Obama Gets Smacked Down by Latinos

Smartest President evah? NOT!! Watch Obama do an incoherent tap dance when asked some tough, direct questions:

Politico provides the full account of Obama’s inability to answer tough queries:

But it was his elaboration of his usual lament about failing to change the tone of Washington that immediately drew a sharp response from Republican nominee Mitt Romney.

“I think that I’ve learned some lessons over the last four years and the most important lesson I’ve learned is that you can’t change Washington from the inside,” Obama said, appearing to admit his inability to fully deliver on one of the driving themes of his 2008 campaign. “You can only change it from the outside. That’s how I got elected. And that’s how the big accomplishments like health care got done.”

Without TOTUS, POTUS is an empty head and not good at actually talking substantively. He also teed up Romney.

But wait, there’s more. The real smack down came when the Univision interviewer challenged Obama for his total failure to keep his promise on immigration:

However, much of the time in front of the Spanish-language audience here was spent on Obama’s failure to get comprehensive immigration reform — something that Obama attributed to focusing instead on the economy and blaming Republicans in Congress.

But to host Jorge Ramos, that answer was not good enough.

“You promised that, and a promise is a promise,” Ramos told Obama. “And with all due respect, you didn’t keep that promise.”

No kidding. Gracia a Dio por una intrevista directa. (Thank God for a tough, hard hitting interview.) The Lame Steam media was given a powerful lesson today how inept Obama is when pressed to defend his abysmal record.

OMG I despise with a passion that jerkoff Jorge Ramos. All he talks about non stop is immigration because he hates America and wants it over run with Mexicans mainly. That is Jorge’s pathetic angle. He hates the fact that he wasn’t born an American. Still glad he put the usurper on the hot seat.

  • jrterrier

i think the most important part is when the Pres says that as you cannot change Wash from the inside in his next term he is just going to talk to the American people more so they pressure Wash to take action. His answer to everything is talking.
remember when he said his biggest mistake was not talking enough.

argh. i’ve been looking for the text to repost but haven’t found it.

It is called ‘lead from behind.’ Obama is not one for heavy lifting. He’d prefer to let others do the work, he’ll blame everyone but himself for the failures, and take sole credit for the successes. He is the “I” president. He’s the president who eats Kobe beef and arugala in the White House, goes golfing a lot, and hangs out with violent misogynistc musicians and worse.

    • JohnnyTwoDog

Obama says he just needs to talk MORE (God save us)

NEW YORK (CBS) — “After suffering a “shellacking” in the midterm elections, President Obama acknowledges what many have seen as his chief weakness – failing to sell the importance of several legislative milestones to the American people.”

Obama told CBSs Steve Kroft, “I think that, over the course of two years we were so busy and so focused on getting a bunch of stuff done that, we stopped paying attention to the fact that leadership isn’t just legislation. That it’s a matter of persuading people. And giving them confidence and bringing them together. And setting a tone,”

“Making an argument that people can understand,” Mr. Obama continued, “I think that we haven’t always been successful at that. And I take personal responsibility for that. And it’s something that I’ve got to examine carefully … as I go forward.”

Some smack down. The crowd actually cheered Obama’s answer on immigration reform.

“FOX News poll: 58 % of Latinos approve of Obama’s handling of immigration, 32 % disapprove”

    http://latino.foxnews.com/latino/politics/2012/09/20/latinos-give-obama-higher-ratings-on-immigration-fox-news-latino-poll-says/

Latinos are very aware of Obama’ record. They are also aware of Romney’s positions on the Dream Act and self-deportation.

By the way Obama gave Univision a full 1 hour of his time. The Romney people would only give Univision 35 minutes.

Obama leads Romney with Latinos: 60% Obama versus 30% Romney.

Obama’s answer about deportations is the most hilarious in my view. First he goes before the American people, beats his chest and pronounces proudly that there have been more deportations in his Administration than any other. Then he goes before a Hispanic forum and blames the deportations on Congress.

    • TeakWoodKite

      He did an Arafat?

  • Hokma

    Here is the problem.

