POTUS Obama throws out a gesture to his partisans by announcing the withdrawal of all US troops in Iraq by year’s end. The Kurds will dig in and do fine. Baghdad is now under the boot of Tehran.

POTUS aims to get the US troops out of Afghanistan also, but 2014 if he is still in office. The US exit from the Middle East creates the vacuum that Riyadh will battle Tehran to fill.

Reports that Maliki blocked a transitionary force, because he bows to the Tehran stooge Sadr. The battle lines in the ummah are drawn sharply.

Tehran-Baghndad-Damascus-Beirut will fight to the death with Cairo-Riyadh-Amman-Ankara.

The Neo-Ottomans arise with Europe at their right hand and Tehran at their left hand.

The US is out of the region as a power. Russia can and will fill the vacuum.

For the moment, Baghdad falls again, this time to the Shia confederation. Mission accomplished for Tehran. The Sunni confederation fights back at Syria. The US is not consulted.

Actually, I was under the impression that it was al-Maliki that “announced” the withdrawal of American troops to Obama in a telephone calll–by telling him that there would be no more SOFA immunity after 31 December and that Iraqi police were going to start arresting U.S. troops for violations, real and imagined, if Iraqi law.  Shortly thereafter, Obama announced to the American people the “he” was withdrawing US forces from Iraq.

Of course, this fine point was lost to American journalists.

“Shortly thereafter, Obama announced to the American people the “he” was withdrawing US forces from Iraq.”

Retired, the only way the powers that be can force Barky into another term is if they portray him as this great military leader, the ultimate, innovate ”Commander-In-Chief” for a NEW, PROGRESSIVE AGE, LOL!

First, was DADT (for the life of me, I couldn’t figure out why, NOW), but that was to snatch back the gay vote.

Then, the bin Laden/alAwalaki/Qadafi trio, to get back the Midwestern blue-collar male vote (they can embellish him as being “anti-terrorist”, without “Bush’s loss of life”, like Diet Pepsi.

Then, the Iraq pullout, to woo back the women, who can preach to their children at family get-togethers and not be derided for it.

The fact that such a fast pullout cannot be done without some loss of American life is irrelevant to them, and to Barky, because they know that info can be suppressed.

The Dems want to wrest the image of the party of a strong defense and military prowess AWAY from the Republicans, and they are betting on the relative weakness of the GOP candidates’ image and the Bush legacy’s fiascoes to reinforce that point.

They can’t very well do it with the economy.

And, they’ll pull it off too.  Because the Republicans don’t look much stronger than the Dems on military and security issues.

“Of course, this fine point was lost to American journalists.”

Of course it was!  It was lost by design, LOL!

How else could this puppet have been elected without the complicity of the journalists in the first place?

On top of  everything they also want a “Marshall Plan” for the ME

    • HELENK
      • Scottymac54

The Middle East is not entitled to a “Marshall Plan”.

War was never declared, and you cannot either furnish aid or pay reparations to a region.

        • Anonymous

so on top of giving aid to these countries so they can become more oppressed than they were most likely before we are suppoed to give even more money now that they have stated their real intent.
I can’t wait to see them using the weapons and money we already gave to them to make the middle east an even bigger mess…
Hmmm why does this remind me of how we aided Osama about a decade prior to him taking on the Twin towers.
          Talk about history repeating itself.

who would have thought that Libya would not be a Democatic nation after all the support from  our President Obama.

      • Anonymous

And our SoS who gives Oblahblah her full support in this matter. Is this the kind of women’s rights, as human rights she once advocated for so beautifully?

  • Wbboe

Like the apples of Sodom, the allied victory in Libya has turned to ashes, as the new leader declares that the new Libya will be an Islamic State governed by Islamic law.  Thus for all their scholarship and Harvard teaching degrees, Power, Rice and Obama miss the essential fact that too often the devil you know is better than the devil you get.  From the creme of diplomatic tradition comes the wisdom which says when two enemies are battling for control the essence of strategy is not to take sides, because if you do you will have to face the victor in the next stage of history.  Trust me.  The people running this government are pretty fucking stupid.

I cannot wait to see what Nial Ferguson has to say about all this.  It will make his prior article on the cover of Newsweek entitled “How Obama Lost Egypt” look like a puff piece.  He stands there with a pistol pointed to our head and tells Iran, Syria and the rest of his compadres don’t laugh you are next.

This video epitomizes Obama’s policy in the Middle East.  This is how he appeals to those loathsome chaps:

Obama has learned nothing from the untimely death of one half of the Seigfreid and Roy team.  One thing he has proven to a fare thee well is experience means nothing–if you are an idiot like he is.  First Egypt, now Libya, he is the greatest liberator of repressive regimes in a region since Simon Bolivar.  And what he leaves in its stead and place is infinitely worse.

        • Wbboe

Obama: do not play with fire if you do not know who to put it out.  Or as Smokey The Bear famously said remember only you can prevent forest fires, or the spread of Sharia Law.  Feineman called Obama’s leadership Biblical.  Not quite Howie.  It is not his leadership, but his incompetence that is Biblical.  Biblical as in right out of the Book of Revelations.

          • Docelder

Halfway waiting here for the speech by Obama himself live from the Temple Mount/Dome on the Rock where he arrogantly proclaims that he is the one we have been waiting for. He is that arrogant as well as stupid.

what is scary is that like previous countries that we have aided they will most likely be using what we gave them in aid and weapons against us.

          • Scottymac54

You can’t participate in foreign entanglements, throw money and armaments around like “Fun Size” Milky Way bars, and expect to remain unscathed.

            • Anonymous

Just look at  what Osama did to us several years after we aided him ….
Look out USA here they come again Thanking us with our own guns pointed at our military.

With the exception if GHWB, American Presidents always forget the law of unintended consequences in the ME. Barry, in particular, has a blind spot when it comes to thinking several steps forward in the process. Further, he doesn’t appear to have even the slightest acquaintance with history, which tells us that there has never been a true democratic state in the ME with the exception of Israel (and Barry apparently dislikes them a great deal).

So in comes historically illiterate Barry, chip on shoulder, with a serious blind spot to upset the “natural” order of things in essentially tribal societies and the world gets Islamic Republics in name only in the bargain. And HRC is going along with this sheer madness.

It was bad enough that Dubya just had to invade Iraq. But wait, in comes Barry to outdo him. Geez, can we go for Syria, too?

Are we any better off now than we were even three years ago?

oops: sharia law in Lybia. . .

Mustafa Abdul-Jalil, the chairman of the National Transitional Council and de fact president, had already declared that Libyan laws in future would have Sharia, the Islamic code, as its “basic source”.
But that formulation can be interpreted in many ways – it was also the basis of Egypt’s largely secular constitution under President Hosni Mubarak, and remains so after his fall.
Mr Abdul-Jalil went further, specifically lifting immediately, by decree, one law from Col. Gaddafi’s era that he said was in conflict with Sharia – that banning polygamy.  [interesting hierarchy of  important changes!!!]
In a blow to those who hoped to see Libya’s economy integrate further into the western world, he announced that in future bank regulations would ban the charging of interest, in line with Sharia. “Interest creates disease and hatred among people,” he said.http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/worldnews/africaandindianocean/libya/8844819/Libyas-liberation-interim-ruler-unveils-more-radical-than-expected-plans-for-Islamic-law.html
