From my favorite newspaper in my region:

all books about Hillary Clinton

Obama was to be joined by the New York senator at a Chicago news conference Monday, Democratic officials said, where he also planned to announce that Defense Secretary Robert Gates would remain in his job for a year or more and that retired Marine General James L. Jones would serve as national security adviser. … Read all at the Seattle P.I.

Susan’s Note: The P.I. was very pro-Obama, but I am touched that they chose those flattering photos of Hillary, unlike the New York Post which always — always — finds the worst possible photos of her.

I will remember that gesture by this newspaper which, sadly, is struggling and has been for years. Newspapers are another business caught in the stranglehold of some very pushy unions that need to get reasonable.

::::::::::

I am so damn proud of my Hillary that my britches are burstin’!

::::::::::

Here’s a bit more from the newspaper story — and we all KNOW that Hillary will have no problem being confirmed, but this had to be done in order to placate the Republicans and the Clinton naysayers:

To make it possible for his wife to become the top U.S. diplomat, the officials said, former President Clinton agreed:

-to disclose the names of every contributor to his foundation since its inception in 1997 and all contributors going forward.

-to refuse donations from foreign governments to the Clinton Global Initiative, his annual charitable conference.

-to cease holding CGI meetings overseas.

-to volunteer to step away from day-to-day management of the foundation while his wife is secretary of state.

-to submit his speaking schedule to review by the State Department and White House counsel.

-to submit any new sources of income to a similar ethical review.

Bill Clinton’s business deals and global charitable endeavors had been expected to create problems for the former first lady’s nomination. But in negotiations with the Obama transition team, the former president agreed to several measures designed to bring transparency to those activities.

“It’s a big step,” said Sen. Richard G. Lugar of Indiana, the top Republican on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, who said he plans to vote to confirm Clinton.

The former president long had refused to disclose the identities of contributors to his foundation, saying many gave money on condition that they not be identified.

Lugar said there would still be “legitimate questions” raised about the former president’s extensive international involvement. “I don’t know how, given all of our ethics standards now, anyone quite measures up to this who has such cosmic ties, but … hopefully, this team of rivals will work,” Lugar said.

Obama’s choice of Hillary Clinton was an extraordinary gesture of good will after a year in which the two rivals competed for the Democratic nomination in a long, bitter primary battle.

They clashed repeatedly on foreign affairs. Obama criticized Clinton for her vote to authorize the Iraq war. Clinton said Obama lacked the experience to be president and she chided him for saying he would meet with leaders of nations such as Iran and Cuba without conditions. …

  • KintheNorthwest

I still think Obama is using Hillary…at the first sign of problems they will blame Hillary and Bill.
But oh well she is a big girl now.

    • WildChild

That accusation will just be another blow to the fragile BOBOweenie psyche. They are using BOBO’s “judgment”, and how they trust it, as the rational to get the big ol nasty poison pill of Hillary down their skinny little throats.

    • obamaisayoyo

Obama has no choice but to use Hillary and all the other Clinton administration people. Because he has no clue what is required of a president.

    • noproblama

I always knew this is what happened with the election but I think I finally got my mind around it:

Obama with all his pop and ethnic cultural hype, appealed to two largely untapped and easily influenced demographics; people of color and young people.

Once the DNC figured out they could pander to and mobilize large numbers of these groups there was never a doubt which candidate they would select, even though they knew his shortcomings probably better than we.

Now, was there ever any intention of letting Obama set policy or govern in the way these groups were led to believe? Hell no. It’s the same old Democratic party with a new ad campaign and spokesperson. Because that’s all Obama is, a spokesperson.

As we’ve noted here, this strategy has winning potential beyond this election unless the sheeple figure out they’ve been thrown under the bus.

  • politicsIsDirty

    CHANGE, CHANGE, CHANGE.

The most inexperienced President as stated by the most controversial(who lacks judgment) soon to be secretary of State as stated by the most inexperienced President elect.

  • TeakWoodKite

Obama’s choice of Hillary Clinton was an extraordinary gesture of good will after a year in which the two rivals competed for the Democratic nomination in a long, bitter primary battle.

was an extraordinary gesture of good will Bullsh9*&t!

“good will” had NOTHING to do with it.

And can you tell me why such a level of “bondage” is required of Bill Clinton?

What a Scam and very dissapointing to me.
It is a darn good thing Hillary accepted the position.

    • sowsear

I wouldn’t bet spit that this arrangement will last even one term. PEBO wants her out of the Senate and under his thumb. His psyche is far too fragile to have Hillary out there on her own.
I’m sick to think of all of the dishonorable people who have not only allowed PEBO to happen but have promoted him.

