Breaking News: Obama Admin Denied Real Time Requests to Help in Benghazi [Updates]

Latest Update: Charles Woods wants to know why his son Tyrone died. The father of the slain former SEAL gave a radio interview today. From the audio below: “When [Obama] came over to our little area’ at Andrew Air Force Base, says Woods, “he kind of just mumbled, you know, ‘I’m sorry.’...”

::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Jennifer Griffin writes at Fox News that the Obama administration denied at least three real-time requests for help in Benghazi, that the nearby team that eventually went to help did so explicitly against orders, that there were two drones overhead (at least one with lasers pointed at the attacking mortars), air support on standby, and troops within hundreds of miles immediately ready to help. (Re evidence of air/troop support, see Larry Johnson’s post and listen to Larry on Batchelor’s radio show last night.) Against all of this, Fox News says everyone was told repeatedly to stand down while the firefights went on for over seven hours.

VIDEO BELOW:

If this is true and can be substantiated, Barack Obama needs to seriously explain himself, especially why the White House and State Department watched this live and not only refused action when repeatedly requested but told everyone to stand down (which is what Fox is now reporting).

UPDATE #2: And don’t get distracted with Secretary Clinton’s apology and any attempt to assign her blame. Last night Christopher Collins wrote in the Examiner that “Secretary of State Hillary Clinton had ordered more security at the U.S. mission in Benghazi before it was attacked where four Americans, including U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens were murdered by Al-Qaeda but President Obama denied the request.”

This is outrageous. Barack Obama should immediately resign in disgrace for his failure to defend America. If not, Congress should look for immediate impeachment.

Barack Obama needs to recognize that his cowardice resulted in the death of four Americans. Their families want answers, reports The Weekly Standard.

From The Weekly Standard:

Charles Woods, the father of Tyrone Woods, who was killed in the 9/11 terrorist attack at the American consulate in Benghazi, Libya, reveals details of meeting Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton at the publically broadcast memorial service for the slain Americans at Andrews Air Force Base only days after the attack. And, in a recent radio appearance, Woods publicly questions who made the call not to send in back-up forces to possibly save his son’s life, as well as the three other Americans killed in Benghazi (which includes the American ambassador to Libya).

“When [Obama] came over to our little area” at Andrew Air Force Base, says Woods, “he kind of just mumbled, you know, ‘I’m sorry.’ His face was looking at me, but his eyes were looking over my shoulder like he could not look me in the eye. And it was not a sincere, ‘I’m really sorry, you know, that your son died,’ but it was totally insincere, more of whining type, ‘I’m sorry.’”

Woods says that shaking President Obama’s hands at his son’s memorial service was “like shaking hands with a dead fish.” …

American Thinker adds:

Glen Doherty and Tyrone Woods, two retired SEALS who were working as civilian security specialists in Benghazi, learned that Ambassador Stevens and nine other people at the consulate were under attack and rushed to their defense. …

Having worked with one of the four killed in Benghazi years ago makes this personal, none the less, it is super super upsetting. The fact that most of this nation does not realize (days before the election) that our President and his office chose, deliberately, NOT to help the brave men that protect us every day, is beyond preposterous. That is what our military is for. You don’t leave your men, begging on the ground for help, when help (near or far, in this case near) is there waiting, there for this purpose. The swing voters, voters in general – need to understand the weak character and lack of integrity of the man leading the free world. When help was so close – with a live feed – to let those men die – protecting us and our interests – is a crime. Why isn’t this and how does this become front page news? That Benghazi happened and could’ve been prevented is horrible. That it’s not really out there for Americans to know and base decisions on – is atrocious.

    • HObama HObamanana

      Thank you!

  • HObama HObamanana

ABC is also investigating this. Jake Tapper has the CIA on record as denying that they refused to come to the aid of these brave men.

…no one at any level in the CIA told anybody not to help those in need; claims to the contrary are simply inaccurate.

Tapper also reports that Obama refused to answer direct questions posed to him by KUSA-TV in Denver concerning the lack of response to calls for help.

