Obama, You’re Stupid and Incompetent, so says. . .

Jon Stewart. This is must see TV.

This is important on many levels. Stewart is not a mere partisan hack. Although he tends to favor a liberal, Democrat world view he is able to call out stupidity and incompetence for what it is.

What is stunning is the ability of some on the left to try to pin this whole debacle on George W. Bush. Let’s hope the progressives keep that up. As long as they blame Bush they will fail to grasp the true source of their suffering. Only when they come to grips with reality are they capable of finally making changes that might make them more appealing to the American public.

While checking out some links on stories linked here at NQ, I came across this.. “Barack Obama’s Wings of Wax”
    http://www.commentarymagazine.com/2011/09/09/obama-wings-of-wax/

It has some interesting things to say. Such as…

“In a coincidence that calls to mind William Blake’s “fearful
symmetry” phrase, it was also Dana Milbank who in July 2008, months
    before Obama was elected, reported
that Obama attended an “adoration session” with Democratic lawmakers in
the Cannon Caucus Room, where even committee chairmen arrived early,
“as if for the State of the Union.”

Inside, according to a witness, Obama told the House members, “This
is the moment…that the world is waiting for,” adding: “I have become a
symbol of the possibility of America returning to our best traditions.”

    Some of us warned at
the time that any man who believes he is “the moment that the world is
waiting for” and views himself as “the symbol of the possibility and
best traditions of America” is an individual of staggering arrogance.”

I have news for Mr. Obama, incompetence and arrogance are not in our best traditions. Neither is failing to do the job for which you were hired and are being paid.

Thanks for this link FLDemFem — that Dana Milbank piece is priceless.

“when they come to grips with reality”

Love the odds Larry  That is about as likely as Obama not needing Haldol anymore. I mean Holder…. It would be like winning the trifecta on the 8th race at Belomt on a Wednesday.
any takers? It just will not happen any time soon. The begin of the end, short or long term, historically has been a state of denial.
Jon goes deep on this one. Lets hope the wide reciever has legs for the catch. My friends are said to be getting rowdy and it ain’t Monday night.

OMG that was funny.  Gut laugh funny.

Ehhh… I don’t buy what this guy is selling.  The minute obummer does one of his hopey dopey racey hater speeches, Stewart will be right back to his knees worshipping his “god”….

      Yup.

  • Solara9

Slapping my knees here.  That was one of Stewart’s best ever!

  • AbigailA

I don’t tune in to Stewart.  He’s a has-been.  Anyone like him on the tee vee will soon have to hire new writers and reinvent their shtick if they can, because their era is about to end.  Most of us are disgusted with these small-minded political arsonists hiding in the crowd of the truly concerned onlookers to the conflagration.  To Stewart and people like him, it’s all just another joke, a bump in ratings and more YouTube hits.

    • Larry_johnson

      Abby,
I disagree.  Stewart, regardless of his politics, is a genuine talent and his writers are top notch.  If he was a blind partisan there is no way he would have taken this head shot at Obama.  At least give him credit for a worthwhile piece.

        Larry,

The canary in the coal mine is gasping for breath via the honesty of the canary… poverty of imagination is the worst kind of methane gas to breath. Obama is only capable of “lizard brain” politics. Jon called him on it. cool. I don’t have to agree with ‘em. I think a fair piece of the audience misses the NYC mentality that is the “inside humor”. His own guys are up on the Hill trying to get his own party to vote for his policies and there is at least four Senate Dems on the fence and not facing re-election in 2012…(horse trading?)
The lexicon of the MSM is making increasing reference to “the 1930′s” or “since the depression”  , or my favorite “double dip”. Consumer spending flat, foreclosure going strong….major corporate cash reserves are still parked, like donations from the Hollywood crowd….
“The Thrill is Gone” and all BO can do is appeal to an emotional illusion and then blame Bush for making it that way….Bush got a standing O recently and Obama? They had to delay the MLK dedication just to fit BO’s golfing schedule so he could attend…
We are now fully and deep into “fool me twice” territory. Hysterical as long as I have a job. No so much for others. The folks in the food bank line in my town are my foreclosed on neighbors. Many of them voted for these ass clowns. I feel for them sincerely.

