I’m Troubled About A Couple Things * Open Thread

A two-parter note from Susan to all our wonderful NoQuarter readers; first a mea culpa, then a request:

During the harried days before the election, I needed help — a lot of help — with managing all of the trolls who trashed comments threads. Many people were given privileges to help with that, and I was so busy (or ill, unfortunately, so I had to rest in bed, without my computer, at least 65%+ every day). Some of these people made decisions I wouldn’t have made. And sometimes I made decisions that I’ve come to regret.

Many dissenters, including many “moderates,” were driven from the blog by others and, I’m sad to say, a couple times by me. It was usually, actually invariably, a two-way-street kind of situation. The dissenters, including the “moderates,” got very testy with the belligerent, stubborn readers, and said very rude things to these people.

We really dislike rude, personal comments towards other readers. That kind of behavior may fly at Daily Kos, but we at NoQuarter aspire to a more thoughtful critical response from our readers, with no personal attacks. (Now, don’t climb all over me — I know we miss a lot of those comments, simply because we don’t have the (wo)manpower to catch them all.)

At any rate, if your privileges were suspended or you were banned, and you’d like a fresh start here, please e-mail me at susanunpc at gmail dot com. You MUST include the username under which you wrote those comments so that I can look up what you wrote. I kept records of EVERY comment by EVERY person who was banned or placed on moderation. I’ll review those records and then work with you personally about restoring your privileges.

THERE’S ANOTHER CRUCIAL RULE ABOUT COMMENTS BELOW:

Just so you know: Many of those “comment helpers” who were the most harsh and hard-headed no longer have privileges to erase or unapprove comments. Many of them took undue advantage of their rights. They’re gone.

It’s mostly me handling the comments these days. Especially since the Obamabots — mostly college kids who should have been studying instead — have pretty much started leaving us alone.

If you do see a comment that you don’t like, do not say, “Hey, administrator” in the comments area. Sadly, chances are we won’t see your cry for justice. Instead, send me an e-mail at susanunpc at gmail dot com, and I will review the decision.

We need to be more open these days. If someone writes a criticism of Puma people or Hillary Clinton, or if someone writes something complimentary about Obama, LET THEM! Argue your POV, but don’t bash them. In some cases, they are very correct. I wish I could say more, but it’s best I don’t.

NOW FOR ONE BIG RULE THAT I BEG YOU TO HONOR:

Our writers are brilliant, talented people who have excelled in any number of fields. If you knew their “bios,” you’d be blown away. We have professors of the classics and mathematics and literature and the fine arts. We have prominent economists and attorneys and educators and ministers and actors and mothers and artists, and on and on.

When they write a piece, they give it a great deal of their PRECIOUS TIME — time that they have little of to give because they’re very busy people.

It is unconscionably rude to post off-topic comments below their stories. It is demeaning and cruel.

I cannot tell you how SAD these writers are when their exceptional works are ignored because some person has some “hot” news about Phil Berg or Obama’s birth certificate, or about any of the latest hot theories.

That is why we try — VERY HARD — to post several OPEN THREADS every day.

Other prominent sites also have readers scanning for an OPEN THREAD in which to post their off-topic news items or opinions. Besides the administrators on our site being the “cops on the beat,” our readers certainly can do some community policing as well, and bash (gently?) anyone who posts something off-topic in a topical post or diary.

If you see someone posting an off-topic comment in a topical post, send me an e-mail at susanunpc at gmail dot com. We’ll issue ONE warning in a topical thread. Then we will simply erase any off-topic comments. ERASE THEM.

– And now — without further ado — it’s YOUR OPEN THREAD! ENJOY! Talk about green cheese on the moon or the latest trick you taught your dog or what you think of Pumas or Phil Berg or Hillary or Bill or Barack or Michelle.

Hugs and much love to all of you, Susan

Hey, I saw someone get banned just the other day, and they weren’t even praising Obama. The moderator seemed to take offense at this person correcting someone else’s falsehoods about the role Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac played in the housing meltdown (according to the banned commenter, it was not a large one), because that comment was deleted and the moderator put a strikethrough on the commenter’s first post – also a fairly tepid comment not attacking anyone – with a nasty note telling them to get lost.

I thought that was exceedingly weird and Freeper-ish.

  • Amirosa

Susan, I am so glad to read your blogs again. I was truly missing you. Thanks for all you do, your blogs keep us a bit sane and hopeful.

Thanks, Susan. I hope you know how very much you, and all the amazing writers at No Quarter, are appreciated and admired!

Could you be more specific? I haven’t seen comments erased, or crossed through, unless there was racist, sexist, or homophobic language in it which is not tolerated here. Different opinions, yes. Disrespectful language, no.

Susan, it cannot be said enough: thank you, thank you, thank you for all of your hard work for this blog. Thank you for the support, kindness, and generosity you extend to all of the writers. What people see of you here does not begin to cover all of the behind-the-scenes work you do, the emails, phone calls, all of that. You are a gem!

I am all for good discussion, and I look forward to more of it as time goes on. We don’t have to agree on everything as long as we can agree to disagree with grace.

And a major thanks to Larry for allowing all of us to be here!

Susan here: Yes, please do let me know — think of key words or the person’s username, and I can search and see what we can do about it.

I hate to admit it, but sometimes I fail to think it through and make a rash decision. It was probably I who did that. I take full responsibility, but would like to correct it. Thank you. Forgiveness isn’t necessary. Let’s right this wrong.

  • http://www.marklevinshow.com/ Seattle Moss

    Susan,
I very much appreciate the community that you have built here at NQ.

Like the United States circa 1812 all citizens have a voice now. The media died this year and is being rapidly replaced by an alternate media where the individual has the same power of ideas as editors of the past..

Now every writer has the power to be First with an original idea and watch those ideas spread across the net.

  • http://noquarterusa.net/ NoQuarter

I’ve been here all along, just using other names. The ‘bots are determined to destroy me, but I cannot fathom why. I’m not that important…. which makes me suspicious it may have come from someone (I think you know who you are, and that I know who you are) who’s a selfish, mean-spirited a—h—e within a selfish, mean-spirited and rather sociopathic family environment.

  • Steve_in_KC

I prefer a little moderation of blogs/forums, and all too often blogs get trashed by trolls, or even the folks you thought were your friends. Some of the groups I’ve been in were much more tightly controlled than NQ, and trash-talkers were bounced completely out, or entire threads removed. Others like the free-for-all atmosphere of the smack-downs. Ugh. Not for me. Stomp the trolls, I say!

