Delusional America UPDATE

Folks, I will start with a crude but vivid example. What would you think of a guy who claimed to have ten inches of a hot love machine dangling between his legs when in fact he barely reached five inches? Well, that’s what America now is. Packing a stubby while claiming to have a monster chubby.

Start with the completely bogus unemployment report issued this morning (here are the stats).

One month ago, October that is, there were 154,198,000 folks in the US labor force. 140,302,000 were employed and 13,897,000 unemployed.

So, what happened in November? The number of people in the US labor force dropped to 153,883,000. That means 315,000 people disappeared from the labor force. Many in the media, Fox included, were celebrating the news that 120,000 jobs were created in November and implying that we have turned a corner. Supposedly the number of unemployed declined by 594,000 from October to November.

Excuse me while I scream—WHAT COMPLETE UTTER BULLSHIT!!

You know how many times since 1976 we have seen the labor force contract? Never until Barack Obama became President.

Let’s start with Democrat economist Robert Reich. We need 125,000 jobs a month just to keep pace with population growth. Do you understand that?

So we learn today that we are not even keeping pace with population growth and the White House celebrates this as a victory? That’s like a stone crab whooping it up over losing only one claw.

We have not had a major flu epidemic. We have not had hundreds of thousands of combat deaths. And, to the best of my knowledge, martians have not abducted 315,000 of our citizens.

This type of delusion is common in America. We lie to ourselves consistently. Take the guys who recently won the $254 million power ball lottery in Connecticut. YEA!!!! THEY WON $254 MILLION!!

No they didn’t. When taxes are taken out and they collect the money as a lump sum they wound up with less than $150 million. Yet the news media willing reported an absolute lie as fact.

How about the sentencing of Michael Jackson’s idiot doctor? HE GOT FOUR YEARS IN PRISION.

Nope. That’s the sentence the judge announced but in fact he only is going to spend two years in the joint. Two years is not Four years. Five inches is not ten inches. And an additional 120,000 fucking jobs in November when 315,000 people disappeared from the rolls is not declining unemployment.

WTF AMERICA?

UPDATE–The manipulation of the unemployment numbers by the Obama Administration is criminal. Note, in 2009 the U.S. civilian non-institutional population over the age of 16 was 233,788,000. By 2011, November, that number is 240,441,000. That means the potential workforce population has increased by 6,653,000 people. With me so far?

In 2008 the actual labor pool was 154,287,000. According to the magical Barack Obama statistical department, the labor pool as of November 2011 is 153,883,000. That means the labor pool has shrunk by 404,000 people. As noted above, this has never happened in the preceding 32 years of gathering this data. You are asked to believe that the potential labor pool (i.e., people at least 16 years of age) has increased by almost 7 million but the labor force has shrunk by more than 400,000. That, boys and girls, is BULLSHIT!

  • Ptab01

That was too fucking funny I would have never put it that way !

    “WHAT COMPLETE UTTER BULLSHIT!!”

When I read this … I laughed out loud… I actually heard you say these words as you have in the past!

As far as the question you posed at the end? I am going to ask the same question right after the stupid shit gets reelected….. Old buddy this ain’t the republican party we all once  knew and loved. The way its going now the damn Marx Brothers would have a better chance of beating Obama..

Hey, I thought it wasn’t the size of the pencil but how you write with it ::cough::

Although not explicitly stated, I think everyone understands that if you win the lottery the IRS and state is going to get 50% of it…but I get your point.

    • Anonymous

Me?  I’d be quite happy with half.

    • Anonymous

If you win the lottery and take the cash lump sum, the lump sum is 60% of the money won, the government takes 28% of that in taxes. Or so my research tells me when I checked it out after buying lottery tickets..heh.

  • Scottymac54

Larry, I think it’s important to remember that most of us don’t take anything this government or the “presstitutes” (thank you, Gerald Celente) have to say about the economy anymore.

All you need to do is witness what’s happening around you.

Especially since fall, the downward spiral is accelerating.

Whether I drive around northern New Jersey or walk around Manhattan, you constantly see yet more small businesses and restaurants that were there seemingly yesterday, closed up for good.

The amount of commercial real estate that is vacant and dark is staggering.  Our local bus/rail service has actually taken to soliciting passengers via direct mail brochures, and the commuter buses and subway are beginning to become noticeably emptier.

In order to believe these statistics, you’d have to will yourself deaf, dumb, and blind, in the middle of a large metropolitan area.

Instead of PREPARING the populace for the aftermath of economic collapse, they throw out this fake optimism that isn’t even enough to be encouraging, considering what’s ahead of us and how long the onset of decline took.

It reminds me of being in Central Europe in the 80s, watching the nightly government-directed “newscast” that would show the same picture of a tractor in the same field, with the same ”up” arrow and the same contrived agricultural gains, period after period.

Nobody paid a bit of attention to it, not even the “party faithful”, and that’s what’s beginning to happen here.