Most voters do not read political blogs or Drudge. What they see is their local newspaper, local TV news, and the news that is on the face page of msn, google, or yahoo – - ALL of which are part of what has become a massive Obama propaganda machine.

The real news that should be of concern is buried or ignored. So most people do not know about the rampant abuses being committed by Holder. They do not know about Obama’s socialists beliefs or the reasons why Obama’s middle east policies have failed. The do not know what Romney’s policies of recovery are even though he spelled them out. And they have been lied to about the actual content of that hidden video of Romney’s 47% statement.

The only chance Romney has to win now comes down to the debates – which, by the way, was the only thing that gave a boost to Reagan against Carter or we would have had 4 more years of Carter.

    • HObama HObamanana

You are absolutely correct. I have spoken with a few folks that don’t pay attention to what’s going on other than to watch the evening news or the local daily rag. Much of the information we have available to us is not being offered to them. They are clueless and think I am out of my mind. Some even have the misfortune to argue with me, spewing nightly news talking points. And when I ask them to back up their claims they can’t. But that does give me an idea.

Most people these days have dvd players (at a minimum). What if the Romney campaign (or SuperPACS) were to send out a campaign message providing the details these folks are not normally seeing, cutting through the filter. The cost of a mass mailing such as this is not that great, especially considering the costs already being absorbed with their current mailing strategy. And nearly every day there is something new in my mailbox. The blank DVDs aren’t that big of a deal, especially if a donor like Staples were to donate them. Give people the truth. There is no guarantee that they will accept it but unless one tries it’s like giving up.

      • Hokma

What he needs to do is be confrontational with the press but not in an angry way. Why did he not make an example of those two reporters assigned to him that were caught on tape conspiring on questions before the mid east press conference he had?

When he gets interviewed by one of Obama’s Pravda commanders (i.e. David Gregory) don’t be like John McCain – be more like Newt Gingrich. He needs to question their questioning and questions their ethics. He needs to make these people look like village idiots to their own audience to discredit what they way.

And Romney and the RNC need to become more aggressive with AP who really are Pravda.

        • akaPatience

I agree wholeheartedly about being more like Gingrich when dealing with media. I’m not a big fan of his but I think that’s Newt’s strongest asset. He’s quick, astute and talented when it comes to confronting media. Romney would be wise to take that page from Gingrich’s playbook.

        • DianaLC

I’ve mentioned that I want Gingrich to have a mic feed to Romney during the debates to make sure he knows how to deal with the press.

        • HObama HObamanana

I’ve seen him do this during the primary. He’s not as adept as Gingrich but with a little practice he might be able to pull it off with grace.

      • DianaLC

My partner’s golfing friends are all in Mitt’s camp along with him, except for one guy. That guy is a nice hard-working guy, but probably the least successful of the group. We are currently working with him as he does the reroofing work on my son’s house that was damaged by hail. My son’s girlfriend has a stepfather who is an absolute worthless person–no job, can’t get disability (because basically he is not disabled, only lazy) and lives off my son’t girlfriend’s mother.
This stepfather, as I’ve mentioned before is totally in Obama’s camp because he knows Obama’s going to redistribute the wealth to him.
While hanging around as we were working on the roof, he tried a scam against the insurance company for the people who brought the big bin for us to throw the old material into. He made sure his old clunker was in the driveway and then claimed they hit it delivering the bin. Good thing my parterner was there and made sure the car was NOT hit and called the company and told them that he was serving as a witness.
Then I made sure I mentioned to my partner’s friend, the Obama guy, that this stepfather is one of those 47% who is wanting Obama to redistribute our money to them.

        • HObama HObamanana

I’ve known a few would-be scam artists in my life. In general they are disgusting people that are on the same level of people that believe it’s just fine to beat up some old lady to steal her purse because they need a fix and life’s been so hard for them. In polite circles we call these excuse for human beings, lowlifes.

Obama’s whole plan is to ask the people that are successful to give more to the government so that “we” can invest in a stronger middle class. Romney’s plan is to create jobs so that people can earn wealth and build a stronger middle class. One requires most people to do nothing, the other requires nearly everyone to do something.

