As someone who genuinely believed that Hillary could and would make a difference at the Department of State, I am appalled. Her tenure was a time of mediocrity with no moments of true genius or brilliance. She traveled alot. She is an engaging, smart conversationalist. But on the diplomatic front her accomplishments were dismal.

Take Turkey for instance. Did Turkey become more or less secular during Hillary’s tenure? Answer–less. Turkey took a turn toward increased sectarianism. How about Egypt? Anyone prepared to argue that the people of Egypt and Egypt’s neighbors are better off with Muslim Brother Morsi running things in lieu of Hosni Mubarak?

Libya? A strong, vibrant fledgling democracy? My ass. A country torn by persistent ethnic/tribal and sectarian differences that just happened to kill our Ambassador.

What about Iran? Is it contained? Have the mullahs surrendered on the nuclear front?

So, I can only look at her actual record and sigh with regret–the talented, brilliant Hillary was a bust.

The worst of her traits came out during and in the wake of the Benghazi attack. When the jihadists launched their assault around 4pm Washington time on the 11th of September, Hillary, or one of her senior lieutenants acting on her instructions, directed that senior Counter Terrorism officials in the Bureau of Counter Terrorism (formerly known as S/CT) not, I REPEAT NOT, be informed of the on going attack. Had the Counter Terrorism Bureau been notified then that would have signaled that this was in fact a terrorist incident. That only means one thing–Hillary was busy playing politics with the lives of American citizens. She knew full well that her Under Secretary for Management, Patrick Kennedy, who oversaw the Bureau of Diplomatic Security, had ignored repeated warnings of inadequate security. They did so for a very simple reason–the U.S. Diplomatic presence in Benghazi was just an intelligence cover. It had no real diplomatic purpose. So why spend money on an effort the CIA should have been paying for?

Despite the efforts of the 7th Floor to keep the Bureau of Counter Terrorism in the dark, staff in the Operations Center disobeyed instructions and passed word to the CT Bureau, who began planning for a possible response akin to that carried out in the wake of the attack on the USS Cole in October 2000 and the bombings of the US Embassies in Kenya and Tanzania in August 1998.

Hillary’s politicization of the event continued when the bodies of the four Americans who died in the attack arrived at Andrews Air Force Base. She insisted to the relatives of the deceased that a filmmaker, who she blamed for making an anti-Mohammed movie, would be punished for contributing to the deaths of the Americans. Despicable. Hillary, I regret having ever supported you or contributed to your campaign. I will not make that mistake again.

But that’s not all. Hillary also was helping the White House cover up a big secret. She knew that the White House, through the National Security Council, was helping the Saudis run weapons from Libya thru Turkey to the rebels in Syria. Because the White House was relying on foreign money and foreign intelligence operatives to carry out this project, Obama’s key national security aides concluded they did not have to provide a Presidential Finding to Congress. However, the point man in Libya for executing this strategy was Ambassador Chris Stevens. That’s why Stevens met with Turkey’s Ambassador a few hours prior to the attack on the so-called U.S. Consulate.

Hillary’s key move the night of September 11th, 2012, was to recommend against the deployment of the FEST. Why deploy the FEST?

he Foreign Emergency Support Team (FEST) is the U.S. government’s only interagency, on-call, short-notice team poised to respond to terrorist incidents worldwide. The FEST deploys to assist and advise the U.S. Chief of Mission in assessing crises and coordinating U.S. government crisis response activities. The FEST includes representatives from the Department of State, Department of Defense, the Intelligence Community, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation, and other appropriate agencies, such as Department of Energy, as circumstances warrant. FEST composition is flexible and tailored to the specific incident and U.S. Embassy needs. The FEST provides specialized crisis response expertise to augment existing U.S. Mission and host government capabilities.

Had the FEST been deployed the FBI would have been on scene within 48 hours of the attack. Instead, Hillary helped slow roll the response. She knew, as did the White House, that FBI on scene in Benghazi would quickly uncover the fact that operatives at the so-called annex were not official CIA personnel. That discovery by law enforcement officials would have opened the door to uncovering the illegal shipment of arms from Libya to jihadists in Syria.

That’s the real story that remains untold and unrecognized by the mainstream media. They are too busy praising Hillary and prepping her to be the first female President. Hillary as President, I am sorry to say, would be just as pathetic as Hillary the Secretary of State.

couldn’t say it any better, Larry. Good article

  • Jim ticehurst

As Paul Harvey said…Now You know the Rest of the Story..Good Article Larry…When it comes to Truth..There Must Be…No Quarter…ever…

  • Popsmoke

Oh yeah for those who just want to finger point at liberals and the DNC. Let not forget that the RNC and conservatives were no where to be found either…and that means ALL OF THEM… Including Rand Paul who rather than hit a home run, bunted to first…

  • Popsmoke

Let me also add… We do not have a NSC… We have a NHIC… National Humanitarian Intervention Council…Security went out the door 4 years ago…..

