Obama and the Ultimate Obamacare Lie

I like Andy McCarthy, but dude, you need to stop burying your lede. Hidden in the bowels of his piece today, McCarthy has some stunning news that most Americans are going to lose their health care coverage and will be forced on to the non-functioning Obama exchanges. Andy was just on Megan Kelly and managed to get to the key point right off the bat (Andy, you need a re-write on your NRO piece).

It gets worse. My friends at the American Freedom Law Center (on whose advisory board I sit) are representing Priests for Life, a group aggrieved by Obamacare’s denial of religious liberty — specifically, the ACA’s mandate that believers, despite their faith-based objections, provide their employees with coverage for the use of abortifacients and contraceptives. On October 17, the Obama Department of Health and Human Services, represented by the Obama Justice Department, submitted a brief to the federal district court in Washington, opposing Priests for Life’s summary judgment motion. On page 27 of its brief, the Justice Department makes the following remarkable assertion:

The [ACA’s] grandfathering provision’s incremental transition does not undermine the government’s interests in a significant way. [Citing, among other sources, the Federal Register.] Even under the grandfathering provision, it is projected that more group health plans will transition to the requirements under the regulations as time goes on. Defendants have estimated that a majority of group health plans will have lost their grandfather status by the end of 2013.

HHS and the Justice Department cite the same section of the Federal Register referred to by John Hinderaker, as well as an annual survey on “Employer Health Benefits” compiled by the Kaiser Family Foundation in 2012.

So, while the president has been telling us that, under the vaunted grandfathering provision, all Americans who like their health-insurance plans will be able to keep them, “period,” his administration has been representing in federal court that most health plans would lose their “grandfather status” by the end of this year. Not just the “5 percent” of individual-market consumers, but close to all consumers — including well over 100 million American workers who get coverage through their jobs — have been expected by the president swiftly to “transition to the requirements under the [Obamacare] regulations.” That is, their health-insurance plans would be eliminated. They would be forced into Obamacare-compliant plans, with all the prohibitive price hikes and coercive mandates that “transition” portends.

This will bring an uprising of some really pissed off Americans. The DOJ, facing jeopardy if they lied in court, had the audacity to tell the truth.

This is the killer clause that will undo Obamacare. A good riddance.

The damn insurance companies share blame in this. They willingly crawled on board because they understood that the bill, as drafted, would require most Americans to buy more complicated policies and pay more money. That’s why health insurance companies, smelling big profits, jumped on board. Well, fuck them too.

I don’t need maternity coverage, nor does my wife. I don’t need substance abuse insurance. I stopped eating wheat, I exercise and I make a conscious effort to live a healthy lifestyle. I simply want insurance for unexpected, tragic events. More Americans agree with me. Obama has awakened the sleeping beast and it will eat his sorry ass.

Thanks to Helen for the video:

Nobody has to buy birth control. If they want to, then it’s legal and the insurance company has to offer coverage.
We tried a la carte insurance. It hasn’t worked, for a variety of reasons, but mostly because it allows the insurance companies to prey upon people who aren’t fortunate enough to be amongst the 80% of us who have insurance through work.
Think about that for a moment. the priests are OK with a system that allows insurance companies to discriminate against the poor and the sick? They want that to continue? They stand by the people whose greed is so out of control that they aren’t satisfied with a cartel! No, the cartel has to go above and beyond reasonable profits to force people into debt slavery or death.
Maybe we should cut off Medicare. Some of those old people might be taking medicine I don’t need. Why should I pay for it?

I read this morning that people have to actually sign up for Obamacare and choose their plans before finding out if their doctors are included in the package.

“Under the exchanges, the government did not require health plans to submit detailed network information,” she said. “That’s why the networks aren’t listed on healthcare.gov. When you go to look in at the plan choices, you can’t see the provider networks.”

So it’s a total crap shoot. You can hope your doctor is included but then can’t change for at least another year. That sly Obama. Now he has the whole country campaigning for him.

    • DianaLC

I think this may be even worse. I saw this woman and her daughter on Fox last night. The woman looked humiliated. I would have been too. Obamacare gave her no option but to go onto Medicaid.

      http://www.breitbart.com/Big-Government/2013/11/21/ObamaCare-forces-woman-into-welfare-program

      • Anon777777

hahahahaha Oh you saw that on Fox, eh? I watch Fox. Mostly for entertainment, since that is all they provide. You do know that each and every “obamacare horror story” that has been shown on Fox has been debunked, don’t you?

        • DianaLC

Show me the proof, and it can’t come from the Liar in Ghief or his minions. If it comes from NBC or MSNBC that is also not valid–as tingles down their legs confuse their thinking.

    • Anon777777

Ask your doctor what plan he accepts. This is no different than before. However, it should be different. It should be better. They should have provided that info. But it’s not a “crapshoot.”

Lanny Davis says the problem is that Democrats haven’t been very good crisis managers and that is the biggest problem with Obamacare.

    • KenoshaMarge

The biggest problem? Seriously? It must hurt the head to be such a party animal.

I thought Lanny Davis was a better person, but I guess not.

        • KenoshaMarge

Was a time I thought so too. Now I just think, well he’s a Democrat and am not surprised at anything said or done. I have lost all use for the party I supported for so many years.

            • KenoshaMarge

And now that Reid has blown up the Senate with the “nuclear” option, I find my loathing growing and know that if I cannot vote for a Republican, as the lessor or two evils, I will vote 3rd party.

I will never give a vote to the disgusting Democrat, and I do mean RAT party again.

