I heartily recommend that you subscribe to Al Jazeera English. Particularly since our timid cable and satellite services have failed to provide us with this excellent news service. Will we agree with them and their reports? Sometimes. And, of course, well disagree many times. But, for god’s sake, that is why we have that THING between our ears! Jesus.

I wish, at the least, that they’d offer it as a pay option — like HBO.

    Just heard on MSNBC that some group took a full page ad in one of the Chicago newspapers asking Obatic to fork his BC and prove to the Country that he is a natural born citizen. Of course, MSNBC being the mouthpiece of the President soon-to-be-elect, the hack Shuster said the ad is perpetuating a false Internet rumor that has been disproved times and again. Oh, well, at least they talked about it….

        Agree. One unfortunate topic of conversation at my Thanksgiving dinner table was exorbitant executive bonuses. My two O-bot guests, both of whom have more education than I do but who get their news from MSM, had no idea who Franklin Raines is or who Johnson is OR their relationships to BO. Gawhhhhh!

      It has not been disproven. That’s why it’s still going on.

      Personally, at this point, I no longer care. I think it would be a disaster to press this. I wanted him to fork it over before the election. Ideally, before the Convention so Hillary could have gotten the nom.

      Now I am willing to let this play out seeing as the powers-that-be have colluded with him to get away with this. The country is already in chaos. It does not need to get worse over something that should have been settled before 0bama ever was nominated.

        Your response is exactly what they are counting on. To drag, ignore and delay till it becomes more compilcated to solve. Then it wouldn’t matter to alot of people if him and the party broke the conistitution to put him in the white house. Then what else are ready to accept?

          Only problem, none of his decisions, actions orders etc will be valid, if he is not eligibleto be POTUS. There would be a vast constitutional crisis and the country would be without a leader. It needs to be solved, one way or the other.

            Perhaps this is real the change we need — the acknowledgment that we indeed have a Constitution. What a novel idea!

            Obama needs to provide his BC, regardless of the consequences. If this country can’t survive that then our democratic Republic is just a thing of the past, a quaint idea. We’ve already lived in fear for most of these past eight years and I am sick of it! We need to fight and stand for something! Let’s start with our Constitution!

            I say, let’s test the Constitution to see how much of it we actually have left. This should be our cause as PUMAS, in my view, since so much of our Constitution and democracy have been shredded by both Parties.

          One of my etremely conservative friends, a neo-con whose main concern were the religious/social issues, sent me a mass email about the birth certificate suite. It was interesting to read the back and forth. But, at the end, many of these like minded people were worried about riots, etc. if it was pressed.

          I don’t get it–how O got such a pass about everything: proof of citizenship, school and medical records, etc., etc.

            My reaction is that we don’t dismiss Constitutional requirements simply because a group of malcontents might riot. That sends a clear message that the threat of violence trumps law. We will at that point no longer be deserving of the term civilized and may as well start resolving all disputes with brute force.

If they riot, let the “President” call Marshall Law and lock them all up for good. My one question is why the Supreme Court Justices seem to be bought and paid for by the Fraud. I mean COME ON…anyone with a brain knows that Fraudbama hiring three law firms to hide him from having to show his BC in 17 lawsuits means he’s not legit. So WTF with the Judges?

        I disagree, Mimi. I don’t want to set precedent by violating the Constitution in such a blatant manner. If the DNC gets away with this, then we’re seriously in trouble because both parties will be able to foist anyone on us, without any documentation (Dubya and Obama are enough and I am now drawing the line). I believe this country is in chaos right now, but it would be worse if we became compliant on this issue. Let the chips fall where they may, but I, too, want to see this Fraud’s birth certificate.

What would happen if we have people like Chavez who are elected in and then don’t want to come out? Our consitution must be respected under any cost. And, there will be a leader if Obama has been found to not be electable because his BO. Hillary Clinton would take the post because of her popular votes. Not Biden. I rather see the two face Hillary over the clueless Biden. But, on Friday we will see what happens with the Supreme Court.

