<strong>Merriam-Webster Places Dick Morris' Picture Next To Word "Pathetic"
</strong>

opednews.com/articles/Merriam-Webster-Places-Dic-by-steve-young-081128-565.html

OT, but I just can imagine S. Hannity asking D. Morris about India's bombing, and would not
be surprised if he blames the Clintons for it, for not stopping some kind of policy' in the 1990's or whatever ''pathetic excuse''? The man is so fast to relate Hillary or Bill to anything that goes wrong, well...since he hates them...and his political forecast is not so very much reliable I agree with MW's editors. I would call him 'worst' but let leave it there.

Merriam-Webster Places Dick Morris' Picture Next To Word "Pathetic"

by steve young

pa·thet·ic [puh-thet-ik] 1. causing or evoking pity, sympathetic sadness, sorrow, etc.; pitiful; pitiable: a pathetic letter; a pathetic sight. affecting or moving the feelings.3.pertaining to or caused by the feelings.4.miserably or contemptibly inadequate: In return for our investment we get a pathetic three percent interest. 5. Dick Morris

In what Merriam-Webster editors are attributing to the voluminous usage, or citations, the forthcoming 2009 edition of the world-famous dictionary has added political pundit Dick Morris’s picture and name as one of the possible definitions for the word “pathetic.”

“We had seriously thought that we’d be adding it to the definition of “fallacious” or “wrong” as in the sentence, ‘Dick Morris is always wrong,’” said Webster’s VP, Noah Meriam-Webster, ” but one of our editors found an instance where he was right, though it was in actuality him just agreeing to something Sean Hannity said. He came close to being pictured next to “self-promotion” but then we’d have to pull out Bill O’Reilly’s picture. As far as being pathetic, Morris has found it’s way into common usage.”

Morris has spent the part two years, mostly appearing on Fox News to push his books and websites with predictions and other speculation that has been painfully inept. Pathetic, really. From predicting that Hillary Clinton would face a “nightmare” in her 2006 senate race against Republican Jeanine Pirro to theorizing Clinton would face Condoleezza Rice for the presidency in 2008. Morris saved his best for forecasting President Bush’s handling of Katrina. “Responding to disasters is a source of presidential strength and popularity, and Bush is about to show how it is done.”

It is close to $500, $600 a night in those hotels and if they set up some kind of control room in the hotel like the Indian minister was talking about, some of these guys stayed there. It is a lot of money for some of these guys. Who is funding them?

Seattle Moss, I was wondering if you had read Richard Clarke's, "Against All Enemies"...

(p351-2;

<blockquote>"At the beginning of the Bush 43 administration, thought was given to demoting the National Security Adviser by having Vice President Cheney chair the key operating group, the cabinet Principles committee. What happened instead was that the Vice President attended the principles meeting, out ranking the NSC adviser, who nominally chaired the meetings. With the Vice President's support the Secretary of Defense instructed the Pentagon staff to ignore any attempt at oversight by the NSC staff. The inter-agency control system broke down.

Another cause of the weakened NSC system was the limited scope of interest of the National Security Adviser. During the transition period in January 2001, Dr. Rice expressed surprise to me that my office was involved in so many things that were not "foreign policy".

...When in October 2001, there was an outbreak of Anthrax attacks, Dr. Rice told the White House Chief of Staff, in my presence, " I didn't take this job to work on things like that".</blockquote>.

...I would only say we do NOT need folks like this ruinning the show.

It is also well documented that during the transition from Clinton to Bush 43, Clarke was indeed, "running around with his hair on fire". It does not mean anyone listened. It is also documented that Richard Clarke and the shop he ran, were "demoted" below the principles group level.

When Bush got that Aug 6, PDB, it had been seven whole months of filtered communications via DOD or dis-interested NSC advisor... I wonder if he, Bush, even read the PDB.

How you had a nice turkey day.

Larry, since this is an open thread, would you please let me know how you feel about Bush pardoning all those criminals and drug pushers but letting the two border patrol agents rot in jail? Ignacio Ramos and Jose Compean were just doing their job trying to protect our borders from scum and they are in jail and the scum is free.

IMO the prosecutor who put them there is the one who should be put in jail.

How do we expect honest men and women to join our law enforcement units if we let things like this happen? The prosecutor was trying to make a name for himself (IMO) possibly planning to run for higher office all at the expense of two decent family men just serving their country.

I would like to see bloggers take up this cause and demand that President Bush do the right thing. We take up petitions for everything else. Wouldn't the rights of these two officers be as important as that of the wolves or the polar bears?

yup, we have a very good view these day though we were on the fifth row back. i like jamaica beach. the good thing is they are bringing in more sand and nature has started rebuilding the beaches. the state of texas will do nothing for a year as it gives nature a chance to rebuild.

Sad to say but it was because of many signs ignored from Bill Clintons watch. Also it was due to a military downgrade under Clintons watch.

i just lived through hurricane ike. it was tough of course, very hard on the coast. my family has a beach home right on bolivar penninsula where the worst impact was felt. it was built in 2008 21 feet in the air to florida storm standards. even the steps were still there. the perception is that all was lost. there nothing but death and chaos. the media is a bunch of carnival barkers trying to scare us into contining to buy their products.

so yes we are doing better than the media would have us believe. they get viewers by keeping everyone scared.

Thecost of Iraq is very expensive.
However what id=s the benefit of 100 years of American sphere of influence of a country.
Look at Germany, South Korea, Western Europe and Japan. All American sphere of influence
Now add these..Saudi Arabia, Kuwait,UAE,Bahrain,Qater, Israel and Iraq.

Seems we're doing pretty good after all!

it doesn't take a lot of money for an operation like this. and these young toughs live cheap. 9/11 was an operation that was relatively cheap when you look at the cost of iraq.
