Welcome Back! [UPDATE]

UPDATE: People are asking that their rights be returned. I am making decisions based on their statements that they will work hard to make civil comments. This is done without ANY regard for their position against or for Barack Obama. Barack Obama is not qualified to be president, imho, but he’s going to be president and we all need to rally to save our country. Trust me, we’ll criticize if he drops the ball. Today, we posted several pieces criticizing Obama. But I refuse to be as thuggish and belligerent as the Obamabots. We’re better than they were. Perhaps if we behave better, they’ll learn a thing or two.
………………………………………

Slowly (ahem), but surely, I am adding back many of the readers who wrongly or rightly were placed on moderation or banned during the heat of the election. If your rights haven’t been restored yet, or you’ve not received a reply from me yet, give me a bit of time. We had many fires to put out last night and today, and I’m just getting to them.

One of those readers is Undercover Black Man, who wrote this lovely note:

The Democrats keeping Joe Lieberman around… that’s nothing. Larry and Susan have just welcomed me — Undercover Black Man — back into the comments section at No Quarter! Truly a new day has dawned in America.

I first came to this blog with the express purpose of baiting, mocking and scorning PUMAs. (Hey, it was free entertainment.) I got banned several times when I crossed the line into incivility. But a funny thing happened over the course of time. I couldn’t stop coming and reading. There’s a conversation going on here that I want to be a part of… even if in the role of dissenter. (more below)

So thank you, Larry. Thanks, Susan. Campaign ’08 was a rough storm that tossed all boats. It sometimes brought out the worst in folks. But let us move forward as Americans engaged in the great issues and problems of our time.

Now, some of you won’t like what UBM writes, but we’re all trying to practice civility here, as much as we can muster.

Let’s pretend our grandchildren or children might be watching as we type.

Well, that’s not much fun.

Let’s see … shall we try to pretend that we’re the opposite of the goons at Daily Kos?

  • wodiej

well now that UBM’s candidate won, he’s going to be civil now?? Isn’t that convienent.

    • Galt

I think you mean “won.” His presidency is illegitimate and I will never forgot how my sacred vote was made meaningless by criminals. Yep, I ain’t jumping on the unity bandwagon. They wanted to cheat their way to victory, so the disaster they “won” is all theirs.

I will enjoy watching Captain Trainingwheels pilot the Titanic into the abyss as I enjoy cocktails from the deck of the Carpathia.

      • bob

Do you have a passport? I’m having trouble getting one. I don’t wanna be around when Obama and the Dems destroy America. I speak a little Russian though. If Russia buys America maybe I should stay.

        • Galt’s Pizza Parlor

I’ll be in international waters when it sinks.

Yeah, you are having trouble getting a passport and a knucklehead can become president without proving eligibility, it seems.

        • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

You should probably only stay here, Bob, if you speak Arabic. Otherwise, get the passport. Maybe you should call Fraudbama and get a lesson on how to forge vital documents.

        • Mr. Natural

Russia can’t afford America. Oil is back in the $40s.

      • SFIndiePUMA

May I join you for a drink on the Carpathia deck, Sir Galt? Watching the Titanic sink into the abyss will make such a lovely visual, and how nice to be able to share it with like-minded people!

        • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Does Galt make fancy drinks with those little umbrellas in them? If we’re going to get all cozy and watch the SS Fraudbama go down I would like a Pina Colada!

          • Galt’s Pizza Parlor

I’m a passenger on the Carpathia I think? I guess I can serve pizzas and drinks with little umbrellas in them. :) Sure, why not. Tosses a life preserver out into the sea as I toss a pizza with the other hand….

          • Ferd Berfle

We get the damn ship of state off the reef on the far right and Captain Polyester steers us towards that iceberg on the far left. Is there no one who can steer anymore?

            • PKJayne

I’ll be on the LIDO Deck sipping Mojitos.

              Yes I Will!

              • Ferd Berfle

I may join you, might as well enjoy the sinking.

            • PKJayne

ferd cheers to you! It is so nice to see you back!

              • Ferd Berfle

It’s good to be back, PK! I have to remember to take my Dramamine–this is going to prove to be a bumpy ride.

            • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Oops Galt, I guess I just get so used to you feeding me that I didn’t realize your passenger status would preclude you doing so.

              “Captain Polyester?”

              ROFLMAO

              • Galt’s Pizza Parlor

I just switched to crew status. ;)

                • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Awesome Galt. What a party it’s going to be on the SS Fraudbama. Whooohooo….

            • RebelCarol

Nope, the sane ones all jumped ship.

      • Cubs in 09

        Galt, you’re a riot!

    • Steve1

I hear you. Now let’s play nice, after we all called you racists, liars, sore losers, after we stole the election, primaries and to some extend the general. Let’s overlook all of Barry Soetoro’s faults, lies, cheating questionable associations, taking illegal funds from foreigners, sexism. Hey let’s make him an historic president. Well he already is, being the fist supposed Black prez…I still want to see his original BC? Now “can’t we all just get along.” Remember Roe vs Wade, now shut-up and lets join the bandwagon.

      My thoughts exactly.

Hey UBM, if your candidate had been insulted and mocked repeatedly in the blogs AND the media in racial terms with complete impunity while Hillary was treated as some deity who could do no wrong would you consider a “civil” discussion possible with her supporters?

If your candidate had been falsely smeared as a bigot after a life long record of service to minorites would you wish to engage in a “civil” discussion with those who slandered and demonized him?

If you and others who supported Obama were repeatedly insulted and ridiculed (without having started it) in the vilest terms that included racial, socio-economic slurs would you consider it possible to have a “civil” discussion with those very people and “come together” with them?

If Obama had received the most votes of ANY candidate in primary history and a quarter of a million MORE votes than Hillary but the DNC gave the nomination to Hillary instead would you believe the nomination was stolen from your candidate? Or would you say “we’re all democrats. Let bygones be bygones”?

If 5 states violated party rules by holding their primaries ahead of schedule and the 2 states where Obama polled well were penalized but the 3 states where Hillary polled well were forgiven would you accept it as “teh rulez” and embrace Hillary?

If the DNC broke more than a couple of strict rules of the party charter to favor Hillary (including stealing delegates won by Obama and giving them to Hillary)and block your candidate at every turn would
you “get over it” when Hillary supporters told you to stop being a “sore loser”?

If there was PROOF that Hillary was giving money 3 to 1 to superdelegates would you consider she “bought” the superdelegates endorsements?

If there was PROOF that Hillary was accepting millions in illegal donations from overseas including from anti-American countries but the media was protecting her would you believe her when she spoke of “change” and “hope”?

If Hillary sat a “Euro-centric” church for 20 years listening to a preacher that blamed blacks for all of societies ills but was again given a free pass by the media because she claimed “she never heard that type of language at the church” would you believe her?

Would you really consider Hillary and her supporters your fellow “democrats” if that had been done to YOUR candidate and his supporters? What kind of human beings would you consider Hillary’s supporters to be if the above mentioned was done to you and Obama?

Would you have any respect or faith in us?

Do you think you would forget and “come together” with us and “make Hillary’s presidency a success”?
Would you feel mollified if we told you “oh don’t worry, Hillary will find something for Obama to do.”?

Would you consider us “civil” people if Obama and his supporters had been treated and cheated by us?

Don’t bother to answer me. Reflect long and hard on all of the above and then honestly answer it to yourself.

      • Galt’s Pizza Parlor & Boating Supplies

Never going to happen. He’s permanently orgasmic from “winning” his symbolic idol, be damned the consequences and dire price to our liberty.

        And great comment!

        • catherine

I agree based on his comments further down. He’s disenchanted by the Left but glad that a black man “won”. Can you imagine the kind of name calling and accusations of stupidity we women would get if we said we were not impressed by a party but happy that the candidate of that party won merely because she’s a woman???

          Oh and then UBM writes
“But to answer your question… the Johnson Administration and its civil rights legislation earned the loyalty of black voters for decades.”

Yeah, well black voters apparantly threw a fit when that klans woman Hillary made the factual observation that it was Johnson who passed the Civil Rights Act. Yes, MLK spearheaded the movement but without having someone in power willing and able to put it into law it could not have been possible garnered her more “racist” smears.