          According to the 20th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, if the President elect fails to qualify for the presidency, then the Vice President elect shall be the acting President until congress decides who shall become President. There is nothing in this Amendment that would suggest that Congress would have to select Hillary for President because of her receiving the popular vote. Congress could decide to select Biden as President.

              Also, if Fraudbama is indeed declared to be the FRAUD that he is…then he would not have had the right to nominate Biden, because his whole ticket would be fraudulent. I don’t think any of this means Biden is immediately the VP. Especially if it is decided that Fraudbama knowingly perpetrated fraud at the time of his nomination.

                Hi OBIAF: Your scenario does present a conundrum, but even though the Electors have not yet cast their votes, I think Congress would have to abide by the 20th Amendment and Joe Biden would be the President elect until such time Congress acted.

                By relying on the 20th Amendment Congress would be avoiding utter chaos.

                Seems to me that if Obama is declared unconstitutionally unable to be potus – that would necessarily render his whole run for the presidency – illegal and that would include Joe Biden.

                This would mean the general election did not give the American voters a legal vote and that only John McCain and his vp elect Sarah Palin would be the only legal contenders for the Presidency. The DNC would have to nominate a representative for the Democratic nominee and that person would bring in a vp – there would then have to be another election – a legal election between McCain and whomever is appointed to rep the DNC party. Bush would have to remain in office for a further 60 days.

                Better now than a damning constitutional crisis later, if Obama is found out to not be legally an American natural born citizen plus holding dual citizenship with Indonesia.

                Anything Obama does and puts through will be considered not legal under the Constitution otherwise.

                Time for those judges to face up to their responsibilities under the Constitution and declare Marshall war if necessary to prevent riots and bloodshed a la Obama’s cousin – Odinga..

        There is a rumor that SC and VA are going to demand that he show proof he is a qualified candidate. To me this is more hopeful than the Supreme Court dancing around trying to make the narrowest possible ruling, if any. Because, it allows many state citizens with grievances about the nomination and election to speak up, and also opens a peek at local fraud, and ACORN–in other words, I think it will be a lot harder to keep all the dirt down.

          Do you know why? Because Nancy Pelosi, Chair of the Democratic National Convention, Certified that BO was the nominee of the Democratic Party; and the state party chairs submitted this Certification along with the paperwork to get him on the general election ballot in the state; but nowhere in the Certification did she swear that the nominee was Constitutionally eligible for office. Here is a copy of that Certification, received by the SC election commission.

            Thank you, I saw it already and thought it was not very helpful to anything, just says he’s a certified candidate. But it does mean she is part of the “certification” process and it would not cause even a tiny dent in my heart to see Pelosi caught up in fraud. Could that happen?

              Yes; and it will.

              1. Some state laws require that the nominee submitted by the state Party chair of a major political Party to the state election official, usually the S of S, to get onto the general election ballot “shall” be eligible for the office sought. However, no law in any state specifically requires the S of S to check. And the laws in several states entitle the nominee from the major political Party to get onto the ballot. (The laws that apply to the major political Parties are different from laws applied to others who want to access the ballot, including signature gathering; deadlines; and entitlement to ballot access.)

              2. By being so inextricably intertwined with the whole election process, including automatic access to the ballots; the DNC and Nancy Pelosi can be said to be “state actors” in the process. This makes them susceptible to civil rights suits for their conduct.

              They will all go down for what they have done. All of them.

                In Virginia, access to the ballot is by obtaining and submitting a certain number of signatures on a petition. Once these petitions are submitted to the SBE,this is sufficient. To my knowledge, there is no vetting, no qualifying. Of all the states, I find it hard to believe that any challenge will come from Virginia.

