On a more serious note, I do remember reading an essay a long time ago about the difference between our two countries.  I believe the gist of it was that the U.S. was more firmly in the box for individual freedom while Canada's government tended more toward communities, teaching their citizens to think more of how their behaviors worked for the best outcomes for their communities.  It was about a slightly different weighting of the idea of freedom.  I would love to fing that essay again.  It was interesting.