              • danny

Wow, this post really got through. Especially this part: “I refuse to be as thuggish and belligerent as the Obamabots. We’re better than they were. Perhaps if we behave better, they’ll learn a thing or two.”

And this part: “some of you won’t like what UBM writes, but we’re all trying to practice civility here, as much as we can muster.”

                go civility team!

        • Sally

I agree…great comment! Other than that I’m still speechless.

        • /www.youtube.com/watch?v=ibsP6XN2dIo&eurl trixta

          Excellent, catherine!

      • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com Undercover Black Man

The problem, catherine, is that if this blog — or its commentariat — devoted itself to rehashing the political battles of the past year, as your comment does… what reason would there be for anyone but a few to read it?

Larry and Susan are trying to figure out how this blog can speak to America’s present and its future… not to stay stuck in the immediate past.

The North reconciled with the South.

Black South Africans reconciled with the whites.

The future is made by those who lay to rest their grudges.

        • catherine

The “victors” always lay aside their grudges don’t they? Perhaps because they have none.

UBM, you have no conscience. If what was done to Hillary had been done to Obama you know perfectly well his supporters would NEVER forgive or forget.

I have never forgiven or forgotten what Bush did in FL in 2000 nor will I ever forgive or forget what Obama did this year …who like Bush counted on cooperation from the media (the heirs to Goebbels not Cronkite).

But karma is a law that can be delayed but never out run. Like Nixon and Bush Obama too has a very big debt that Hillary and her supporters will live to see him pay.

          • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

catherine…you are right. And this is a poster who called EVERYONE racists and wasn’t so pleasant to us before. Now he can come here to do what? Gloat? Insist that we all bond together and sing Kumbaya over that FRAUD OVomit? I don’t HAVE to put OVomit’s criminal activity behind me. I have to continue to expose him, continue to fight for my country, my freedom, my FLAG, my CONSTITUTION, my PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE, etc. because now we have an America hater in the White House. If this site has become a pro-OVomit site, then let Larry and Susan compete with the Daily Kook for bloggers. Ughhh….This sucks.

          • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com Undercover Black Man

Victors have no grudges? In what war has that ever been true?

I have a grudge about the Larry Sinclair smear and the “whitey” tape… but I will never mention either of those things here again. Because they have nothing to do with today or tomorrow.

The battle was the battle. This is peace and reconciliation time.

            • catherine

Hahahaha. Oh how “noble” and magnanimous of you to not hold a grudge over two items that were NEVER MENTIONED OR USED AGAINST OBAMA IN THE MSM.

Oh yes yes, now I recall how Olbermann, Matthews, Campbell Brown, the NYT, LAT, Wolf Blitzer and the Washington Post “reported” and commented on Larry Sinclair and the Whitey tape non-stop.

You are a big man indeed UBM to “get over” the media’s persecution of Obama.

Captain Ahab: Speak not to me of blasphemy, man; I’d strike the sun if it insulted me. Look ye, Starbuck, all visible objects are but as pasteboard masks. Some inscrutable yet reasoning thing puts forth the molding of their features. The white whale tasks me; he heaps me. Yet he is but a mask. ‘Tis the thing behind the mask I chiefly hate; the malignant thing that has plagued mankind since time began; the thing that maws and mutilates our race, not killing us outright but letting us live on, with half a heart and half a lung.

            • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

No such thing as peace and reconciliation. What Fraudbama did to this country, and continues to do, is despicable. And we’re just at the beginning. He’s a horrible, evil, lying POS and he doesn’t belong on the WH. With all due respect, that “peace and reconciliation” nonsense would NEVER come out of YOUR mouth if Fraudbama had lost (which he DID lose the primary, but dang that caucus fraud). You would STILL be here talking about what “racists” we all for not putting your black man in the WH. Give me a break.

        • Ani

It is good to see you back here. But I must also tell you, while I do not wish to live in the past either – it is very convenient for the side that got what it wanted to say, what’s past is past, stop harping on it, or “rehashing” it.

The ends do not justify the means and there were some great injustices that happened this year. The misogyny certainly does not qualify as something that people should just forget about – if they do — it will continue.