      • rolling_thunder

It looks like Hillary will be part of BOBO’S shadow government. HE NEEDS her and Big Dawg. He can’t fire her.

        • RebelCarol

          He can’t fire her.

Oh yes he can. It would be reported as her resignation to spend more time with family or some other excuse. But he can terminate her.

I still say that Hillary is not thinking clearly in “taking” this job offer. But I wish her the best — knowing that nothing good can come from the Obamanation.

      • cleffnote

I don’t know if anyone has suggested this yet but I think just for insurance sake, Bill should take over Hillary’s Senate seat for now. Now that’s change I can believe in.

        • KintheNorthwest

That should be the only deal that the Clintons should go for.

        • WiidChild

that…. would be very cool. But I think Big Dawg has been playing first fiddle for far too long to take you up on it.

I don’t know if I am being naive, but what does Bill Clinton’s foundation have to do with national security? Seems like the BO administration wants to hamstring the Clintons any way he can. I am thrilled that Hillary will be the SOS. If she is allowed to do her job, without too much interference from BO, I think she will do a fabulous job.

nasuS here: I harbor no fears for my Hillary.

She is a hundred times stronger and sturdier than I or Obama all put together.

She is a thousand times more experienced in dealing with treachery, treason, palace intrigue, and the MSM’s agendas than all of us put together.

I focus on all the good that she can, and will, do. Most of that, we know, will not be reported by the MSM (and she knows that) — which is why I used the e-mail addresses I have — and never have used before because it is critical not to abuse such privileged information, and I wrote to her closest and most prominent confidantes, and asked them to encourage her to 1) have a blog, 2) have a YouTube channel, 3) invite us “citizen journalists” through conference calls or however, just so that HER story, unfiltered, can get out to all of us.

I also asked them to suggest to her that she do a monthly or quarterly 10+-minute video for school children around the nation that is about a country in which she is working on a program to help that nation’s peoples and to tell the kids about that country, where it is on a map, what its people look like, what its wildlife looks like, what the country needs, what the country has to offer, and what its crises are, and whatever else she’d like to convey to children.

Someone i heard yesterday said that 40% of (students? all Americans?) cannot locate MEXICO on a map. Dear lord.

I so wish that one of YOU who has a video camera could go around wherever you live, and ask such questions. But not just to make fun of the ignorance of most Americans but also to ask them, if they get it wrong, “Would you like to know where Mexico is?” And show them. And share some important facts about Mexico that they surely don’t know. Etc., etc. You’d need to upload your video to YouTube.

Again, it is not to belittle. Its ultimate goal is to educate, one person at a time. And to share with them that it will help our Secretary of State — can they name that person? — to inform our citizenry about what we are doing around the world. And it will help their children and grandchildren if they can share such information. And so on.

      • Galt

Hey I wish her luck, she should do fine. But I am still disappointed in her campaigning for him and taking this job. I hold no grudge and sincerely wish her luck.

      • bemused

I live 120 miles from Mexico, in an Hispanic neighborhood. The Anglos in other neighborhoods are pretty sure Mexico starts about where I am. The Anglos from out of town think New Mexico is the northern tip of Mexico. The Hispanics not only know where Mexico is but how to get there and back in the most efficient way(legally and illegally, which means more detailed geography). On the other hand, many aren’t too sure about Oregon. :) Years ago I found that it’s pretty much the same all over, actually.

I think this is just the Hillary-BO psychological warfare continuing, this time, inside the White House. I just don’t see how these two can work together. Hillary must have a bigger soul than most to be his subordinate, since he essentially stole the Presidency from her.

If his base supporters don’t get their mortgages paid and their gas tanks filled, he won’t see a second term. If the far left loonies don’t get their heads around the Clinton administration era picks, there won’t be enough support on the nets for a second term …. I think he’s a Jimmy Carter special.

    • C.S.

I can’t imagine anything that would point out the double standards applied to this election more than President Clinton being minutely “investigated” so his wife might, perhaps, maybe (depending on That One’s mood) become Secretary of State of an Obama administration that has at least six court cases – two of them before the Supreme Court – hanging over his head like the Sword of Damocles which need to be taken care of before we get too deep in an administration that looks less legal than Bush II, if you can imagine that!

Mr. Soertoro, Obama, or whatever the name of the day is, gets to start appointing people to an administration of a man who hasn’t been cleared by the courts to serve. Cart before the horse big time! Looks like the FBI should have a chat with the Kenyan Ambassador and get him to show them that famous Obama birthplace Kenya has been bragging about.