      • antielitist

I HATE to mention this – I want an R-2 victory – but if his campaign shop is any indication than he’s running a really inept not-ready-for-prime-time race. I ordered a sign, a tee shirt and a bumper sticker 2 months ago and all I have received is the sign. When I try to contact the customer service department I’m directed to voicemail – which says the mailbox is full. When I complained, a month ago, to a real person he told me the campaign had not gotten its customer service up and running and they were weeks behind in processing orders.

        Just saying.

I bet the POS campaign gets its stuff out right away.

What ticks me off is my credit card has already been charged and I still haven’t received my order.

        • HObama HObamanana

I would be pissed too. Not sure what the problem is on their end. When someone that takes my money then doesn’t answer my questions about where’s the beef I tend to get a might bit irate. And they can pretty much bet on that I won’t buy anything more from them.

    • http://twitter.com/beyondpartisan beyond partisan

I totally disagree with you about Romney’s chances of winning. I think he *is* winning, and the desperate Obama media is trying to make it look like Obama is winning by skewing the poll samples to Democrats.

Plus, there was that poll that came out today showing that 60% of Americans don’t trust the mainstream media.

As for Drudge, the Drudge Report got a BILLION hits last month. A BILLION. “Most voters don’t read Drudge”? Hardly. Drudge is one of the most viewed sites on the Internet. And let’s remember…Drudge is ONE PAGE. Drudge got a BILLION hits on ONE PAGE in ONE MONTH. Name one mainstream news organization that also has comparable stats – does the NY Times get ONE BILLION hits on its home page (not hits on ALL pages combined) in one month? Doubtful.

      • Hokma

a billion views include the same viewer many times or the refreshing of the site during one view that counts multiple times.

It is a relatively small percentage of Americans who get engaged in what is going on politically and do not follow an election until later September or early October.

        • http://twitter.com/beyondpartisan beyond partisan

I’m well aware of the difference between a unique visitor and a simple “hit” on a website…but Drudge is still knocking it out of the park traffic-wise.

    • DianaLC

And they watch entertainment t.v.–the Obamas to appear on The View so they can answer questions about what their favorite breakfast is, and so forth.

    • http://www.projectweavers.com/ Matthew J. Weaver

The divide between those attentive to politics and those not is stark. I’ve met a few people, even comments from some friends, that suggest they have little knowledge or or interest in anything that doesn’t impact them getting up each day, getting breakfast, going to work, working, home, dinner, a bit of TV or something, and then bed. Outside of this they have apparently zero interest as they conclude they have no role, their vote is useless, and it won’t change their routine the next day. I’m not sure how people get so tuned out and apathetic…

      • Hokma

Well most people are a member of a political party by heritage/family tradition. They just have no interest other than their job and things that affect that job. Most do not have family or friends in the military so they have little interest in foreign affairs.

So they vote based on tradition and maybe what they see on popular TV. Romney was well aware that the media would be as much of an opponent as his opponent.

      • TeakWoodKite

This is the exact same thing that happened the moth before Nov 2008. BO is attempting to run out the clock with lies and distortions knowing that.

From Washington Examiner, Charlie Spierling’s daily sheet of news (there’s more via link above):

Obama: ‘You can’t change Washington from the inside’Obama refuses to admit that he broke his promise to Hispanic votersUnivision’s Jorge Ramos to Obama on Immigration: “I want you to acknowledge you did not keep your promise”

    • HObama HObamanana

When Obama began to school Ramos on how he only represented one branch of government Ramos could easily have said: Well, Mr. President, you claimed you would accomplish this within your first year. You had a super majority in the Senate and a large majority in the House during your first year. Why didn’t you live up to your promise? Game. Set. Match.