“Were they denied requests for help during the attack?” he asked.

“Well, we are finding out exactly what happened,” the president again said. “I can tell you, as I’ve said over the last couple of months since this happened, the minute I found out what was happening, I gave three very clear directives. Number one, make sure that we are securing our personnel and doing whatever we need to. Number two, we’re going to investigate exactly what happened so that it doesn’t happen again. Number three, find out who did this so we can bring them to justice. And I guarantee you that everyone in the state department, our military, the CIA, you name it, had number one priority making sure that people were safe. These were our folks and we’re going to find out exactly what happened, but what we’re also going to do it make sure that we are identifying those who carried out these terrible attacks.”

I find it refreshing that it’s not only FOX that is on this. It also says something about the credibility of Jennifer Griffin’s sources.

    • http://www.projectweavers.com/ Matthew J. Weaver

Jennifer Griffin sounded quite sure on Fox today that she has solid sources and neither she nor Fox News offered any cautionary disclaimers.

Clearly someone(s) lying. My money is on Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton. They, along with Susanne Rice, Jay Carney, and others have already proven themselves liars in the matter.

Obama is playing for time, hoping the problem will go away. With blood on his hands, with lies so obvious, I do not think this will happen, whether he wins or loses on November 6.

      • HObama HObamanana

O sure has a lot of commercials out asking people to participate in early voting. It’s not a coincidence.

  • stodghie

oh i assign blame to hillary. she should have resigned instead of carrying obama’s water. she has also lied about what happened over and over. there is no honor there and there is no political future for liars when americans are murdered.

I am very upset about this story. I heard the interview with Woods father on Megyn Kelly—that story was absolutely heartbreaking. I have lost a son and that father’s pain was so real to me just cut thru my heart and soul.

Politico has an article hypothesizing how the upcoming storm will impact the vote. Several commenters decried the fact, Politico wasn’t focused on the news coming out about Benghazi. Here was my comment.

Hypothetical storm scenarios for next week implicating vote totals the week after; versus ongoing Benghazi revelations further implicating President Obama in this foreign policy debacle.

If Fox’s approach to the news is biased; Politico’s approach is blind.

I`m sorry, but the more I hear about this, the more I can`t help thinking it was a kidnapping gone wrong.
First we reduce the security presence in August then we find out that reinforcements were told to stand down and now we are told that further help was denied.

Could this have been a planned October surprise so Obama would look like a hero after the Ambassador was released ?

Was this a way to swap him for the release of the blind sheik ?

I know it sounds tin foil hat like but I don`t put ANYTHING beyond this bunch.

    • HObama HObamanana

I don’t put anything beyond this bunch either but I think this was a planned assault with the intent to kill.

  • http://twitter.com/jbjdjbjd jbjd

I just watched the Jennifer Griffin video. I am crying; and I hold liable for this tragedy not Hillary Clinton, who might have known better about Obama and said nothing; or David Axelrod, who knew there was no ‘there’ there with Obama and aspired to manipulate a winning campaign, to prove he could; or even Barack Obama, who could very well be too vacuous to blame, anyway. No; I hold responsible every single voter who put this man into office.

Because notwithstanding either Clinton’s silence or Axelrod’s machinations; the fact Obama was bad news was obvious to anyone who really looked.

    • TeakWoodKite

Yep. Can anyone tell me when was the last time a CIC refused a request for armed assistance when American lives where on the line? Not withstanding it was the same people who put these fine Americans in harms way to begin with?

This is a very sad and ugly human squatting at Motel 1600. oh my bad.. This entire thread of requests started over a year ago and were consistently denied. If that mortar crew had a laser on them it would be no more than 30 minutes to send a response to take them out.

Another question for the professionals, wouldn’t you plan for a response to mortar fire? Even a single Javalin would have done the job and at minimum made them move…or keep ‘em guessing if there was more where that came from?

Why is it that you would be running whatever kinda mission was going on that and not have the minimum defensive tools of the trade? Or is that thinking to “wild west’ of me? If an ambassador is in a hostile situation, don’t they have GPS locators on them?

