to be fraudulent, they say.

Rev, Amy—-Sweet, sweet puppies you have! And they’re lucky to have you as their mommy.
Our animals bring us so much solace right now, don’t they? Bless them for that. Which reminds me, our local Episcopalian church (which we attend) celebrates St. Francis of Assisi day every autumn. We take our dogs, and even though they misbehave, the priest blesses them! It’s a wonderful(and fun!)service.
    Thanks for sharing the pictures.

I have been doing a lot of research on the Amero and the North American Trade Agreement.

I’m starting to wonder if McCain’s loosing and Hillary getting Secretary of State was all determined ahead of time.

I watched the whole election from primary to end and kept saying something is fishy here.

This is a pretty cool video. Maybe you need a tin foil hat to watch it. I just want to know what’s really going on.

      Oh p.s. I have 18 animals!

      • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

HOLY COW!!!! Aren’t you lucky!! What kind do you have? And interesting point, too – I really wonder how much stuff is decided behind the scenes…

Cindy – that is so cool abt your church! I think the Cathedral of St. John the Divine (or, the Unfinished, as we always called it when I was in seminary – and I went in as an Epis., btw) was the first church I experienced doing that. It was quite something in the Cathedral, I’ll tell ya! Glad the priest blesses your dogs even if they DO misbehave! :-D

        • Cindy

          Rev. Amy,
You’re so funny. Yes, I’ve seen St. John’s and know what you mean about unfinished. That’s such a cool place, though. You’re lucky to have lived up there! (and it’s a block from Tom’s restaurant, which pretended to be “Monk’s” on Seinfeld. Our daughter lived at 95th and Columbus in the late ’90′s )

YOU ARE SO LUCKY!! Wow! 25 horses? Puppies?? What kind of dogs?

          And heck yeah, fish count!

          • jomama

American Saddlebreds and Friesians; German Shepherds and Maltese. I’ve just taken in 5 starved Appaloosa mares and their babies. You wouldn’t believe how many calls I’ve gotten from folks who fear they won’t be able to afford to care for their horses any more.

  • Mr. Natural

    Reverend Amy,

This Christmas, everyone in my immediate and extended family has agreed to not exchange gifts. Instead we’ll be donating the money that we would have spent on gifts to the local no-kill animal shelter. No-kill shelters are run by people with more heart than money, and they need our help, especially this year. It’s rough here in Michigan, and it looks like it’s about to get a lot rougher.

Now, if you don’t mind, I’d like to sneak in a pitch for the auto industry.

Where’s the Love? I never knew Detroit was a dirty word.

  • Zippy

    Hi kitties!