  • http://www.nowwhospeaksforme.com soldier4hillary

I am proud of the accomplishments made by Clinton past and present and I do think she would do a outstanding job based on the things I initially researched prior to voting for her in the primary. However, as I always note her accomplishments I am not blind to the faults.

But my initial gut feeling on this appointment was that it was a red herring based on what I always viewed in the primary when negativity would arise surrounding President elect Obama and the next day some super d like Richardson or Edwards would come out the next day to show whatever it was about to come up was a “non issue” which could be seen by someone endorsing him the next day.

I would love to believe that they saw the “light” and realized she would do a outstanding job and that Senator Clinton would excel tremendously in this position. However I believe that it is being announced on Monday just to dim the whole court case with the BC issue to take away the impact and focus. We knew it was coming for a while so this announcement serves a purpose on Monday. Other than asking why “Monday” and not before Thanksgiving.

To send the silent message that it’s not really a serious issue if Senator Clinton was accepting the position and President Clinton was damn near providing everything and then some to ensure his wife gets the position.

I am sure when they do eventually start talking about it in the MSM the focus will be that if it was so “serious” why would the Clintons do everything to this extent to get the job etc etc and if it was a valid issue it should of been there job to inform the masses etc etc….basically attempting to make it there fault in some way. Sorry, no one goes to that extent to get rid of competition and literally attempt to destroy a past administration to give there rival a job. Because if “bygones” were “bygones” someone would of attempted to step forward during the continued CDS bashing. But as I have learned it is just “politics” as usual.

It would have to be serious to have someone of Clintons stature side by side with Obama stealing his limelight. She shows him up every time. Look at the difference in there remarks on Mumbai. What I am super duper glad about is the fact people will get to see first hand the big difference in approach to foreign affairs. Yes, she serves at the leisure of the President.

But I will take Senator Clinton any day in this position than the thought of individuals like Richardson or Kerry who turned on individuals to give a endorsement because of the “prospect” or backroom deal of having the position.

She will do a outstanding job despite the fact of anything that happened this past year. I am sure it angers his supporters. I mean they are still quoting the whole “bring us from Iraq theme” not realizing that on the 17th the Iraqi Parliament voted 149 to 198 on a SOFA to have us out by the end of Dec 2011. Maliki is the one getting the recognition of ending the American occupation apparently.

Oh well…I need to get my Clinton SOS graphics ready for Monday.

    • sowsear

You’re exactly right about the timing of the SOS announcement, meant to deflect ANY notice of the Supreme Court decision on the birth certificate issue. I don’t think any of the MSM were planning on mentioning it anyway, but BO wants to make sure he’s still in charge in every newsline.

      • http://www.nowwhospeaksforme.com soldier4hillary

What I never understood is how no one can see the possible damage news outlets can inflict by endorsing candidates. What they did to Senator Clinton during the primaries is not “water under the bridge” it should be the new battle cry for change.

What happens when they begin to NOT report info based on the fact they support a candidate or president? How do we know we are getting the truth? They have the power to make or break a elected official by painting everything in one light. It should scare the crap out of people when each station has the exact same talking point when you change the channel.

I know they will attempt to give the impression that things will be “Hillary’s fault” but that mean we have to work harder and not get caught up in the excitement. I am glad she has the position but that does not mean anyone should rest easy. The real battle is about to begin on 20 January. I am going to be on everything and every move she makes like white on rice.

The unity pony is one legged and I don’t really care about this political party unity meme. To much is going on in this country and we need facts and not distortions of truth reported as such. I want to focus on how she handles and executes her new office to be able to contribute to deflecting blows from the MSM propaganda machine.

The MSM has lost credibility the moment they stopped reporting the news. They have to pay the bills just like we do to keep the lights on. Meaning they will report and say what is popular no better than some reality news show.

International news organizations I believe will be the ones breaking news stories and will provide what we will not get here. This was a big debate at my house on Thanksgiving. 90 percent of my family is military and prior service. We argued this down and thank god for NQR because I was able to back up my claims by showing them past articles on a whole sh^tload of info they look the other way on. The only reason they even bothered to read it was because me and my brother in Japan placed a 1,000 dollar wager against my ex marine brother and two of my cousins in the Navy who retired last month that they wont hear jack sh^it about the lawsuits next week in the MSM or any negativity at ALL about the new administration. I aim to collect on the 21st of January.

He grew up in Indonesia under the roof of a Muslim — and his core beliefs were formed while he was a child in Indonesia. He is a user — whatever he promised to Hillary — aren’t worth anything because Obama is a serial liar.

