Uppity Under Cover! Big Three CEOs Have Completed Their Formal Bailout Plan

Copyright © 2008 Uppity Woman. All Rights Reserved.

moneyAs you all know, Nancy Pelosi has instructed the CEOs of Ford, GM and Chrysler to return to congress with a viable plan for the $25 billion dollar bailout money they have requested in a panic.

During their first visit with congress, it was very clear that either none of the three had a clue what they intended to do with the money or……..they just didn’t want to admit that they were going to use it to make payroll and maybe take a nice trip the the Bahamas or something. Modeling themselves after AIG, maybe a nice trip to England for partridge hunting might be in order.

Rep. Brad Sherman, D-California, asked the three CEOs to “raise their hand if they flew here commercial. Let the record show, no hands went up. Second, I’m going to ask you to raise your hand if you are planning to sell your jet in place now and fly back commercial. Let the record show, no hands went up.”

So you see, these three turkeys didn’t do very well on that begging trip.

Even Nancy, who would pretty much hand out money for a circus cockroach act if the presenter sucked up well enough and it meant a nice contribution to her next race, was unimpressed with the Big Three CEOs. But that wasn’t difficult even for a money groupie like herself. If any of you watched these three overpaid clowns on CSPAN, you know that their appearance on Capital Hill pretty much debunked the concept that ludicrously high CEO salaries and bonuses attract the Best and the Brightest.

Uppity decided to go undercover and dig deeper into the minds of these three honchos who make more money in an hour than most of you make in a year.

So Uppity tracked the three CEOs, Goniff, Finagler and Swindler, and notest that they went off to a special retreat together in Palm Beach for a little golf, a massage, a nice haircut, a bit of sailing, some new Italian silk suits from that cool tailor they know, and a couple of laughs over how their companies promised to make more fuel efficient cars back in 1980.

In between the Beluga caviar, cold cracked lobster claws with shaved-truffle butter, rack of Austrialian lamb and two of those remaining five bottles of Chateau Mouton-Rothschild 1945, Uppity can attest that they put their three Best and Brightest minds together and crafted their financial plan for the $25 billion. The result was a work of art which only three American multimillionaire CEOs could possibly produce between belches. This was a particularly difficult task for them to achieve in the absence of a large team of lower level faceless eager lackies hoping to get noticed, who actually do their thinking for them on a regular basis, while they hang out at the spa waiting to take the credit for good ideas.

I don’t mind telling you that Uppity was able to secretly infiltrate their meeting and partially record the fruits of their labor between their bashes with the girls in that special company executive suite. Uppity was particularly pleased when they took lengthy off-site breaks such as this, because she was able to set up her covert equipment and partake of the wine and lobster while they were gone.

As you can see below, they were indeed clever enough to craft a money plan that would work well for selected Congressional financial wizards such as Barney Frank of Fannie Mae fame.

Now see, if these guys would only listen to me they would have provided a Plan that Congress REALLY understands:

  • karen for Clinton for PRESIDENT not SoS

    Ha.

A Three Stooges video would fit as well.

    Why soitenly, nyuck, nyuck, nyuck.

    • jjsmoof

I don’t know who it was but i saw on the news last night a guy saying it was ‘delicious irony’ that the ceo’s flew in separate private jets to washington to beg for money. LOL. Hey Moe….

  • robert

This wouldn’t be a case of the pot calling the Kettle’s black would it? No, that would be racist.

    • Galt’s Pizza Parlor & Cat Herding Supplies

I understand your point but something interesting has happened. I care a lot LESS about watching every word or phrase I use, since being hammered over the head for months that I was a “racist” for stating a preference for another candidate not based on race, especially when many of those making the claim are basing their preference ON RACE themselves. In order for their to be racism, there has to be intent. And if anyone wants to call us a racist, they better make sure their own house of ageism, sexism, elitism, classism, homophobia and misogyny, etc. are in order.

      • Typewriterstreaming

I believe Uppity Woman might be interested in those cat herding supplies. I hope there are some fanciful treats in Galt’s jolly bag of goodies.
        :-)

      • Kal

Indeed, apparently exclusively on race, regardless of any other + or – factor!!

      • MikeEarly

Count me as one of ‘us’. Right on.