Fraud is also something that requires further investigation so that it, too, does not remain endemic in our political process.

I am all for moving forward and will look to stay relevant in every way. That, however, does not mean not holding someone’s feet to the fire for the wrongs they have done.

Certainly NoQ will do everything to be on top of all things current and call it like we see it — and also give credit where it is due.

It is a fine line — but likewise it would be disrespectful to those that fought for something honest to pretend it didn’t go down the way that it did.

        • http://www.rabblerouserruminations.blogspot.com/ Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy

Um, no – the North did NOT reconcile with the South. The North occupied the South for some time after the Civil War, which was not particularly appreciated by the citizenry.

Many Southerners still are treated disparately, assumed to be both racist and ignorant for the “sin” of being from the South. Being a Southerner going to grad school in NYC was an eye-opener. People who had never even known an AA until college looked down their noses at me, even though I grew up around AA people my entire life, and was sponsored for ordination by an AA church. There has long been a sense of superiority by the North over the South.

For that matter, folks in Charleston, SC still refer to the Civil Was as “the recent unpleasantness.” Or, “the war of Northern aggression.” So, no. The two are hardly reconciled.

Considering that even the best of a randomly selected group of Obama voters think it was probably Palin who made the 58 states goof, I conclude that a fraud has been elected by mushrooms: people kept in the dark and fed horsecrap by the media.

wodiej, It’s a good sign UBM has returned to nq. He has seen there is something of value and we have an opportunity to debate and try to convert him to our view some vetting needs to be done. When I unsubcreibed to Huffpo after they had refused to post my comments, I sent an email with the observation they were removing debate from their site which is, ultimately, unproductive. Nothing can be gained if you shut out an opposing opinion. Besides, I think Gault really loves auguring with trolls. It keeps barbs coming.

I’m glad that Undercover Black Man is engaging in dialogue. If I could pose a respectful question, it would be the following. With so many in the African American community taking socially conservative positions, why do 90% or more routinely vote for liberal Democrats with extreme positions on abortion, and other positions contrary to African American values?

    • http://cinie.wordpress.com Cinie

John, did you notice that Undercover said something about “pretend our grandchildren are watching?” Those of us in the black community are heavily influenced by our grandparents for many reasons. Our values are often set traditionally by them. Young people living and growing up in today’s world often have to reconcile their traditional upbringing with their contemporary influences. While my answer is by no means definitive; church, grandparents and tradition have a lot to do with younger black Americans’ worldview. In a sense, it’s no different than any other community’s ethnic and cultural clashes. A majority of Catholics voted for Obama, too.

    • JudyR

Yes, that’s a really good question. I’d like to hear some answers to that, too.

    • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com Undercover Black Man

Hey John. I actually have a nephew who’s a Republican — socially conservative, Christian, family man, corporate guy — and he voted for McCain. Although he says he was undecided until he got in the voting booth.

Before Obama came on the scene, I was convinced that the wave of the future would be blacks shifting in ever-increasing numbers to the GOP. The black blogosphere is percolating with many proud conservative voices.

I am disenchanted with the Left myself.

But to answer your question… the Johnson Administration and its civil rights legislation earned the loyalty of black voters for decades.

Obama is crooked as Harding, as economically disastrous and anti-Israel as Carter, as cold and paranoid as Nixon and as duplicitous as Bill and Hillary Clinton put together. I hope his Presidency keeps Democrats out of power for 28 years and becomes a national joke.

            • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Hope LOL…I think that’s what the GOP thinks. Let the Dems have Obama and Cogress and screw it up so badly that this country won’t want another Dem in power for generations. I hope they’re right. The only way people learn that they can’t buy the Presidency is if it fails miserably. Next time they can listen to the voters.

        • mimi

I disagree. LBJ is one of the most overlooked presidents.

He inherited all of JFKs shit.

He had to govern in a time of growing transition of American society.

He stood up for what was right regarding Civil Righst whereas JFK vacillated over signing the Civil Rights Act and the was killed.

LBJ should not be put in the same class as Bush.

          • Sally

yeh he fucked up Vietnam…LBJ is just peachy great!