Why are they bowing to HIM? Unless the Clintons have some serious leverage against Obama?

They know Obama lies and cheats and steals — and should be in jail, along with Rezko. If Rezko is guilty — then so is Obama. What Obama did was worse — because Obama was an ELECTED official — and Rezko was “just” a businessman.

  • http://insightanalytical.wordpress.com InsightAnalytical-GRL

I agree that Hillary is being used, but she is allowing it, which makes me even more angry! You can bet that she will be taking all the hits from the media about anything that goes awry with our foreign policy, while Barky cuts her down behind the scenes and probably tosses her…after all, she’s serving HIM at HIS pleasure…

So, Clinton coughs up all his info, but Barky’s is still shrouded in secrecy…what the hell kind of deal was THAT???? I don’t know whom I madder at…Barky, the Clintons, the media, the American public, McCain…hell, I’m mad at ALL of them…As for Daschle’s wife…well I wrote about that, too, in all gory detail last week! http://www.topix.com/forum/business/mining/T0JQNN0MHLUEAINGB#lastPost

President elect Barack Obama is planning to nominate for Secretary Of The Interior,
      Arizona Congressman Raul Grijalva.
Grijalva has acknowledged that he once belonged to, and still supports a radical Anti-U.S. organization called MEChA. This radical organization is working for Mexican Reconquista, the return to Mexico of the seven southwestern states of the U.S.
In support of this program Grijalva promotes open borders and opposes a border fence and voter ID requirements.
In fact, Grijalva refers to patriotic Americans who oppose open borders and support voter ID requirements as “cockroaches”.

      • Robo

Fear not. My sources are indicating that his true Iranian birth certificate will be “leaked” any day now, along with the Whitey Tape.

All we need now is for President Bush to be vigilant and strong, and declare martial law so this foreign usurper can not perform his silent coup on America.

        • WildChild

are you kidding me? (LMAO) We’re never going to see BOBO’s birth certificate. If BOBO had any intention of giving it up he would have done so the first time the question was raised. Now it’s into the thousands.

    • sowsear

How will that help now? I doubt anyone in the electoral college will stand up against him, and I’m equally sure that the Supreme Court will find someway to rule for BO in the birth certificaste issue. Even though there are 17 suits out there at this time, it seems there are no honorable men in charge anywhere willing to rule against him.

      • Robo

17 suits is no laughing matter, and I’m sure any sane judge could plainly see that. The more suits brought against him the better, as the number of suits is a direct correlation to the truthfulness of those leveling the charges. Why would 17 different people lie about something of such grave importance? Answer: they wouldn’t.

When his Iranian birth certificate is revealed he’ll be over. The Whitey Tape will finish off what remains of his political career back in Chicago.

Come to think of it, Soetorobama paid a secret visit to Iran leader/spokesperson, Ahmenijhad during Barry’s citizen of the world tour.
But he is a citizen of Indonesia and Kenya.
Thus Barry Soetoro does admit to having dual citizenship, only he doesn’t specify that it’s with Indonesia and Kenya! Another sin of omission.

            Drive-by Troll!

        • WildChild

the people filing the suits want BOBO to prove his citizenship. They are being totally honest about that and as it is a requirement to be natural born to be president, they are well within there rights as citizens to make the request. It’s only your lord and savior BOBO O’pampers that is dragging this thing out now. Give him a call and tell him to put up so we can get this thing over with. You have nothing to be scared of right?

          • Robo

You must have me confused with someone else.

You’ll see. This week his Iranian citizenship will be revealed for all to see. We’re going to take this foreigner down!

            • Strawberrybitch

              ‘Iranian citizenship’?
              You are undereducated and misinformed.

Post the so-called Iranian birth certificate here. Kenya stupid. He was born in Kenya. They have a shrine at his birth place in Kenya. Now go play with the neighbor kids. Fresh air will do ya good.

If someone has the Whitey tape, why didn’t they release it before election day?

      • Robo

Because this is chess, not checkers.

which means it’s already out of play

I dont think there is a whitey tape.

My, my! An NQer says Emperor Larry has no clothes. I’ve got to hand it to you, KintheNorthwest, you’ve got some sense in you.

The last time I mentioned the whitey tape, Larry deleted my post.

Larry was just taking out the garbage, troll.

          • Defcon 1

Don’t celebrate too quickly. Larry is not the only person with access to moderate. He may or may not have deleted your comment if you actually left one. If it was deleted, its because this issue has been explained over and over again with the same misinformation from Larry’s critics no matter how many times the situation has been explained. Larry never claimed to see the tape. He was reporting what people he trusted had told him. He does not posses the tape if it exists and obviously can’t release it as has also been demanded by his critics. I am not accusing you personally of misinformation because I have not seen your original comment. Your comment that got deleted may have been caught up in a bit of overzealous moderation due to the constant attacks on Larry’s character, assuming your comment did not contain any misinformation or character attack.