  • candymarl

    Perfect!. Excellent post. Thank you.

  • Touchet

Nancy pelosi is a power hungry wench. “Come back when you have a viable plan, becasue I SAY SO! Bwah ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaaaaa”

Give me break. I can’t believe this crap. She isn’t concerned about spending tax payers dollars, she just wants them to kiss her ass. What a waste of human being.

    • Reality not religion

      WOW-

    • It’s Not Me

What? You just want $25 BILLION handed over to them without a plan???? THAT would be INSANE! Personally, I want to know where they plan to spend MY money. If their plan is to give themselves a multi-million dollar wage and peanuts to their companies, then I want to know about it. Had Nancy NOT asked for a “plan”, she would have been ridiculed for THAT. Women just can’t win no matter what they do.

    • lark

I agree she is Mama bear.

      • Louie

She and Reid asked for a business plan, something every small business must present to get a loan from the SBA.

The CEO’s of the big three RUINED their companies; if I were to go the SBA and ask for money with those type of avoidable losses, I’d be turned down for a lack of management skills.

Americans who lose their credit rating due to circumstances beyond their control, ie, catastrophic illness, aren’t really given a second chance, these men feel entitled, the LEAST deserving, they are obtuse, a DISASTER.

They will run their companies right back into the group, same as with AIG…

        • Louie

into the ground, sorry, I was thinking burial…

    • Touchet

You guys just dont’ get it. There is no “business plan” EVER that is gonna make up for 25 billion dollars. Give me a break. If they had a business plan, it must have FAILED since the company is going down. This is all show to make you think that the companies are trying to do something.

the bottom line is that YOUR money is going to run businesses now instead of government. DUH. Why don’t you just right a check out to them. Cut out Mrs. Pelosi all together. Take her salary and give it to CEO. It amazes me how dumb americans have become. How many BILLIONS of dollars are we gonna sell out to these companies to pay for their CEO’s to fly on their private jets, shack up in 1000 dollar a night rooms at resorts, and live in their multi-million dollar homes with their jags.

DEE DE DEEE! Hello, george, i’ll just vote for you again, george, cause you know what your doing.

      • Louie

The US government invests it’s money in a lot of things, right?

        Even small businesses.

So, I disagree — if they’re going to invest in GM, whose survival can be of interest to the US government, why shouldn’t they request a sustainable business plan, with the idea the loan will be repaid?

        AIG, OTOH, was a clusterfuck.

  • I’m a Linda too

auhhh. Love Joel Grey. But I think we need his talents from Remo Williams on this one! :)

great post Uppity. Was Pop Nancy Pelosi? So anxious to give away money.

The reason Nancy P was famoushed and so unimpressed with the Small Big Spending 3, is she REALLY REALLY WANTED TO GIVE THEM THE MONEY, but couldn’t rationalize it the way things were going. lol

And, WAIT! This CAN’T BE. First O-shit! said he wanted to give 50 billion, not 25 billion that Congress was discussing and NOW, he comes out with his own plan regardless what Congress is working ON?

This can’t be….any other time people ask for O-shit’s position and why isn’t he doing something, he comes up with his newest vague talking point “there is only one president at the time”. SO SURELY, HE ISN’T TRYING TO MAKE THAT NOW TWO PRESIDENTS AND OVER STEPPING NANCY PELOSI AND REID? NAAHHHHH

Barry owes the auto industry and his sell out has to payback now and using our tax dollars to do it. I was amused over their same rhetoric on tv interviews. O-shit (shhh, not the real president that is only one at a time) discussed this even on 60 mins where he wanted “a bridge loan, not a bridge loan to no where” (auh huh huh huh). And then the Auto CEO’s give interviews, “we’re looking for a bridge loan”. SURE, this negates demands for restructure and changes.

Obama Team Said to Explore `Prepack’ Auto Bankruptcy (Update2)

By Linda Sandler and Jeff Green

Nov. 21 (Bloomberg) — President-Elect Barack Obama’s transition team is exploring a swift, prepackaged bankruptcy for automakers as a possible solution to the industry’s financial crisis, according to a person familiar with the matter.