    From a Zero Hedge reader:

My company, based in California, employs 600. We used to
insure about 250 of our employees. The rest opted out. The company paid
50% of their premiums for about $750,000/yr.

Under obamacare, none can opt out without penalty, and the rates
are double or triple, depending upon the plan. Our 750k for 250
employees is going to $2 million per year for 600 employees.

By mandate, we have to pay 91.5% of the premium or more up from the 50% we used to pay.

Our employees share of the premium goes from $7/week for the
cheapest plan to $30/week. 95% of my employees were on that plan.
Remember, we used to pay 50% now we pay 91.5% and the premiums still go
    up that much!!

The cheapest plan now has a deductible of $6350! Before it was
    $150. Employees making $9 to $10/hr, have to pay $30/wk and have a $6350
    deductible!!! What!!!!

They can’t afford that to be sure. Obamacare will kill their
propensity to seek medical care. More money for less care? How does that
    help them?

Here is the craziest part. Employees who qualify for
mediCAL (the California version of Medicare), which is most of my
employees, will automatically be enrolled in the Federal SNAP program.
They cannot opt out. They cannot decline. They will be automatically
enrolled in the Federal food stamp program based upon their level of
Obamacare qualification. Remember, these people work full time, living
in a small town in California. They are not seeking assistance. It all seems like a joke. How can this be the new system?

Pelosi, pass the bill to find out what’s in it? Surprise! You’ve annihilated the working class.

Good News: Obama and Democrats are going down in flames.

Bad News: They are taking us with them.

What Obama/Reid/Pelosi and ALL Democrats did was ruin the health insurance and healthcare system we had and this is one indication that you cannot just fix it with a speech.

One question Mr President, did the Republicans force you to choose Michelle Obama’s college friend’s website firm to construct the Obamacare website?

Notice also in the following quote how Obama now owns only the “uninsured” and the pre-existing condition “folks” who was trying to save. http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video/2013/11/20/obama_republicans_making_it_difficult_to_fix_obamacare_glitches.html

No mention whatsoever of the unaffordable universal mandate, the forced cancellations of existing plans and the wholesale invasion of his scheme into everyone’s most intimate details and personal choices.

Mr President, when you ask me to pay for others health care that means I get to dictate to them how to live their lives. That is what unequal taxpayer funded Big Government is all about.

O/T I’ve been warning my liberal son who lives in a city about black-on-white violence because I want him to be aware and be safe. I get the feeling he thinks I’m obsessing. Finally the media starts reporting, with Fox doing the best job, of course. Here’s some straight talk by Thomas Sowell:

    http://www.wnd.com/2013/11/glossing-over-black-thugs-game/

    • DianaLC

I did see those videos featured on several of the Fox shows last night. One was especially horrifying. A while ago–had to be over a year–we were experiencing something like this in Denver. It didn’t appear to be a “game” so much as brutal attacks by young AAs on lone white people who were often robbed. Denver was just getting it’s street cameras installed, so authorities were able finally to get a video and identify the creeps by playing it on local news and printing photos in the papers.
Those reports a while age made me feel so relieved that I was no longer working downtown. I don’t think I would ever walk downtown by myself, though I know that Denver is probably safer than many cities.

    http://www.weeklystandard.com/blogs/michelle-obama-my-husband-has-got-swag_767940.html

    X-rated Urban dictionary for “swag”:

    “SWAG

The most used word in the whole fucking universe. Douche bags use it, your kids use it, your mail man uses it, and your fucking dog uses it.

If you got swag, you generally wear those shitty hats side way, and your ass hanging out like a fucking goof cause your pants are half way down your white ass legs.

To break down the word, it means (Secretly We Are Gay). It is also a word that means to represent yourself/ the way you represent yourself, baggy clothes, shitty hats, small penis and basically a way to say your afraid to come out of the closet.

We need a moment to appreciate Obama by thought, word and deed has led us to post-racial America where a man is now judged by his character, and not the color of his skin.

Obama is an incompetent hack in any language. America deserved so much more than him. But he served his purpose to break the shackles of PC America.

Cory Gardner is my uncles Representative. His district is north of mine. Not sure anyone caught him on TV when he mentioned that he and his wife got the cancellation notice for their family’s insurance since he refused the one through the government.

Time for our avuncular VP Biden to start dusting off his robes for an upcoming transition of federal power.

Perfect timing for the nation to read: Deconstructing Obama, by Jack Cashill http://www.amazon.com/Deconstructing-Obama-Americas-Postmodern-President/dp/B0055X55HK

A book we all need to read: “Do Federal Social Programs Work” by David Muhlhausen.

Too pricey for most to get for themselves right now, but a good one for your local library to purchase and make mandatory reading for all public officials.

Apparently well researched, footnoted and exhaustively documented. It tracks federal social programs for their merit and met goals. Overwhelmingly the author found no benefit and in some cases even more negative impacts than before the programs were initiated.

He cuts across all party lines from the well documented failures of Head Start to the more conservative teen abstinence programs funded at the federal levels.

(From Steve Chapman article “Head Start and other federal failures)

LA Times is even reporting Obama now past the tipping point where there is nothing more he can do to regain credibility, even what little he ever had in the first place.

Good time to bring back the excellent scholarship that confirms the fake authorship of Dreams from My Father to finally seal the deal on his calculated and intentional fraud this man committed ab initio on the American public, and the world.

Obama represents the lowest point to which America has sunk since the McCarthy accusations.