I agree with you, Susan, that many people seem to feel the need to attack or take on airs of authority against points of view that aren’t strictly confined to their opinions of what is acceptable in this space. While I’ve noticed that some old familiar names are not around lately, I’ve also noticed a lot of new names, and I like that. I wish more people would stop lurking in the attic and post their thoughts.

I fear that for many, it was always about campaigning against Obama or for McCain, and that is no longer germaine. So I guess those folks won’t be around, or are using different screen names now. Believe me, folks, there will always be plenty to talk about, argue about, and get pissed off about in the arena of politics and our culture.

Thanks for posting this. Right you are, here is a quote from the SCOTUS docket for the case of Leo C. Donofrio, Applicant v. Nina Mitchell Wells, New Jersey Secretary of State (emphasis is mine):

Nov 3 2008 Application (08A407) for stay pending the filing and disposition of a petition for a writ of certiorari, submitted to Justice Souter.
Nov 6 2008 Application (08A407) denied by Justice Souter.

That should tell you something about this place, me thinks.

I fear this place I used to enjoy is getting farther and farther removed from reality. Lately it seems the number of posts attacking Hillary far outnumber those praising her.

    I disagree.

I don’t think it’s the folks who were campaigning against Obama or for McCain who have left – they’re still here in great force as evident by the great number of “Obama is not a US citizen posts.”

It’s the rational ones who were always FOR Hillary but were never that comfortable being THAT against Obama or FOR McCain that have left.

    And it’s a damn shame.

  • KintheNorthwest

Susan I dont know how many times I have told people that that one should agrue the viewpoint not blast the blogger.
If you disagree with someones view or blog then state your reasoning, dont go calling the poster slanderous and vulgar names.
Most readers and blogers pass up most posts with name calling within the post. However a well worded and thought out post gets the attention of many more people.

Thank you Susan for all your hard work. I was once a monitor years ago and know that it is not an easy job.

Susan thank you for all that you do and for maintaining this site. I also like that you posted some clear “rules” to follow. I wish everyone would take a moment and read them.

Since this is an open thread, I’d like to ask those who are using this site for what appears to be a form of internet dating/flirting—would you mind leaving those types of comments in an open thread or better yet–exchange emails with each other? It’s kind of nauseating to read them within the context of some of the articles. I thought I was going to read comments on Bill Ayers earlier today, but got the dating game instead.

That Joe Conason reprint below is as good as it gets.

Conason has been a pretty solid performer for a long time. I can’t wait to see what he writes once the obarry admin gets underway.

  • snosandy

I’m on your side Seattle (another W. Washingtonian here).

  • Galt

You are unfairly overdramatizing and generalizing. It is not irrational to demand our president fulfills the requirements as set forth in Article 2 Section 1 of the USC:

No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

The source for all the concern lies squarely with Obama.

  • Galt

We don’t need your “help” as evidenced by your comment above calling people here irrational.

  • Randy

But not with Hillary or McCain? Neither of them were required to prove their citizenship, nor were the other 18 candidates for President. Nor was any of the past 43 Presidents. Not one has been asked to prove their citizenship to the American people.

    So why Obama?

It’s a distraction from the larger issues at hand IMO, and that is one shared by many of the rational posters who have long since left here.

You’re welcome to you’re own opinion and me mine. The Obama citizenship thing is an enormous distraction and you’re all nuts for getting caught up in it.

  • I’m a Linda too

Thank you Susan. I’ve often said the same thing about the writers here, “wow, they are good. I wonder who they really are”. lol

I’ve noted that top comments and saddened too, but I think so many times they are agitators and not regulars. Or Obots. I wish we could take them away, but we can’t.

So many times I’m left speechless by the writers and I don’t know how I can add to their information packed posts, so I don’t even write a comment, because I fear at posting a meaningless less comment, like a chat room and I don’t know how NQ prefers it. Maybe next time I’ll just say “thank you for the great post”.

Thank you all NQ writers for making such a great and informative community.

  • POdVet

As many others have said…Thank You Susan, and Larry for this unique place! I too stumbled across this blog several months ago while doing my homework on the candidates. The thing that keeps me coming back, and I fervently hope never changes here. Is dissenting opinions are not only allowed unlike DKOS and HuffyPuff. Here they are encouraged as long as they are backed up with facts not just pundit talking points. NQ aspires to do the job our MSM has thrown away in it’s hunt for ratings and their “personalities” next book deals. I’d rather find out the facts and be proven wrong, than have 1000 other automatons echoing what I say if it’s BS!

  • Randy

It’s your “with us or against us” mentality (which, I might add, you share with our 43rd President), that is going to be your downfall as well as the downfall of this blog if Susan and others don’t do something about it.

Did you even read this post?

“We need to be more open these days. If someone writes a criticism of Puma people or Hillary Clinton, or if someone writes something complimentary about Obama, LET THEM! Argue your POV, but don’t bash them. In some cases, they are very correct. I wish I could say more, but it’s best I don’t.”

I called those who have gotten carried away in the Obama citizenship issue irrational because I think they are. I didn’t tell them to leave or insult their intelligence – I just think it is irrational to be spending so much time and energy on an issue that is irrelevant to the issues we face as a nation.

I fail to see any evidence that Obama was not born in Hawaii and is not a natural born citizen. I’m not one for conspiracy theories – I’m one for rationality.

  • WildChild

it’s a constitutional requirement to be a natural born citizen. When the question is raised, there is no excuse for not providing a verifiable answer.

  • hadenough

My 2 cents: Today, right now, is there anyone more qualified than Hillary? I don’t think so. I like Holbrooke and I bet he might have gotten a good look for SoS if the primary was not stolen. Hillary could be the best pick for us. And it is about us.

  • susan

    Susan,
I hope you’re feeling better. No Quarter is just not the same without you.

  • standard

It’s always great hearing from Susan.
    I have a suggestion:
No Quarter desperately needs to expand to an open format like Mydd and DailyOrangecrap.

These formats lend themselves to interaction and more participation for all, and become addictive.

Otherwise, I fear that the bloggers here will dwindle, since the goal to defeat Obama has vaporized.

  • Mr. Natural

And for good reason. Have you seen what’s happened to the stock market? I’ve bought GE at the bottom – five times now. Pretty soon I’ll be selling apples in the street.