  • BronwynsHarbor

I was just reading through GOP.com’s RESEARCH section … here’s one point they made:

TODAY, WHILE SPEAKING ON UNIVISION, OBAMA SAID THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF HIS FIRST TERM WAS NOT PASSING IMMIGRATION REFORM

Obama: “My Biggest Failure So Far Is We Haven’t Gotten Comprehensive Immigration Reform Done.” UNIVISION’s JORGE RAMOS: “What is your biggest failure?” OBAMA: “Well, Jorge as you remind me, my biggest failure so far is we haven’t gotten comprehensive immigration reform done, so we’re going to be continuing to work on that. But it’s not for lack of trying or desire.” (President Barack Obama, Univision Town Hall, Miami, FL, 9/20/12)

EVERY OTHER TIME HE HAS BEEN ASKED, OBAMA HAS CLAIMED THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OF HIS FIRST TERM WAS NOT TELLING A STORY TO THE AMERICAN PEOPLE

    One

Obama Thinks His Challenges Exist Because He Forgot To Tell A “Story.” “He was especially alive to the power of a story to influence the American public. He believed he had been elected chiefly because he had told a story; he thought he had had problems in office because he had, without quite realizing it, ceased to tell it.” (Michael Lewis, “Obama’s Way,”Vanity Fair, 9/12) .. (more examples)

    • getfitnow

And what about the unemployed? I guess they don’t matter or is that a goal attained?

      • http://twitter.com/beyondpartisan beyond partisan

    • elizabethrc

Could he be more blatant in his pandering? That ‘greatest failure’ changes, depending on his audience. The man is about as genuine as a dog’s leavings.

  • HELENK2

In 2008 we knew backtrack would not be a good president. But I do not think anyone could imagine he would be so terrible for the country. Who would expect flag desecration from a president? He is trying to bring down everything great about this country. drain the wealth, divide the people, embolden our enemies, and alienate our friends.
I do not understand why the media will not stop covering for him. He is not their friend. Without democracy there is no free press. If they write an article, or make a statement on a tv show that his ME friends do not like, do they think he will stand up for them? guess what guys HE WON”T. What is the media’s gain?
they have lost the respect of a lot of the country, advertising is down, a carnival barker has more credibility .
I really wish someone could explain it.

    • getfitnow

My best guess is it’s about the idealogy. The fact that Liberalism’s current “hood ornament” is a black man is an added benefit and supporting him makes them more virtuous somehow.

What surprised me was not the extremism of Obama, but how the entire Democratic Party has moved in that direction. Real Blue Dogs appear to be a thing of the past.

      • HObama HObamanana

Considering Obama’s appetite preferences, if I was a blue dog I’d be hightailing it out of town and out of the “party.”

The only thing that I did not imagine was that it would be so obvious. And that despite that, his sycophants and media supplicants would still try to cover it up so intensely.

And his media supplicants are paying a price for their slobbering love affair:

Good. It’s encouraging to know that at least people are beginning to demonstrate a little common sense.

          • KenoshaMarge

Perhaps more than we know. Perhaps many who saw what happened to the Hillary supporters in 2008 and don’t want to have to endure that. So they may keep their heads down, their mouths shut, and vote against Obama.

            Here’s another take:

Why Romney Is Going to Romp over Obama in November

For those of you fretting over the latest “FoxNews/ABC-CBS-NBC/Wall Street Journal/USAToday/Perth Amboy Times/And Whatnot” poll showing Obama 300 points ahead of Romney in the race for the presidency, do yourself a big favor – ignore it, and everything like it.

I have for months now, and it’s been great for my blood pressure. When a TV news report on the latest polls comes on television, I instantly change the channel. When I hear the word “poll” on my radio, I quickly switch stations. When I happen upon a newspaper article or column about polls, I promptly flip to the funny pages.

As a former journalist, I’ve learned that most polls commissioned by news outlets are done not to reflect reality, but to distort it.

In the same way Hollywood has discovered it can cheaply fill airtime with so-called “reality shows,” news outlets have found they can fill their pages with polls.

Book it: Romney’s going to win this election in a romp come November. I’m certain of this because there is a key factor that’s being overlooked this time around — blacks have lost their passion for Obama.

I see that loss reflected in the faces of my fellow blacks, who at the mention of Obama’s name no longer beam with rapturous joy — something we blacks normally reserve for winning lottery tickets and intimate getaways with persons not our spouses.