            • Ferd Berfle

Smitty is well known around these parts as a teller of tall tales, so to speak.

      • rolling_thunder

        They had death threats.

      • beebop

Because the stink that would stay on the person who released it wasn’t worth it? No one would believe it was real? The damage to racial relations between whites and blacks is already at a 20 year low?

        Just pick one.

  • The Robot

Barack hates confrontation; but wants, nay yearns only to be adored.

He needs a ‘heavy’ to take the heat he cannot stand – Clinton is tough, but most of all, she will be the person to deflect negativity from the One.

Therefore, Barack takes credit for the successes of the most outstanding Hillary (his prescience and judgment now again apparent), while troublesome world frictions are directed more so at the vilified Clinton.

Barack can then play the magnanimous protector of Hillary while she in turn is the true protector of Barack fragile persona.

Just my take; requires some tweaking perhaps. It’s damn funny though, seeing those leftists’ reactions … Barack really ran the ol’ okey-doke on them!

  • KintheNorthwest

This also could be a way to totally silence the two of them….If she gets totally dished then she just might have to give up her political career.
Remember Bill once said he would tell all in January.

    Hmmmm

    • sowsear

Not now he won’t. That was the threat for Hill to get something out of this catastophe.

  • ranger

They are trying to get her seat open.

    When she becomes the SOS,,,,,

She will be awesome, but despite her being awesome, they will somehow find fault with the Clinton’s….. an oversite in Bill’s financial business or Obama gets someone to get her to resign because he never wanted her……A SCANDAL…………they will crucify the Clintons………….as the press always does and did………..the press will do Obama’s dirty work for him.
Don’t you think it to be rather fucked up that the bitch who called Hillary a monster during the primary is hired back on to Obama’s team working on the agenda of Hillary as SOS?

    THE TRUTH IS…………………………….

THE KENNEDY’S WANT THAT SENATE SEAT FOR EITHER CAROLINE OR ROBERT.

TEDDY IS THE QB OF THIS WHOLE DEAL.

Obama wants Caroline Kennedy to have that Senate seat of Hillary’s.

I do not want her to give that seat up for any reason. Hillary is falling in to a big trap and Obama cannot be trusted.

    • sowsear

Right, my take on it also.

    • Robo

Those damn Kennedy’s… We almost took care of them.

    • KintheNorthwest

I fear you guys are right….

But she should had stood her ground all the way through the convention….

    • rolling_thunder

NOPE. He needs Hillary and he knows it. She’s there for the long haul. Plus he gets a two-fer. Lately he’s been saying that word. He said it during the Baba wawwa interview this week. He’s getting a two-fer and he knows it. He will not do anything to mess this good thing up. They are the only adults on his team now. The others look like a bunch of pre-adolescent school boys waitng for lunch in their school caffeteria and wondering what they get.

    • rolling_thunder

Oh Caroline Kennedy, descendent of Joe Kennedy, a major player in the mafia and money laundering. Made his money illegally and bought the Cape Cod spread (mansion)…Great ancestoral lines huh?
Caroline Kennedy doesn’t know her arse from a hole in the ground. She needs to go home. She has NO EXPERIENCE what-so-ever!

    • http://moderateinthemiddle.wordpress.com/ ginaswo

I hear Andrew Cuomo for this seat

    • beebop

Caroline Kennedy? Maybe she has the US Senate confused with the Illinois State Senate and doesn’t understand how many days she’d have to WORK … you know, that pesky 9ish to 5ish thingy.

  • Mercedes

I have lately developed the feeling that Hillary may have negotiated this position with Obama when she “suspended” her campaign in June. He really did need the Clintons support to win and he really does owe her. Of course, that will not stop Obama and his band of merry thugs from TRYING to use and abuse Hillary. The suggestions from nasuS above would be a very good immunization against the nasty and vicious germs that will certainly be planted by the Clintons’ enemies.

The way I will judge Obama’s true intentions is to listen to the comments about Hillary from Obama’s enablers at MSNBC and CNN. They will be speaking for the FRAUD.

  • Strawberrybitch

Watching Bill jump through hoops just to please Barky and his puss filled sycophants just pisses me the hell off. It still amazes me people can dare to call the Clintons crooked. I’ve never seen such scrutiny in my life. There is NO WAY Barky could pass this type of pressure. I LOATHE Barky.