      George Romney, Lowell Weicker, and John McCain all born outside the U.S. to U.S. parents and all Republican presidential candidates and the only presidential candidates who were not born in the U.S. (it is funny that only Republicans try to elect non-U.S. born candidates).       If you are saying that Obama’s mother was not a U.S. citizen then now we are getting somewhere. Or maybe you are saying the Obama was adopted, which may not make him a natural-born U.S. citizen.

    I also like to mention that I hope to live old enough to see the 100th anniversary of our troop commitment in South Korea and our 50th anniversary in Iraq….

    Actually, it’s kind of a relief, not to mention hysterically funny, that the BHO administration is looking like a third Clinton Administration. My biggest fear was that he was going to bring in all his corrupt Chicago crooks. If he’s going to run his office with Clinton people and Clinton advice, I can live with him being a titular head of state.

    I perceive a severe lack of respect for Obama’s female appointees in the fact that the microphones on the podium (in today’s press conference) were so large, and stuck up so far, that they completely obscured the faces of the female appointees as they spoke. There are plenty of podiums that women can speak from without looking stupid. Are we to believe that Obama’s well funded PR organization could not have found such a podium for today? Hillary had the presence of mind to lower the mics, but for the other two appointees (who are shorter than Hillary) there was nothing they could do.

    Also, I have to note that when Obama is speaking, he’s got this completely mechanical head swivel thing going on that I find very annoying. He looks up-right, down at his notes, then up-left. Now back down at the notes and up-right, then down, up-left, down, up-right, down, up-left and so on. Every few cycles he will repeat an up-right or an up-left, then return to the cycle. What a fake.

    He also didn’t do a very good job of answering the questions about Hillary Clinton’s credentials. He basically admitted that he’d lied about her in the campaign: “Ha, ha, all’s fair in love, war and political campaigns. I lied about the race-baiting charge too, but who cares? I won didn’t I?”

    Same thing goes for the Robert Gates nomination combined with Obama’s claim he would remove troops from Iraq within 16 months. That was a lie too, of course. Which we all knew. The guy continues to make me sick.

          I told you guys a few times- that if you see obama’s picture as a young organizor leaning on the wall with a leather jack his nose is very wide and flat . His features are more negro than what he is today. I truly believe he won’t release his medical records because he is ashamed that he had nose surgery to look more white. ANOTHER MICHAEL JACKSON! I think truly that is the reason. Some people just don’t want you to know that they have had cosmetic surgery.

      As much as DEMOCRATS and Repubs tried to trash Palin to make her damaged goods for a future run, it doesn’t look like it’s going to happen. EVEN NOW, right after the election, she has higher numbers. By the time she spends more time in office and people see the lies that were said…AND O shit is seen for what he is, not what he wants to claim, more Democrats will be supporting her for President in 2012 besides more Republicans.

      Giuliani, Huckabee, and Romney could all make another stab at presidential politics in 2012 — and possibly joining them could be Palin.

      Palin came out on top in a recent Gallup poll that asked Republican voters whom they are most interested in seeing run for the GOP nomination in 2012.

      Sixty-seven percent of Republican and Republican-leaning voters said they would like to see the Alaska governor make a bid for the next GOP presidential nomination. Romney was in second place with 62 percent, and Huckabee in third, one point behind Romney.

      Let’s face it, Romney and Huckabee have more recognition as leadership Republicans AND SHE STILL TOPS THEM…And they will all learn what a vacant person he is, so even though he received assurances for support in the future, he would ensure another Repub loss.

    Personally I am grateful for all of the people fighting for what’s left of our Constitution and to disqualify Fraudbama. Where anyone gets off saying this shouldn’t happen is a mystery to me. We’re AMERICAN. There’s a CONSTITUTION. Fraudbama isn’t eligible to be POTUS or he would fork over the documents. No one is going to let this go. Four of the suits are in SCOTUS. If they fail, more will be filed until the truth comes out. He’s not going to be able to hide this forever, thank God.