  • Popsmoke

And the republicans are contributory to this deceit. Otherwise there would be a major uproar in the house and call for a special prosecutor. Of course McCain and Graham are both accessories to this crime. The press? We do not have one of those anymore…

  • beyond partisan

For a second I had a fleeting thought that perhaps Hillary’s dismal performance was done on purpose to make Obama look bad…but at the cost of American lines? Naah. She’s just not who I thought she was. And BTW…I’m not trying to be catty or anything, and I also can’t stand it when people bash women in politics over their looks, but Hillary has NOT been taking good care of herself. And that’s not about bashing her looks so much as my concern that she’s somehow depressed or otherwise not emotionally healthy. She’s overeating, looks like crap, and I’d half expect to walk into her home and find her hoarding with the level of self-care she is showing. Back in the 08 election she was beautiful and charming and electric…now she is dowdy, frumpy, angry and bloated. What the hell happened?

    • twobits2

She sold her soul to the devil.

      • Popsmoke

No to the Saudis….The devil has no money….

    • akaPatience

When she fell recently, rumors swirled that that incident as well as others was due to a drinking problem. Who knows? Of course we’ll never find out because she’s a Democrat and female so media will cover up even if the rumors are true.

      • beyond partisan

Whoa…yeah, that makes TOTAL sense. That’s very sad if that’s the case.

    • DianaLC

WOW! I was guessing that they would have all come from Obama. OOOPS! What difference does it make?

    • KenoshaMarge

I didn’t get any right. I guessed most were said by Karl Marx, Lenin or Hiltler.

Damn, I feel like the biggest fool around for ever having supported her. But at the time, knowing what I knew then, and given the choice…

    • Sarah Campbell

binky354 , you can check the answers on the sites below for further clarification and context. I hope this helps clear up any confusions you may have expressed.

      1). Politifact:
So is Hillary Clinton advocating communism? Hardly. The masked e-mailer hopes you might think so after reading a political tyrants’ Hall of Fame list alongside truncated quotes about taking things away and the
collective good. We give the mock quiz a failing grade, with extra points deducted for unabashed fearmongering. Its argument that Clinton advocates Marxism is not just False, it’s Pants-on-Fire wrong.

      2). Snopes:
Most collections of political quotes are difficult to rate as strictly “true” or “false” — although they generally include statements that were indeed uttered by the persons to whom they’re attributed, they also create misleading impressions about the nature of those statements by eliding portions of them and stripping them of all explanatory context.

This collection of purported “Marxist” quotes by Senator Hillary Clinton is no exception, so as usual we’ve attempted to clarify it by identifying the source of each statement and providing additional context.
(Please note that this is updated from October 18, 2007)

      3). Urban Legends:
All of the above words were indeed spoken publicly by former first lady, U.S. Senator, and Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton at various times and places, but as presented here they’ve been stripped of their original context, edited with bias, and misrepresented with the aim of forging a case that Clinton holds “Marxist” views.

  • buzzlatte3

OT: But what’s with the military drills with helicopters over freeways and cities as reported by Gateway Pundit?

    • Popsmoke

Come on its only a urban warfare drill… biggy… just in case those Rooskies get any new ideas….

      • buzzlatte3

        …Rooskies or Homeland Security?

        • Popsmoke

          Same thing….

  • buzzlatte3

I always thought Hillary was SoS to lend credibility to the worst president ever. Then she disappoints by being nearly as bad as he is. Then I realized that she’s just as steeped in the lefty ideology as he is. Will Kerry be any better? Pfffffft.

    • KenoshaMarge

I don’t believe Kerry will be any better. However I also don’t believe he could be much worse.
He can, if nothing else, bore our enemies into submission or subconsciousness.

  • DianaLC

If Hillary ever comes to my town again, I will commission the biggest banner/sign I can manage. It will say: Free the filmaker! It does make a difference. Now tell the families of the dead the truth!

I can’t say anything more than what others here have said. I am so sad that my perception of her character was no better than my perception of my controlling and narcissistic ex. Makes it hard to trust oneself when we fall for people like this.

I’ll just have to decide that all politicians are crooks and liars. I am almost happy that Romney did not win, as I still believe he was an actual good man. Why would we want to throw him into that vipers’ den of D.C. politicians?

On a different note: I am not sure that Hillary is being prepped to be the next POTUS. I just think that she and Bill have received a big financial deal. I do believe the Clintons have just been going along to gain the financial windfalss that are coming to some in the know as the new world order for the U.S. is being born.
I do believe that the twenty-second amendment is in more danger of being discarded than is the second amendent (which they can get rid of far easier after the twent-second amendment is overturned.)

  • KenoshaMarge

Having also supported Hillary Clinton I am also deeply disappointed as well as disgusted. She will certainly NEVER get any support from me again. (There, that’ll fix her good!)

From things I had read I was sure that something was not right with the response from both the White House and the State Department. Although I have not been a Hillary fan for some time I found it hard to believe that she would play politics while people died. I believe it now.

Thanks for laying out how everything went down LJ. It’s makes it easier for those of us who don’t “know” who is telling us the truth about what happened to understand and “know” more of the truth than before.

  • HARP2

Turns out Hillary is quite used to lying.

  • Dave L.