My heart keeps hearing the voices of those on the ground in Benghazi when they were told no one is coming to help. It is a hellish acoustical echo of misery to anyone who serves this country, heard loud and clear around the globe.

  • http://www.projectweavers.com/ Matthew J. Weaver

Some news reports today suggested the stand down order came via the CIA. Nope. CIA Director Petraeus is saying through a spokesman, No. http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/petraeus-throws-obama-under-bus_657896.html

O-M-F-G. I cannot imagine what it would be like to ask for help THREE TIMES, to no avail. It’s beyond belief. I realize any attempts at rescue could’ve been fraught with risk, but still, I can’t imagine there wasn’t SOMETHING that could’ve been attempted that may have helped those poor people. Seven hours of horror…
I have a feeling the fear of a repeat of Operation Eagle Claw (when Carter sent Delta Force to rescue American hostages in Iran) loomed large in the minds of those at the top of the chain of command. So I wouldn’t be surprised if they sat by and let those people die rather than risk a tragic failure like Eagle Claw. It would certainly explain at least one reason for the manic effort to lie about what really happened in Benghazi.

  • DianaLC

The father asks whoever is responsible to “change the direction of his life.” Well, we know who is responsible, and I have already done what I can do to change that person’s life direction. I sent my ballot in.

  • Retired_from_SPOnaj

Neither de facto POTUS Jarrett or nominal POTUS Obama had time to be bothered with American public servants begging for help in Libya when there was a re-election campaign to be run and dollars to be asked for in Las Vegas. Get with it, Mr. Weaver. The loss of an Ambassador and a few CIA types is less than small change to being re-elected and POTUS. What did you expect them to do: Cancel the trip, call in all of their national security advisors, and take immediate action?

    • http://www.projectweavers.com/ Matthew J. Weaver

Well whatever was so important in Vegas has so far stayed in Vegas though we did see the hung over not-yet-recovered Obama at the debate days later in Colorado.

    • Hokma

That pretty much sums it up.

    • Popsmoke

Immediate action? Like what? AC130? Drone? Air asault? In a soveign newly elected government? One we helped put in place? One we were not at war with?

I listened all day to emotional bullshit while the real truth suffers.

      • Retired_from_SPOnaj

Yep, the real truth does suffer. Our people died because of a situation that we created in the first place. As far as a sovreign newly elected governments are concerned, if said governments can’t protect the Ambassador of the principal nation that helped put them in place, then they need to be prepared to step out of the way for whatever action that we decide to take. Sorry if this offends them. I’ve seen U.S. representatives overseas advise indignant local officials about jsut who was really calling the shots in their “sovreign nation” when we were directly paying the salaries of those well-armed soldiers standing outside in line impatiently waiting for their cash payday, so I have little sympathy for sovreign nations that can’t meet their responsibility for the protection of foreign diplomatic missions. That diplomatic protection was the reason that we set up the Benghazi consulate to cover the CIA base in the first place.
I do agree that once the attack started, realistically, our “mailed fist” options were very limited because, unlike the Boy Scouts, we were not prepared in the least. At least on 9/11/2012, with our Ambassador essentially alone deep in hostile territory, if we insisted on putting him in that situation, we could’ve been prepared if something happened. But it was just another routine day in Obama’s America. And the last day for four of our guys on the pointy end of the spear.
Forgive me my rant. I’ve been in essentially the same situation as Ambassador Stevens and the base during my career. I was lucky that nothing happened during my watch; it upsets me all the more to see how screwed up we have become in just about every way.

        • Popsmoke

Yes I agree… BUT our embassador and our state department need to make the ground rules very clear. Unfortunately as far as we currently know, Stevens nor State did any such thing. Hense that Catch 22… You know as well as I do we just cannot use force when we feel like it. Even when we really want to. Imagine the presidence that would set?
Unfortunately lives were lost but that is what happens when we do not think out our policies. How many times have we done this?