    What strikes me about the video is Hamsher, who was one of the vocal pro-Obama nuts, now excusing all of Obama’s moves back to the past. It’s not so much the people he’s collected, but how that will play. Obama’s appointments show clearly how insecure he is about the direction he wants to take. So he collects a whole bunch of experienced people, and each one will tell him to go in a different path. Not knowing anything, he’ll be more confused. Good luck people.

    I have never heard of a presidential candidate ever being questioned about where they were born. Why is Obama being questioned? Seems strange why people are questioning where he was born? I don’t get it.

    What are the reasons to suspect that he was not born in Hawaii?

    His mother was American, so doesn’t that make him American? Are people saying that his mother was not American?

      Where have you been? It all started with him writing about his Kenyan father–and then someone went to Kenya and said he was born there–and it has all snowballed. Since March? Early this year. He said he was born in one Hawaiian hospital, his sister said it was a different one. Neither hospital has affirmed or denied his birth there. At the moment he has three law firms defending him from having to show something that every citizen has to show to get a driver’s license, a social security number, a passport, a scholarship–what’s the problem? Do you think honest people proud of their citizenship normally spend many many thousands to avoid demonstrating it?
      I will give you one pass as someone coming out of the kool-aid coma who missed the last six months, but otherwise, your very use of the word “racist” to question why we would like to know where our president was born is sort of like saying “hey everyone, I’m a new troll here to distract and insult you for questioning the One.” Just telling you what to expect.

        John McCain was born outside the U.S. and the Senate in April 2008 (under Democratic control) passed a special resolution to make it possible for John McCain to run, or to a least make it easier for him to run.

Anyway, his mother was born a citizen but because of her age at the time of his birth she may not have been able to pass on citizenship (women have actually come a long way since 1961). Being born in the US does not automatically confer citizenship. Having one parent who is American does not automatically confer citizenship. Look up “Judah Benjamin” articles. This is a matter of conforming to Article II of the Constitution. The Senate resolution was a feel-good measure, it does not trump the Constitution, only an amendment can do that. And that’s all that needs to be said on the BC–Ferd is right, do your own homework, we did.

      Lisa, you need to read the consitution of the United States. You must be born on the soil of the country, and you cannot have dual citizenship. I hope this answers your question. It doesn’t matter whether his mother was an american. Birth in the United State must be noted. A live birth certificate is nothing. I was born in a different country and I have a live certificate. But, the country in which I was born was a terrority of the United State, so I am automically a US citizen. If Obama was born in Kenya and the live birth was reported in Hawaii, he is not a USA born. I believe the question is- if this rumor has been out there for over two years why hasn’t he stopped it? Why hire so many law firms to stop looking at his BC? The same thing with Larry Sinclair. I would have shut the guy by now, and Obama continues to ignor the accusations. He acts like a man who is hiding something. So, if he wants this to stop- show the damn thing already and talk about it to the American people. That will stop the peering in it.

    Does every presidential candidate and president-elect face this much scrutiny? Where was George Bush’s birth certificate?

    And not so fast about being born on U.S. soil. The case law is very mixed here. There is no clear cut picture. There is much legal precident where people have been considered natural-born citizens based on their parents being American. John McCain for example. Why did the Senate seem to say it needed to pass a special resolution to say he was a natural born citizen?

    A U.S. military base is not considered U.S. soil. It is on ground that is just leased.

    I cannot think of any reason why Obama is coming under such scrutiny, other than some people will try anything to win an election. Takes democracy to a new low.

    I just don’t get it! I have seen zero arguments that makes this an issue worth spending any time on…. a lot of Internet BS.

And no SCOTUS member is going to touch that with a ten-foot pole because if federal law says you need a birth certificate to be in higher office, then states will be able to use that provision to keep out a lot of people, cough* latinos *cough, from higher office.

