May be wrong, but thought that Gingrich was a professor, history or geography, I think. If I am correct, I still consider teaching, no matter at what level, as a job. Admittedly what some professors are teaching is questionable, but they are still receiving a paycheck.

Obama vs. Gingrich would be LBJ vs. Goldwater. The Obama campaign is salivating at the thought that the GOP is actually this dumb.

LOL. Obama vs. Newt in a debate would be a dream come true for the Obama campaign. You have to realize that Newt's "bully routine" may play well to the idiots that make up the base of the GOP but it would not play very well nationally.

An important point about Romney is just how unlikable he is. PPP's recent polling had him at -15% favorable vs. unfavorable nationally (38% favorable vs 53% unfavorable.) This is a guy that just rubs most people the wrong way. When you add that personal lack of likability with some terrible policies that only benefit the top 1% even more ... there's just no path to the White House for someone like that. Thankfully.

"electable" ... why? Why would America want to elect a guy who made a fortune laying off workers? Why would America want to elect a guy who wants to cut taxes for the filthy rich (like himself) even lower than they already are? Romney only appears electable compared to the rest of the GOP clowns. He is not electable. President Obama will win again.

What Bain Capital did was lay off workers and take the profits. The idea that this applies to the US government is absurd.

Romney may not have the personal problems that Gingrich has but neither does Obama. And the difference is that Romney comes across as boring personally rather than likable.

Romney's got so many holes in his candidacy when it comes to the general election it's truly amazing to think he is the GOP's best chance.
1. Endless record of flip-flops. This alone was enough to destroy Kerry and Romney has about 100X as many flip-flops as Kerry did. It's not even close. Romney has flip-flopped on almost every major issue.2. Offshore bank accounts. This looks exceedingly shady.

3. Gordon Gecko corporate raider. Romney is "Mr 1%." He thinks $374,000 in a year is "not very much" money. He is completely disconnected from the reality most Americans face. He is an unlikable smarmy Richie Rich type. This would be bad during any election... but particularly during the Occupy Wall Street election of 2012.

4. Won't release his tax returns. What is he hiding?

5. His tax plan cuts taxes for rich people like himself even lower than they already are. This is a terrible plan regardless - but when tied into his personal wealth .... it's truly despicable.

6. He is not "cool." He doesn't seem to be able to handle pressure. Obama will push his buttons.

7. No foreign policy experience (going up against a President with many huge foreign policy victories.)

Romney is terrible. Look how he responds to the slightest pressure. Imagine when he has to go through what Obama went through in 2008. People underestimate just how good Obama is. He's an incredible politician. Romney can't hold a candle to the President.

Romney is not a perfectly good candidate. He's simply the best choice the Republican's have... but that's nothing for Romney to crow about - it's just that the other choices are unbelievably terrible. If Romney does win the nomination (and he likely still will) he will be the weakest general election candidate since Barry Goldwater.

He is incredibly unlikable robotic man who plays perfectly into the narrative of the 1% vs the 99%. He is a tax dodging Gordon Gecko-esque corporate raider who doesn't care at all about average Americans.
In 2008 Democrats had a battle between Hillary Clinton & Barack Obama ... compare that to today's battle between Gingrich & Romney and it's truly laughable. Either Clinton or Obama would have won 2008 easily (as Obama did.) Both Gingrich & Romney will lose by a wide margin. They are absolutely *TERRIBLE* candidates. I don't think people fully realize how bad they are.

The fact is Obama has done a very good job in very difficult circumstances. Now everyone is seeing what the alternative is and they are going to realize that Obama is easily the best choice. The Republicans have absolutely no one who can compete with Obama.
