As far as hating what happened in 2000, yep, I still hate it. But you know a lot of folks like me worked hard for McCain/Palin to be elected. Now if more Republicans had turned out to vote we might be swearing in a war hero on Jan. 20th rather than Mr. American Idol. Still, I'm pinning a small hope on the Supreme Court and the Electoral College. I'm hoping for change in the general election results. The moderate Republicans should have resisted the neo-cons, but for whatever reasons didn't. Once extremists are allowed to take over either Party, it's hard to get rid of such elements. And thus we have the likes of GWB and now BO. I hope the moderate Repubs learn from the PUMA model so that both Parties can form a coalition to keep such extremists (from either Party) from taking the WH next time around.
