Obama and Al Gore’s Man Playing Politics at CIA

* BUMPED UP * We’ll keep bumping this up periodically until the media pay attention. This important discovery is not receiving attention from the MSM — astonishing considering what Obama forced the CIA to do. Please also TWEET this to everyone you know. – Editor

A retired CIA buddy, who served in some highly sensitive posts, was perusing the CIA doc dump and discovered that Al Gore’s former PR guy was in the middle of a bunch of meetings. Here is his note:

If one reads the released emails posted on the Judicial Watch site, one notes that also sitting in on the Boal meetings at CIA, at government expense for consumables, was Michael Feldman, Managing Director and co-Founder of the Glover Park Group (GPG) public relations firm. Feldman is Al Gore’s former vice presidential mouthpiece, and GPG is one of the Obama campaign’s advisors. I notice that no one in the press has picked up on this one, yet.

See pages 28 and 29 of the attached PDF. Such an innocuous request memo to serve coffee, but so revealing of the true nature of the meeting (isn’t that what you analyst types live for?). Note the certification that this meeting “will facilitate the accomplishment of the duties and responsibilities of the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.” Who knows what other gems are in the JW document dump?

And here is the memo (the original screenshot is below the fold):

Part 2 of the same page of the memo:

The original memo:

Why is a political PR hack honchoing meetings at the CIA where US Government funds are being expended, albeit for coffee?

Per the memo, a CIA officer certified, and I quote:

I certify that the attendance of the individuals listed above for this function will facilitate the accomplishment of the duties and responsibilities of the Director of the Central Intelligence Agency.

Since when is the CIA in the business of pushing an incumbent’s political strategy? It is the “duty” of the CIA Director to get an inaccurate movie glorifying Obama made? This is wrong and, truth be told, a misuse of your taxpayer dollars.

And let’s note that Feldman is not some Special Ops or CIA expert. Here is Michael Feldman, Democrat strategist:

I have learned subsequently from my buddy that Feldman’s name is all over the docs. Okay boys and girls. Get digging.

One more thing–while getting the movie made was a priority for Obama, he only had time to send the SEALS who died in the August 2011 helo crash a form letter.

  • Retired_from_SPOnaj

Further down in the docs, it is revealed that Mark Boal and Michael Feldman arrived together for the initial meeting with the Deputy Director of the CIA’s Office of Public Affairs, George Little, and that Mr. Little invited Feldman to join Boal and Little for breakfast in an email. Kinda chummy. Boal thanked Little for being an advocate for the Bigelow/Boal film project over a potential rival CAA effort, an activity that was questioned by then Deputy Director of Operations Tom Twetten. Funny, I thought that the CIA’s job was inelligence. Our tax dollars at work.

Well done man. You’re an All Star, but I already knew that. Just wish the folks on this blog could know all that you’ve done for your country and the dangers you’ve endured. Such is your lot in life–keep the silence but keep on punching.

      • jrterrier

it’s pretty easy to read between the lines of his posts and see that.

      • KenoshaMarge

We may not know but we can guess. Therefore we respect and admire. Or at least I do.

        • BronwynsHarbor

Same here. Thank you, Retired! You deserve ALL good things.

          • no_longer_a_democrat

            Agreed. Thank you, Retired_from_SPOnj.

    • BronwynsHarbor

RETIRED, which document are you referring to? I am tryiing to find it so I can make the memo image larger.

      • BronwynsHarbor

Not to worry. I found it although it was difficult since none of the PDFs — and there are several — is searchable. I had to scroll page by page, trying to figure out which one of the unreadable memos was the one that Larry posted.

  • Retired_from_SPOnaj

Hey, here’s an inconvenient truth: Guess who played a key role in Al Gore’s movie, “An Inconvenient Truth”? Why, Michael Feldman of the Glover Park Group, the Democratic Party’s product placement specialist with the film industry. Very cool stuff.

