Humane Society of the United States (HSUS). Wayne Pacelle, the very same man who trained a relative in a large urban setting to stop the trapping of animals of all species (cats and dogs too). And I am sure he continues to do the same work to this day. Let’s all help!

“I experienced the true breadth of our work at The Humane Society of the United States this past weekend in New Jersey.” – Wayne Pacelle.
I hope you have had the chance to get out and vote. But for so many in the path of the hurricane, picking up the pieces is nearly all they can think about. Jennifer, one of our field responders, emailed you yesterday about the terrible situation in New Jersey. I was there, too — on the ground with our Animal Rescue Team. What I saw amid the wreckage was incredible. The images are seared into my mind.
I cannot get one dispatch call we responded to out of my head. As we approached the home, we found an older, emaciated dog — barely standing and visibly shaking — tethered to what was left of the front gate. His elderly owners had been taken to a hospital and left their animals behind.
We gave him food and water, and it was clear he needed veterinary care very soon. But first we wanted to see who else might be inside the house. …
I’m tucking this under Larry’s great new post, and above William’s great EV info below. I will e-mail him to let him know, and trust he understands. Hope you all check out William’s number-crunching. Fascinating.
My little estate … I am going to leave all to someone special because he/her will do good works for a long time to come. And he/she will give some to HSUS but I hope keeps most for him/herself and to keep doing more for animals who, sadly, will always need our help.
