Obama’s Vacation: $4 Million (open thread)

Obama-vacation-January2013-LarryJohnson-NoQuarterUSAIn the past, presidents like Ronald Reagan stayed at his own ranch in California. However, President Obama prefers to rent lavish rented estates where he grew up in Hawaii. He plays golf and spends time with his wife and daughters Sasha and Malia.

He also plays golf and works out at the nearby Marine Corps base, according to “Washington Whispers” at U.S. News & World Report‘s article, “Inside Obama’s Kailua Beach Vacation Homes.”

“The First Family rents a home each year on Paradise Point, a lush, green stretch of land in Kailua Beach, Oahu, that juts out over the ocean and contains an exclusive gated community,” “Washington Whispers” adds. Here’s a video of President Obama and his family using $4 million dollars at our expense:

From “Washington Whispers” at U.S. News & World Report’s article, “Inside Obama’s Kailua Beach Vacation Homes

With the fiscal cliff averted at last on New Year’s Day, President Barack Obama returned to his vacation spot on Kailua Beach in Oahu, Hawaii Wednesday morning for some much-needed R & R. Obama had previously cut the vacation short to deal with the fiscal crisis.

In 2011, the Obamas moved to a unnamed but similar vacation home down the street, which the Washington Post reported is a “6,000-square-feet and contains an inner courtyard and expansive lawn that leads down to the beach.”

I find it exasperating that Barack Obama uses our tax money for lavish vacations.

I hope you’ll share your opinions below about his failure to stay in Washington, D.C. and take care of pressing business.

The spike in jobless claims is probably a result of the fear business had of Romney getting elected. /s

well, it hasn’t fluctuated that much, and in december there was more hiring, after december, it will plummet, I know my employer hired many people just for the christmas season, however they were all temps just for the season.

employment will be getting worse in the coming months and beyond.

    Senator Dianne Feinstein,

    I
will not register my weapons should this bill be passed, as I do not
believe it is the government’s right to know what I own. Nor do I think
it prudent to tell you what I own so that it may be taken from me by a
group of people who enjoy armed protection yet decry me having the same a
crime. You ma’am have overstepped a line that is not your domain. I am a
Marine Corps Veteran of 8 years, and I will not have some woman who
proclaims the evil of an inanimate object, yet carries one, tell me I
    may not have one.

    I
am not your subject. I am the man who keeps you free. I am not your
servant. I am the person whom you serve. I am not your peasant. I am the
    flesh and blood of America.

    I
am the man who fought for my country. I am the man who learned. I am an
American. You will not tell me that I must register my semi-automatic
AR-15 because of the actions of some evil man.

    I
will not be disarmed to suit the fear that has been established by the
media and your misinformation campaign against the American public.

We, the people, deserve better than you.

    Respectfully Submitted,

Is this the letter that’s out in the media? If so, bravo to the Cpl. It’s disgusting how the Dems always respond by creating another crisis.

I once worked for a consulting firm in Denver that was one of the top three places that I had ever worked in my long life as an employed person–starting with my first yucky part-time jobs pulling weeds and babysitting some really badly behaved children when I was 14.
This consulting firm was run so professionally and so frugally. There was enough work for the employees so that our days were filled, but not so much that we felt very stressed. Offices weren’t laviish, but they were comfortable. All the office relationships were appropriate and friendly. We were doing a good business and each one of us had a job that made us seem necessary and productive.
Then a flashy consulting firm out of the Orange County, CA, came along and decided to buy out the firm, offering more than it should have. It spent like drunken sailors on unnecessary things, especially in the top positions, where top bosses received too high pay and there were too many of them earning enormous salaries. They flew all over the country unnecessarily, hosting lavish dinners, etc., had to have enormous and expensive offices, etc. They even felt a little sorry for me, as I LIKED my cozy office where not too many people could fit in to bother me at my work. I didn’t have that great a view either, but I was too busy to worry about that.
Long story short—the company began having financial problems when the economy took a downward turn. Eventually, they were forced to close down the expensive offices in Orange County, and eventually the old owners of my original company had to buy back whatever they could to salvage the originl company. But by then our staff had been reduced to one-fourth the number and most of us had to do extra duties. I eventually realized that the old bosses were just hanging on before they could shut down the company and retire.
My kids were older, so I went back to teaching.
I guess the moral of the story and the point I’m trying to make is that Obama seems to feel that he should “administrate” the way those jokers from Orange County managed the business and drove it to the ground.
He has no sense of how employees of most companies live and work. It is so hypocritical of him also, given the lying reason he gave for not continuing his corporate job out of college.
He absolutely disgusts me. I know if I came face to face with him, would have to turn my back and walk away to prevent myself from saying something that would be considered inappropriate.

    • KenoshaMarge

Don’t worry Diana, I have no problem saying inappropriate things. Like telling the POS POTUS, should I ever have the nauseating experience of meeting him face to face, that I think he’s the worst president we’ve ever had and that he’s an evil, indecent, dishonest, arrogant and stupid man. After the Secret Service let me up off the ground I could tell him some more.
