I couldn’t agree more, Larry. Same with raising the tax rates on the “rich.” When will Republicans figure this out? Just give them what they demand, and let the chips fall, so that stupid Americans can actually SEE the consequences of their choices? Let them experience the consequences; they won’t learn until they do. The ’14 Mid-term elections will be here all too soon; if Republicans ENABLE Obama by acquiescing to Norquist’s stupid tax pledge, and make themselves the issue, they will lose seats in the House and Senate. But if they are smart, they’ll just say “Elections have consequences; Obama won re-election, so we can’t stop him from implementing his corrupt, cronyist policies.” Then give the people 2 years to live under Obama’s policy consequences: Higher taxes on everyone; lower wages; higher deficits; higher unemployment; lower revenues. They won’t be happy. As long as we stand in the way of them EXPERIENCING THE NATURAL CONSEQUENCES, they’ll believe Obama’s lies.

I think it was the other way around. I think the Obama administration thought that they could actually make Islamist jihadists like the United States more by supplying weapons and encouraging them to fight the Assad regime.

Of course, the Islamists never wavered from their desire to attack Americans, infidels, and apostates. They simply could not say no to free weapons and probably were miffed at the utter stupidity of such a move by the United States.

Then again, I think this harkens back to the ultimate weakness of ivory tower, Ivy League educated types: The inability to see and comprehend what is right in front of their face.