    • BronwynsHarbor

Keep digging, Retired. YOU ROCK. Both you and Larry. I hope you call in every favor you’ve ever had to make sure this gets the full media treatment that it deserves.

    • KenoshaMarge

So welcome to have information from someone with the insight, competence and training to know what the hell they’re talking about. Thank you for sharing those things with us.
It is difficult for average citizens to be informed enough to make the right choices when trying to understand while being deluged with “expert” opinions, that are no such thing, and buried in bullshit. Takes a lot of sifting that most of us simply do not know how to do or don’t have the time or inclination to do.
Having 2 experts here at NQ has made me understand more that I have ever understood before. And that’s still a long way from what I actually need to know.

  • BronwynsHarbor

Larry, I am dumbfounded. This is up at Twitter … and i pray it goes “viral.”

I also hope that people get this info to Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan. They could make a TV ad out of this — somehow — and REALLY rock Obama’s boat.

Of course, the media will not play along, but perhaps you can make sure they do. GOOD LUCK! AND THANK GOD FOR ALL OF YOU intelligence officers who keep your eye on what is IMPORTANT for this nation and the world.

“Not Forgotten… John McCain Remembers Neda at RNC
On June 20, 2009, a beautiful young woman who was standing with her father watching the Green Revolution protests in Iran was shot by a basiji member hiding on the rooftop of a civilian house. The regime thug had a clear shot at the girl and could not miss her. However, he aimed straight her heart. The impact of the gunshot was so fierce that the bullet had blasted inside the victim’s chest, and she died in less than 2 minutes. The protests were going on about 1 kilometer away in the main street and some of the protesting crowd were running from tear gass used among them, towards Salehi Street. The film was shot by my friend who was standing beside me. Please let the world know. Her name was Neda.Tonight John McCain remembered Neda in his speech at the RNC Convention.http://youtu.be/bbdEf0QRsLM

  • BronwynsHarbor

Retired and Larry, sorry that this is off-topic, but I wanted you to see this, posted at Drudge Report:

Obama Honored Fallen SEALs By Sending Their Parents a Form Letter Signed By Electric Pen

These were the SEALs lost when their helicopter crashed in Afghanistan.

On August 6, 2011, 30 US service members were killed when a CH-47 Chinook helicopter they were being transported in crashed in Wardak province, Afghanistan. It was thedeadliest single loss for U.S. forces in the decade-long war in Afghanistan. 17 membersof the elite Navy SEALs were killed in the crash. …

That link takes you to Gateway Pundit blog, which has posted screenshots of Obama’s IDENTICAL letters to ALL THIRTY soldiers killed. The parents of the 30 soldiers compared the letters, identical, every one of them.

    • BronwynsHarbor

Ah, I see that Larry added this at the end of his post. Good, Larry.

    • Retired_from_SPOnaj

The White House toadies probably think that the survivors should be thankful that the President didn’t single any of them out for personal attention, but treated them all equally. In actuality, Mr. Obama probably didn’t even know of the existence of the letters. He has more important things to do.

  • no_longer_a_democrat

wow. so using the CIA to prop up their Messiah in the WH?? Shocked! /s not really.

I don’t understand something, isn’t General Peterus in charge of the CIA, these type meetings meeting, does the General get made aware of them? I mean these meetings seem so blatantly political, etc, nothing in the interest of the American people, why aren’t the higher ups putting a stop to it?
Or are the higher ups all part of this? forced into being part of this? and if they are forced, wth? they’re smart enough to know better so why won’t they put a stop to it??

    • http://noquarterusa.net Larry Johnson

This happened under Panetta not Petreaus.

      • Dissentispatriotic

Since being named to head the CIA, it seems as though David Petraus has disappeared from the scene. Perhaps that’s as it should be under normal circumstances, but it’s like he doesn’t exist. Is he just doing his job or has he been told to lay low and be quiet?