  • WildChild

The burden of proof is on BOBO. He’s the one who ran for president

  • lark

I just don’t understand something. I just don’t understand it. This obsession with keeping posters on topic with the thread article. I don’t understand why the writer would complain about it. I don’t understand why their feelings are hurt when people post off-topic stuff. Why would they care? Why care about having a neatly carefully scripted list of comments? I don’t understand why the editor would want to control people by requiring them to write within the topic. Is it so important to the writers to get appreciation notes, great article compliments, agreements and accolades. I don’t understand it because what’s the use for so much agreement that the article is perfectly square with the perfect line of thinking and the perfect opinion.

I personally enjoy others, everyone. I appreciate the writers and can’t express my deep appreciation for their talent and desire to contribute to my betterment, and what they represent as leaders of this community, but then I look forward to what people have to say.

To me, I differentiate between an writing that is a day or two old and a comment that is an immediate reaction to theme, idea or concept. I like the intimacy of the immediacy. I like to look out as see and I like what I see, everything.

    I like everything.

    I don’t like the past.

I like the present and the future.

  • Randy

But so did all those other people and none of them had that burden of proof.

    So why Obama?

  • http://www.marklevinshow.com/ Seattle Moss

    I love apples..Washington apples…

Every apple in the state uses a packaging product that I make.

  • Ani

Actually, Hillary’s birthplace could be proved and was never in question and McCain actually plunked down his original birth certificate.

There should not be a double standard here.

Obama should have to produce his authentic COLB — if there was no problem with it, then why the months of stonewalling?

It seems perfectly silly to me and he is creating smoke as if to indicate there is indeed a fire.

  • Galt

There you go again, calling not only people irrational, but now “nuts” for exorcising their rights.

Read Obama’s books. He created the confusion about his eligibility and people started asking questions.

As far as the distraction issue goes, this issue will be resolved one way or the other soon enough. We should not fault people who want the USC adhered to. This is no “distraction.” And we certainly should not call them irrational or nuts for asking valid questions. If Obama is sworn in and later it is determined he was not qualified to be President, that would be a disaster. Its better to nip this in the bud now.

I’ve said this before: I don’t see the lawsuits succeeding, but applaud people for standing up for what they believe in. And I could be wrong! The Donofrio case is scheduled for conference at the SCOTUS on December 5 (see my comment above). This is very serious. We’ll see!

  • standard

Be happy you didn’t heed Cramer’s advice & buy TRN at $23 (it’s now $12).

with the exception of McCain, the question wasn’t raised. In McCain’s case, when the question was raised, he provided a verifiable answer.

  • Ani

You know, Randy, those here who do not want to see Hillary as Sos have one reason and one reason only:

The do not trust Obama and do not want to see Hillary give up a Senate seat only to be used as a scapegoat for Obama and then fired, thus probably ending her political career.

He has not shown himself worthy of trust and has demonstrated a staggering ability to throw very worthy people under the bus without so much as a backward glance.

We are very much in touch with reality, I can assure you and I do not appreciate your dismissive comment.

  • BushCheneyTreasonTrialNow

unfairly over dramatizing? sorry but I have to agree with Randy’s post. How many times on this site do we have to read a few (or one particular’s) posts about how Dems and liberals are at fault for everything and how they have ruined this country? Or how (same author) posted how liberals just want to “scrape Sarah Palin’s uterus” ?

The people who post here now, are not the posters who were here way back in the beginning, long before this election season. and THAT is what is a damned shame imo. Welcoming freedom of different opinions is fine, but wow it comes with a cost.

  • http://uppitywoman08.wordpress.com Uppity Woman

Justice Thomas? Ohhhhhhhh this could get good. Especially considering Obama said at that Religious “debate” that Thomas is the one Supreme he would not have selected. Heh.

  • Galt

Randy, you called people irrational and now are trying to back peddle. Good luck. ;)

  • Randy

But what would be a verifiable answer for you. You already claim the President-Elect of the US forged his Certificate of Live Birth. So why would you believe it if he released his long form birth certificate. You’re telling me there wouldn’t be people out there examining it and claiming it was forged and there were discrepancies, like with is COLB and is Selective Service card?

You believe what you want to believe.

I still question why Obama is the only candidate who you think needs to prove he is a natural born citizen to the American public. Why not Bush or Bush or Carter or Reagan or Nixon or Dukakis or Mondale or Clinton or any of our other Presidents.

Because you’ve created a conspiracy theory in your head and you will never let go of it. Like us landing on the moon or the Kennedy assassination, all the proof in the world can be released and you’d still claim there were unanswered questions.

So why should he respond to you. It would just start an avalanche of inane requests. So now you have is long form birth certificate, but you demand to see his itinerary from his Pakistan trip. He says he doesn’t have it and you say it’s because he took the trip with a Kenyan passport. Or, he proves it was taken with his US passport, and you move onto the next distraction.

It’s never ending. You’re always going to believe what you want to believe.

So it’s a waste of all of our time for you to keep complaining about it when there’s serious shit going down for real Americans throughout this country.

  • Randy

I don’t think calling someone irrational is an insult.

There are two types of people – rational people and irrational people.

IMO, rational people require facts and statistics – real evidence, before they start jumping on the bandwagon of some conspiracy theory. Irrational people will jump at any conspiracy regardless of whether it is actually rational.

It’s not insulting you, I just simply said that many of the rational people have left this blog, because it is nearly impossible for rational and irrational people to have an actual argument.

I will never think you are right unless you show me evidence that Obama is not a US citizen. You will never think I’m right, regardless of whether there is real evidence that Obama is a US citizen.

You really want me to believe that if Obama released his long form COLB and let you inspect the original even, that you would drop this whole thing? I doubt it.

It was probably inevitable for either rational or irrational people to take over this blog. It’s just sad for me that it had to be the irrational that did so, because it makes it a hell of a lot harder for me to stay here.

  • Randy

But why was it raised with Obama and no one else when the man was born in Hawaii?

  • WildChild

I don’t claim anything other than that the BOBO has to prove he is a natural born citizen. Most of us do that with our birth certificates. His original birth certificate would be nice, but even so the courts are ultimately going to have to decide what constitutes verifiable proof.

  • hadenough

Also, multiple Democratic sources say billionaire Chicago businesswoman Penny Pritzker is Obama’s choice for commerce secretary.