  • hootnannie

You think Obama would want the Clintons as enemies? If he ignored her, or if he embraces her as SoS only to toss her out in time, he would have to fear having them–especially Bill–out in the world as loose cannons, criticizing his every misstep. And the Clintons are too powerful for him to just trample over.
Dick Morris, get out the whiskey. You’re going to need plenty of it tomorrow night.
It’s back to the future! Wheeeeee!!

  • rolling_thunder

Like I said earlier, if these were not such tough times, Big Dawg would have said bite it! We need Hillary and the Dawg knows it.

They will be speaking for the FRAUD

They will be speaking for US. It’s us who she holds in her mind. America…Lady Liberty!

Gotta say though..all this after he started the abuse of the “sniper fire” story and twisted the story out of context. It nearly ruined Hillary..now she has the SoS seat because seh does have experience after all-hmmm..we’ll see/tomorrow.

  • Typewriterstreaming

Hillary is an awesome talent, but Obama is President and he can try anything he likes. Hopefully he’ll realize that the more this country tanks the less he has and – out of his own self preservation – maybe he’ll let her do her job. I can’t stand Obama, don’t trust him a lick, but hope to heaven he finds a conscience.

  • Kelderek

The Govenor of New York should name the replacement senator for Hillary’s seat——-Announcing Senator BILL CLINTON! The left & right extremists would go nuts and the Clintons would own this seat forever!

  • RebelCarol

Question: Will the Constitutional Lawyer soon to be President of the United States use this clause as a reason why Hillary won’t be confirmed as SOS?

Constitutional prohibition in the Emoluments Clause (Article I, Section 6, clause 2)

No Senator or Representative shall, during the time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil office under the authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the emoluments whereof shall have been increased during such time: and no person holding any office under the United States, shall be a member of either House during his continuance in office.

    (Emphasis mine).

She is an elected Senator (of course, she will have to resign), but the SOS salary (emolument) was increased in January 2008.

As quoted by Professor Eugene Volokh at the Gary T. Schwartz Professor of Law at UCLA School of Law:

“it is beyond dispute that Senator Clinton is currently ineligible for appointment as secretary of State.”

Of course a few former Presidents have gotten around this Constitutional Article, but I’m wondering with the dislike for Hillary so strong that this will become a constitutional issue to keep her from becoming SOS. Also, the Obama team will have achieved their main goal of finding out where President Clinton’s contributions and salaries have come from.

    To read more go to:
    http://www.redstate.com/diaries/redstate/2008/nov/30/obama-to-nominate-hillary-as-secretary-of-sta/

    • lorac

It could be the trap. If they “allow” her to break the constitutional rules in order to take SOS, then they can “allow” him to break the constitutional rules of eligibility for POTUS.

    • http://moderateinthemiddle.wordpress.com/ ginaswo

the Nixon Admin found a way around this, chill :0)

    • bemused

No, she’ll resign and as of that moment she won’t be a Senator and can take the post.

      • workingclass artist

Barky will just lower the salary…That’s how Nixon got around it…

    • Ferd Berfle

Question: Will the Constitutional Lawyer soon to be President of the United States use this clause as a reason why Hillary won’t be confirmed as SOS?

That presupposes he actually IS one. His failure to understand the requirements of Article II make me think that his experience with the Constitution was only in finding ways around it.

  • rolling_thunder

OMG. That means she’ll have to reneg on this and if not them lose her seat AND the SoS. I think this article has to do with being paid higher than her current pay.

  • http://moderateinthemiddle.wordpress.com/ ginaswo

I am ecstatic!!! this is awesome, there is not a single person who i would rather see as our SoS, and I will sleep better at night and have a new optimism now that I know Hillary is able to use her wonkish glory to better the world and help the USA here and abroad

HRC is the only person I believe we can count on to resign rather than betray us or Israel, she has again chosen us first, a short term highly visible highly risky endeavor over a lifetime senate seat with no seniority for 30 years..she can help more as SoS and she and Big Dawg are giving up security and prosperity to do this and I thank them., God Bless them :0)

    W00T AND BOOYAH’!!

LOL – you guys just don’t know what to do with yourselves. Before he beat Hillary, you all said he couldn’t win the big states. He then proceeds to destroy republican brand and win states HRC would have never won. And to top it off, Obama shows how pragmatic he is and chooses HRC as his SoS. It is killing you he’s doing everything right and all you can do is complain about the media.

Try to enjoy these next 8 years being worse than republicans in hating BO.

    • Strawberrybitch

Um sure, whatever you say. The door is back that-a-way. Bye now. PS Barky bites.