Roughly 13.3 million unemployed Americans are now looking for work.
Another 10 million people have given up looking, or can only find a part-time job.
If they resumed their job searches, they would again be registered as unemployed, and the unemployment rate would rise to roughly 11 percent, say analysts.
In November, another 315,000 Americans stopped looking for work. If they were still looking for a job, the unemployment rate would be 9.3 percent, according to the left-leaning Center on Budget and Policy Priorities.
Another set of government data shows almost half a million people, or 487,000 people, dropped out of the workforce in November.
The percentage of the population that has a job continued its decline from 62.9 percent in January 2008, to 58.5 percent in November 2011.
The U.S. unemployment rate is also boosted by roughly 160,000 additional people entering the workforce each month, and by the arrival of roughly 70,000 working-age legal immigrants each month. The economy generated only 120,000 new jobs in November.

    Dear Mr. Johnson,
     1. Aliens have kidnapped those so-called unemployed. They told me so.
    2. Unemployment checks mean you have a job. The job is virtual yet it exists.

    5. Jobs have been spotted at the black hole event horizon.

    Larry:

On Just One Day — December 5, 2008, Then FED Chair,  Hank Paulson —

Had To Spend 1,2 Trillion To Bail Out The Banks.

$1.2 Trillion In A Single Day!!!

Remember That In Sept./Oct. 2008 Paulson Had Begged Congress And Both Obama And McCain To Pass $750 Billion Called TARP.

Up Till Then Paulson Had Been Throwing Sums Like 18, 63, & 78 Billion Dollars At The Problems.

Paulson Said That The Problem Was So Big And Moving So Fast That He Needed The “Large Sum” Of $750 Billion.

At First Congress Said No And Then It Passed TARP.

In The TARP Legislation, Congress Gave Paulson The Authority To Exceed The $750 Billion Sum — If He Needed To.

He Needed To!! —- Boy Did He Need To.

BETWEEN SEPTEMBER 2008 & MARCH 2009 PAULSON NEEDED $7.7 TRILLION TO BAIL OUT THE BANKS.

Don’t Hurry By Those Numbers —- Take A Few Minutes To Understand Their Implications.

Start By Recalling Who Hank Paulson Was.—

The FED Chair Who Had Been The CEO Of Goldman Sachs

He Had Been Dealing With This Melt Down Since Aug. 2007

    WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU??

In Sept. 2008 Paulson — With All His Experience Thinks That $750 Billion Is Enough To Handle The Rest Of The Melt Down.

    WHAT DOES IT TELL YOU??

It Tells You That A Man Of Paulson’s Experience Does Not Understand The Magnitude Of The Shit Storm He Is Right In The Middle Of!!

It Tells You That The Eye Wall Of The Shit Storm Which Will Hit On Dec. 5th, Just Weeks Away, Is Beyond Anyone’s Imagination Or Understanding.

This Is A Man Made Financial Storm That Has Grown Beyond It’s Creator’s Comprehension —

This Is A Storm That Has Turned It’s Full Wrath On It’s Creators.

It Tells You That It’s Creators Are Deluding Themselves

They Think It’s Over!!  It’s Not Over!! It Has Barely Begun.

It Is In Europe Picking Up Speed, Turning Into A Mega Storm.

$750 Billion Vs. $7,7 Trillion — Tells You The Assholes Who Think They Know —

     WHO SHOULD KNOW– DON’T!!

We Are In The Middle Of The EU Shit Storm!

Take Everything They Think They Know And—

Multiply By Ten — If It =s $100 Trillion —

    Your In The Ball Park.

    Good Luck!!

This Is About Gross Ignorance Wrapped In Arrogance And Self Delusion.

This Is The Wizard Of Oz — No One Is In Charge —

Hank Paulson Circa Sept. 2008 Demonstrates Just Exactly How Ignorant These Managerial Types Are Of What They Are Supposed To Be Managing.

He Was In The Middle Of A Man Made Financial Shit Storm Asking For A $750 Billion Dollar Solution, When He Needed A $7.7 Trillion Dollar Solution.

ABO.   I wish I had better choices, but this Marxist in Chief is hell bent on destroying this country, and any of you Dems on this site who don’t see it are fucking BLIND.

  • Anonymous

I agree with you completely, Larry – that this is being played up as an Obama win is absurd, if not criminal. It is all abt politics and campaigning, and that is all that matters to him.

I saw Eric Bolling a couple of times today, and he was adamant that there was no way there could be this
much of a drop in the Unemployment rate, even considering those who had dropped out, arguing with Bob Beckel, who
was crowing abt the new (totally false BS) numbers. He said the numbers just don’t add up – much like you did above. (Stuart Varney, too,
was very clear that the numbers could not be taken at face value.)

And, as I understand it, these numbers also include seasonal workers for the holidays, who are also being paid less this year than last.

What a mess. Thanks for laying it all out there!

    • Anonymous

The problem for the GOP, who know that the numbers are bullshit, is that if they protest too much they are perceived, and don’t think Debbie Downer and the Dems won’t accuse them, of not wanting a good economy for Americans if it helps Obama.

I watch Bolling and Becker battle and am somewhat amused at two sides of the partisan coin. Beckel is more annoying, to me, but then I’ve never liked him, but when things don’t look so good for the left he pouts. Like a child. He has some “pouting” to come in the not so distant future IMO. And Bolling will be doing the crowing.

