The Treasury Bureau’s Bureau of Public Debt Is MIA

Our own MissPolitico uncovered this absolute gem.
Over at the US Department of Treasury, you can find a list of contacts with web site links, such as:
Bureau of Engraving and Printing
Bureau of Public Debt
Now, if you click on the link to the Bureau of Engraving and Printing, you will see this link in your url line.
http://www.moneyfactory.gov/section.cfm/16
You can’t make this shit up.
They actually call themselves the Money Factory dot Gov. Actually, this seems rather appropriate, since they have been printing money like crazy with no gold standard to back it up, thus guaranteeing that the dollar should be worth about $0.26 next year at this time.
Well, if you are going to visit the Money Factory, then you might just as well visit the Bureau of Public Debt just to see how things are coming along, right? This seems appropriate considering our debts are piled so high that it will take the next three generations to pay them off. And with Barack, Nancy and Harry looking to pork yet a few more trillions into the Great Home Giveaway and The Socialist Union of Wall Street & Auto Manufacturing, my estimate might actually be rather optimistic.
And then there is Barney Frank, of “Fannie Mae is just fine” fame, saying that we shouldn’t really worry about silly things like deficits and we should spend more money as soon as possible. Borrow, print…..whatever!:
So, is it any wonder then, if you pay a visit to the US Treasury’s Bureau of Public Debt site, this is what you will get???:
This is not very re-assuring, is it?
You would think that, at the very least, they would say something like, “Sorry. Gone fishing.”.
Or “Oy, leave us alone”.
