For the record, this was a quote within a quote taken entirely out of context. He was speaking about people who feel this way. Dean grew up in a Republican household.

Regarding the Green Room - I've been to the DNC in DC and they actually have a special set-up wherein DNC folk and Democrats can be remotely interviewed. I doubt that Dean was ever in a green room. That said, I find it hard to believe that even if he didn't watch cable, that he would have missed the daily email news clips (and they are extensive) sent out to DNC staff. He knew.

Happy Thanksgiving to one and all!

I let everyone I know I will never forget what was done by the media to humiliate both of the women running for the highest offices in our land this political season. There are those who want us to forget the images the media presented of both these accomplished women- Hillary Clinton and Sarah Palin. For months they did everything they could to portray these women in the worst possible ways a woman could be perceived and the DNC did nothing. In Hillary's case- they did EVERYTHING humanly possibly through their reporting in the press and on the air to make the public see her as a controlling bitch. In Sarah's case- once they knew she was McCain's VP nominee- they started the full court press to make her out as the dumb sexpot broad. Neither is correct but the public would never know it listening to CNN, MSNBC, The View, Saturday Nite LIve, NBC, CBS, and ABC to name a few. Starting with Oprah, who I am sure has alot of pull in the media, Obama was made out to be the nice guy- agreeable and Mr.All-Around Good Guy. The media in this nation is as much if not more of an embarrassment to our country as Bush, Cheney, the fat cats on Wall Street and all the other immoral and greedy CEOS of our country. Howard Dean is shameless and wants the women who know what he did to shame Hillary to now forgive him- but in my case it will never happen. The ends does not justify the means Howard- never has and never will. The one good thing I can say that has come out of this political season is that my family now watches the news considerably less than it ever did and rarely for more than 5-10 minutes each nite to catch the most important headlines. We now read more, watch more family programming and have better family discussions. The tensions caused by the media spitting their talking head sarcasm and blatant bias that I am sure they learned somewhere in journalism 101 was unprofessional, into our living rooms is over forever and we don't miss a minute of it.

Despite the challenges our country faces, I hope everyone can find some peace and joy this holiday season.

William,

Thank you so much for your post, your involvement and your encouragement.

We are not stopping or giving up. I never thought I'd find myself on this particular path, but I am not letting it go. I trust others have been likewise awakened and will also keep working this [positive] agenda.

Yes, we smell a rat, indeed.

You've summed this up very well. Just when I think I've calmed down, the upset starts all over again.

I can't believe how naive I was to have expected better of the party I belonged to all my adult life.

Ani:

Thanks!

I was there for some of it this summer.

I read your Article when Larry posted it on N.Q.

Really liked it!!

I want to see the PUMAS take this energy and turn defeat into Victory.

The intellect and Wit on this site is outstanding.

If Women can just sling shot off this moment, I'm convinced that they will dominate politics in this New Century.

This economic crisis is like a RESET on a video game.

Women MUST be in the room when the RESET is done.

The Summer Seneca Falls Conference needs the PUMAS and their energy to set and push an agenda By and For Women for the twenty First Century.

PUMAS are the shock troops that have faught the 2008 battles.

Obama is getting ready to "Recut The Pie"

Now, As in RIGHT Now, is the time to push your agenda.

Obama, Dean, The Media have a lot to be ashamed of.

Don't let them off the hook.

Push them.

Demand and get consessions.

Faint hart never kick the shit out of arragant Knight.

I will do anything to help make this thimg happen.

Go For It Ani!

Screw the lemonaid.
Take these 2008 lemons and make History!

I couldn't agree more with Jake Tapper. We have to be careful that negativity does not take over and we lose sight of the "ball". We have our work cut out for us. Women look very powerless right now. This must change because we do have power. It just has to be harnessed.

Listen, folks, I am thrilled to hear this from Howard Dean. Yes, it is a little too late. But that is not the point. Dean has announced he will resign as chairman of the DNC, which is customary. But, I got the idea that he is not happy about something. Maybe he will be the one to write the tell-all book.