…Bankruptcy is just one option being examined. Obama told CBS News’s “60 Minutes” on Nov. 16 that government aid to automakers might come in the form of a “bridge loan,” advanced if the industry could draw up plan to make itself “sustainable.” The president-elect earlier urged Congress to approve as much as $50 billion to save automakers, using the model of Chrysler’s bailout in 1979.

Startin’ to sound a lot like bills of attainder — big no no in so-called democratic legal orders and all….

  • Reality not religion

yesterday congress blasted these ceo’s showing up in corporate private jets that cost thousand’s for this trip.

it was pretty damn funny to see so many people in the house fuming over this-

I’m glad it happened. I hope they realize there’s another side of this issue and why many of us question the real need or correctness of this bailout.

    • PamelaofthePoconos

Declaring corporate jets ‘over the top’: perhaps Sarah Palin has indeed started something.

      • Reality not religion

I can’t say they’re over the top in general, but when you are going before congress to beg for billions for a bailout, it was just major stupidity on their part.

        and arrogance

        • beebop

They had a real attitude. When you know that a hearing is being televised, looking, oh, I don’t know, less like an asshole might work?

  • ihaventsleptin18months

I came across this link and found it to be one of the funniest and unfortunately possible things I have seen in a long time.

      Thanks for that ihaventsleptin18months…That’s hysterical.

PS I love your name. Me too!

    • lark

Definitely On-topic. A model for any and all On-topic curiosities that make my day at this place enjoyable. Yes, on-topic as on-topic can be. Thanks.

  • Kato

NY Times reporting that Hillary has accepted the SOS position.

    • bob

I thought they were waiting until after Thanksgiving?

      • Reality not religion

It was official about 2 days ago she’s taking/getting the job, but they are saying the verbal announcement will come after thanksgiving…

        for some reason!

        • beebop

Because there is enough neck wringing already going on and they want to save some?

This is not going to be pretty to watch.

This is just keeping both Clintons on a leash. imho

        • Galt’s Pizza Parlor & Cat Herding Supplies

That is odd, what you are reporting. Last ditch trial balloon to make sure the decision is not a disaster and can be changed? I can’t see any reason to wait other than that or???

          • Kal

Could be to give more time for debt payback, don’t know the details.

      • lark

Then lets call this Thanksgiving Hillary’s thanks-giving. Pre-post. Thanksgiving present from God to his heroine.

Now what will he give McCain?

  • melisa

    Hillary accepted the SoS!

    • Lorelai

I’m really glad about this. I think it’s definitely the right decision for her.

  • Tricia Spiegel

    Ha! Very clever Uppity.

I hope any bailout is linked to a bunch of serious riders, incuding finding some competent leadership to replace these people that has the environment, oil independence (as much as possible). and our people in mind.

    Uppity…

First you kill me with the Fraudbama commemorative nasty azz plate…

    Now, this:

Even Nancy, who would pretty much hand out money for a circus cockroach act if the presenter sucked up well enough and it meant a nice contribution to her next race, was unimpressed with the Big Three CEOs.

    ROFLMAO.

  • Sarracuda

Hillary has accepted the job. Good job Hillary, you are officially now the scapegoat for the Obama Administration

    • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

LOL Sarracuda…Hillary will have to share the title of “scapegoat for the Obama Administration” with Bush. That’ll make her happy.

      • Kal

But Hillary would have been the scapegoat anyway — at least this way she gets to pick something she personally thinks is good for her.

        She oughta know!!

      • Pennsylvania Red

I’m just surprised 0bannion hasn’t found a way to appoint W to all cabinet positions, that way he can continue to blame Bush for everything all through the next four years.

        • Northwest rain

Well GWB blamed Clinton for everything — and still does nearly 8 years later.

But I do believe we will see endless variations of blame GWB and Hillary in the next months and years.

I think that the dems are desperate for ANY agreement to dump money to the Big Three CEOs BEFORE the coronation of the 0-zero.

With GWB’s signature on this — HE can be blamed.

    • Lorelai

You shouldn’t be so pessimistic. This is a high-profile position for her. She has far more influence than she would have in the Senate.