As the saying went in the ‘hood where I grew up: “If he looks happy, he’s either hit the number or he’s cheating.”

Quite effective. A shame they don’t include a bit about Morsi the Truther.

Historically, the Brotherhood has been one of the more consistent purveyors of anti-American and anti-Israeli sentiment. While some Brotherhood leaders, particularly lead strategist Khairat El Shater, are less strident in their condemnations and less willfully creative with their conspiracy theories in private, Morsi is not. In a conversation with me, he volunteered his views on the 9/11 terrorist attacks without any prompting. “When you come and tell me that the plane hit the tower like a knife in butter,” he said, shifting to English, “then you are insulting us. How did the plane cut through the steel like this? Something must have happened from the inside. It’s impossible.”

Helen, I don’t know if this link (I’m a subscriber) will work any better — the WSJ is often very difficult to access online, even for subscribers. If the link doesn’t allow access to the entire article, I can tell you that in the print edition, it’s on the upper right front page, above the fold. And it describes in detail what is known so far about the events leading up to and during the Benghazi attack, the security (and lack thereof) situation, miscues, etc. One thing I’m still curious about is why the ambassador was even there and what happened to him between the time the building caught fire and hours later when his body turned up at the hospital. There are no details whatsoever about any of this. It makes me suspect that rape and torture did indeed occur and the WH and State are keeping the info under wraps because they know how shocking and inflammatory it is.

I’ve never understood flag burners. If someone has an issue with the policies of our government they can exhibit that concern using the rights embodied in our Constitution. And if they really want to make a point with the flag they can fly it upside down. Burning the flag is just desecration, destruction. It’s something done by intolerant religious barbarians that easily get their feelings hurt and liberals.

      • FLDemFem

Actually, the proper way to dispose of a flag that has been desecrated is to burn it.

        “Proper Disposal of a Flag

When a U.S. flag is so worn it is no longer fit to serve as a symbol of
our country, it should be destroyed by burning in a dignified manner.
Most American Legion Posts, VFW Chapters and Boy Scout Troops regularly
conduct dignified flag burning ceremonies, often on Flag Day, June 14th.
Contact your local American Legion Hall, VFW Chapter or Boy Scout Troop
to inquire about the availability of this service. NEVER THROW A FLAG
        IN THE GARBAGE!”

        • HObama HObamanana

I did not know that. Never a boy scout or member of the military.

leave it to a foreign TV station to do what our msm refuses to do. Ask hard questions , expect truthful answers.

As Romney put it, Obama not only raised the white flag regarding his inability to change Washington from the inside, he also raised his own flag, the one that replaces the stars with the “O” logo. He should be challenged on that as well. Never imagined a President with such disrespect for our real flag, and, by that action, disrespect for all who have died to defend it. And all this as black flags are being raised over our embassies/consulates, and only a week after four U.S. citizens were murdered as those black flags were being waved. Hope the Obamas and their army of supporters march the hell out of Washington, D.C. into their own country, where they can fly their “O” flag and live in their fantasy nation. For the time being, looks like their next stop will be “The View,” where they’ll get an interview more to their liking.
Here’s the link to the rest of the Univision interview where Obama responds to the “you broke your promise” challenge from Jorge Ramos who reminded him that during the first two years he had both houses of Congress controlled by his own party:

It isn’t an accident that black Al Qaeda banners replaced our flag and our President made clear he would not defend our freedom of speech while promoting his own new flag.

most hispanics are very religeous and devoted to their church and obama has done nothing but diss the catholic church.

      • HObama HObamanana

Romney needs someone like Rubio and/or Santorum out on the trail making certain all Catholics are aware of that fact.

One wonders how much they would like living in the Middle East, with all of the strictures they would have to endure in daily life.

    • HObama HObamanana

I can’t decide which is worse, the cluelessness or the arrogance.

  • http://www.projectweavers.com/ Matthew J. Weaver

So, Obama can’t change things from the inside as president? And even with initial control of the House and Senate. Fine, let’s vote him out of office in November and he can try again from the outside.