      • AbigailA

I guess all I’m saying Larry is that so long as people still consider Stewart and people like him relevant to the the serious discussions taking place right now regarding this admin we’re not moving the ball down the field and just getting mired down by poitics as usual, played-out nightly on the likes of Comedy Central.  We haven’t been confronted with this kind of darkness in our gov’t for decades.  Even Watergate and the Kennedy assassination were bracketed events that didn’t bleed over — bleed everywhere.  There’s not one area of our gov’t that isn’t under a cloud of suspicion of corruption right now from the EPA to the DoE and everything in between.  Stewart is bringing up the rear.  A day late

        • Anonymous

The thing about Stewart, Abigail, is that he is a bellwether. If he is attacking Obama like this, the rest will soon follow. I keep track of media slant and cruise around reading a lot of pundits and papers. I can tell you that the worm is turning, unfavorable stories about Obama are turning up everywhere, on all media including the ones that were cheerleading him to the max. Now they are all running stories that are not flattering, in fact some can be characterized as attacks. Stewart is a bright man, and with the job that he has, topical comedy, he is also aware of these trends. I think he just declared “open season” on Obama. Let’s hope the rest of the media are listening.

          • AbigailA

Yes, let us hope.  The concerning part is that Stewart still makes a joke of it.  Comedian or no, he’s like the court jester — making it more palatable to his audience.

            • murray

Yes, AA, we all agree that Jon Stewart, aka “The Worm Will Turn,” is not above shifting whichever way the wind blows.

On a good day, he is immeasurably useful.

        Larry,

I do give him credit for a brilliant, well laid out piece.  But I do not give him credit for sitting on similar knowleddge about Obama three and a half years ago when it would have made a difference.  He wanted to be cool and keep his audience, so he favored Obama and bashed Hillary insdtead because that was the “cool” thing to do.  He sold out long ago.  Now, because it is a little safer to bash Obama, he is doing so.  It’s is day late and a dollar short as far as I’m concerned.

When I first saw Stewart being posted on this site I figured there was some twist to it.
Yes as some said he was one of Obama’s media rah rah boys.
But this is getting to be a trend with Obama’s rah rah media guys.
I dont think its the fact they have now grown a spine as the saying goes.
I think the media is realizing that the veiwing public is and has been seeing through this guy. Citizens of American are slowly waking up to the fact that this guy is one big fake.
The Rah Rah Media are finally starting to realize they  better get off  the Obama train before they have no audience at all.

  • Wbboe

Candymarl–bail out money is the best of all worlds.  Better than private money because you do not have to show them a credible business plan.  And better than public money because you can avoid all the SEC requirements and oversight which come with being a publicly traded company.

If obama is stupid and incompetent, what does that make Stewart who was his rah-rah boy for so long?  Don’t get me wrong as Stewart has called a spade a spade, by why wear those blinders for so long?

I don’t watch Stewart either. Never watched him much anyway, can’t stand all that mugging he does.

I do see a trend though that is important. Stewart making fun of Obama for all the young-ens to see is a trend I’m sure the Obama Administration is not enjoying.

The piece above shows that the bloom is off the Obama rose for Stewart but he still could not resist taking a cheap shot at FOX. Stewart is as obsessed against FOX as he once was for Obama.

      Answer:  Showbiz.

If Stewart had been anti-Obama right out of the gate, his kool-aid drinkers (and others in the media) would have branded him a “hater.”

To keep his credibility, he had to move his audience s-l-o-w-l-y.

I wonder if bad as this appears to be, plus the Gun Walker scandal, if the latest one LightSquared isn’t going to be the worst. Isn’t attempting to influence a witness against the law?

Well you know, KenoshaMarge, the administration will just redefine the phrase “influence a witness” to mean that they gave him more current talking points with which to inform Congress. I can just hear the bots now….

      • Dorinda

I haven’t followed General Shelton’s background and recent career.  How did he come to be in this current command?  Truly hope a general would tell it like it is and not be influenced.

        • Ferd_Berfle

Apparently he did tell it like it is and that’s why we’re here discussing this now. He does have to be careful, though, because of whom he works for. There is a fine line between one’s own opinion and insubordination. MacArthur found that out the hard way.

The money connection is key.  Where was the money connection with Gun Walker?  If one can be shown, tied to political donor, then that’s three strikes, you’re out.  Surely it’s there, otherwise, why was this idea hatched?

      • AbigailA

To support his and Clinton’s narrative before the U.N. that we should have small arms control in the U.S.  Because after all, “90% of the guns going to Mexico are from the U.S.”  (That wasn’t the case before Gunrunner).  Looks like we should say that about Honduras, too.  See Project Calypso/Florida.

        • Docelder

“his and Clinton’s narrative” – Thank you… this is Hillary too. She and Obama are cut from the same cloth… a tattered and worn out socialist banner. None of these people are the solution… they are all a part of our current problem.

I don’t think there’s a money connection Dorinda, I think there’s an ideology connection. The story I hear is that the Holder DOJ was going to use the “GunWalker” incident to enforce some kind of gun control. How I don’t know and it appears they didn’t either. Just a FUBAR and a disgusting mess that is responsible for people dying.

