Go, Helen, go.

You find the most dynamite info. I especially enjoy it when you describe what we’ll find if we follow your links.

I suppose others can join in too.

Since this is an open thread here’s something I found amusing.
    Old Butch The Rooster

John was in the fertilized egg business.

He had several hundred young layers (hens), called ‘pullets,’ and ten roosters to fertilize the eggs.

He kept records, and any rooster not performing went
into the soup pot and was replaced.

This took a lot of time, so he bought some tiny bells and attached them to his roosters.

Each bell had a different tone, so he could tell from a distance, which rooster was performing.

Now, he could sit on the porch and fill out an efficiency
report by just listening to the bells.

John’s favorite rooster, old Butch, was a very fine specimen, but this morning he noticed old Butch’s bell hadn’t rung at all!

When he went to investigate, he saw the other roosters were busy chasing pullets, bells-a-ringing, but the pullets, hearing
the roosters coming, would run for cover.

To John’s amazement, old Butch had his bell in his beak, so it couldn’t ring.

He’d sneak up on a pullet, do his job and walk on to the next one.

John was so proud of old Butch, he entered him in the Winona County Fair and he became an overnight sensation
    among the judges.

The result was the judges not only awarded old Butch
the “No Bell Piece Prize,” but they also awarded him the “Pulletsurprise” as well.

Clearly old Butch was a politician in the making. Who else but a politician could figure out how to win two of the most coveted awards on our planet by being the best at sneaking up on the unsuspecting populace and screwing them when they weren’t paying attention.

Vote carefully this fall, the bells are not always audible.

I remember Larry has made comments favorable to Pannetta in the past.
Does anyone, besides me, get that twitchy feeling about him, that “Danger, Will Robinson” feeling, LOL?
Because I’ve been following his statements and trying to figure out where he really stands, and something has not felt right.

    • getfitnow

I feel the worm began to turn with his “private sector..doing fine” statement. But this last statement, capped it.

People better wake up and believe their lying eyes and EARS!

the art of gray hull dipolmacy

you can have the military, put in place, but what about making the enemy think you have the will to use it

    this one makes you think
    what is poverty??

    Iowa Hawk

Way to go wingnuts. Now you’ve made a bunch of tired WH staffers work overtime rewriting his next 20 stump speeches. #panic

    • jrterrier

the only one i would even consider is Judd Gregg.

      • Flop_Flipper

Agreed. Gregg not a total loon, like some of the others.

I do hope that when I post my links that I am not annoying anyone. I see things and think maybe the group would be interested. Sometimes I see articles that I would like insight on from the people here.

anything about syria and the ME , I would like the veterans here that have been it that part of the world to help me understand what is going on.

Some of the laws that are being passed and the executive orders being signed , I would like insight to help me understand what will change in the country because of them

some times it is just because we need a break and if we do not laugh we will cry.

because you are great and wise and experienced bunch I respect your input

    • lola828

Your constant cutting and pasting from dubious far-right wing sources certainly shows the right-wing echo chamber in full effect.

Newsmax, PJMedia, Powerline, Freebeacon, Weaselzippers, NoQuarter are all quality sources of information, analysis and facts. We can all learn something from these great bastions of journalism.

      • HELENK2
      • Hokma

Go play with your video games – or do so more Google searches – maybe you’ll find the lowest number in existence – that way you’ll know your IQ moron.

      • shelldoll2

Your constant stupidity and racism annoy me as a Black American. But what can ya do?

      • HELENK2

has anyone told you there is a difference between cutting and pasting and linking??????

      • shelldoll2

Yet I revere you as a bastion of an ignorant, racist, sycophantic group.

Ergo, I will ponder an ode to your abilities. Wait for it.

      • scottymac54

Lola, I’m not a fan of “weaselzippers”, “powerline”, etc., either, but it’s pointless to instinctively deny opposing viewpoints by shooting the messenger, even among a million lies, you’ll find something true.
Besides, don’t YOU spend at least sometime reading features and feedback on blogs and news dissemination sources, just to find out how others think, and how much of that they choose to share with others?
Even when I was a hardcore party Dem, I did that, and could never understand why others either thought that was sacrilegious, or even having the power to brainwash, or intoxicate.
Think about it. There is a reason, a reason beyond our earthly comprehension, that has brought you here, to challenge and engage.

    • jrterrier

      i enjoy your links.

      • HELENK2

        thank you

        • buzzlatte3

I love to go through the links. Keep up the great work!

        • HoosierinDixie

          Keep them coming Helen.

    • http://www.facebook.com/people/Jo-Freespirit/100000801917982 Jo Freespirit

No way are your links are annoying. New info is always a good thing. Thanks for the effort.

    • scottymac54

HelenK2, I hope you realize I’m only busting chops with the “backtracking” stuff!
Politically, we disagree more than we disagree, and I don’t read every link, or even most links, but I do read SOME, and many have been very informative, maybe they take me down roads, I’d never considered travelling, that’s been good for me, and you should get props for that.
So, if I come off like gangbusters, please don’t take any of it to heart, or be angry at me.
A lot of people, I loved and respected, for decades, have turned out to be straight-up communists (serious), and I’m still trying to work out the conflicts in my own thinking, and values, that this has dredged up.
So carry on, know that your work is appreciated, even if it brings us places we are not ready to go.
      Your influence counts.

      • HELENK2

we can agree to disagree on some matters.
I have a question for you. the other night you were talking about Sears at 69th st. I grew up in that area. was born in stonehurst and my dad worked for the red arrow. where are you from???