          1) He has produced a birth certificate. No, his website and others have published ephemeral patterns of light. And the image of those photons is not a birth certificate, or certificate of live birth; it is a certificatION of live birth. It says he was born. It says some but not all of the things on the birth certificate. Even in Hawaii it is not valid for all purposes, such as proving Hawaiian ancestry. It also appears to have been digitally altered.
          2) Hawaii has certified that he was born there. No, they certified that they have his birth certificate. They didn’t say that it said he was born in Hawaii, and Hawaii had an odd law that citizens who gave birth outside a hospital or outside the state could register their children in Hawaii. This is why it is important to see the certificate, not the certification, because the certificate has the real story.

          And to the NQ regulars who wonder why I’m responding to an obvious troll attempt: because if this BS goes unchallenged, new and uninformed readers will only have that side of the story.

      There’s no Constitutional requirement to ensure illegal aliens don’t stay in the US, either. There’s also no Constitutional requirement for educating our children.

      So tell us why we can’t enforce Article II, which certainly has requirements.

        It’s federal law versus state’s law. That’s why I said change it at the state level in the other post. It takes a two-thirds majority vote in both houses of Congress to amend the Constitution to include a birth certificate requirement. I don’t think you’re gonna get that with a Democratic Congress.

    Having said that, if you want to stop this kind of stuff from happening in the future, petition each state to change their state constitutions to make it necessary to have proof of citizenship before a person can obtain higher office. That would have kept Obama from becoming a Senator in the first place. But note: if you do that, it keeps people like Schwarzenegger out of higher office, too, say like the California Senate in 2010.

              Demonstrating that one is a natural-born citizen has already been set up within the context of public law and regulations. Without these laws and regulations the government could not function. The Constitution provides the framework of requirements which are then enforced through public law and regulation.

              A birth certificate is required for all sorts of government documents, including, but not limited to driver’s licenses, passports, security clearances, and others.

              If this isn’t settled, I foresee problems with our entire system of identification. That may be one key here.

              The courts may well decline to take the case but I rather doubt it.

                The 2005 Real ID Act would have required states to start issuing tamper-proof IDs by May.                 I was there before the Soviets, early in 1970, took the train which was popular and cheap, even first class. One could get there from India or of course from Afghanistan, where bribery would be more than possible. In 1981 he had to fly from whatever countries did serve Pakistan then (Indonesia? Singapore? Saudi Arabia?), or take the train or bus from India which would have had the best air connections.

As far as I know, McCain doesn’t have duel citzenship being born in a naval hospital in Panama, but both his parents were American citizens.           If this was the case they would not have had to pass the special resolution.

          They could have just as easily passed a special resolution for Obama, but no need.

          It is completely fair to compare the two situations.

          So two levels of proof: (1) Obama was born in the U.S. and not Panama, as the state of Hawaii has confirmed and (2) his mother was American, just like McCain’s (someone who the U.S. senate had to go so far as provide “insurance” as you say to ensure that he was a natural-born citizen. Seems like a double standard. You guys want to treat Obama one-way and McCain another way. Where is McCain birth certicate?

          Legislative resolutions are meaningless in legal terms. Legislators pass resolutions when they can’t — or don’t want to — give their sentiments the force of law.

          Another example: the Flag Code passed by Congress was a resolution. That’s why it says how the flag “should” be displayed, and not how it “must” be displayed. And that’s why there are no federal prosecutions for flag-burning: federal law doesn’t prohibit it.

          Bottom line: the Panama-birth resolution had no practical effect on McCain’s or anyone else’s citizenship.

      no, the senate didn’t “have” to pass such a resolution for mccain. 5 democratic senators (and 1 repub) took it upon themselves, out of the goodness their hearts, we can presume, to pass this resolution asserting that mccain met the criteria for being a “natural born citizen,” and that he was eligible to be POTUS. call me cynical, but i’m thinking that maybe they passed it to provide a precedent for such resolutions, should barky need one at some time in the future.
