And to think I once supported this moron for President. John McCain is not and was not a hero. Just because you get shot down while flying over enemy territory, does not make you a hero. Yet, McCain, who was a failure as a student at the Naval Academy, parlayed his status as a Prisoner of War into a lucrative political career. It would be one thing if he were a true man of conviction and principle. But the only thing that matters to him, like his erstwhile buddy John Kerry, is whether or not an issue or policy is “good” for John McCain.
The only good news is that he is finished in Arizona as a political force. The man is now a doddering idiot, consumed with petty petulance when he is shoved, deservedly so, into the obscurity he so richly deserves. Watch his pathetic performance today on the floor of the Senate:
Election have consequences?
You bet. But last year’s election was not about endorsing Obama’s vision of healthcare, as McCain would have you believe. The failure of the Republican establishment to rally behind Romney and Romney’s failure to put together a legit campaign paved the way for Obama’s re-election. That does not mean we must lie down like Jews outside the gas chambers at Auschwitz and accept our fate. Obamacare is a guaranteed nightmare for the economy and for the average American. Of course, why should McCain give a shit? He’s got an exemption from Obama. Typical McCain, screw the constituents. Just as long as his bread is buttered, that is all that matters.
I am not a Ted Cruz enthusiast, but I do admire his willingness to take a stand and put himself on a line against the self-serving, self-feeding, self-perpetuating brand of incest that passes for Republican politics in Washington. Much better a loner and an iconoclast than a corporate whore like McCain.