        • Retired_from_SPOnaj

Oh, he’s doing his job, alright. Everyone at CIA knows it, too, because the changes that he has instituted have begun to eliminate the firmly-entrenched culture of political butt kissing that began even before I retired. Instituting these changes would’ve been difficult enough under the Bush administration, doing so under the Obama administration after a culture of politicization entered its second generation has been damn near impossible. But David Petraeus is not one to shrink from a challenge.

          • Dissentispatriotic

Thanks, Retired. Glad to hear this.

          • TeakWoodKite

Do you think he will institute a “system” similar to the ‘diamond’ he described for Iraq at the CIA? I don’t recall it’s name but it seemed very effective.
Thanks for the sharp cutlery. :)

          • akaPatience

            Good to know. Thanks.

    • jrterrier

General David H. Petraeus (US Army, Retired) became the 20th Director of the Central Intelligence Agency on September 6, 2011, after this meeting.

  • DianaLC

    Thanks, LJ
Here we are again getting the information from you that we should be getting in our local papers and on tee vee. We’ll EVENTUALLY get it from one of the media, but by then it will be “old news” and not one of the talking heads will really want to talk about it.

  • HObama HObamanana

    What I would like to know is why the cost of serving coffee and water for four people has been redacted. ;-}

    • Retired_from_SPOnaj

Starbucks has a coffee franchise at CIA. God only knows what they charge, Besides, the memo also refers to a “luncheon,” but there is no further information on that.

      • HObama HObamanana

They are probably hiding the cost of the shit sandwiches they have served to the rest of us. For the sake of national security, of course.

  • Fred82

    What can I say,

When one of these political hacks enter the room, the average IQ of those in the room goes down 20-30 points.

Doesn’t the CIA have more pressing matters to attend to than the whims of political hacks? Like I don’t know, bad guys and stuff.

    http://www.thegatewaypundit.com/2012/08/obama-sent-personal-letter-of-condolence-to-rappers-family-sent-form-letter-to-families-of-fallen-seals/

funny how the SEALS get a form letter and a rapper gets a personal letter.
you have to admit his priorities are different than most Americans

    • Retired_from_SPOnaj

Rappers are important rock stars, SEALs are just expendable. Still, they (i.e., the SEALs) go out and do it, for us.

    • shelldoll2

I dunno. But I do know a little something about security clearances Confidential? Give me a break!

  • Retired_from_SPOnaj

Here’s another interesting bit of information. In December 2011, Marie Harf, Little’s publc affairs officer at CIA that was the action officer and strong advocate for the Bigelow/Boal film project (according to the emails), left the CIA to join the Obama campaign as associate policy director for national security.

    • akaPatience

      Golly gee. What a coincidence!

  • Retired_from_SPOnaj

It appears that Sarah Zukowski, whose name also appears on some of the emails, is an employee of the Glover Park Group’s Democratic Party lobbying shop, according to Rep. Peter King (R-NY).

  • Retired_from_SPOnaj

An example of Mr. Little’s current endeavors in his capacity as Pentagon spokesman (from the New York Times).
“The Pentagon press secretary, George Little, told reporters in a briefing on Friday that the book’s author, Matt Bissonnette, was “in material breach of nondisclosure agreements he signed with the U.S. government” to not disclose classified information and to submit his book to the Pentagon for review.
Mr. Little said the Pentagon was “reviewing all options” against Mr. Bissonnette, but he would not specify what those options might be and repeatedly declined to say whether the Pentagon had determined if there was classified information in the book. Mr. Bissonnette did not submit his book to the Pentagon for review.”
Note that Little “…repeatedly declined to say whether the Pentagon had determined if there was classified information in the book.” Sounds like lawyer threats to me, in the hope that Amazon and other retail purveyors will stop selling Bisonnette’s book because they fear prosecution. This should really pump up the sales. Too bad none of the retailers signed a secrecy agreement, and thus can’t be prosecuted for breaking it. They also can’t be prosecuted for willful disclosure of classified information, since the Pentagon refuses to say whether or not classified information is actually contained in the book.