His wife, a physician, would obviously be a woman of his generation that he speaks of who was outraged at the sexism toward Hillary as well as the pain of not seeing her become the first woman president. He made it more believeable when he put party aside and included Sarah Palin. What this tells me is Nancy Pelosi was probably the ring leader for electing Obama. Perhaps it all got way out of hand in Dean's mind. Further, the fact that he said this had all been swept under the rug and someone should be looking into it was stunning, if in fact, he was one of the culprits.

I think the main thing Dean wanted was a candidate who would use his 50-state strategy. Obama was the one who was willing to do that since he didn't have a strategy or any ideas of how to run such a campaign. Pelosi handled the campaign part for him with the venture capitalist company that she secured to "be" his campaign. That's why when people talk about his "brilliant" campaign I want to throw things.

We saw how Hillary had a gun to her head and no way to NOT wholeheartedly help get Obama elected. Dean possibly did too. I may be giving him too much credit, but I find it very curious that he was willing to be so outspoken when he wasn't even called on to answer that question - he volunteered his very strong words. I say hallelujah! We need all the help we can get - even from this person that I have chewed up and spit out many times.

Not only that, but SC Rep. James Clyburn got the DNC to front-load the SC primary so that a state with a large A-A voter registration could have a significant role in helping determine the nominee. Does anyone smell a rat that this was the Obama strategy all along?

In addition Clyburn managed to get one of the debates in SC on Monday, January 21st, **MLK's Birthday** holiday, prior to the Sat. January 26th primary election! It was a week of non-stop celebration of MLK. The day of the debate there was a march to the capital in Columbia that included all the candidates honoring MLK. This would be the first primary that Obama would win. He got 90% of the A-A vote. John Edwards won this primary in 2004.

This was a huge turning point for Obama for obvious reasons, but the two major ones were 1) Bill Clinton describing Obama's claims about his war votes as "the biggest fairy tale I've ever heard" when both Obama and Hillary had voted the same on the war once he was in the Senate. 2) Bill also talked about how Jesse Jackson had won the SC primary in 1984 and 1988.

Clyburn found the nearest microphone to begin the racial campaign against the Clintons threatening Bill if he didn't stop playing the race card he would end his 'neutral' status and endorse "a" candidate. Clyburn's partner-in-crime was Donna Brazile who used CNN that night to start her condescending outrage and how disappointed she was in President Clinton and would never again say a positive word about Hillary or Bill. This was all designed to keep A-A's angry at the Clintons so they would not vote for Hillary.

Is it any wonder that Rep. Clyburn is in line for one of Obama's cabinet appointments? What an outrage!!

Just when I thought I couldn't hate Howie more...he goes and proves me wrong and another wave of hatred rolls across me. Too little, too late, too inane, too redundant, too disrespectful, too sad. Howie is to politics and timely response what the Edsel was to car-manufacturing and advertising.
If he were any more useless he would be a potted plant.
I wrote so many emails calling for his resignation my fingers ached.
I have never been more disgusted by a human before and somehow I doubt I ever will be again.
The only close second I can think of is Dear Sweet Donna....another useless piece of flotsam in this election years lineup.
I find the whole DNC RBC one of the most horrid things I have ever had the misfortune to witness....and on my birthday, no less. I could rant for days about Howie and his blinders. I have already many times over. He personifies all things wrong with politicians and 'the process'.
I hate him and now all I want for Christmas is a dart board with his fat, ugly face on it.

The only close second I can think of is Dear Sweet Donna….another useless piece of flotsam in this election years lineup.
I find the whole DNC RBC one of the most horrid things I have ever had the misfortune to witness….and on my birthday, no less. I could rant for days about Howie and his blinders. I have already many times over. He personifies all things wrong with politicians and ‘the process’.
I hate him and now all I want for Christmas is a dart board with his fat, ugly face on it.

As Former SOS Albright said:

There’s a place in Hell reserved for women who don’t help other women.”

You can blame Dean and rightfully so but if women represent 51% of the population then they could have the candidate of thier choice.

Howard Dean is SCUM! How dare he talk about sexism at this point. The DNC really thinks women are stupid lowlifes. Keep it up Howie, someday you may wake up and get a clue but at this point you truly are a vicious insensitive pig.