        • scottymac54

I am from New York, but have relatives from Fishtown, who now live in South Philly, and in Swedesboro, NJ, so I am familiar with the area (more what it was, then where it is going).
I am originally from Brooklyn, but live in Bergen County, in northern NJ, now.
(My understanding is, the 69th Street Sears was lost as a direct result, of the extent of damage and losses done during that one rampage, not because of declining sales.)

          • HELENK2

I can remember when it was a nice safe area. Generations of my family lived in west Philly and Upper Darby. Still have a daughter, two grandchildren and three great grandchildren who life in upper darby

            • HELENK2

I used to work in Penn Station NY

              • scottymac54

Yes, I remember, you remember the bombings, and the evac scares….

            • scottymac54

Oh, wow. I think, if you are in a private house, you are much better off, then if you rent.
I don’t think it will be unlivable in the next five years or so, it will depend on the school situation, just like it has, so often, in the recent past.
Many old-timers and stable, grounded folks there, who, after all, haven’t left so far.
The cops keep tabs, much better than those in surrounding areas, although it may not seem so.

              • HELENK2

the last time I was in Phila, I cried. Such a beautiful city with so much history now so much of it is just a slum.
When I took a trip around the country, one place I stopped was Albany. They still have houses from the 1600s and it is city that seems to care. go from that to Phila and you cry

    • Justine00

You and your links are wonderful, HelenK2. Keep it up!!

    • getfitnow

      Keep ’em coming!

    • Flop_Flipper

Please keep posting your links. I learn so much that I sometimes miss otherwise.

    • KenoshaMarge

Love your links Helen. Don’t ever stop!

Syrian rebels control Iraq and Turkish borders

    • shelldoll2

Oh I’m sure the Turks will love that.

      • scottymac54

I can’t even begin to figure out, how that can play out.

how quoting his own words became he didn’t say that.

does anyone get annoyed that the backtrack bunch really thinks the American public is a dumb as a box of rocks?

SF to ban outdoor smoking except for pot.
I have never tried pot. can you get a contact high if you are outdoors and if you get a traffic stop would you get ticketed for DUI???

    • Hokma

      Far out, man.

    • getfitnow

This press conference should be mined for its gems in putting together
ads by the GOP showing how deceitful and
      clueless the Dems really are.

    • buzzlatte3

Worse. Word on the street is that a boring sex position is now called a “Harry Reid”. I leave it to your own judgement beyond that.

      • shelldoll2

backtrack is not fooling elderly Floridians
he is talking about outsourcing he killed NASA

Nancy upset that since the dems want Romney to release his tax returns, people are asking for hers and others in congress

    • getfitnow

Tax scrutiny didn’t stop “Tax Cheat” Geithner from being confirmed.

      • TeakWoodKite

        great point,
Nancy should release her tax information on her relationship with the Tides Foundation.

        • scottymac54

And I thought it was a great thing that she was going to be Speaker.
I thought it was an incredible breakthrough.
I thought she was such a FIGHTER, LOL!
Little did I realize, exactly who and what, she intended to fight for.

      • shelldoll2

Yeah Mr. I forgot to pay my taxes was okay. Now Romney’s a bad guy? Get real.

    • buzzlatte3

Nancy is a useless relic haunting the halls in Washington DC. Someone be kind and show her towards the exit door.

      • Flop_Flipper

She reminds me of a woman named Mary Shaw, from the horror film Dead Silence.

Here is the poem about her:

Beware the stare of Mary Shaw
She had no children only dolls
And if you see her in your dreams
        You must not scream
For she is taking revenge upon all
Who had silenced her and made her fall
Sending out 101 dolls to rip out their tongues
So none of them will utter a single word again
Beady little eyes, turning every way you go
Leave them in the dark and you never know
Forever they wil place you down, in eternal sleep
With a picture of horror, your own blood will seep
And gone forever, she will take
All your loved ones and family
        Beware of Mary Shaw
        She’s very angry
And whatever you do, don’t appear scared
For she will murder you and leave your blood there
Her ghost is kept inside one doll
Dug from her grave, you will lose it all
        Just don’t say her name
        Don’t ask her why
She’ll take your loved ones and she won’t cry
Beware of the stare of Mary Shaw
        Her spirit lives on

If you click the link on her name above it will take you to a picture of Mary Shaw. Now tell me that she and Pelosi weren’t separated at birth.

    • shelldoll2

She’s saying they should show theirs. Hey Nance! This was the Dems idea. I’ll tell you the same thing I would have told Repubs in this situation:

      SUCK IT UP.

    • HoosierinDixie

Saw a comment on another blog that said something like this….”What a great idea the Senate dems have to require presidential candidates to release 10 years of taxes and other financial forms.. But lets not stop there. Lets extend it to all Congressional members. They come newly elected to Washington to do the people’s bidding but after all the perks and $174,000 a year, they have to sleep in their offices or share an apartment with other members. Yet miraculously in a few short years they are all multimillionaires. Maybe we should take a good look at how thay do it.Hell lets extend it to cabinet members and czars. Lets extend it to all federal employees because they have over 1.3 billion in unpaid taxes. YES WE CAN ladies and gents. We make it a truely bipartison effort cuz there are no red states… there are no blue states….. yada yada . Lets make it a real love fest with xoxo. Republicans can hug their elephants and dems can kiss their own ass.”