The sources say she will accept the job, which would be formally offered after vetting is complete. Pritzker ran Barack Obama’s record-breaking fundraising effort, serving as the campaign’s finance chair.
    http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/11/19/transition.wrap/index.html

Penny Sue Pritzker (born 1959) is an American business executive, and a member of the Pritzker family of Chicago, one of America’s wealthiest families. She is currently Chair of Classic Residence by Hyatt, a chain of luxury senior living communities spread throughout the United States, and the national finance chair of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign. Ms. Pritzker is estimated to be the 135th richest person on the Forbes 400 list of “America’s wealthiest,” with an estimated net worth of $2.8 billion US.

  • Randy

As I said before, it’s because he knows as most of us do that producing his long form COLB would not stop most of you from claiming he is not constitutionally fit to be President.

You’d just find a new reason to, and you already have. All the stuff with his step father and Kenya, etc.

At would never end. Don’t kid yourself.

    Randy says
“It’s the rational ones who were always FOR Hillary but were never that comfortable being THAT against Obama or FOR McCain that have left.”

The campaign is over for these folks. They’re done with politics. All media after elections suffer huge drop off interest.
The people who are left at blogs and other media have a genuine long term interest thus improving the quality of information and allowing for a tighter nit focused community or organization.

Thanks to Larry, Susan and the regular front page contributors.

I’ve donated (not nearly enough) cash to this site and ask others do as well.

NQ stands out for its lack of bowing to the cult of ANY personality, including the authors. It’s about the issues.

What I don’t want NQ to become is single issue, single character love-fest. I don’t want to read just what I want to read, but reasoned arguments based on sourced material. Can’t back it? Don’t post it. There’s a Cheeto bag, Memo or Lily Pad in a Marsh near you if that’s what you want.

My biggest blog pet peeve is the “Race to the Right Margin”…meaning that petty back and forth ego-ping pong in the replied comments that accomplishes nothing. And this includes the insipid polite trolling by “regulars” who fill up pixel space with personal mind vomit that also accomplishes nothing.

On a lighter note, it seems most of the rabid obot trolls and those “just here to cheerlead for the Republican candidate and bash all Democrats” are gone…or deleted.

I would like to see a way to verify that the comments posted are from those people who have long used that moniker. There’s been more than one person who seemingly jumped the shark at some point, leading to some needless friction about who they “really” were/are.

    NO BS.
    No Quarter.

Obama is not a [natural born] US citizen.

To my knowledge it has never been in doubt be for now.

Galt is correct. The ball is in BO’s court…several of them.

That’s what happens when one tells bold face lies.

Randy, as you say it was a distraction and a very un-necessary one from the standpoint of wondering why he did not put them to rest.

Let me ask you this. Can you tell me with absolute authority he is as he has represented, a natural born US citizen?

Also, would you clarify, if the Constitution, in your opinion is where the buck truly stops?
I ask because if BO is not a natural born US citizen what would your attitude be?

We all have our own priorities and for many people ,in this context , it is that the Constitution of the United States that is to be defended.

So in that light it is not personal and BO has had many opportunities to EASILY dispel this “notion” but runs the other way. Why?

It’s called bandwidth…or more precisely, not enough of it (at times) for the hit count that NQ has generated. That’s why Larry’s hosting bill each month is now more than most people’s (foreclosed) mortgage.

There is no way to know exactly why traffic changes on a blog. I do think it safe to say since the “election” is considered to be over (eligibility concerns aside) that would be a good reason for a major drop in interest and traffic. What would be a fair comparison maybe is pre-primary traffic versus post-election. I’ll guess this blog makes it well and will continue to do pretty well.

  • detractor

I’ll tell you why I think the whole birth certificate thing is nuts and strains all credulity – it’s not because the state of Hawaii has confirmed that he was in fact born in the state, though that doesn’t hurt – it’s that everyone who assumes there’s something there is also assuming that the Republicans didn’t check it out.

Seriously, now, how likely is it that there was a huge disqualification against this guy as they fell further and further behind in the polls, and they never looked into it? That isn’t how these kinds of things work. The litmus test on these wild ideas is whether or not you ever hear them issue from an opposing candidate’s mouth. From time to time you’ll hear an opponent slip up and say something that makes them look foolish or nutty – but on stuff this big, they don’t do it unless they have proof in hand. That’s why you never heard McCain calling Obama a Muslim. In fact, that’s what I told numerous people who were convinced Obama was a Muslim because someone on their church email list sent them an email claiming it was so. “Oh, really,” I’d say, “if that’s true, why isn’t John McCain saying it? I mean, if it was true, that would be all he would have to say to win the election. So why isn’t he saying it?”

Stuff that doesn’t pass the simple logic smell test turns out to not be true at least 99% of the time. Kind of like those model airplanes of death the Bushies warned us about way back in the fall of 2002. When someone pulls something that outlandish out of their rear, it’s a tip-off that they don’t have really good solid evidence, because if they did, they’d go with it instead.

    Q.E.D.

On Wednesday’s Mark Levin Show: The free market is not to blame for the bailout mess that we are in – it is Congress and the government. From the housing crisis to Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac, to the recent automobile bailout – the government gave loans to people that weren’t able to pay them. Mark goes through a systematic analysis and explanation of what went wrong as he officially declares that the New Deal is now dead. We have subsidized our country to death, and the market is responding to the socialism that people like Barney Frank and Chris Dodd are making it to be. Finally, Mark says forget all the bailouts – society can not function the way that it is currently heading.

Susan when you were posting on KOS — the behavior of the bots toward you because of your support of Hillary Clinton scared the hell out of me. If I noticed an article by you — I’d try to neutralize the bot’s attack. Then I couldn’t handle the poison of that place — and left.

The bots followed Susan here — and I’ve got a couple of screen shots of their intimidation — they ARE out to “get” Susan. Her concern is not paranoid.

I watched the Obot thugs in the caucus — these thugs are really and truly dangerous people. The young ones were shaking with rage — their non-verbal body language scared the hell out of me. Their behavior was over the top — and frankly it was pathological. If I had ever seen this sort of behavior when I was working as a group facilitator I would have been required to follow through and warn about the potential dangers these people posed to others.

These Obots are far worse than the bush-bots of 8 years ago — and I never thought I would ever make such a statement.