        • Anonymous

Remember when Schumer had video tape of some gunseller in AZ selling a gun to a NY undercover friend of Schumer’s? NY conducting a sting operation in AZ. (My guess is that that was a fast and furious gunseller and sale that didn’t turn out to be the media blitz it was supposed to be because FOX started to investigate.)

The dems are afraid to bring up gun issues now because of fast and furious and because they’ve lost all leverage with independents. The only way dems can win on that issue is if they’re way ahead on other issues.

          Obama — not so much.

    • csuzeq

This administration has done many illegal things.  No one seems to care.  The problem is you’d have to have the DOJ want to do something about it, meaning Holder and so I’m sure something will be done promptly…oh, wait.

      • Anonymous

A lot of people care, just not people that have any power to do anything about it.

One reason the left hates Darrell Issa so much is that he cares and he has subpoena power. And he’s a bulldog.

I read in one of the stories on LightSquared that Obama had owned stock in the company and that he had sold it when it tanked. I am not sure what bearing this has on the case, but the connection is suspicious. At least it is to me.

Even the Obamamedia will find it hard to blame this on Bush although many are trying.

The White House noted to ABC News that the Bush administration was the first to consider Solyndra’s application and that some executives at the company have a history of donating to Republicans. The results of the Congressional probe shared Tuesday with ABC News show that less than two weeks before President Bush left office, on January 9, 2009, the Energy Department’s credit committee had voted against offering a loan commitment to Solyndra.Read more: http://abcnews.go.com/Blotter/emails-obama-white-house-monitored-huge-loan-connected/story?id=14508865#ixzz1YDPqKAdX

  • Dorinda

The recent narrative about Obama has been his weakness, his incompetence and poor choice of advisors; all of which are true.  But, with the revelation of Solyndra, another damning problem with Obama may show he’s flat out lied about transparency and influence and lobbyists and that he’s actually a money-grubbing schemer who cares more about pleasing donors than taxpayers.

This LATimes article points to another political connection with a donor and this one is very deep in the weeds at DoE.  It was troubling to me to read this

…The company filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection Sept. 6. Two days later, agents with the FBI and Energy Department’s inspector general served a search warrant at Solyndra headquarters in an inquiry focusing on whether the company misled the government in applying for the loans.

Troubling because of the speed with which the big time investigators moved in.  I feel more than ever they’re there to duck and cover, to scrub the place of incriminating evidence that Congress will have trouble getting its hands on.  After seeing results of other IG investigations, I’m not convinced there is no bias for the agency.

This thing smells on a lot of levels and you know it’s bad because its being covered by everyone.  The media may soon be adding shady, liar, criminal, politically motivated to feckless, bumbling, ham-handed, weak and incompetent.  Sort of a Carter-Nixon hybrid.

I hadn’t thought of them scrubbing the files. I’m not sure that would work because there’s too much that’s already out there and the seizure got a lot of press. I wonder if it’s his handlers setting him up for a fall (resignation or ?) because of the damage he’s doing.  Or maybe, someone in the FBI is alarmed at what he is doing to the constitution and made their moves before Holder could stop them.  Maybe someone in the Justice Dept still smarting over the Philly voter case….

Big media has a problem as well.  They made their Faustian pact with Obama in 2008 and they sold their credibility in the process.  As Obama sinks they must decide whether to fish or cut bait.  Their narrative is still locked in the 2008 mode, and they think they can save him simply by attacking republicans and the tea party.  If they defend him too far beyond this tipping point then they will have no credibility with the incoming Republican President and congress. And that means no access or influence–the only things that matter.

But if they abandon him then the left wing audience which they have cultivated so assiduously will throw a hissy fit,  accuse them of selling out, and switch channels.  Nice work Capus, Griffin and the rest of you big time exectutives who knew better than to hedge your bet.  In the immoral words of Forrest Gump stupid is as stupid does.

OT: Larry what do you think about the Patent Bill Viewed as Bailout for a Law Firm?
But critics, who have labeled the provision “The Dog Ate My Homework Act,” say it is really a special fix for one drug manufacturer, the Medicines Company, and its powerful law firm, WilmerHale. The company and its law firm, with hundreds of millions of dollars in drug sales at stake, lobbied Congress heavily for several years to get the patent laws changed.
    From the NY TIMES….

It is also strange that he would sign the patent bill, not in the White House, but at a high school in VA. According to the remarks he made, the bill was supposed to make it easier for “young entrepreneurs” to do business. I guess he didn’t find out what was in it after it was passed. And why sign it at a high school?