  • Propertius

Why is it hard to believe the labor force has shrunk? The economy is wretched, jobs in a lot fields are scarce, and I’m sure that lots of the long-term unemployed have just given up. The fact that this hasn’t happened in 32 years isn’t surprising, the economy hasn’t been this bad since the Depression.

  • Alice Wolf

You’re right.  Add the criminal mathematics used by the Obama Administration to defraud and bamboozle the American People to the long list of other criminal activity and bamboozelmenting that President Obama and his team of Wall Street …………lickers, and Hey Presto!
you have grounds for his immediate impeachment.  Or if this is not your style, then invoke the 25th Amendment Section 4, that states that when the president demonstrates he is not capable of fulfilling the terms of the office of the presidency, then members of the cabinet must tell him it’s curtains buddy.  He then has the opportunity to write Congress a letter saying he’s ready to be Prez. once more, but they have at least 21 days to give him his answer.
We cannot afford to have a person who is impeachable on many counts and who is not capable in any case of carrying out the duties of a responsible president, the evidence is rampant, think Fast and Furious, Solyandra, the war in Libya and now the nuclear capability mounting up in the Med. Ocean and the Persian Gulf for what?
To wipe out the opposition, the nations that are challenging the Atlantic community and world governance oligarchical bankster cartels, the empirical elite that have been causing misery for centuries now, who see to their complete horror, that their greedy monetarist system is going down down down, and they just can’t handle it.   They will go to any lengths to stop progress and remove the need for their services and interest charging monopolies.   They can’t even keep themselves afloat, they shot themselves in both feet.  Now who they fonna git?
    Bet it ain’t me……………………….

    Larry–it is delusional by design:

    1.  Inverted Totalitarianism: it is all politics all of
the time but a politics largely untempered by the political. Party
squabbles are occasionally on public display, and there is a frantic and
continuous politics among factions of the party, interest groups,
competing corporate powers, and rival media concerns. And there is, of
course, the culminating moment of national elections when the attention
of the nation is required to make a choice of personalities rather than a
choice between alternatives. What is absent is the political, the
commitment to finding where the common good lies amidst the welter of
well-financed, highly organized, single-minded interests rabidly seeking
governmental favors and overwhelming the practices of representative government by a sea of cash.

    2.  Managed Democracy: is a political form which in which governments are legitimated by elections that they have learned to control.  The electorate is prevented from having a significant impact on policies adopted by the state through the continuous employemnt of public relations techniques–including phony numbers.

     (See Sheldon Wollin)

The lucky thing for this administration, or any administration for that matter, is the willingness of the media to “report” bullshit as fact.

Then you have a credulous public, that in spite of what they see swallow the bullshit hook line and sinker. After all, as one of my stupider acquaintances says, “they can’t say it on television if it isn’t true, that’s against the law.” In her little fantasy land all things are possible if they are said on the boob toob.

Perception, and bullshit, trumps reality again and again. Politicians and administrations deserve much of our scorn for their dishonesty. But media that repeats the lies and distortions are far worse IMHO. They are supposed to be our bulwark against government dishonesty. They are not. Shame on them. And scorn.

Right now Obama is getting a “pass.” However, once there is a probably GOP nominee then he will be focused on and the ammunition in campaign ads will be staggering from both the candidate and other interest groups.

Larry, I think the reason is that companies are hiring outside contractors. e.g. FedEx and UPS.   Companies are refusing to increase their employment, and outside contracting is the easiest way to get the work done without paying labor taxes and health care.. From the FedEx website:

“What are the qualifications for an owner operator to become a contractor for FedEx Custom Critical?
    Safety
takes priority at FedEx Custom Critical, and we’re looking for the best
professional owner operators. Our general minimum requirements are:
No more than three moving violations within the last three years, and one or less in the previous 12 months

Ability to pass a Department of Transportation physical and drug test

A proper class CDL with HAZMAT endorsement

Unrestricted access to and from Canada

In order to contract with or drive for a contractor of FedEx Custom
Critical, drivers must meet certain other eligibility requirements.
These vary based on the size and type of vehicle:”

  • Anonymous

Larry, It was my company that got the contract to take the people out of the labor force.  They said that they’d offered it to BERG, but that you were too much of a pussy (see below item on pussy)  to take it.

It’s a pretty cool contract, actually.  All you have to do is arbitrarily come up with a figure on how many people to drop out of the labor pool each month so as to meet the increase in employment specified by David Plouffe and then send it in to the DoL.  Better than working for the Agency, actually, because you can see your work on cable news.

It pays $1 million, but you have to hire minorities as one month employees and then get them to give you a check for $2000 made out to the Obama campaign, which you then bundle and send in to the campaign finance office.  DoL has said that if Obama wins, this could be a five year contract.

    Too cool!

  • Jrterrier

and why are so few alarmed or even talking about the fact that the payroll tax moratorium or reduction or whatever else they are calling it is starving the social security and medicare funds at a time when they are already running in the red.

    it’s just nuts.