          • piattq

The precedence has been set—the mantra is “we no longer have a cavalry”. You are on your own.

            • Popsmoke

We still have a calvary and its an expensive one to boot.

          • HObama HObamanana

Caring more about how things appear or what precedent something might set than the lives of the citizens we put in harm’s way seems treasonous to me. At the very least it is being lily livered and pansy assed.

            • Popsmoke

We are a country that follows the rule of law…

              • HObama HObamanana

I fully support that we follow a rule of law. Obama, on the other hand, seems to think that he only needs to follow the rule of law when it is convenient. I assume you are aware that there are reports confirming that Libya had been notified of our intention to breech their airspace by Clinton.

      • Dianne Babin

ala Pakistan and the Bin Laden raid….and that was an assualt,no American lives at stake on the ground at time of that Invasion.. Pakistan and Congress were left out of that loop.. the Admin had no problem with sending troops into harms way on that one..

  • mgm

It seems reasonable to assume that Obama acted in character; that is, he could not make a decision. We saw plenty of this flaw when he was in Illinois state government and voted “abstain” or pressed the wrong button because he “got mixed up.” It’s a travesty that this man was ever put in a leadership position.

    • akaPatience

      You said a mouthful, mgm.

    • TeakWoodKite

It has now gone way past negligent homicide…Obama should be charged with treason.

  • Savannahlawyer

Was the denial because the president actively denied the request or did he not make a decision? In short, was the denial ultimately a sin of omission or a sin of commision?

Either one poses its own set of problems. If Obama denied the request, well I’m sure he could come up with a very weak and equally vile “policy” reason for the denial.

If Obama did not or could not make a decision, was there someone who had the authority to make the call? Where was Obama during these seven hours? Was he like Hitler on D-Day and could not be disturbed?

There are not any acceptable answers.

    • HObama HObamanana

I’d say that the smart money was on Leon Panetta making the call. Obama was probably standing in front of a mirror stammering “Present” endlessly.

    • http://www.projectweavers.com/ Matthew J. Weaver

    I knew it.

I knew that Hillary Clinton was not the kind of person to deny added security when requested. It was evident by her anger when this story first broke. There was no sincerity in her face talking about videos or accepting blame.

While i agree with LJ’s accessment as to why this attack happened and whom was behind it, there was no excuse for a lack of security or for help to be sent in real time.

Obama knew about everything all along and blatantly lied to the American public and had others lie on his behalf. Worse, he did nothing to save lives of americans serving on his behalf and sacrificed their lives to save his political neck.

Knowing what he had done, he went to sleep, and the next day went to Vegas

I agree with Matt, that Obama should be forced to resign his office immediately and he should give his ballot position to Biden.

    • DianaLC

      Hokma,

    • Justine00

I agree, Hokma, but don’t give Hillary the credit you do. “There was no sincerity in her face…” — Hillary lied, just like Obummer. Hillary is untrustworthy, no matter how much we wish otherwise. If she didn’t constantly “cover” for Obummer, I might give her some credibility. She should be really ashamed of herself!
      .

      • TeakWoodKite

She could have blown the cover wide opened and resigned. She did not.

    • piattq

If you revisit Hillary’s statement on this she said she took responsibility for the “security of state department installations—that it was her responsibility” if you parse that statement, it is not a statement of accepting responsibility for the whole Benghazi event. But I’m not sure that gets her off the hook. If she had real integrity and this was all true, then surely she would assign.

      • stodghie

she should have resigned when obama refused her requests for addtional security.

This Congress still intends to hold off on hearings about this dreadful affair until ‘after the election’. That, in itself is an outrage and they need to be embarrassed and accused of malfeasance of office. They are putting politics before justice for the four who were killed.
Obama indeed, needs to resign or be impeached, and the investigative process should already be in the works to bring impeachment charges, if proved that he denied the request for help.

        It is also called treason.

    • http://twitter.com/jbjdjbjd jbjd

Yes. However, I would say, the pivotal reason this needs to be resolved ASAP is that, we still have embassies/outposts/structures staffed by foreign service officers, throughout the world. What happened in Beghazi cannot be allowed to happen again, no matter what the real reason we maintain a presence.