I’m glad that Susan has alerted her neighbors and doctors that she has been threatened. It helps to be living in a rural area — few homes don’t have guns — and people KNOW how to use their guns (which we cling to and sleep with every night.)

My training is in the mental health/behavior sciences — but frankly I don’t like crazy people. I prefer the company of animals — so I study animal behavior, and I’m an artist. But the training never goes away.

This is a common courtesy since so much work and thought go into writing these informative and well-thought out articles. Each thread is like a classroom of sorts in which issues are discussed and debated. This is why trolls are so annoying because they disrupt the flow of discussion.

After the GE, many of us are still venting from it all, so it’s great to see more opportunities arise for open threads.

You know, when volunteer writers spend 3 to 4 hours — sometimes more, crafting and researching articles to put up here, it is not too much to ask that (especially) the first comments on the thread not be about something totally unrelated.

I thought of that agrument many times as I read all the posts about the BC.
It seemed like the more I tried to say how crazy it all sounded the more I began to wonder just WHY Obama and the DNC has not and will not address the issues pertaining to his citizenship.
How often have people been duped in thinking that if someone else does not feel that way then it must not be true.
Its time America woke up and ck’d some of the fine print in Obama’s life.

Hey it just might be that Obama was born in Hawaii or that his parents lied about him being Barry Soreto an Indonesian citizen on his school papers. But what ever the answers the Thousands( I think its over a million) of people deserve an answer with veriable proof.

If questions like this had come up about Romney, McCain, Palin, and ???? and they didnt address them or addressed them fraudulantly I and the rest of the media would be all over them too.
Everyone else within the federal government has been overly vetted, yet everyone seems afraid to fully vet Obama..
So I Ask WHY Is Obama not being questioned?

Is it racist to want to know about the man who is to be President of the United States.
Is it racist to expect that Obama have the qualifications he expects of his staff?
Is it racist to have Obama veted/research the same way Americans expect anyone who has access to America’s top secrets.

If it is then I guess Im a racist.

It is extremely difficult for us to give up science since science and the Greek form of thinking is what have made us. The astronaut goes up to do her space walk and looses her tool bag. Something so unexpected. Millions were spent in getting her there and to get her to do that which was the reason for the trip. Just a slight misattention and misapprehension changes so much. A slight miscalculation of minuscule proportions but the whole rest of the operation is compromised.

The super-computers that are built by IBM and placed in government service to keep the economy under control are major accomplishments. Every bite and pixel is under control. Yet, who can control the character for honesty and truthfulness. A slight lie or deception to oneself or others an a whole concept of economic freedom is compromised with dire consequences. In the Bible there is only one rule for commerce, honesty.

One can expect solutions to pop out from intelligent human beings, but can we expect honesty? Without honesty I don’t think we can make it. Mark Levin, he gives me the impression that he is honest.

You need to get educated on the BC issue. Hawaii says there is “a document” there. They have NOT confirmed ANY of the information on that document, nor CAN THEY because it’s illegal for anyone but Fraudbama to do so. It is perfectly plausible that Fraudbama was born in Kenya, and that his mother filed a COLB in Hawaii on her arrival there. Again, the people who poo poo this stuff really should STFU unless and until they themselves SEE the document. If I SEE one, and it’s REAL, I will let it go. But this will not go away on its own. More lawsuits are filed every day. We have the RIGHT to know who the hell Fraudbama is. Anyone who doesn’t think so needs to read the Constitution. Period.

Randy…you keep talking about Obama “being born in Hawaii.” How do you know that? Have YOU seen his BC? No, because NO ONE has. So you can rant on about it but the bottom line is that McCain IMMEDIATELY provided LEGITIMATE documentation when asked. That makes him Presidential and honest in my eyes. When someone who is already shady as hell like Fraudbama hides behind his Hamas defense lawyers, and filed motions to dismiss, rather than JUST PROVIDE THE DOCUMENT there is something wrong. Thank GOD for the people who are pursuing this. But it’s a free country, for the moment, and people have the right to dissent without you calling it “irrational.”

You are referring to me. And I guess it’s only okay to blame Bush for everything, as your username states. Some of us have the right to be outraged at the dems who pocketed all that money and refused regulation. That’s just the facts. Period.

As for the Sarah Palin comment, please put it in context. The discussion was about a bunch of so called “feminists” who hate Palin because she did NOT abort her special needs baby. I find that repugnant, as any decent person should. Just as I support the choice to abort babies, gay marriage, etc. my point was that Sarah Palin ALSO had the right to “choose” and not be attacked for it. My comment was figurative, not literal. Like I said, please keep it in context.

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Again, get educated. Hawaii allowed, at that time, people to register births from other places. If you read, you understand that it is likely that he wasn’t born in Hawaii and the vital records department would have just allowed Stanley Dunham to fill out a COLB, which is not the SAME as what YOU think a “birth certificate” is. That’s not good enough. If he’s legit, then why doesn’t he hand it over to the courts? That’s the thing you bots can’t explain. WHY? If he’s got a real one, SHOW IT. No one really cares, in the scheme of things, what you think of it. That doesn’t make Alan Keyes, or any of the other litigants comfortable and they have a right to do what they are doing.

Can you prove that as a legal fact? What evidence is there to say you are correct? As a matter of record, one can’t say with legal certainty what hospital he was born at in Hawaii, never mind Kenya.

You are missing the point. It is not about BO, it is about the Constitution.

What, just because it has not come up before it doesn’t matter? You are mistaken if you are under the impression that it is about BO.

We have had unqualified POTUS’s before and we will in the future. We have had presidents break the law ,lie, cheat and steal and act in all manner of debauchery.

So what is the difference you ask? They were qualified according to the Constitution to be president, beyond all doubt and showed no reason to think otherwise.

    BO? Not. WHY?

Maybe someone should ask Mark Levin what happens in a poker game when one guy has all the chips. He can loan them to the other players to keep the game going a bit longer (as in the mortgage meltdown) but as soon as they lose those chips, too, it’s game over.

After Levin explains that, perhaps he can explain how a capitalist consumer economy can continue to function when the wealthiest 10% of the populace own 70% of the wealth and assets while the poorest 40% own 2/10ths of 1% of the wealth and assets. Seems to me that you can’t have much of an economy when half or close to half of the participants don’t have any money to spend.

Last of all, Levin should explain why he continues to oppose the only two tools that exist to curb what Adam Smith called the inevitable trend in capitalist systems for all wealth to concentrate in very few hands, which as we’ve seen, leads to the end of the game – those two tools being progressive taxation and higher wages.

