Late Open Thread * Bill Nye The Science Guy

Way, way back … long before he was famous. Before he had a show on PBS. Before he did commercials with famous people. Before he had a recurring guest role on Numb3rs. Way, way back, long ago …

What is goin’ on?

LOL–glad he found a better character!

Ha – that is hilarious! I remember when speed walking was a trend and this totally nails how ridiculous it can be. :-)

Okay, no match for Fineo’s video’s or Hill buzz’s but oh well, please go here and sign a thank you card to Governor Palin.

I’ve had a good laugh. Very funny. Thanks, NQ.

Hope Obama doesn’t need Speed Walker to improve the economy or handle the terror crisis in Asia. :)

We’re all proud in the Seattle area that Bill Nye moved up from the local version of SNL, “Almost Live”,(from which this skit was taken) to become a national figure. True talent coupled with an origional approach is bound to succeed. That’s why I have great optimism for Sarah Palin.

And because I have such a strong belief that talent coupled with an origional approach will succeed, I know that Obama will do just fine because he is so talented in…..ahh…….well……hmm…..OH!…nah…,well he’s original because ……..let’s see……let me think………ah shit, we’re screwed!

This is a clip from a Seattle Comedy Sketch show from back in the 90′s. John Keister (I do not lie) was the host and it was Seattle’s Late Saturday Night Live.

The High Fiving White Guys were pretty good, too.

I loved the show. I lived in the same building as Bill Nye for a while. Funny guy–not that sociable though. However, his kids show is fantastic.

    Seattle Moss should love this!

Met Nye in 1996 when he came out to a research ship upon which I was employed when we were diving on the Juan de Fuca Ridge. Nice fellow, laughed easily, listened to our sea stories. I took him over to a Canadian ship in a Zodiac in a heavy sea, and he was a trouper.

LOL, I’ve been a Bill Nye fan for decades. He’s funny, he’s entertaining, and he’s got some clever ideas.

I love Bill Nye. Always did, always will.

Oh, and you forgot his guest appearance on Stargate Atlantis.

  • Teresaa

Almost Live was WAY funnier than Saturday Night Live ever tried to be.

    • mkm125

      I have to agree!

  • Choo Choo Magoo

Too too funny! Go Speed Walker!!!