  • HELENK2

there is a theory going around that it was supposed to be a kidnapping of the Ambassador so he could be used as an excuse to release the blind shiek to the MB in Egypt.
Nothing this bunch does would surprise me

  • http://twitter.com/kmbog kmbog

If this doesn’t prove Obama is WAY over his head nothing does.

    • sowsear1

He works for the opposition…could it be any clearer?

  • Popsmoke

Sad thing about this is that once again the points made by Larry i.e… Consulate used as a CIA front… possible Iran involvement, training and arming jihadis and sending them to. Syria… are Not freaking news and THIS BULLSHIT is…..
Why? Because the braindead don’t want to focus that besides this idotic administration REPUBLICAN LEADERSHIP including McCain and his Marx Brothers buddies understood many of these details and did SHIT to stop it??

    PS: http://intelnews.org/2012/10/26/01-1118/

    • http://www.projectweavers.com/ Matthew J. Weaver

I have to agree with you on McCain. Listened to his interview from yesterday where he appeared to defend Obama’s inaction. Wonder if he still agrees today after all of this new info starts coming out. If he already knew this and did nothing, he disgraces is heroic past. Yes, sad.

      • DianaLC

Matthew, the way I see McCain is that he is ALL MILITARY. He respects the chain of command so much that he is not going to counter anything until the facts come in. I hope he will change the statement as more info comes in.
As for Popsmoke, I can’t figure out who he would like in charge—seems no one qualifies as far as he is concerned.

        • DianaLC

I just saw that McCain, Graham, and Ayote (sp) have asked to see the real time tapes.

    • KenoshaMarge

I’m sorry, I don’t particularly like McCain but I don’t see how he had the power to stop anything. Please explain.

    • Hokma

How was it the GOP responsibility for turning down Hillary;s request for security in Benghazi?

How was it the GOP responsibility for turning down the CIA demand for military help – 3 times – when it was requested which cost lives?

Those are the issues and the only issues.

      • Retired_from_SPOnaj

Actually, not quite. The Benghazi operation was established by the President with the approval of Congressional leaders on both sides of the aisle (i.e., the so-called Gang of Eight). The failure to have a backup plan in case of predictable emergencies was signed off on by both Democrats and Republicans in Congress. That’s not to say the POTUS, and Chief Executive and Commander in Chief, is not ultimately responsible for what happened.

        • Hokma

Not even a back up plan to whatever operation was ongoing in Benghazi.

The two issues are why Obama turned down Clinton on more security that was requested. That has nothing to do with anyone in Congress.

And why did Obama refuse to send military assistance when it was requested?

The reasons for the Benghazi compound are secondary to those questions and it appears that Obama did it for personal political gain figuring that no one would know the facts until after the election.

        • TeakWoodKite

To your point, the gang of eight can say no and the president is obliged to comply? I have understood this to be more of a proforma requirement. No?

      • Popsmoke

Security for what? CIA front? Ok to match theattack they would have needed at least two to three tactical teams. For a consulate? Or I mean CIA front. What I want to know is how the front was exposed?? Why are we focued on security for a ops that the CIA fucked up on when we are not focused on why the consulate was attacked in the first place?

        • Hokma

Security to protect an Ambassador and, yes, for a CIA front.

How the front was exposed? Could it be the Libyan security that ran away when the attack began?

          “We” meanng the news media?

I think Larry’s assessment of what was happening and who was behind the attack is the most plausable.

The problem I have with this is someone reduced security and rejected increased security in Benghazi. And then someone rejected military aid when the attack was happening. I am not buying Pinetta’s reason.

          • Popsmoke

How about we stop with stupid policies we cannot pull off and are prepared for? How about we have ALL responsible resign? So the other contractors at the safe house who came rushing in blew the entire ops and now? Now we are totally clueless on both the weapons and jihadis. We are now totally blind..

        • HObama HObamanana

What I want to know is how the front was exposed??