If he couldn’t change Washington from the in-most place like the White House, why then does he want four more years in there? And why should the country continue to pay him to party and play golf?

        • DianaLC

Exactly—his answers make absolutley no sense whatsoever.

Last night I heard that Obama has a strong lead among women in Virginia. Having been born and bred there, I have to ask if there are any dumber women in the entire country?!
I have little respect for people who so selectively block out Obama’s many, many weaknesses and failures and hang onto stale and unproved promises he made in 2008 and every day since! Their failure to recognize truth when it is so clear is one of the reasons this country is headed toward a controlled, censored electorate, a la the Soviet way.
While I take Ulstermann with a large grain of salt, his latest is that Obama has a bigger part in this ME uprising which is spreading than any of us think. He points to massive arms having been sent there by Obama, among other things.
He still doesn’t get it. Americans will not (in spite of the aforesaid cultists) remain inactive in the face of this. Americans are arming themselves as never before and to me, this is readiness for a coming fight. He has miscalculated American outrage over the insults and threats to us and, as was said by the Japanese after Pearl Harbor, he has wakened a sleeping giant.

As a resident of Virginia, I suspect his lead is media generated and not real. During this election cycle there are practically no Obama signs or bumper stickers. None. As the same time, everywhere I drive, I see a lot of Romney yard signs. I think the area is over Obama and he should send Michelle out to Hawii to start measuring drapes.

        • elizabethrc

Matthew, I hope you are right about the media generated lead for Obama. I am hearing more and more challenges to the makeup of the polling where Democrats are over polled by as much as 12%. I also hope you’re right about the public seeing through the Obama propaganda.
Here in Connecticut I see no yard signs, no bumper stickers for Obama (and very few for Romney). It seems strange that I see few of either. Maybe the public are just tired of the campaigning. I know I’m tired of the robocalls.
The most telling thing about the worry in the WH is the prospect of Obama’s buying a house in Hawaii with a January occupancy! I hope to heaven it’s true. If they were so confident, would this be happening???

          • http://profile.yahoo.com/ND2FCCGVV2IZTTAZQTXKJTCPNI Ruth

yes elizabeth good observation. also the lack of donations is a big tell also.

        • Dave L.

I think that Obowma is so far beind in real polls that the msm is just lieing about it. We won’t know for sure, I just hope the people gon’d get discouraged and stay home in Nov.

        • http://profile.yahoo.com/ND2FCCGVV2IZTTAZQTXKJTCPNI Ruth

thanks matthew! i took a graduate course in statistics and i can tell you for a fact just like the media lies the pollsters are fudging also. they use exaggerated numbers for turn out of the dems and AA community leading to skewed poll results hoping that the public will fall for it. “figures don’t lie but liars figure.” Rasmussen comes cloest to a real count. the big money is spent on private internal polling and i have heard from well infomred people that obama is in a lot more trouble than we will ever know from our hapless lamestream media.

        • Roninstia

No Obama yard signs at all on my 15 mile commute thru Raleigh NC and only a select few new bumper stickers. There are a few RR yard signs but not a lot. I will say this anonymously here: Raleigh is the state capital with many state employees (of which I am one) and a failed one-term d-rat governor. We hesitate to jeopardize our jobs and upset AA coworkers….same thing with going public on FB. (p.s. I just threw out my Hillary and McCain yard signs last trash pickup.)

      • jrterrier

I think the Republicans in the VA legislature really shot themselves in the foot with the requirement for a transvaginal ultrasound before any woman can get an abortion. It was one of those bills that just created a huge backlash by a large percentage of women.

        • http://www.projectweavers.com/ Matthew J. Weaver

I live in Virginia and haven’t heard a single mention of this since the few days it was in the news. I definitely can’t imagine anyone, woman or otherwise, judging Romney on this single point.
Me, I’m deciding on a vote for Kane or non-vote for Senate as Allen will not get my vote. Anyone flying and thinking it’s cute to display the Confederate flag will not get my vote. Some say Allen, who grew up mostly in California, did this to fit in with a group here in Virginia. I see it as a character defect just the samr as people like Haley Barbour will never get my support or vote.