After Levin explains, logically, why all of the blindingly obvious problems in the economy actually aren’t problems at all, perhaps I’ll give a little weight to whatever else he has to say.

In short, I’m not holding my breath.

  • TeakWoodKite

This would be a disaster. And I voted for McCain. It would make us look like fools around the globe and reinforce the notion of racism as the motive.

The guy has to govern. He has to fall from grace on his own accord.

Anything else will make him a martyr.

And he deserves that role least of all.

  • Galt

I posted this link up thread:

    http://origin.www.supremecourtus.gov/docket/08a407.htm

The Donofrio case has gotten past the gate keeper Justice Thomas and is scheduled for conference on December 5 at the SCOTUS. It is on the docket. Go look for yourself.

  • mimi

Well I want to go on record as blaming the siamese twins Bush/Cheney for

    EVERYTHING!

  • JM

This is a silly argument on your part. Is it not possible that Obama has caused his own problems? Has he not written about his own personal history? It seems to me that the reason why other presidents did not have people asking about their birth certificates is that there was no obvious reason to do so. Obama producing a valid birth certificate could have and would have stopped this birth certificate talk months ago, but he suspiciously chose not to do so. Obama seemed to have answers for every other controversy that involved him, but the birth certificate situation is different. Something is not right concerning this, and it needs to be investigated until it is resolved.

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Kind of shows what you think of America, huh? It’s in front of the SC for a conference. They’re apparently not laughing as you claim. Again, read the documents. It doesn’t matter how many people dismiss, the suits will keep coming, more and more and more people are getting involved in this. And it’s getting MSM attention slowly. Like I said today, whether or not Fraudbama can actually buy and pay for Supreme Court Justices is to be determined. The right thing to do is to compel Fraudbama to show the document, just like McCain did. Any other decision will just make more people file suits. The best part will be when the glassy-eyed FOOLS who voted for him start hearing about it. I had a young girl at my house today interviewing to be my dogsitter. We talked about this for an hour. She knew NOTHING about Fraudbama and all of this nonsense. If people KNEW who Fraudbama really is they NEVER would have been stupid enough to vote for him. And, by the way, SHAME ON YOU. Your loyalty should be to this country that has kept you safe and sound and protected your rights and freedoms. Really. Shame on you.

  • Galt

Actually they are triplets: Bush/Cheney/Opampers now. ;)

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Thank you JM. I, and others, are struggling to protect several of the amendments to the Constitution that Obama already has plans to do away with. But I really take it as a personal slap in the face as an American that he won’t comply with the simplest request – like I have to when I get a Driver’s License, etc. My GOD he is trying to be President of the US. This is just really bizarre and frustrating.

  • JM

Well that shut him or her up.

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

LOL Mimi. I really enjoy your posts. But, come on, how can you blame Bush for Freddie and Fannie? Be fair.

  • jayne b

    Susan:

    I have lurked for a while…

In the interest of mending election fences, perhaps NQ should consider extending a peacemaking hand to some former writers/contributors who seemed to have disappeared in the heat of whatever election moment, such as fleaflicker, Pagan Power, Vet, TexasDarlin, NancyA, and others.

This would be in the true spirit of your post, and would improve your blog. The team of writers you have now are great, but it’s shrunk in size thus diversity.

  • Galt

I share your frustration. We’ll see if the SCOTUS wishes to remain relevant and will protect Article 2 Section 1 of the USC:

No person except a natural born Citizen, or a Citizen of the United States, at the time of the Adoption of this Constitution, shall be eligible to the Office of President; neither shall any Person be eligible to that Office who shall not have attained to the Age of thirty-five Years, and been fourteen Years a Resident within the United States.

Based on what has transpired to date, I have my doubts they will do anything. But just maybe I will be proven wrong?

  • JM

To add insult to injury, I read that Obama’s paternal grandmother in Kenya said that he was born in Kenya, and she was at the hospital during his birth. My understanding is that she has now clammed up and will not discuss this anymore. Interesting, don’t you think?

  • KintheNorthwest

But what is on the certificate? That is the question….Plus, why was he registered as Barry Soreto an Indonesian while in Grade School if he was an American? (Did his parents lie or did his step dad legally adopt him?).

  • detractor

“On the docket” means they will hear the case and rule on it. They haven’t said they will do that.

Every year, thousands of cases are referred to the SC. They actually hear only a very small percentage of them. Most of them they turn down outright. Most of the rest they informally discuss and such discussion takes the form of “lacks merit, denied” or the like. Just because the nuttiest of the right wing nuts on the court – the one justice, in fact, who has never written an opinion for the majority – agrees to put it up for “discussion” doesn’t mean that “discussion” will go beyond a majority of the justices saying “we’re not going to waste time with this.”

    Don’t get your hopes up.

  • mimi

“If Obama is sworn in and later it is determined he was not qualified to be President, that would be a disaster. Its better to nip this in the bud now.”

    I disagree.

Taking him down will begin the anarchy predicted if he had lost. I actually don’t think that was going to happen.

    But it would now.

The honeymoon is not over with this guy. We must let it play out.

Congress has the power to correct anything in order to restore any chaos that might erupt if he was sworn in.

And frankly, it would be viewed as a set-up.

They wait until AFTER both Hillary and McCain were defeated and then this?

    Sorry, but I can wait.

You people are determined to make this worthless empty suit a martyr.

    Please don’t.

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

I’m shocked that people like you exist. We have a Constitution and one way or another Fraudbama will obey and uphold it. You obots and your boss are not above the law.

  • http://deleted Buzz Latte

Pagan Power’s website is gone also. Sad.

Agreed. It would be great to have those mentioned above back to write from different perspectives as before.

  • detractor

Oh, and one more thing – the topic of the “discussion” has to do with the lower court’s ruling – in this case, a ruling that said the plaintiff lacked standing. So even if they were to agree to hear the case (odds of a thousand to one), the issue under debate won’t be “Barack Obama must produce his birth certificate” but “did the lower court incorrectly rule that Donofrio has no standing to bring this case”?

Sorry to disappoint. That’s how the system works, though.

  • JM

And one other point, I am a moderate Democrat. If the lefties within the Democratic party are screaming about the George Bush and his trashing the constitution, then what will they say when they find out that Obama, by knowingly running for the presidency, blatantly defied the constitution due to his possible status of not being a natural born American. I suspect that he has had citizenship in at least one foreign country.