          Toodles? You’re kidding right LOL

          • norm

Of course. But you’re mad and that’s all that matters. What makes it even funnier is the more successful Obama is, the madder it will make you. But hopefully, the japanese time traveling character from the show Heroes will stop and go back in time to alter history. That way, 20 or 30 of you still mad HRC isn’t president can have your wish.

Aw man….I said HOPEfully. Probably not the best word to use here, eh?

            • WiidChild

what am I mad about? It sure ain’t because toodles means good bye and yet, here you are. LOL that just confirms my hypothesis that the word of a BOBOweenie is about as useless as the word of the BOBO himself. (LMAO) Mad?! Let the troll safari begin! Ha Ha Ha Ha Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

    • The Robot

It’s far better the fraud Barack is successful as our country and therefore, our own personal successes largely depend on it.

I will try to enjoy the upcoming times – Barack’s lack of integrity notwithstanding. And yes, the pick of Hillary for SoS is very pragmatic indeed – she provides shelter for his fragile ego, in a necessary target for derision.

Only the strength of Hillary could carry the Bamboozler Barack to successful fruition – and Barack knows it, Hillary knows it, Bill knows it. But watching leftists squirm as this becomes increasingly apparent is priceless!

      • norm

And Wildchild….^^^^ this would be mad ^^^^

            • WiidChild

I never agreed to that premise. I just said he’s allowed to be mad. LOL for some reason you BOBOweenies have a serious problem with that.

        • noproblama

Doesn’t sound mad to me. In fact it sounds like The Robot is enjoying the heck out of Obama pandering to us instead of you.

          • The Robot

enjoying the heck out of Obama pandering to us instead of you.

Indeed, quite a few of us are getting a good laugh from it! :)

          • norm

            Sorry noproblama,

I love the HRC pick. I actually listened to him when he said he wanted a cross section of different voices in his cabinet. Disagreeing without being disagreeable is what he said. Not that he disagrees with HRC much. But keeping Gates and just being flat out pragmatic is making me extremely happy about my vote.

            • WiidChild

it’s really too bad that we have no way to to cross reference what you were saying about Hillary during the primaries. As such your words carry no weight. even more so since BOBOweenies have been getting amnesia at an astonishing rate about their previous stance on Hillary ever since the BOBO sold them out by giving her a job that requires foreign policy chops after spending so many months saying she had no foreign policy chops, LOL typical defense mechanism

        • The Robot

As I said it’s much better Barack is successful; and this means regardless of how I or others feel about it – understanding this is political pragmatism.

And it’s going to be a tough slog for the Hoodwinker-in-Chief; but Barack, despite having no discernible center, is of course not stupid. And so Hillary, who Barack repeatedly attacked as a liar must now prop up the One in the ways I previously stated – this is pragmatism of the highest order.

We should all hope for success; knowing the truth doesn’t change that.

  • norm

the fact that you’re responding with corny names like BOBOweenie shows your anger. We can go back and forth all night. The reality will remain: Obama will be president and as pragmatic and effective if not MORE than HRC would have been. Let it burn.

    • WiidChild

LOL there’s nothing angry about BOBOweenie. It a cute and cuddly term. It makes for a great stocking stuffer to give to your kids this holiday season. If you see anger in an innocuous term like BOBOweenie, (LMAO) you might want to take a good look inside yourself to see what’s brewing before you come here to project onto me.

      • norm

Sorry, WildChild. No time. I only have 8 years to help Ibama turn America into a far left radical/socialist elite country that taxes the air you breathe leaves the middle east unstable.

No but seriously, I hope Obama will at some point satisfy you as president of the US and not just anything HRC related. I don’t say that with any sarcasm or smack talk. You guys may never come around. And from your vantage point, there might not be much to come around to. At least not yet. But if the guy does a good job, I’d like to believe you guys will give him his just due.

        I’ll leave you be.

        • WiidChild

You can do what ever you want to.
It’s a free country and I wouldn’t have it any other way. But you’re right about one thing, the only person that has the ability to change my mind about the BOBO, is the BOBO himself. But he’s going to have a hard road in front of him because I value a persons word above all other things. And BOBO is real quick to go back on his.

          • norm

So be it. Although I don’t know one politician that hasn’t gone back or altered their word during or after a campaign once in office. And without being too offensive to HRC fans here, I’ll just say HRC is no different in that regard. there are certain promises that can’t be fulfilled immediately or ever once in office.

For all of this talk of experience throughout the campaign, none of these candidates had it. How they detailed their vision for the country and who they choose to help shape that vision are the only things you have to go on.