I do think she would have been better than Obama, but her legacy is not one that I would want. After failing in her bid for president, it has been all downhill ever since. She is just as big a liar as her husband. I think she has just become a typical political hack, “Horray for me, and screw you !!”

    • getfitnow

She would have come under more scrutiny from the msm, I believe. On the other hand, I recall how they had “anointed” her for POTUS before ‘hope and change” entered the picture.

She said SCOTUS made an “excellent” decision re: healthcare. That screams big government to me.

Let’s not forget her husband had to be reined in by the republicans.

Never thought I’d say this about Hillary Clinton, but in addition to the policy/dept management failures, I don’t want a door mat for POTUS. The country is weak enough.

  • akaPatience

Ditto Larry. Hillary has proven to me that, contrary to what she’d like us to believe, she is indeed very good at standing by her men (aside from those who died in Benghazi). Having such a feckless boss certainly didn’t help her to TRULY distinguish herself in her job. But I have a feeling she and her husband wanted her to have the job first and foremost to: 1.) help her overcome any gender bias as a female candidate for Commander In Chief, as well as 2.) affording her the opportunity to confer with heads of state around the world, whose names she will surely drop when she campaigns for POTUS. Just as Obama’s been shielded by media because of his skin color, so has Hillary been shielded because of her gender. Neither one seems to be held to a very high standard when it comes to garnering the support of The Fourth Estate.

  • Theymustbemorons

Larry, and HelenK2, as a former Hillary supporter and contributor to her campaign, there was a time I would have been sad to agree with both of you, but that time is over. You’re right. She’s accomplished nothing. She’s been on a world tour for the last four years. Managed to get a number of people killed due to her ambition and stupidity. And that’s it.
I’m only glad I was able to finally get off her mailing list. For a long time I was getting emails to “help Hillary retire her campaign debt” but then I asked for a refund of what was, for me, a substantial amount of contributions to her 2008 campaign and that did the trick. I didn’t receive a refund, but she stopped emailing me. And, whenever I get a mailing from the DNC with a postage-paid reply envelope, I return the envelope — empty.
As for the White House and its future occupants, I don’t think I’ll ever see a worthy candidate again in my lifetime. I’m 61 and I believe it’s highly unlikely. We are being forced to watch a long-term parade of mediocrities who are, as Larry said “being praised and prepped” to take over as what I believe will be “the next first.” The next first woman president… the next first Latino president … the next first Gay/Lesbian/Bi-Sexual/Trans-Sexual president (that would be 4 separate admins) .. and so on. There’s nothing wrong with those modifying words before the word president, but what is wrong is that those modifying words have become the key reason why these candidates are being packaged and promoted and why the media gets behind them for the big push to the winner’s circle.
So we have a parade of mediocrities, intellectual lightweights who claim expertise they do not have. “A constitutional law expert” who has hidden all official records of his supposed academic achievements. A Secretary of State who has traveled more than any other, who has made no impact, but yet who is now perceived to have extraordinary foreign policy expertise. And so on.
The packaging and the prepping continue. The parade goes on.

    • akaPatience

Theymustbemorons – you said a mouthful, and beautifully too. Thank you for your comments. It makes me sick that the modifier counts more than the subject anymore. This is of course for the benefit of our intellectually lazy, dumbed-down citizenry. People seem to be overly interested in symbolism rather than substance these days. Is it any wonder media have to deceive, ignore, mislead, withhold, etc. in order to prop up the flashy-hood-ornament-of-a-POTUS they’re so proud of putting in office? Unfortunately there are too few liberals with enough integrity these days who’ll dare to criticize Obama or Clinton, simply because of their skin color or gender. Those who won’t will never concede that holding minorities and women to lower standards displays the very prejudice they claim they abhor.

    • getfitnow

THIS, I nominate as comment of the day!

      Just one little point to:
      ‘…who has made no impact….’

Many in the ME would disagree.

    • elizabethrc

Well said. I have watched and listened to Hillary with dismay, having once supported her. She displayed blatant arrogance and callousness during her testimony before Congress when she shouted “What does it matter now”? As if that would stop criticism of her wanton malfeasance in office. I’ve seen her laugh at legitimate questions, as though they were just too ridiculous and simpleminded to be answered. I’ve seen her turn from a woman who knew her own mind to a woman who now only knows Obama’s mind (such as it is).
No, Hillary will have a hard time defending her non actions as SOS, should she run. Congress may give her a pass (Dems, that is and probably some Repubs) but will the American people?

we will never know the truth about Benghazi. Seems like it was a ME fast and furious.

As I have said before, I wanted Hilary for president. worked the phones during the primary, contributed to her campaign. When she did not fight on May 31,2008, I like millions of others was very disappointed. When she joined the backtrack bunch was disappointed again. When looked into the faces of the families of the four dead in Benghazi and lied about the video , I was completely over her. I really hope she does not run in 2016

    Hilary Clinton’s last day
    John Kerry’s first day.

US embassy bombed in Turkey which was mentioned on the news

Ben Laden’s son in law arrested in Turkey. we wanted to talk to him.
did not happen he is being sent back to Iran. NOT mentioned on the news

the fact that Turkey would not let us talk to this man is a failure