  • detractor

Calm down, Mary. I’m just explaining SC procedure to you. If you don’t like the way they do things, take it up with them and convince them they’ve been doing it all wrong for the past 200+ years.

  • Galt

    Don’t get your hopes up.

I’m not. But the case is far from dead in the water. What should concern Opampers is the SCOTUS might choose to exert itself to show they are still relevant.

I’m not banking on this case. As I have stated I don’t think it will succeed but do support the effort.

This is way out of our hands. The SCOTUS does not care what bloggers think, thank god.

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Well troll, we’ll keep working on it. Like we have all said, this country was founded on DISSENT. It’s wrong that Fraudbama wants to perpetrate his fraud on America and one way or another it will stop. God bless the people who have the love of country to pursue it. Like I said, I don’t know what the courts will or won’t do. I’m just thrilled that every day more and more people learn about Fraudbama, what a LIAR he is, and how stupid they were to vote for him.

  • JM

I usually agree with your posts, but I don’t quite agree with this one. If it is proven that Obama was never legally eligible to run for the presidency, then his supporters only have him to blame for betraying them. The facts are the facts. Obama knows his history, and he still decided to run for the presidency regardless.

I don’t pretend to know what Obama’s citizen status is, but again, if it is found that he should not have run for the office of the presidency, his supporters can only blame him.

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

I am perfectly calm honey. Just concerned that this is a serious issue that people like you want to bury.

  • TeakWoodKite

    Why re-invent the wheel?

“Our writers are brilliant, talented people who have excelled”

The details and analysis in the stories confirm this. Some I have printed to be able to read and get all the details…almost like reading an article in an academic journal.

Thanks NQ. (and rw, of course)

  • detractor

Just curious, but is everyone who explains facts to you that you’d rather remain ignorant of a “troll”?

  • Galt

I see some facts, but not everything you have been stating are facts. You are sharing opinions.

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Uhhh…I tried to explain “facts” to YOU and you didn’t listen. As in the difference between what YOU consider to be a “birth certificate” and a COLB in Hawaii. You said “it was good enough for you that Hawaii says it has some sort of document.” I find that odd. Usually intelligent people are curious and pursue truth. Therefore I suggest troll. If I am wrong, sorry. But there are a lot of trolls here. I just can’t believe something this serious would be taken lightly by a real American voter.

  • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

This is a very cool place. I think it would be really great if everyone gave SOME kind of donation tonight. Whatever people can afford. Let’s all do it so we can keep coming to our home.

  • detractor

It is indeed a fact that the State of Hawaii says they have the original birth certificate on file showing that Obama was born in Hawaii. That’s a fact.

It’s also a fact that informal discussion on the part of SC justices doesn’t mean a case is “on the docket” or that they will hear or issue a ruling on it. And it’s also a fact that if they do issue a ruling in this particular case, it will be on the issue of Donofrio’s standing in the case and whether or not the lower court incorrectly ruled that he had none.

Those are all facts – inconvenient ones, for your purposes – but facts nonetheless. Sorry to disturb your fantasy.

  • Galt

Obama supporters are trying to downplay the issue. And there was one here calling us irrational and nuts. We fought them good, FRAUD. As I said somewhere else in the thread the SCOTUS doesn’t give a rats ass about us bloggers. If I was Opampers, I would be very concerned they may choose to exert themselves to show relevance. And getting sworn in does not guarantee protection from further litigation. I did agree with detractor on not getting my hopes up. But that does not mean I don’t have an interest in seeking justice.

I think you are right JM. I also suspect that he had Indonesian citizenship which is the one he is REALLY trying to cover up by admitting the Kenyan one. I think that’s because Indonesia doesn’t recognize dual citizenship so Fraudbama would have NO American citizenship from what I have read.

  • WildChild

i see you have a tendency to go insane hat boxed into a corner. LOL the right fringe did the same thing so don’t go feeling all alone or anything

The more I hear about that place the more thankful I am that I never allowed myself to get caught up in it. Several of my friends were posting over there and tried hard to get me involved in that and MoveOn. I got bad feelings at KOS from the beginning. I went to MoveOn for awhile, but lost interest in it.

I like being able to look at, read both sides and make my own decisions. I’m a firm believer in, “There are two sides to every story and the truth lies somewhere in the middle of both.” One of the reasons I love this site so much is because we’re not expected to drink the kool-aid from either side. We’re allowed different viewpoints.

Thank you Susan for the post, and I sincerely hope the Obama supporters will give you some peace. I know that wreaks havoc on you not only mentally, but physically.

  • detractor

Oh, so now “inconvient facts I can’t refute” = “bot stupidity”?

Hey, I hope for your sake, this Donofrio finally succeeds at his windmill-tilting and gets some court to hear his case and the original birth certificate proving birth in Hawaii is produced.

Not that it will convince you of anything, but good luck with that. But you seriously need to get over this BS of proclaiming that everyone who explains something to you that you don’t understand or want to understand is a “bot”. Eight years of that crap has been more than enough.

So anyway, the infighting on the blog is to be expected. Just remember to put a plastic sheet overhead to protect from the flying turds. ;)

Alan Keyes along with the Independent Party has now filed suit in Sacramento against Obama. He’s saying that Obama is not constitutionally qualified to receive CA’s electoral votes. I have no idea what evidence he is using or has.

    Quote~

Keyes served in the U.S. Foreign Service, was appointed Ambassador to the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations under President Ronald Reagan, and served as Assistant Secretary of State for International Organization Affairs from 1985 to 1987.

Keyes earned his PhD in government affairs from Harvard University in 1979, having written a dissertation on Alexander Hamilton and constitutional theory, under Harvey C. Mansfield.

Actually, I just said it is not about accolades. Truly, I could care less. There is a huge difference as I write above, between accolades and at least for the beginning of the thread to have a discussion RELATING to the topic being written about. I personally find what people have to add very enlightening and always look forward to reading the comments for that reason as I learn from them as well, even when I am the one writing the inital post.

Please tell me what does that have to do with asking for accolades?

And by the way, that is certainly not the reason I write — I am a little disappointed you would make such a comment. Surely, as you know better about yourself, you must know better about the writers here.