      • http://www.wewillnotbesilenced2008.com OBAMA IS A FRAUD

Lorelai…Some people don’t look at this the way others do. There’s no “should” about how people think. That’s why there are so many diverse opinions here. Some people are horrified to see a woman get her azz kicked, abused, and then have to call him “boss.” And other people here, who are die hard Hillary supporters, will probably need a little more time before they accept that the job Hillary SHOULD have had was stolen from her through fraud.

        • MikeyEarly

          Well put.

  • Peggy Sue

Awhhhh. But GM has ditched two of their private jets in a show of good faith. I guess that’s suppose to show us how they’re “trying.”

This really is a clown show!

    Funny piece, Uppity!

BTW, news just in: HRC accepts Secretary of State! So, the rumors come to an end, and the progs will start to wail.

    Never a dull moment.

    • beebop

Ah … they only sold the old jets not the ones they big boyz ride on …

  • bemused

Uppity, you’ve cracked the Federal financial strategy with that first video. Who was that trying to talk to Pelosi and Reid?

  • Sarracuda

Like Hillary Clinton said during the primaries..

    CHANGE..CHANGE U CAN XEROX

    • lark

Since he stole everything from her, she might as well give him the original documents for him to add to his future library.

  • Typewriterstreaming

Uppity you are a major blast! Thank you for your generous gifts to us – lending of your wisdom and humor – your absolutely massive talent.

Check out this story on Yahoo finance “Former Regulator: Clear Fraud in Financial Crisis–Why Isn’t Anyone in Jail?” by Tech Ticker. This is everything I suspected & more

  • Louie

IF AIG fails, as do other companies, I would suspect the big three among them, how is the war affected?

AIG provides defense insurance, GM the vehicles of war, so, what happens to day to day operations?

    Does this mandate a withdrawal?

  • bob

First Lady, Senator, SOS, (VP) and SCOTUS. Amazing! Go Hillary, Go!

    • Kal

SCOTUS? Waste of great political talent, that one.

General Motors to Invest $1 Billion in Brazil Operations — Money to Come from U.S. Rescue Program

    By Russ Dallen
    Latin American Herald Tribune staff

General Motors plans to invest $1 billion in Brazil to avoid the kind of problems the U.S. automaker is facing in its home market, said the beleaguered car maker.

According to the president of GM Brazil-Mercosur, Jaime Ardila, the funding will come from the package of financial aid that the manufacturer will receive from the U.S. government and will be used to “complete the renovation of the line of products up to 2012.”

“It wouldn’t be logical to withdraw the investment from where we’re growing, and our goal is to protect investments in emerging markets,” he said in a statement published by the business daily Gazeta Mercantil.

Jerks…why don’t they ask Brazil to help them out.

Doesn’t Brazil require specific vehicles for their fuel? Interesting how GM will work with them to improve their energy independance….but fight American politicans to do the same here.

On Greta show, was a question; do You believe that all Auto makers ;GM,Chrylser,Fors CEOs ahould be fired??? 97% said YES!!! On top of this, we should see the biggest investigation of those companies CEOs and their wealth should be confiscated and retuirnTO PEOPLE!!!. Every company with current problems must be investigate in all those stinky and corrupted thiefs-CEOs should go behind bars for life time!!!

  • Beal

Chris Dodd and Barney Frank both said they thought the 3 CEO’s should get the money – even talked about descrimination against the blue collar employees not getting help via the $25 billion “loan” compared to Wall St. execs getting $250 billion handout. I thought Dodd might start crying when he talked about the union workers possibly having to do without all their benefits.

The only reason Pelosi asked for the CEO’s to come back with a plan is to buy time for the dust to settle – with time the dissenters will not be making so much noise against the deal – then she can give them the money without getting so much flack. Especially with the holidays and Congress being out for now.

There is way too much wrong with the way those co. have been run to expect that this loan will be the answer to their problem or that it will tide them over during this economy. They thought it was smooth sailing when all they had to do was make the big guzzling SUV’s to sell to the credit happy public. They got caught with their pants down and now have gone crying to mama.

As far as the employees go, I always feel bad when anyone loses their job. And this would cause job loses beyond the auto workers alone. But the unions need to make more concessions to save jobs, too. I don’t know specifically about the UAW but there are unions that have become very corrupt. In some instances they have even hurt the nonunion work force. I have several neighbors who have retired in their 50′s because they had union jobs. It doesn’t seem right, somehow.