I’ve wanted to know that for a very long time. I’ve always suspected that someone they trusted betrayed them. Militants didn’t just spontaneously find out about them. And I think it is fair to assume they didn’t advertise.

    • HObama HObamanana

I hear you. And you are right that what the news should be about is the actual CIA operation that got exposed and destroyed. And yes, some of the Republicans such as McCain would have been filled in on the operation and in all likelihood did not object.

But please do not diminish what happened to these 4 brave Americans that were abandoned by the same government they literally put their own lives on the line for. The bullshit is that we have an Administration that puts it’s desire to hold onto power before the safety and security of the citizens it is sworn to serve.

  • HELENK2

has there been any time in his useless life that this person has ever helped anyone but himself??

    Chicago
the maytag workers he sold out
the people in Rezko’s apartment buildings with no heat
the people affected by toxic waste that he sold out

the black unemployed along with all the others that are unemployed
    the small business person
    all the American people

and the 4 people killed in Benghazi because he will not admit his ME policy is a failure

He should be thrown out of office NOW before more people get killed because of him

    • piattq

Hey how about all the cell phones, food stamps, disability claims approved, relaxed work for welfare rules, back door amnesty? And after all he sent a drone to get OBL

This is such unbelievable news. It’s almost as if it were some exaggerated Hollywood movie about an incompetent President.
There is no way Obama shouldn’t be questioned about this.
But I am sure Crowely and Matthews are standing by to read some transcript that they can misinterpret for Obama.
I really do feel horrible for the families.

    • DianaLC

Michael, I meant to add a thank you for the link to Batchelor’s radio program with LJ.
I am so very very happy that my son’s are now not of an age to join the military. I would lock them in their rooms and not let them out until I felt we had a CIC who actually cared for them.

  • Indy

This is outrageous. Unfortunately I can believe that it is accurate. It’s disgraceful, but this president doesn’t give a rat’s ass about our people on the ground in harm’s way. He is a disgrace and he isn’t the only one who should resign. What a cluster****

    • wylrae

I used to think that Petraus(?) was a good leader who cared about his men. Not anymore. Had he an ounce of integrity he would have resigned immediately upon learning that any of his people helping the consulate people in Benghazi were told to stand down. Can anyone tell me what being an American means anymore? Has been said that we are a generous, compassionate country willing to come to everyone’s aid in times of trouble but we can’t even come to the aid of our valiant heroes in their time of need. What a disgrace. It is obvious our so-called CinC doesn’t buy into having the back of those who serve our country.

      • Justine00

Why haven’t we heard from Petreus yet??
        .

      • http://lesstalkmoreactivism.blogspot.com/ Canaan

During the Saturday Night Massacre, the AG and Deputy AG resigned. I recently read that Solicitor General Bork, #3 at Justice, wanted to resign after executing Nixon’s order to fire the Watergate Special Prosecutor because he didn’t want to be seen as Nixon’s dog. But AG Elliot Richardson asked Bork not to resign to avoid too much of a shock to the Nation.

Following that principle–and the shock would be even greater if the National Security team unraveled–the best move for Petraeus, Clinton, et al, may be to go Deep Throat and make sure Obama doesn’t get re-elected. I believe this galactic stinkbomb is all Obama. He’s abusing his power as President — holding the psyche of the nation hostage, ordering the Pentagon to lie for him and dishonor the nation, the fallen dead, and our armed services just to cover his ass.

        • stodghie

i would never lie abou something like that on orders. i’d resign first and so should those who are lying.

      • Indy

Yes, several people should have resigned by now, if they cared about our country and not their little spider webs of politics and power (for themselves). I expect O to be what he is, but I once respected Patraeus, the Clintons and Biden. Now they make me sick too.

  • HARP2

Just heard the father on FOX.

I hope everyone connected with this fiasco rots in Hell.

    • http://www.projectweavers.com/ Matthew J. Weaver

Yes, we need to make clear such incompetence is not acceptable. I am torn about whether this is cowardice, treason, or both.