Hey UCW what do you think about all the war hawks or pretend war hawks that Obama seems to be appointing? Is Biden really running the show or did you guys get played? I hope in 4 years that Obama isn’t more hated than Clarence Thomas by other AA people. Please tell us again why did the media sell us Obama?

    • Galt’s Pizza Parlor

With all due respect to the admin: I don’t have a problem with letting the race baiters and other assorted malcontents back. But I do object to the additional fanfare of an entire thread devoted to this, considering the pounding we took from them. Obviously, I am free not to be here and will evaluate how this new embracing group hug (puke) thing plays out. All I can say is thank god I can turn off this computer and don’t have to interface in the 3D with some of the people I’ve met online.

You know…I’ve been doing alot of that myself! It helps allay my terror of the mounting upcoming Gestapo attack on the American Citizen/middle class…not to mention the pending destruction of everything a real American holds dear and swears to uphold (not mock): the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Our only recourse is to come together to Boycott ANY and ALL companies, medias, politicians conspiring against us….the usual means of political representation IS DEAD.

To you cops out there….I hope you are seriously contemplating what your “NO SIR, I WILL NOT OBEY THAT ORDER” threshold is. If not, you better start.

        • Galt’s Pizza Parlor

Let them in, but don’t offer absolution as if nothing happened. I think I understand the strategy here. The admin thinks this will help us to get over what happened. Perhaps, but at this moment I think most of us are not ready to forgive and forget. This might take a lot longer than anyone thinks. It may never happen for some of us. I think it was enough last night when it was announced the banning was being lifted. They should have just left it alone and not put up a Welcome back banner. Puke! OK, I’ll shut up now.

I’m with you. For me this whole thing is about what this country stands for and it isn’t Obama. So I don’t give a rats ass how many trolls or semi-trolls come on here, (and we have one), no one will convince me Obama is right for this country. I got a clear glimpse of what Obama stands for when we heard Rev. Wright. That was it for me.

    Nice to see you back!

    I predicted the
    Obama Crash

75% of business owners rejected Obama because
    Obama is BAD for Business…
    Self Fulfilling prophesy

Nice to see the Clinton’s back.
Obama’s main strength is his community organizing skills.
Obama has reached out to the 56 million who voted against him.
I’m encouraged by the rapid cabinet placements with Hillary and Bill playing a large role.
Foreign policy and security are my main issues despite the collapse.
Hillary will be a great SOS at this dire moment.

    • http://undercoverblackman.blogspot.com Undercover Black Man

      Hey Seattle. Thanks for welcoming.

I think Obama’s main strength, apart from delivering a speech, is putting a team together. I have my concerns about Hillary as SoS… still think her ideal role in the life would be Lioness of the Senate (post-Teddy-Kennedy).

Hard as it is to ignore the cable-news speculation derby, I’m willing to wait to see the announcement of a stellar Cabinet. (With nary a Muslim, Marxist or black liberation theologist.)

UBM – Hmmmm….”putting a team together?” You must mean “putting the CLINTON team back together.” LMFAO. I’m not sure what part of this you would consider Fraudbama delivering on his “Hope” and “Change” promises. Looks to all of us like the Chicago Combine dirty machine back in action. Nope, none of his real friends like Farakhaan, Wright, etc. have jobs yet. But of course Ayers et al will probably just advise him from the sideline.

        • danny

The campaign team he put together was incredibly effective. (I know you don’t approve of them for myriad reasons. But they were effective.)

Hopefully he’ll be able to put together a team that’s similarly effective at governing and creating some progressive changes.

Just like bank robbers are “effective” at enriching themselves by “succesfully” taking what is not theirs through illegal means.

        • danny

The allegation was (and is) thrown around that Obama would turn the government and the nation Muslim/Marxist/Black Liberation-ist.

If there were any basis for that idea, wouldn’t you expect to see some of [whatever group] in his appointments?

      • warehouse553

Her ideal role would be President which she deserves and earned not a consolation prize!