    • TeakWoodKite

Matt Bissonnette was unable to respoind for comment at press time due the fact that he was “busy”.

  • HELENK2
    • Retired_from_SPOnaj

Somehow I don’t see the man who was No. 2 up the stairs to Bin Laden’s room in the heart of Abbotabad at “Zero Dark Thirty” (with apologies to Bigelow and Boal) backing down in the face of feckless threats from DoD wielding an obscure legal toady–the legal equivalent of a penknife. They are now looking down Bisonnette’s barrel of Patton Boggs, kinda like the legal equivalent of what Bisonnette was armed with on “the night.” And we all know how that turned out for both Bisonnette and the guy on the wrong end of that barrel.

      • HELENK2

        I hope so

  • Retired_from_SPOnaj

Hey Larry, I just noticed: Paragraph 1 of that coffee authorization memo was classified CONFIDENTIAL (for the rest of you, that’s what the “(C)” means after the paragraph number). The definition of CONFIDENTIAL is “information that can cause damage to the national security of the United States.”
Question: How does the information contained in paragraph 1 of the coffee authorization memo cause damage to the national security of the United States?

  • akaPatience

Collusion between Ms. Harf and a NYT reporter in this Glenn Greewald story in The Guardian a couple of days ago (posted on The Drudge Report I think):

“The CIA has been open about our engagement with writers, documentary filmmakers, movie and TV producers, and others in the entertainment industry,” CIA Spokeswoman Jennifer Youngblood said in an e-mail Tuesday night. “The protection of national security equities is always paramount in any engagement with the entertainment industry.”
At the White House, Boal apparently met with National Security Council Chief of Staff Denis McDonough and Deputy National Security Adviser for Counterterrorism John Brennan. There are few details on those meetings in the released records. The White House is not subject to the Freedom of Information Act.

    Link
    a) “The protection of national security equities is always paramount in any engagement with the entertainment industry.”

The national security of the United States have been monetized? I’m shocked I tell ya! And here I thought Barry would stick to edgy subprime real estate deals.

    b) Boal met with Denis McDonough and John Brennan? While the CIA says it’s “open” (for business), it appears Motel 1600 can niether confirm nor deny and is not subject to that “transparency” Barry sold the American public, like cheap choom rope…. Correct me if I am wrong but these two individuals brief Barry on the “goings on”. So one can make a rational assumption that BO knew and condoned this.
What does that says about Clint Eastwoods empty chair?

    • Retired_from_SPOnaj

Ironically, it was Ms. Youngblood herself that classified the first paragraph of the coffee memo where the purpose and attendees of the meeting were being explained as CONFIDENTIAL. So much for being “open.”

  • Hokma

Lt. Tony Shaffer this morning (Saturday) on Fox and Friends just discussed this and is calling for an investigation and says that federal crimes were committed.

Why is this not being followed up by the other media? Like all other abuses abd crimes committed by the Obama administration the media will do anything to cover up potential impeachment reasons of Obama, particularly 70+ days away from the election.

If, heaven forbid, Obama is re-elected but the GOP gets a majority in both houses you can bet the house that within the first six months investigations will culminate in impeachment charges which would have made the charges against Nixon look like a church picnic. Obama will not complete ahld a term before being forced out or kicked out.

  • KenoshaMarge

Do you seriously expect the media to pay any attention to things like this, which are of great importance, when they can obsess about an 82 year old actor and a chair?
If this was during the Bush Administration it would be front and center and screaming headlines. This is the kind of danger that a lapdog media brings to this country.

Hey Larry, before you make such blatant claims as trying to discredit the administration, you have to ask yourself one very important question:

What does SANDRA FLUKE think about the our current foreign policy situation?

These events are extremely troubling and of great concern to every American, as well as the Western world.

I think, and most Democrats do as well, it THE most important question to ask.
