‘Tis The Season To Be Jolly’ or thanks to Bush and Company for another chuckle.

Yes, the Bush Administration will be recognized in the history books as a complete disaster. The mess they have left us with is incomprehensible. At the same time, you have to admit every now and then they were good for laughs.

The latest, it seems they sent out invitations to a White House Hanukkah party using a Christmas Card.

That is not the Hanukkah Bush

That wagon is not carting in the Hanukkah Bush! You can’t see it in the small print here, but the wagon says White House Christmas Tree 2008

The New York Post has the story here

At least the Jewish people are known for their sense of humor.

“It’s absolutely bizarre to receive an invite to the White House for Hanukkah in a Christmas format,” said one person who was invited. “They should have consulted with their chief of protocol before sending this out. This belongs right in the ‘Weird But True’ column.”

Jewish community leader Isaac Abraham of Brooklyn had a simpler explanation.

“It’s obvious what’s going on here: The Christmas tree is being taken out of the White House and the menorah is being brought in the back,” he quipped.

You couldn’t make this stuff up. And with the Bush Administration we have never had to.

To everyone here at No Quarter and all of our readers, have a great Thanksgiving.

Rob, I’m not so sure. When it comes to history books, Bush may be tagged as an ordinary president. What we think right now may not be what history records. There have been and there will be many worse presidents, like our own dear leader, president-select.

    Funny that…Thanks Rob.

  • Baba Rum Raisin

To be COMPLETELY in character, the card would have said:

    “White House Christmas Tree 2006.”

While you’re crowning Bush as the worst president ever, I will gladly sit back and watch the Obama show in action and probably be thinking …”Bush wasn’t as bad as everyone thought”
I feel a little bit safer with him as President than what’s coming up next.

  • oowawa

I don’t think that, for better or for worse, W will be remembered as an “ordinary” president. The last eight years under his “leadership” have been very extra-ordinary. On the other hand, I never had nightly nightmares about W like I have been having about O ever since election day.

  • Trakar S.

You feel safer with Bush in the White House?! No wonder Obama won!
Bush is the origin, and chief exacerbator of, not protector from, a majority of our nation’s current problems. None the less, I will be very surprised if Obama performs much better, given the history of the appointee and the governance choices thus far in evidence.

  • henry

It amazing that Bush is graded a failure before he leaves and Obama thought to be a failure before he ever takes office. The mind is a sad thing to not use. Look ahead to the next election and vote . That all I have to say.

  • getfitnow

Well, we’ve learned that many the extra-ordinary circumstances didn’t start with Bush. And unfortunately, I believe they won’t end with him.

let’s hope there is another election.

  • AOK

Obama won’t have to try hard to be a better president that Bush.

  • HARP

Well he`s been playing one for two years already.

  • ObamaNOT

    Happy Thanksgiving all…

    No PUN today….

Just hope God blesses you all…

  • VforHill

Does anyone else find Obama’s comment that he does not want a “yappy” “girly” dog to have been offensive?!

  • benny

yes. girly dog. yeah right. Guess hes got a biased view bout women as a whole. Its sad.

  • Carol

    You are completely wrong.

1st, Jewish families now celebrate both holidays as they have Christian relatives. I have 3 Christmas trees up and one Menorah ready.

2nd, Bush has kept us safe since 9/11 whether you want to admit it or give him credit.

3rd, the Mortgage meltdown is on the backs of the Democrats. Hillary and the Republicans screamed fire and no one listened. So, don’t blame Bush.

4th, you got your Change coming and it looks exactly like a re-run of the Clinton administration without the “head” and the incompetent parts of the Bush administration.

Sign me off as an ex-Democrat leaning Republican while the new administration that stole the election moves in to spend us into a Depression with the inflation they are creating.

    CAROL HAKA

  • beebop

Offensive and right.in.character. Speaking of learning to keep one’s mouth shut ….

  • McHope

Hadn’t heard the comment until you mentioned it, it’s offensiveness goes beyond the usual sexist and belittling garbage he spews.
It is beyond offensive, given the current state of affairs in this country, that he and the useless media continue to talk about such things at all. People are increasingly losing jobs, the country is headed for a depression, entire industries are crippled, and foreign based threats are mounting by the day. But we sure do need to know if Obama gets a puppy, or what pizza he likes, or how he will waste hundreds of millions more on his inauguration week.
    Enough is enough.

  • standard

Actually, it makes me feel tremendous joy.
Because this is his last Christmas in the whitehouse.

  • Ace

Try to remember that the people who have been attacking Bush for the last 8 years are the very same people who ripped Mrs. Clinton a new one this year and destroyed any chance she had of being president.

Bush is a crook, as are the Clintons, but at least they were qualified to be president. Our White House will be vacant come January 20.

  • Ferd Berfle

I disagree. It was the hard right and hard left who ripped both Clintons over the years. The my-way-or-the-highway extremist types don’t like centrists.

  • College Educated for Hillary

Jewish families DO NOT celebrate both holidays. If we have Christian relatives the relatives celebrate Christmas WE DO NOT.

  • Ferd Berfle

2nd, Bush has kept us safe since 9/11 whether you want to admit it or give him credit

That great big post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy with an additional invincible ignorance fallacy thrown in for good measure entirely unravelled the rest of your “argument”, toodles. Nice try but no one is buying.