      • JEva

        Hi and Welcome Back,
I agree that Clinton could be very effective in the Senate as a majority or party leader. But here is the problem for Clinton. In the Senate, the senority system determines chair positions on powerful subcommittees. Several weeks ago when Clinton asked Sen. Kennedy to head a committee on heathcare, she was flatly denied and accused of attempting to “leapfrog” over other Senators who had served more years in the Senate. I respect the rules and procedures of government but I thought it was ironic that Clinton would be chastised for seeking a position based on her lack of experience in area of government. If experience is not the main qualifications for determing the president, then why not revamp chairmanship system of the Senate to allign it with the other branches of government. Let the chair position be based on other qualifications such as expertise and abilities.

I know Kennedy finally asked Clinton to assist on healthcare but it looks likes she will be Obama’s SOS.

seriously though, when I am chilling with my koolaid quaffing friends, and colleagues… and my AA friends and colleagues neighbors and fellow citizens are so proud, happy even, and really, there is something lifted off of them that I did not know was there before, but now its gone, I can see that it was heavy…. so very heavy… and while I want to rejoice with them… and I am thirsty for that fellowship, and the koolaid looks inviting, then I remember things that damaged me, and now there is something heavy on me. At this point in time it is apparent that the world financial train wreck cannot be prevented by the ‘miracle worker ” history is loaded with false prophets and in 4 years those of us that are still around if asked in the year 2012 “are you better off now than you were 4 years ago?” The answer in 2012 is we will be far worse off collectively and Obama will most probably be in the political doghouse if he is still president. In my opinion he may be under indictment for several charges prior to 2012. After saying all of this I , for now put my self in the camp of loyal opposition , I truly hope for the best from BARACK OBAMA , but I don’t think that all of Pr. Clinton’s men and women can put this nation back together again. time will tell . The honeymoon may be short and not sweet. i am cautiously relieved by Obama’s selections so far . I am never giving him a pass for his prior transgressions or the transgressions of his associates. But no one is beyond redemption and Barack Obama is no different. Time for us to be realists and work together to encourage moderation in Obama’s choices and to help guide him from our internet 4th estate. Go to work people!

      And on the that point;

Mr. Johnson, when you said, “Barack proved, again, he is neither smart nor courageous.”

Hey, I say, if you’ve got something to say, say it. But be intelligent; don’t be a moron, or an adolescent about it. Welcome to the discussion.

So, here’s something I think is noteworthy, regarding Clinton as Sec/State [which I don't want her to take, because this administration will be a disaster, I promise you]:

    November 20, 2008
    Hillary and Obama
    Clarice Feldman

Like Steve Gilbert of Sweetness and Light, I’m beginning to think Obama discussed the Secretary of State slot with Hillary because he felt he had to — but he really doesn’t want her to take it.

His camp has certainly been the source about the need for her to repay her campaign debts first and emphasized the onerous restrictions such an appointment would place on Bill. In fact, they seem to be blaming Hillary for the leak about her possible appointment.

Today there’s more: Senator Reid’s already hinting of a top slot on health policy in the Senate for her if she doesn’t get Secretary of State or doesn’t take it.

Did Reid think of this himself or did the president-elect beg him to do this?

    http://www.americanthinker.com/blog/2008/11/post_137.html

I think some of the reason traffic dropped off here is due to the server change. I was locked out for days even after clearing my cache. Access issues and posting problems have been common of late.

The “big event” is over and many of us are burned out from all the tension and drama this year.

Those of us who watched the whole hopey-changey spectacle unfold from the pro-Clinton side of this year from hell do not have to pretend to be the opposite of the kos-goons. We ARE the anti-kos.

I will wait for karmic revenge: a dish best served cold – by God. Vengence is mine, sayeth the lord.

And Hillary will prevail, somehow, someway. She earned it and she paid more than her share of dues.

The violent response to disagreement is a classic response from those operating under hypnotically implanted compulsion that they cannot rationally explain.

  • http://www.deathofthedemocraticparty.com xax

One of things I learned throughout the election is that you can not judge a person in the most simplest of forms. That everything we think about a person is informed by what we know, or better yet are WILLING to know or find out, about a person. So there are those who think Obama is the solution to many problems and there are those who think he may actually exacerbate the problem. (Me.)

