The Israeli/AIPAC insistence that MAD will not work against Iran has been based on the notion that the Iranian leadership is made up of religiously fanatic madmen who seek martyrdom for their country and who do not think logically.  Both the Iranian action in this instance and the Israeli acceptance of it deny the reality of the Israeli/AIPAC opinion. – Patrick Lang