            Good Luck.

            • Ferd Berfle

How they detailed their vision for the country and who they choose to help shape that vision are the only things you have to go on.

So why, then, do you support the hopium and changium huckster? His vision was gobbledegook interspersed between ers, ahs, and ums. Trying to follow his disjointed expelling of gas that was supposed to be fine oratory left me wondering if there was a point besides him being infatuated with the sound of his own voice.

              • norm

Not sure what you didn’t get. Maybe it was just in eltist/liberalese. I pretty much got from the beginning he and HRC pretty much had the same stances on nearly everything. I felt BHO spent more time explaining his approach to getting things accomplished (being more inclusive, less partisanship) while HRC spent the early part expecting this to be over on Super Tuesday. It took her a minute to catch her stride. But mathematically it was too late. I actually liked what HRC was talking about during the indiana/NC primaries. She moved beyond wonkety wonk and was good form. But that’s just me. Here’s truly hoping she runs and wins in 2016.

                • WiidChild

Hillary keeps her word. BOBO doesn’t. Even with the same policy positions the BOBO is a gamble on whether he will see them through or decide to go bush on us.

                  • norm

                    Hillary keeps her word.

Nonsense…unless keeping your word doesn’t include being honest. I would also add it’s easier to keep your word when you’re not president than it is when you become president.

                    • WiidChild

nonsense? Hillary said she would support the dem nom even though you BOBOweenies said she wouldn’t. But she did. She said she would campaign for senator obama if he were the nom even though you BOBOweenies said she wouldn’t. But she did…. vigorously. Let’s contrast that to BOBO saying he could no more disown the revered wright then I could his white grandmother, just two weeks before he disowned him because his poll numbers took a hit. Or how about his opposition to telecom immunity all during the primaries only to sell us out and vote for it, because he was afraid his poll numbers might take a hit.. True character is shown by what you do when it’s hard when it might hurt, not what you do when it easy and painless. Hillary passed that test. BOBO has failed miserably.

                    • norm

LOL @ using what ANY runner up is supposed to do as an example of keeping your word and not in any way shape or form a pr/political decision.

                      Puhlease.

We got about as civil as we’re probably going to get. It’s time for me to leave. Take care.

                    • WiidChild

ok, she opposed telecom immunity AND voted against it. She voted for the use of force resolution AND never backed down, even though doing so probably cost her the primary. Falling poll number didn’t phase Hillary. She stuck to her guns even when it hurt. Under the bus isn’t a term we use to describe her behavior because of the strength of her character. Under the bus is a term we use to describe the BOBO because of the weakness of his. I’m glad you’re leaving. It’s what I would expect of a BOBOweeine when the truth about the precious, bubbles a little too close to the surface

She won’t run again and that is our country’s loss. I left the Democratic party after 32 years over this and I won’t forget. I’d rather vote for someone honest with whom I disagree than vote for someone with whom I might agree but cannot trust.

Agree Ferd…Her political career is essentially over…Although I must admit i have enjoyed speculating about Ol’ Bill…That would be a hoot of epic proportions…I will repeat in bold..lol
Bill Clinton taking over Hillary’s senate seat would be a HOOT OF EPIC PROPORTIONS…Could even raise the dead…lol

Personally, I think that’s ridiculous on a number of levels. But it’s your choice and your opinion.

Ridiculous is electing a third-stringer candidate when you have the veteran and real McCoy ready to go.

Ridiculous is not seeing Democrats and Republicans as two sides of the same dirty coin.

Ridiculous is not voting for the person, irrespective of party, who has earned trust.

Ridiculous is voting for a man to be president who can only list Community Organizer on his flimsy, transparent resume.

Ridiculous is That One as POTUS

Dang NoQuarters– I see you didn’t post my comment. I guess I was too real for you?!

    It’s all good though =-)

Rena, moderation is not in real-time. By default all comments are allowed, unless the spam filter catches it. Your comment got caught in the spam filter as a false positive. Its not a prefect system. Try re-writing it. If you try to re-post the same comment that got caught it won’t go through a second time. You can always email the admin and ask them to rescue your comment. If you do, provide a snippet of your comment, the name/email you posted it under and the link to the thread. I hope this helps.

        • Galt

If you did not totally re-write it, its probably a keyword thing. Oh well! And your quite welcome.

The appointment of Clinton is NOT a gesture of goodwill. Clinton’s acceptance IS.

Obama needs Clinton because of her qualifications and gravitas that he will never have. Also, he wants her because she has a network of support larger than his.

On the other hand, it is not clear that accepting the post is a positive for Clinton.