People will still continue to feel how they feel about Obama. I think it’s important for those coming back into the fray to understand. And I honestly can’t blame them. To me I think the guy is typical of MANY, MANY politicians in that he doesn’t give a damn about you and only cares about his political career. When he needs a vote he will pander to you and if you choose to buy it.. well we all know the phrase “buyer beware.”

While we are all Americans, we will not agree. In fact that is the very nature of our being. We will not hop the unity pony and ride off into the sunset. I still don’t like the guy; I don’t agree with him and that won’t change in the future. I will not lie to myself, nor will I lie to you. I can say if he does something right, it will be acknowledged. I managed to do the same thing with Bush when he did things right, and I don’t like him either. And there were some things Bush did that were right, and no I’m not a Bush apologist. (He kept the economy going after 9/11, he cut taxes across the board- it wasn’t just for the rich it’s a myth, and despite the problems of NCLB, at least he started to HOLD PEOPLE ACCOUNTABLE which is VERY VERY IMPORTANT.) Of course feel free to disagree.

Honestly, that’s all I can say that I will do. I will still have my beliefs, viewpoints and morals. Although, I am HIGHLY sarcastic, I do not hold myself above anyone else. (And as a disclaimer, I might kirk out every now and then- just so you know.) It’s Larry’s blog and he can do what he wants. Just do not expect anyone to change.

    • Ani

      Xax,

I still don’t like him either and I also do not appreciate people I feel only pander for the sake of their own careers. For the sake of our country, I’d love it if he found a higher purpose, since this is the course we are stuck with at the moment.

But he is going to have to prove it. Unfortunately, everything I have witnessed from him and his campaign thus far has proven just the opposite. And that is painful indeed.

That stated, I always give credit where it’s due. I’ll be watching. As I am sure you will be.

      • Ferd Berfle

Kum By Ya my Lord, Kum By Ya (I’m not really feeling it:-)

              Stop the hate!

Donna, I have missed you most of all.

    • Brian H

Is the new party line to be toed “Give Fungus Head a chance”? Sorry, my toes will cross that line without hesitation. It’s far too dangerous to “wait and see” what he’ll do.

Looks to me like NQ has just gone “Taylor Marsh”…..I guess they think they need the hits, of course look what happened to Taylor Marsh! Sorry, NQ, I will not drink the kool aid. Good bye.

imus, I don’t see how my mere presence inhibits you from expressing yourself full-throatedly. Must everyone here agree with you in order for you to feel at home?

      • TeakWoodKite

Undercover Black Man, it is not about you. As you point out, it is like the dinning room table at Thanksgiving.

        It is about the turkey.

C’m on give LJ and Susan some credit here!! Have you read all post today, yesterday, etc?

Trust me I run as fast as I could from Jeralyn@TL
      and Taylor Marsh.

LJ and Susan never waivered. What LJ is saying though is that we have now to live with BO as POTUS. Can’t fight him now –maybe by 2010 when he starts his reelection bid for 2012– but right now, this is the hand we were dealt. The country is serious trouble; things abroad ( Iran, Iraq, North Korea, Afghanistan) are dicey.

So despite what we know about BO, how he and his supported conducted themselves and what happened this election cycle, imho we need to take a deep breath and try to focus on the issues that are important to us and the country and make this a forum to discuss what’s the best policy, person, course of action, in the next 4 years.
If BO does sth. we agree with is good, then the better we will be. And if he doesn’t then this is the place to hold him accountable and record the wrong calls he makes for the next election.

And let’s NEVER forget to call on the the MSM: what they did can never happen again.

      Does it make sense?

No Quarer could be the right place for koolaid drinkers to get treatment.

I dunno, UCB, Larry is ex CIA, beware…

(I’m just fooling, Larry and Susan are wonderful hosts…)

    Peace.

    ROTFLMAO…

If Undercover Black Man keeps it civil then why not have him and other opposing opinions on the site. Otherwise, you end up with what we complained endlessly about: a giant echo chamber.

Can I forgive and forget? On the former, perhaps. On the latter never. I will never look at the Democratic Party in the same way. I will never believe in the MSM. I will never support the present [so-called] women’s movement with money, effort or lipservice.