      • HELENK2

        BOTH

      • elizabethrc

Last night on FOX (I don’t remember which show) they put up a chart showing the number of minutes each msm news show devoted to the Benghazi situation. The first, which included abc, nbc, cbs, etc., totaled about 5 minutes altogether!
What will it take to make these networks start acting like Americans? They are willing to sacrifice every shred of integrity in order to get Obama re elected.
We would have such a better informed public if they would be honest in their reporting.

        • mergeright

Isn’t it possible for someone to buy airtime and explain this to the American public, or would the networks block that, too?

          • exmaple

“At the time Valerie Jarrett and I [Obama] decided the attack must have been ongoing protests about that Muhammad film, because why else would anyone attack American interests while I am the President? Therefore we decided an attack would do..something or other bad, and my policy is to have the smallest footprint…sometimes I wonder, Valerie, am I supposed to be Rambo, or Gandhi? Right, Val, I am Rambo-Gandhi! I knew those men were protesters trying to kill my ambassador, so why protect him? They had to be protesters! Valerie assured me the world loves me, Me, ME!!”

            –Barack Obushma

          • elizabethrc

Did you listen to Brian William’s softball interview with Obama? That’s your answer right there. They have protected the man throughout his failed presidency.
I hope that, should Romney win, the networks will never get an interview with him and will be ostracized as they should be. They need to be taught a lesson.

        • piattq

Would pulling the plug do any good? Bankruptcy?

          • elizabethrc

A Republican controlled Congress could enact a law which would require the FCC to set firm and equitable standards by which networks would have to abide, including demonstrably unbiased reporting of the facts. Independent fact checkers would report inaccuracies to a monitoring agency and those networks would have one chance to correct their behaviour (bias) and if that did not happen, their license to broadcast should be pulled and their stations blacked out.
I know it sounds extreme, but isn’t that what we have now? The nail in the coffin is that the msm have not reported on Benghazi, nor has the print media (except right leaning entities).
A level playing field soundsfair to me.

      • Eyes Wide Open

Both. I hope and pray that word of this gets out to voters.

    • BronwynsHarbor

It is sickening. Jennifer Griffin is such a good reporter. Hey, I bet that Bret Baier will have a good segment this afternoon. And The Five will be all over it … I struggle with that show sometimes. Beckel. Need I say more?

Oh, yeah. Thanks, Matthew, for being on top of this.

      • HObama HObamanana

The other 4 make up for Beckel. But I despise the asshole too.

      • DianaLC

Bret did just have Griffin on. Bret reported the Panetta clip and the POTUS statment which was basically a denial of Griffin’s story. But when Bret asked Griffin how good her sourses were, she said they were sources “on the ground” and indicated that she had absolute confidence in them–that they had been denied help.

        • http://lesstalkmoreactivism.blogspot.com/ Canaan

I don’t read the Panetta statement as a denial. He said they decided not to put forces “at risk”, claiming they didn’t have enough info to act. So they consciously decided to (1) write off the lives of potentially everyone in the consulate and (2) allow Al Qaida an unanswered propaganda victory on 9/11.

It’s worth again remembering the firefighters who, like these Navy Seals, ran into the Twin Towers during chaos–”not enough info”–and according to Mayor Giuliani, evacuated and saved thousands of lives. So what are we supposed to think of Panetta and General Dempsey?

U.S. forces afraid to go into action because of risk? Bullshit! Panetta’s lie is as obvious as the video lie. And he’s lying on orders from the “Commander-in-Chief.” Who else could concoct the sick lie that U.S. forces are afraid of Al Qaida?

    • HObama HObamanana

I am so upset with what is being revealed and what hasn’t been revealed that I can barely write. I can’t even imagine how upset the father is right now.

      • piattq

Saw father’s interview with Megyn—this is heartbreaking. If all this is true, Obama needs to be impeached, jailed—what can we do with traitors anyway. Not doing all we can to save our people? This reminds me of Lincoln and the problems he had finding a general who would fight—not delay, delay, more troops, more force etc. etc.