I also don’t get what’s so offensive about going off topic once in awhile. The NQ writers all do an outstanding job, and I appreciate their efforts which I’ve posted here before, and more importantly said it with my pocketbook ($100 so far–not much but it’s not a few bucks either). I don’t think I need to post accolades to every writer and every thread. For starters I don’t have anything near the time to read all of the articles here. If there were maybe just a couple/few posted a day I might be able to read them all. I’m lucky if I can read one or at most two per day.

I really wish there was an edit function to fix little spelling errors and typos, but that’s just a trivial technical suggestion.

  • Galt

Its coming on the super early 8AM delivery. Mangia!

  • doesnotsitatthepopulartable

Maybe consider keeping these off-topic comments, whether for friendship or not, to the open threads per the request of Susan and clearly one of the main points of this thread. Believe it or not, some of us come here to read the actual writers and the comments by readers related to their story.

And as Susan stated, “It is unconscionably rude to post off-topic comments below their stories. It is demeaning and cruel.I cannot tell you how SAD these writers are when their exceptional works are ignored because some person has some “hot” news about Phil Berg or Obama’s birth certificate, or about any of the latest hot theories.”

Please just try and keep this in mind as there are many individuals out there who do not care about your love life. It appears that those of you who come here for friendship are the ones who extensively abuse this policy.

  • Galt

Just skim over the people who irritate you. That’s what I do.

Gosh Susan, you are amazing! Thank you for all the work you’re doing. Thank you Susan and thank you Larry for providing this wonderful site for us to rave and rant and air our opinions. That you have done the terrific job you have given your health is incredible to me. I am more than appreciative of you, Larry, and all the wonderful writers. Thank you all – every one of you!

  • Snickers

Well Mimi, I always love reading your posts and usually agree with them. I don’t this time. I think it is more destructive letting someone defraud the US populace, the laws, and the Constitution. I don’t have any faith left in Congress to do the right thing. They haven’t done much of the right thing for a while now. Like Galt, I’m not optimistic about the Supreme Court suits, but there is a small kernel of hope that they might do the right thing and uphold the Constitution. If Barry is a natural-born citizen then why has he failed to prove it? Come on Supremes, I’m rooting for you!!!

Hmm–the Bill Ayers thread was not an OPEN THREAD–I suggest you go and check. Also, can you possibly reply to anyone without resorting to name calling? Once again let me point to this article in this thread when Susan stated, “argue your POV but don’t bash them.”

What is your point of view-I can’t get past the name-calling? Because I ask you to follow some simple guidelines by the moderators of this site, I am now White Trash? And an Azzhole? Do you think using a “z” instead of an “s” makes it no less offensive. How old are you? No wonder you are here looking for friendship. I suggest you and “your friends” create a NoQuarter Yahoo Group and leave this blog to the rest of us who are not looking for emotional companionship.

Also, go back and check your records–”Domestic Terrorist Bill Ayers on NPR-Fresh Air” was NOT an open thread. Do us all a favor and stop being the biggest HYPOCRITE on this site. As for this being a “hard time in life for ALL OF US” I suggest you seek some psychiatric help. You are clearly a loose canon.

    you’re all nuts for

Exactly the kind of personal attack Susan was talking about. Knock it off.

  • AnninCA

I think it did everyone good to blow out the pipes, so to speak, on the blog yesterday. This note from the moderator is also excellent.

Trolls are very specific type of interference from posters. They aren’t just everyone who happens not to agree with your perspective. :)

But, in any case, it’s been a long, tough election. We’ve ended up with some strange bedfellows, for sure. And that’s bound to bring up conflict.

I look forward to when I think Rush is full of beans again.

  • AnninCA

It’s frustrating for some of us excited about discussing the actual topic, too.

  • stodgie

yes i agree. i enjoyed many of their comments. the thought comes to mind that they may be burnt out for now. i have some of the same feelings.

  • beebop

I don’t know what it is you have with that word, WC, but I know that I am not the only person who would appreciate it if you would select another one that is less toxic.

My sister is a special ed teacher. I learned in a classroom immediately next to a classroom for special students. We just had a vice presidential candidate with a special needs child. Can you find something not so associated with ignorance about people born with health problems with no fault of their own?

“He’s ignorant” is just a thought.

  • stodgie

i have to disagree with you. it is clear you didn’t take a long hard look at these other blogs.

  • beebop

Mark Cuban has fallen out of the news … what’s goin’ on in Big D? When it was Martha Stewart, she couldn’t turn around without a camera bein’ shoved in her face … was it because she was prettier or just because she was a well, she?

  • AnninCA

speaking of logical fallacies……generalizations are rarely true.

Not ALL rational people have left.

    :)

    (Sorry, couldn’t resist!)

  • stodgie

i don’t think the repubs will let her through.

  • DawnelleTIREDofSPIN

And he deserves that role least of all.

    yes I quite agree here

  • AnninCA

Ditto. But for conspiracy theory lovers, everyone was bought off, you know. They are all in cahoots!

  • AnninCA

Actually, think about it. That’s simply untrue.

Otherwise, any stranger could walk up, claim your kid is his.

And YOU’D be force to provide DNA evidence to the contrary.

    That’s not how it works.

Nobody is required to address nuisance lawsuits.

Which is why they usually are tossed out.

Hmmm…Cuban is in a bit of SEC trouble…But his obnoxious mug was front and center last night at the Rockets/Mavs game…We shall see what develops…chuckle….I hope that Yahoo ( in the Gullivers travels sense…) Gets what is most likely comin to him…chuckle…

  • Idiocracy08

    Yeah, I’m still here.

  • AnninCA

Except, he doesn’t have to answer to you.

  • elise

Unfortunately, I agree with you mimi. In a hypothetical situation, if he actually has divided loyalty and there is a problem in Kenya, how can we know he will act in the best interests of the US? Or suppose the truth would make him vulnerable to blackmail? Another question; if it could be proven he is not eligible, would Article ll of the Constitution be changed to allow any foreign national become president? How many presidents have we had since James Monroe who had a parent who was not an American Citizen by birth? How many have had not only a father, but a stepfather as well who was not a Natural Citizen of the US? How many have had two legal names? How do we know he is indeed Barack Obama and not Barry Sorotero? Did he just decide on day to adopt his biological father’s name or go to court and change it legally? If he didn’t legally change it, will our new president be, in reality, be Pres. Sorotero? If he signs bills into law using Obama, would they still be laws if it is discovered he is Sorotero? Bizarre, isn’t it?