But I have to say this:

As an American citizen, I don’t want to be on the Titanic. I still honestly think that Obama, the Pope of Hope, is going to disappoint a whole lot of people. The hype, the expectations have been overblown by supporters and media alike. He’s Lincoln-like, FDR-like, JFK-like? Pul-e-e-ese! Buyer’s remorse is almost inevitable.

But do I want him to fail miserably? No. I live here. I have children and one day I hope I’ll have grandchildren. If he needs to surround himself with seasoned Clinton supporters, with Hillary Clinton in the SOS spot, then do it. Bend Big Dawg’s ear, meet with the political opposition, track every competent, experienced person down. Do whatever is necessary to keep the boat afloat.

I’m not looking to drown or go down with the ship in some kind of faux heroics.

I’m still miserably disappointed with the choice, angry with everything that went down during the primary. But gleefully looking for political disaster? Color me silly but that seems self-destructive.

There will no doubt be plenty of stuff to discuss and analyze. My one pressure point: lay off Hillary. The nasty, mean-mouthed sexism is over. I’m way beyond my tolerance level. And if the discussion degenerates to that, I’m out of here.

What’s interesting is that I am so wound over the possible collapse of my life blood, General Motors, or its sister automakers, Ford and Chrysler, that all this other stuff, Obama’s history, associates, campaign tactics, et cetera, ad infinitum, seems absolutely trivial to me now.

The election is over, folks. L.J. has accepted it. SusanUnPC has accepted it. Many of the rest of you have accepted it. Accepting that simple fact does not diminish the validity of your questions or the legitimacy of your lingering doubts.

Our Nation is in serious trouble. Our Nation is tipping over the edge of a financial precipice. We’re already avalanching over the edge. Wall Street is one giant arterial bleed of our lifeblood, our money, our capital, our future.

This isn’t about Obama anymore. This is about you and your future, me, and my future, each and every one of us – our futures together and our ways of life as Americans.

We’ve got to find ways to pull together.

So for anyone with an IRA, a 401-K, a pension, investments, anyone, in short, who invested money or had money invested on his or her behalf:

That smoking crater now forming at the intersection of Despair and Wall Street – was your money.

You’ve got a choice. You can write your Congressman and tell them you support the car company bailout, good, bad, or indifferent, or you can kiss your money goodbye.

The Auto Company Implosion will be that big.

Wall Street’s voting, folks. It’s time for you to choose sides.

    Forgive? Never forgive!
    Say amiably that you forgive!
Convince heartly that you have forgiven!

    Then…..

So devastating is the effect, when at last you lunge and….
    Reach for the throat!

You know…I’ve been doing alot (being a recluse) of introverted activities lately–no TV, cancelled my WSJ TOO! It helps allay my terror of the mounting upcoming Gestapo attack on the American Citizen/middle class…not to mention the pending destruction of everything a real American holds dear and swears to uphold (not mock): the Constitution and the Bill of Rights.

Our ONLY recourse to PUSH BACK and keep our 300 year tradition, is to come together to Boycott ANY and ALL companies, medias, politicians conspiring against us…the usual means of political representation IS DEAD.

To all you cops out there….I hope you are seriously contemplating what your “NO SIR, I WILL NOT OBEY THAT ORDER” threshold is. If not, you better start.

  • socalannie

Susan, you’re so nice. Way nicer than a lot of us deserve. I hope you’re feeling better & I’ll try to be decent to the returning bots. Well, except for the one who called me a c**t several times & told me to do nasty things to some of the other nq’ers.

Actually, it’ll be fun to see some of the familiar faces from last summer return.

  • RedDragon62

    You are so right Sally!

Our Nation is in serious trouble. For the first time in my life I am actually wondering if tomorrow will bring a better day. I have begun to have sleepless night more so than during the election.

I NEVER liked nor do I admire Obama! There is NOTHING to him that would ever make me one of his converts, but I do love my country and if I have to swallow my bile for all things Obama in order to focus on my Country, than so be it!

But hear me UCB when I say this….

I will never forget what happened this year! Never will I forgive those of you that saw fit to call us out of our names because we pointed out how corrupt Obama is!

A man can live with Roaches but that does not mean he likes them!
